Sketch Challenge 495

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Today I found my way back to my craft table to work on some projects that i've started, just not finished them. I also checked out today's SCS Sketch Challenge and decided to play along since I need a birthday card for a family friend.
Here is the sketch & my card....

My card is for my friend's son who's job moved him Florida about a year ago and he loves to golf. He's a pretty great guy and we sure miss him around here! His birthday is a week or so away yet so I have plenty of time to get this in the mail to him. This card is also very mail friendly! :)

Sketch Challenge 495 Card:

Stamps: Amuse, Golf Bag-Stamp It! Sentiment from PSX
Ink: Baja Breeze, Crumb Cake
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Whisper White, Manchester DSP
Accessories: Circle Nesties, Banner Framelits, Crumb Cake Taffeta Ribbon, 2 Sided Tape

Here's to wishing Tim a wonderful day and a great year ahead!

Also wanted to give an update on my back. Nothing much has changed yet. Still have my arthritis pain and once in a while the throbbing pain comes back but for the most part the Advil is helping. Dr said it could be about 3 weeks before I notice it getting better. Keep sending those good thoughts my way. I'm hoping to be pain free soon!

Well, that's all for me today!
I have more stamping to do this afternoon. It's a good day to be in the basement as it's been SO hot & humid here the last few days. Storms are in the forecast today but i'm not thinking it's going to cool down any...afterall it is July!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Merry Monday Challenge #115

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
It's been crazy around the Aungst Pad. Friday, I went in to have the procedure done to burn the nerves in my lower back. Everything went well and i'm in a bit of pain but the Advil is helping greatly! I've been sleeping well but at times walking & bending can be a bit painful. Hoping in a few weeks once those nerves die off that i'll be pain free! Saturday, the hubby & I went and picked black raspberries for jelly as soon as my back gets better. He picked the majority of them. Together we had 7 quarts! Then on Sunday my oldest daughter, Kirsten, had planned a family day out on the island in the river where her boyfriend has a cottage at. Last minute my Mom got sick and did not come. We had my Dad out with us as well as my younger brother Randy & his wife, Melissa and their dog, Churchill. We cooked on the grill, went swimming from the boat dock,  I however did not swim due to having 4 needle holes in my lower back and the river being dirty. Wasn't taking a chance with getting infection in there! Then we took a nice ride to the sandbar that is in the river where everyone hangs out. My Dad really enjoyed himself as we all did. I just relaxed & took in the sights of a beautiful day!

So, you know they saying...all good things have to come to an end and here we are on a Monday already. Kristie is our fabulous hostess this week over at Merry Monday and she has a pretty awesome challenge for us......so let's get to it!

I have grown to love making an all white card but they are hard to photograph sometimes! For this one I used a tree die from Impression Obsession and added little white pearls to it. Both trees are popped up and I added a white bow. My sentiment is from Stampin Up that was available last year. I embossed it with Silver Embossing Powder and cut it out with Circle & Scallop Circle Nestibilities. The layer under it was embossed with a retired SU embossing folder called Snow Burst. It's one of my favorites!

Merry Monday Week #115 Card:

Stamps: Merry Little Christmas
Ink: Versamark
Cardstock: Neenah White
Accessories: SU Snow Burst EF, Impression Obsession Tree Die, White Pearls, Circle & Scallop Circle Nestibilities, White Stitched Ribbon, Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

Hope you can stop by the Merry Monday blog to see what the other ladies have created this week! Lots of white creations!

Well, that is all for me!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #114

Hello & Happy Monday!

Time for another challenge from over at Merry Monday!
This week's it's Katie's turn to host the challenge and she is looking for "Sparkle, Shimmer & Shine" on our cards!

My pictures aren't the best but they will do. When I rearranged my stamp room a few weeks ago I took 2 little lights off of my lightbox and I think they made quite a difference from looking at my pictures. I will have to re-attach them.

For my card I pulled out this retired set called Bright Hopes. It's another one of those sets that I just love the images & sentiments in it. I embossed the tree in Silver Embossing Powder and cut it out with my Oval & Oval Scalloped Nesties. I layered that on top of a die from the Apothecary Framelits that I cut out in the Silver Glimmer Paper. I pulled out a sheet of DSP from the new Moonlight DSP Paper Pad. I just love the new Blackberry Bliss In Color! I mounted that on a white card base and added some rhinestones to my embossed tree. My sentiment on the front is made on a flag banner with a Blackberry Bliss bow added with a glue dot. I think I have the "Sparkle, Shimmer & Shine" covered with this card! It sure is beautiful in real life! Thanks Katie for an awesome challenge this week!
Be sure to head over to the Merry Monday Blog to see what the other ladies created this week. It's fantastic to see all the idea's people come up with!

My Little Bailee Boo Boo!

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Yesterday was alot of fun at the stamp party! We had so much fun making the 3 pretty cards that Nan designed for us. I enjoy sitting and catching up with each of the ladies. Deb K. shared her pictures from her recent trip to Florida to visit her son, Tim. We are all hoping to plan a trip down next year before summer to visit Tim. He is just like my 2nd son as I babysat him as a little boy. Anyways, I had a chance to order some new things from the new Stampin Up! catty. Love that new Fry Box Die and cannot wait to get it! Also ordered some cardstocks and a few other cute things too! Afterwards we went out to an early supper at a local restaurant with Kirsten & Brad for Father's Day. It turned out to be a great day!

So, today I do have things to share that I made for the July 4th holiday but instead I wanted to share a few sweet little pictures of my little lover dog, Bailee! She & Gigi have done so well together in the last few months and I just don't talk about them enough. Today is Bailee's day!

When we first adopted Bailee Boo Boo we did not think it would work out with Gigi but after some time the 2 have become the best of friends. Gigi really looks out for Bailee when the 2 Jack Russells are here but for the most part Bailee & Gigi get along very well with Shady & Rosco....as long as food is not brought into the picture!
Bailee follows me everywhere, everyday! If I go downstairs to craft, she's hot on my heels and lays on the chair and watches me. She is my little shadow and i'm so glad she is with us. Our days are full of laughs and entertainment with Gigi & Bailee in our lives. Life would be really boring without them!
We love our rescued doggies to the moon & back!

Well, that is all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful Sunday!

Masculine Cards

Hello & Happy Thursday!

It's a dreary, cool & rainy day here in PA. Not at all feeling like summer. I guess technically it's still spring but there is a chill in the air today. Even the dogs did not want to go out in this yukky weather. I headed downstairs to ride my exercise bike then felt the need to make some masculine cards. My card rack only has 2 on it. Some people struggle with making masculine cards but they are probably one of my favorite's beside Christmas cards. So I grabbed my box of masculine stamps and got to work!

Both cards took all but 45 minutes to whip up. They are nothing fancy but then guy cards aren't suppose to be fancy!

Ink: Always Artichoke
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand, Neenah White, Too the Nines DSP

Well, that's all for me!
