Treehouse Adventures

Hello & Happy Friday!

I realized it's been over a week since I last posted.
Ryan's sickness has me taking a back seat to doing any crafting.
He's been sick most of this week and in bed for the most part.
Finally the doctor called and got him some medicine to help with the nausea.
I feel so bad for him and the suffering he is going thru.
The doctor is still waiting on pending test results. This test is very involved and will tell the tale of what is going on with him. He is also set up to see a Gastro doctor next Tuesday.
I will be honest...I wish it was sooner!!
He looks terrible and completely exhausted and just not himself.
Whatever is making him sick I hope they find out soon because each & everyday I am growing more & more concerned about his overall health. Today it is 1 month since this all began.
We were told that yesterday (Thursday) or today (Friday) that the test results would be in.
My fingers are crossed that today we will know more!

Yesterday while he slept most of the afternoon I did pop down to my stamp table for maybe an hour or so. I wasn't sure where to start since my mojo has been completely zapped.
I started with using this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge.
I also used Treehouse Adventures for a Congrats card.
Here is the sketch & my card.

I loved the dolphin in the inspiration picture but sadly I do not have a dolphin stamp.
Instead, I used the little house from the Treehouse Adventures set to create a card for a new home owner. The inside is blank to write a personal message.

Card Details:

Stamps: Treehouse Adventures, Itty Bitty Greetings
Ink: Blueberry Bushel, Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Blueberry Bushel, Granny Apple Green, Crumb Cake, Crumb Cake DSP. Whisper White
Accessories: Oval Layering Framelits, Triple Banner Punch, Up & Away Thinlits, Blueberry Bushel 1/8 Grosgrain Ribbon, Glue Dot, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

That is all I have for now.
If you could please say alittle prayer today for Ryan, it would be much appreciated.
Going to skip the "My thoughts today" since my thoughts are all over the place.

Thanks for stopping by...

Petal Palette & Perennial Birthday

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Hope your week is going well.
I have been in a fog lately.
Yesterday we had a cold front come thru and our weather changed for the better!
Last night we slept with the windows open which we have not done in quite awhile.
This cooler weather is much welcomed and I am hoping we can find some time to get the bikes out!
I think a nice bike ride might get me out of this funk i've been in.

Yesterday I went to my stamp table to try to create something.
I had this card idea on my phone but have no idea who or where it came from.
There was only a small snippet of it in the picture so I tried my hardest to create something just from that one small corner of the card.
This is the picture on my phone and then the card I created.....

I'm not sure why this was on my phone but I was drawn to the colors!

Card Details:

Stamps: Petal Palette, Perennial Birthday
Ink: Emerald Envy, Flirty Flamingo
Cardstock: Emerald Envy, Thick Whisper White
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Petal Pairs Embossing Folders, Emerald Envy 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Rhinestones, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Those colors look great together, don't they?
Emerald Envy retired the end of May, sadly.
I have a ton of this ribbon so i'm sure you'll be seeing more of this around in the future!

Masculine Birthday

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope your all doing well.
Not much has changed here and Ryan is still having issues and most likely will end up going to a specialist.

With all that has been going on I realized that I missed my Dad's birthday.
Now granted I have not seen him in over 3 years but I always send him a card.
I really miss him.
Here is the card I made and will get it out in the mail today.

Card Details:

Stamps: Guy Greetings, Truly Tailored
Ink: Tranquil Tide, Night of Navy
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Tranquil Tide, Very Vanilla, True Gentleman DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Night of Navy Twine, Clear Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Happy 83rd Birthday, Dad!

Many Blessings

Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

I know I probably sound like a broken record but it has been so hot & humid here in PA. And wet!
Dewpoints are tropical so it feels that way as soon as you go out the door.
I hope soon this weather pattern changes.
We have not had the bikes out since July and I know I am really missing it.

Yesterday late afternoon we got the results of Ryan's tests back and they were all negative.
Not sure what the next step will be but I am hoping it all works itself out.

Today I have a card to share that I made the other day.
A very quick & easy card made using a new set called Many Blessings.
This set is a million dollar achiever set by Ruth Snyder.

This stamp set and DSP called Country Lane will both be available to customers Wednesday September 5th.  By now most of my customers have received their Holiday catalogs so make sure you sit down and give it a good look. So many awesome things in it this year!

