Gone Fishin' Retirement

 Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

We made it thru Debby here in PA but not without lots of flooding issues.
Thankfully, we were ok!
This morning Shawn & Kelsey are out running some errands. I am just putzing around and maybe will get to do some stamping later. Thursday & Friday I did so some crafting while it rained. I went thru my card rack to see what needed some refills. Masculine Retirement was at the top of the list so I pulled out all kinds of supplies and created this one...

Card Details:

Stamps: Best Catch (retired), Many Mates (retired)
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Basic White, Boho Blue, Basic Grey (Granola)
Accessories: Catch of the Day Thinlits Dies, Circle Layering Framelits (retired), Tailor Made Tags Dies, Twisted Rope 3D EF (retired), Boho Blue In Color Twine, Boho Blue In Color Enamel Dots (retired), Dimensionals, Stampin Seal Adhesive

This was so much fun to create and I love the variety of stuff!

Gone Fishin...

 Hello & Happy Tuesday, Everyone!

Hope you all had a sweet Valentine's Day!
Shawn & I went out to dinner last evening.....1st time we've ever gone out for Valentine's Day!
The place was packed and our dinner was very good! We got 2 Chocolate Covered Strawberries for dessert. They were dipped in Dark Chocolate which neither of us cared for but those strawberries were sweet & juicy!
It was a nice evening out but doubt we would do it again.

As I worked last week on my card lady's order she called in a panic and asking if I had any Retirement cards on hand that she could buy. I only had some for a woman since they had flowers on. She needed one for a man that loved to go fishing. I whipped one up for her!

Card Details:

Stamps: DRS Designs (fish), Gone Fishin (AMuse), Congrats (retired SAB 09)
Ink: Always Artichoke (retired)
Cardstock: Always Artichoke (retired), Very Vanilla, Basic Grey Archaic
Accessories: Square Layering Framelits (retired), Stitched Shapes Framelits (retired), Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Always Artichoke Enamel Dots (retired), Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

My card lady was thrilled with this and especially loved the sayings on it!
I aim to please! LOL

Well, that is all for today! I am going to take down my Valentine's Day decorations (since they've been up since New Year's Day) and start getting St Patrick's Day things out. Tomorrow I hope to get back to my stamp table to play before I get another card order! LOL My card lady keeps me busy!

Happy 50th Birthday

 Hello & Happy Wednesday!

I have been so busy that it is making the week fly by!
I have spent the last few days working on card kits for my next Stamp Day w Friends get together. We don't have a date picked out yet but I wanted to get my kits ready awhile!

Today I have a Happy Birthday card that I made at the request of my card lady. She needs it for a special family friend that is turning 50 at the end of the this month.

I pulled out some Basic Grey Granola paper for this one as well as my retired Family Party stamp set. I had just ordered this set last April when the following month it went on the retired list! I'm still happy that I was able to get to because it will help specialize certain cards. Since this one is for a man I also pulled out the feather die from the Nature's Thoughts Dies that coordinates with the Positive Thoughts stamp set. I think everything worked well together!

Card Details:

Stamps: Family Party (retired)
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Night of Navy, Basic Grey Granola
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Nature's Thoughts Dies, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I have a ziplock bag that has only scraps of this Granola patterned paper in and that is what I pulled out to use on my card! I'm not sure if Basic Grey is still even around but I always loved their prints & patterns in each collection!

5th Card for Bella

Hello & Happy Thursday!

It's trash day here and with all the heavy rain and crazy winds I had to run out and fetch my cans!
Yep, we are having another gloom & doom day!

I have the last card to share today that I made for my card lady.
She requested a variety pack of cards for a little girl named Bella.
For this card I pulled out a Whipper Snapper doggie stamp.

I colored my dog with Stampin Blends then took my Color Lifter over it so soften it a bit.
The doily border that is under the dog panel is from Stampin Up from a few years ago.
I'm not even sure the name of it but it has an adhesive on the backside which stuck very well.
I'm sure I must have grabbed it off the Clearance Rack sometime.

Card Details:

Stamps: Whipper Snapper
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Basic Grey- Sugared
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Doily Border (retired), Old Olive Ribbon (retired), Blackberry Bliss Faceted Dots (retired), Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

It's always fun to pull out the old stash and use it up!
I loved Basic Grey papers back in the day!
Is Basic Grey still around?

My thoughts today...

That is the most perfect picture for today!
A blustery, heavy rain and it's the last day of April.
I hope May brings us more sunshine and warmer temps!

