July 4th Candy Crates

 Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Another hot & humid day is on tap here in PA.
I sure wish we were getting another cool down but by the looks of the weather for next week...nope. I guess it is summer, right?

Today I am sharing a cool July 4th treat that I whipped up.

I pulled out my retired Wood Woods stamp set and stamped off all those stars in Real Red & Pacific Point. Then I diecut them out using the Wood Crates Framelits that are also retired. The crate itself also is with the Wood Crates Framelits.
I filled each crate with white shred paper and a cello bag filled with a Rice Krispy Treat and a couple Dove Milk Chocolates! That was about all I could find in the stores for July 4th. I did not even see the Red, White & Blue M&M's except at Sam's Club but I did not need a huge container like that!

Then I added the tag that was diecut from the Tailor Made Tags Dies.
I added my sentiment which is from Papertreyink and a diecut star to each tag.
I love making candy treats for holidays when I have the time.
These were alittle time consuming but I love how they turned out!

Project Details:

Stamps: Wood Words (retired), Papertreyink (sentiment)
Ink: Real Red, Pacific Point
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White
Accessories: Tailor Made Tags Dies, Wood Crate Framelits, Real Red Satin Ribbon (retired), Cello Bags, Red Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Wood Crates

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope you are all having a nice week so far!
Yesterday & today our weather has been gorgeous!
We had a rather busy day yesterday with doctor appointments then we took the bikes out!
I enjoy the bikes rides ALOT especially when our weather is a 10+!

My doctor visit yesterday was with a Dermatologist.
I have had this skin issue since Shawn was in the hospital in January 2017.
My family doctor has been prescribing a variety of topical creams & antifungal medications to combat it but nothing was taking it away and I keep getting new spots.
Yesterday the Dermatologist looked at everything and diagnosed me with Psoriasis.
Yea, I had that feeling since it began but my family doctor said no.
It's all over my body from head to toe.
The itch is horrible and some of the plaques (as they call the spots) are awful looking.
Psoriasis has no cure and hopefully with the new medicines he prescribed I can get it under control.
This is for life and finding the correct medicine to keep it under control is key.
I tell ya, ever since I turned 50....it all went downhill!

So, today I want to share another July 4th treat I whipped up.
I used those fun Wood Crates!

My crates are diecut from Thick Whisper White cardstock,
Once they are glued and dried, I added some white shred paper from the Dollar Tree then my 3 x 5 Cello Bag with Hershey Kisses in. I found them at Walmart.

Project Details:

Stamps: Wood Words, Sentiment is from Papertreyink
Ink: Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White
Accessories: Wood Crate Framelits, Cherry Cobbler Stitched Ribbon, Whisper White Baker's Twine, 3X5 Cello Bags, Rhinestones, Shred Paper, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

If you make these I would strongly suggest the Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere these crates together. And also a heavy paper. These can be very flimsy if you don't use something heavy along with a strong holding glue!
These can be a fun treat to sit on your dinner table for any occasion!
And the candy idea's are endless!

That's is all for now!
Thanks for stopping by & have a terrific day!

Wood Words Hello Friend

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope all the Dad's out there had a wonderful Father's Day yesterday!
My hubby did some yard work in the morning then took it easy the rest of the day.
The weather was sweltering to say the least! 90's plus very high humidity made for outside activities to be very uncomfortable.

Today I have another project to share with you that I made with the Wood Words stamp set.
Love all the images & sentiments in it!

I paired up the Wood Words with the Wood Textures DSP for a rustic feel to my card.
I am going to try to get this in the mail this week to a friend that I have not seen in awhile. Thankfully, I was able to pick up a book of postage stamps over the weekend. I was completely out!

Hello Friend Card:

Stamps: Wood Words
Ink: Real Red, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Real Red, Very Vanilla, Wood Textures DSP
Accessories: Woodgrain EF, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Real Red Stitched Grosgrain, Vanilla Pearls, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

My thoughts today...

Yep, all of the above!

I am off to get some housework done before we get some bad storms that are to come thru this afternoon. I always get a little nervous when they predict them after living in the midwest and the tornado that went thru Joplin Missouri in 2011.
One thing I have learned is to never take Mother Nature for granted!!
Be safe everyone!

Thanks for stopping by & have yourself a great day!

Masculine Happy Birthday

Hello & Happy Saturday!

A dreary Saturday here so far. No sunshine but no rain either. I sure wish we'd get one or the other!
Today there is alot of activity in the neighborhood as Red Lion is having their Yard Sale Days. Since we have lived here we have not participated but i'm thinking maybe next year because we have stuff building up in our storage room that we don't use anymore. It'd be a great way to get rid of some of that stuff plus I have tons of stamp stuff I could probably sell off too!

Anyways, today I have a card to share that I made with a new SU set called Wood Words.
When I first saw this set I was not really impressed with it but as always with me it takes me seeing lots of cool idea's before I get  taken in by it! I tried to keep this card more on the masculine side and it did not hurt that the July 4th holiday is approaching quickly so I put the 2 together.

The recipient of this card is a blogging friends husband who I have been watching their Facebook Live  video's the last few months and always enjoy seeing the 2 showing us lots of cool card idea's. Yes, he stamps each week in the video's! Such a lovely couple they are and I enjoy tuning in each week to watch! The husband is celebrating his birthday...actually today! Yes, I am way late on mailing it out but better late than never! Hope he likes it! Happy Birthday, Tim!

Happy Birthday, Tim Card:

Stamps: Wood Words, Guy Greetings
Ink: Night of Navy, Real Red
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Red Rhinestones, Night of Navy Baker's Twine, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Since getting the Wood Words Bundle (yes it comes with matching dies!) I have come to really like this set and see many cards & projects in my future!!

My thoughts today....

You know because every crafter needs lots of supplies at all times whether we need them or not!
I know I am not the only one.....am I???

Well, that is all for me today!
Shawn & I are getting ready to head down to Maryland to a park that has waterfalls for a quick walk/hike. I always enjoy being out in the peace & quiet of nature as long as a snake does not cross my path! It won't be so quiet if that happens!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today & have a wonderful weekend!