Card Details:

Stamps: Many Blessings
Ink: Blackberry Bliss
Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Blackberry Bliss, Whisper White, Country Lane DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Crushed Curry Enamel Dots (retired), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

The DSP I used on this card actually goes with a suite called Country Lane.
It's a beautiful, rustic stamp set with some cool embellishments.
There is even a new Textured Impressions Embossing Folder for this suite called Tin Tile.
Oh my!!! Can't wait to get my hands on it!

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hello & Happy Friday!

Well, yesterday I made myself go down to my stamp room and make a card.
I needed to do something while still waiting on test results.
I looked to one of my favorite challenge blogs to help me out of this rut i'm in.
Tuesday Morning Sketches has become one of my favorites!
Here is this week's sketch and my card samples....

Since my small pre-order arrived on Tuesday I decided to get out the Halloween set called Spooky Sweets to make my card. The witches hats come from the Bubble & Toil DSP that will be available in the Holiday Mini catalog on September the 5th. I know the stamp set called Cauldron Bubbles also has coordinating Framelits that cut the witches hat out of this DSP but I did not order them. Instead, I had to fussy cut them out and you all know I am not crazy about fussy cutting!

Card Details:

Stamps: Spooky Sweets
Ink: Highland Heather, Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Basic Black, Lemon Lime Twist, Whisper White, Bubble & Toil DSP
Accessories: Corner Rounder, Gorgeous Grape Striped Ribbon, Gorgeous Grape Glittered Enamel Dots, Mini Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

First Halloween card of the season!
I'm sure there will be more to come.....it's one of my favorite holidays!

Mistletoe Season

Good Morning & Happy Thursday!

The last few weeks have been rough with Ryan being sick.
I have been having a hard time keeping focused and motivated to do any stamping.
He got some of his tests completed and now we wait on results.
Waiting on test results is the hardest part and the fact that I am a worry wart does not help!

Today I have a card & a box to share that I created for Christmas.
I know it's way to early for holiday projects yet but sometimes you gotta start early!
I made a Gatefold card with a bellyband to keep the card closed.

This box uses a whole sheet of 12 X 12 cardstock & dsp and makes a nice sized box!
I would highly suggest using a heavy duty cardstock for the bottom to keep it sturdy and a good adhesive! If you used Tombow Mono Adhesive or Snail...it will fall apart.

Card & Box Details:

Stamps: Mistletoe Season
Ink: Old Olive, Night of Navy, Real Red
Cardstock: Whisper White, Night of Navy, Real Red 12 X 12, Under the Mistletoe DSP
Accessories: Simply Score Board, Real Red Ribbon, Rhinestones, Clear Wink of Stella, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I will be making this with my friends at a get together soon.
Might just do a birthday set instead. Great way to use up that DSP and stop hoarding it!
I am anxious to make another one for Christmas with the new Designer Series Papers that will be coming out in September! They are gorgeous!

Beautiful Day

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Yesterday was suppose to be my cleaning day but it ended up being a day I sat from 9 am till 10 pm last night putting together a puzzle that I started on Sunday afternoon.
I was determined to get this 1000 piece puzzle completed only to find that one piece was missing.
I picked it up at our local Goodwill store about a month or so ago and I loved the scene that was on it.
Shawn helped me wrap it up last night and by the time I was done I had such a pounding headache.
It's a beautiful puzzle but i'm sad that there is a piece missing.

Here is 2 pictures of the completed puzzle.

So today is a new day and i'm up early to get my housework done!
Yea, i'm not quite as chipper about that but it's one of those things that has to be done.
I do have a card to share today that I made last Friday.
It uses the Beautiful Day stamp set.

This set includes this pretty flower image and a lovely butterfly image with 2 sayings.
I have used the butterfly image many of times but this was the first time I used the flower.
I stamped it in Memento Black and colored my image in with my Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green & Daffodil Delight Stampin Blends. They are just as wonderful as the Copic Markers!

Card Details:

Stamps: Beautiful Day, Lilypad Lake (saying)
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Lovely Lipstick, Whisper White, Lovely Lipstick DSP
Accessories: Rhinestones, Lovely Lipstick 1/8 Grosgrain Ribbon, Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Today I am expecting my Holiday Catalog preorder to arrive!
I'm excited about it especially since it was scheduled to arrive yesterday and it ended up in Baltimore!
How does that even happen!?

Guess i'd better get to it!
Lots waiting on me.....

Thanks for stopping by & have yourself a great day!