That's all for now!

Pretty Butterfly

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope your week is going well!

Yesterday I spent all day picking at that 1000 piece puzzle!
I'm about half way thru it and is it ever hard!
I will share a picture of it when it's completed.

I woke up this morning to sunshine but now the clouds are rolling in.
It sure would be nice to have a week of nice sunshine and warm temps!

So today I am sharing card #4 that I made for my card lady that requested the cards for a little girl.

I went searching thru all kinds of papers and pulled out this piece of Basic Grey paper and went to work!

At one point I took all my sheets of Basic Grey and cut them down to 6 x 6 sheets and placed them into a zippy bag and labeled them.
This sheet is from the Basic Grey Urban Praire and I covered my Thick Whisper White cardbase with it.
I love the pretty colors and pulled out the Bermuda Bay color within the butterflies.
I diecut a butterfly from the retired Bold Butterfly Framelits.
I added some Rhinestones and adhered it to my cardbase and called it done.

Card Details:

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Basic Grey Urban Praire
Accessories: Bold Butterfly Framelits (retired), Champagne Rhinestones, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I think this one is my favorite!

Whipper Snapper Dog

Hello & Happy Friday!

It was another rainy, dreary day here in south central Pennsylvania.
I'm so tired of the doom & gloom of these rainy days.
I need lots of sunshine in my life to keep me stepping!

My post is late today as I thought I had already had this post ready to go live this morning.
I took it easy today after a week of not feeling well.
I slept in this morning and just tinkered around the rest of the day.
Sometimes ya just need to take it easy.
I had a long talk on the phone this afternoon with my dear friend Deb which was the highlight of my day! I threw some chicken pies in the oven for supper and finally jumped in the shower only to put pj's right back on! Yes, it's that kind of day!

I worked this week on a card order and one of the requests was a couple cards made for a child with no sentiments on. I'm fine with making cards for kids but without sentiments just throws me off.
This is one I created...

This card uses a Whipper Snapper stamp that I have had in my collection for many years.
The paper is Basic Grey Max & Whiskers.

Card Details:

Stamps: Whipper Snapper
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Basic Grey Max & Whiskers
Accessories: Pumpkin Pie Enamel Dots, Bermuda Bay 1/4 Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I hope this works for my card lady.
I always struggle with a card with no saying on it.
I need to get 4 more made for her before I deliver these.
Ughh, the struggle is real!

I hope that made you laugh!

Dog Sympathy

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Yesterday turned out to be a nice warm sunny day once the rain, clouds & fog moved on!
I loved having the afternoon/evening sunshine coming thru my living room windows!
I got my living room all painted now with a fresh coat of paint!
I'm not sure if today I am going to start the hallway or wait until Friday.
My hubby went to Atlanta on Monday for a Maintenance Manager's Seminar and will be flying home this afternoon. Yippeee!
He said since his plane landed in Atlanta that it has done nothing but rain & storm.
I told him NOT to bring it home with him!!! LOL

So today I have a card to share that I made recently to fill my card rack.
I sold a bunch of sympathy cards for a dog back before Christmas and I needed to make more.
I no sooner got this card made and my friend Deb needed one.

Losing a beloved pet has to be one of the worst things in life.
They love us unconditionally and even though they are no longer living in pain, the separation from them is hard. In May it will be 7 years since we lost Fluffy and not a day goes by that I do not think of her. She had a great life and gave so much love to all of us and that is what brings me comfort.

Card Details:

Stamps: DRS Designs
Ink: Bermuda Bay
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Wags & Whiskers - Basic Grey
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Dog Prints EF - Darice, Dog Paw Brad, Bermuda Bay Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dot, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I sure wish I could find more of this Basic Grey paper!
I'm not even sure where I picked this up at or even how long ago but it makes for great pet cards!

Masculine Retirement

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday and today turned out to be such warm days for February standards.
Mid 60's...yes, please!
We had some rain this morning and more moving in for this evening but that is so much better than snow, right?

I have another retirement card to share that I made for my card rack using pretty much the same things I used on the last card.

Take a look...

This card uses a line from Basic Grey called Archaic.
Another favorite of mine because of the masculine colors.

Card Details:

Stamps: Wild About Flowers (sentiment), DRS Designs
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Always Artichoke, Basic Grey Archaic
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Square Layering Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Always Artichoke Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I enjoy making masculine cards if I have the right stamps!
This one is headed to my card rack...

Gone Fishin'

Hello & Happy Saturday!!!