Abstract Impressions

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

Saturday morning we had to take Ryan to the doctor.
He's still having some issues from his recent sickness and I felt he needed to be checked out.
He will have to go have some tests done this week.
I think he was on the verge of being dehydrated as well.
Hard telling now what this week will bring.
I will keep you updated!

Today I have a quick card to share.
I needed some Thank You cards and created some using the Abstract Impressions stamp set.
It's my favorite of the Annual Catalog!

I like these 2 colors together.
Lovely Lipstick & Granny Apple Green.

Card Details:

Stamps: Abstract Impressions
Ink: Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White, Lovely Lipstick DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Squares Layering Framelits, Rhinestones, Granny Apple Green Ribbon, Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Bokeh Dots & Dandelion Wishes

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Hope your all having a nice weekend so far.
Calling for a wet weekend here which is fine by me.
I just need to pop out to grab some groceries later on.

Today I have a card to share made using another one of the Distinktive style stamp sets.
This one is called Bokeh Dots and it's on page 153 of the Stampin Up annual catalog.
I paired it up with Dandelion Wishes.

I stamped my Bokeh Dots with Balmy Blue ink.
Once that dried I heat embossed the dandelion wishes and sentiment with black embossing powder.
I added a black rhinestone to the center of the dandelion and a bow made with retired white organza ribbon.

Card Details:

Stamps: Bokeh Dots, Dandelion Wishes
Ink: Balmy Blue, Versamark
Cardstock: Balmy Blue, Basic Black, Whisper White
Accessories: Black Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Black Faceted Dot, 1/4 White Organza Ribbon, Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I've noticed with these Distinktive stamps that you cannot use a juicy inkpad or your image will turn out blotchy. I just took a paper towel and blotted my ink pad to get the excess off and inked up my stamp. Worked like a charm!

Stylish Christmas

Hello & Happy Friday!

Another very humid day is upon here in PA today.
I'm sure i'm not alone in saying that i'm so looking forward to Fall weather!

Stampin Up unveiled their Holiday Mini Catalog on August 1st to demonstrators only.
There is so many cool things in it!
It will be available to customers on September 5th.
This catalog has put me in a mood to create some Christmas cards.
I used the Stylish Christmas set that is in the annual catalog.

This set is a Distinktive set which means it has a more realistic look to it.
There are several of these in the annual catalog.

Card Details:

Stamps: Stylish Christmas
Ink: Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, Versamark
Cardstock: Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, Gold Foil Paper
Accessories: Gold EP, Heat Gun, Gold Metallic Enamel Dots (retired), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

So what do you think of this set?
I will say that it is one of my favorites and I like the look of how it stamps!
Just one piece of advice....do not use a very juicy inkpad with it.
The image won't stamp very nice.

Treehouse Adventures

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Today I made my way down to stamp!
Hoping now my mojo is coming back!

I got this set called Treehouse Adventures in my last Stampin Up order.
Not sure why I ordered it but thought it was cute for kids cards but I also thought it could be used for  a new home card or something related to that!
I suppose not many kids today have treehouses but when I was growing up our friends across the street had a treehouse. It was always a fun time and thankfully no one ever fell out of the tree!

So my card today uses the Treehouse Adventures stamp set.
There are no framelits to this set but the greens of the trees coordinate with the Up & Away Thinlits.

I went alittle crazy with the popped up parts of the tree but all in all it was fun to put together!

Card Details:

Stamps: Treehouse Adventures
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Poppy Parade
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White, Crumb Cake DSP
Accessories: Up & Away Thinlits, Banner Punch, Dimensionals, Mini Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

**********************************************************
My thoughts today.....

I feel like Charlie Brown!
We have had heat & high humidity for the last few weeks.
I am so ready for a break from running my AC. It messes horribly with my sinuses.
Could we just have a nice week with sunny & 70's? Please?

That is all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & stay cool!

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope your all doing well!
Sorry for the lack of posts recently.
It seems my mojo went on vacation without me!

Today I made myself go down to my stamp table and create something.
I started with this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge.
Here is this week's sketch and my card samples.

Sympathy cards are no fun to make but I really did enjoy using the Jars of Love stamp set to create this pretty card. I used summer colors...Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay & Granny Apple Green.

Card Details:

Stamps: Jars of Love, Flourishing Phrases
Ink: Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Granny Apple Green
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Accessories: Everyday Jar Framelits, Bermuda Bay Striped Ribbon, Rhinestones, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This week's sketch was really easy and i'm glad I had a starting point to help me get back to stamping!