Yesterday I was at my stamp table all day since Kelsey bailed on me.
It's all good though!
She was asked to work on her day off so why not, she can make a few extra bucks!

I had stuff all over my stamp table but I enjoyed making cards for my card rack!
Retirement cards was one slot that was empty and I needed to remedy that!

I pulled out some Basic Grey Granola Paper that I have a few sheets/pieces left.
This was always a favorite of mine from Basic Grey.
I thought it went well with my fish image.
The sentiment on the front is from a retired set called Beach Happy.
It, too, worked well for my retirement card.

Card Details:

Stamps: Fish- DRS Designs, Beach Happy (retired)
Inside: Sentiment from Inky Antics, Fish from Fly Fishin (retired)
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Sahara Sand, Basic Grey Granola
Accessories: Hammered Metal EF, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Silver Metallic Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I was pretty happy with this card when it was finished.
I still need to make a few more on another day!

Fall Anniversary

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

It's the first day of October and it's going to feel like summer!
Tomorrow it's to be another 90 degree day!
I sure hope this will be it as i'd really like to turn my ac off for good!

Since we are into the Fall season my customer asked for 2 Fall Anniversary cards.
This is the first one I created for her...

I pulled out some Basic Grey Mellow paper and used 2 different pieces of scraps that I had left.
I diecut a beautiful leaf from the Seasonal Layers Thinlit Dies and popped it up from behind the the sentiment panel. I really like the pop of Pumpkin Pie!

Card Details:

Stamps: All Year Cheer 3 (retired)
Ink: Early Espresso
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Grey Mellow
Accessories: Oval Layering Framelits, Seasonal Layer Thinlits, Pumpkin Pie Enamel Dot, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Another card my customer was happy with!

It's Halloween!

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope your week is going well!

Sorry I have been absent from the blog...
I assure you that i've been busy in my stamp room the last day or so working on Halloween projects for my next Stamp Day w Friends!
I invited all my stamp girls over on World Cardmaking Day to have some spooky fun!
I have less than a month to get things wrapped up!

Today I have a neat little card to share that I whipped up for Happy Boo Day!
I've been going thru scraps of Halloween papers and throwing some away that is smaller than one could ever use up. In that folder I found a few scraps of the Basic Grey Eeerie Paper from 2009.
It's 10 years old already! Time to use it up!

I was hoping I had more of the bat paper left but it's pieces that are about 3x3 or less.
The circle piece was just a bit bigger than I needed so I took a 2 inch circle punch and made it smaller to fit the other circle pieces that were in my stash.

The stamps are new Stampin Up sets called The Raven and Wonderfully Wicked.

Card Details:

Stamps: The Raven, Wonderfully Wicked
Ink: Basic Black (retired)
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black, Basic Grey- Eeerrie (retired)
Accessories: Chalk Talk Framelits (retired), Circle Layering Framelits, Circle Punches, Perfect Plum 3/8 Taffeta Ribbon (retired), Rhinestones, Glue Dot, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I know it's hard to see but my Pumpkin Pie cardbase has bats stamped all over.
Just a few are peeking out....

My thoughts today....

Amen on that one!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Illuminated Christmas

Hello & Happy Friday!

The weekend is upon us again!
I'm having a rough start to the long holiday weekend after my hubby was at work until very late last night. It was well after midnight until our heads hit the pillow.
I hate days like that because they just throw me off schedule.
And then I was up shortly after 6 this morning which makes for a very long day!
No doubt i'll be asleep before 7 tonight!

Today I am going to make this post short & sweet.
I pulled out another retired stamp set and used some pretty old Basic Grey paper called Eskimo Kisses.

I was digging thru a bunch of Basic Grey papers and found these couple scraps and I made another pack of cards around the colors in the paper.

Card Details:

Stamps: Illuminated Christmas (retired), Christmas Pines (sentiment, retired)
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Whisper White, Basic Grey- Eskimo Kisses
Accessories: Holly EF (retired), Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Rhinestones, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This pack is also very mail friendly!
Basic Grey has some really nice patterned papers!
I have several packs that I need to go thru and start using.
Is Basic Grey still around? Can't say I have seen any....

**********************************************************
My thoughts today...

That's for sure!
I'm on my 2nd cup!
Hope the caffeine soon kicks in!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Wilderness Awaits

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Up and at it a bit early this morning!
My hubby has to work today....not sure how long but it definitely was enough to mess up any plans that we had to get out on our bikes & ride.
Last evening we headed out to Lake Redman for a quick walk. Made it back to our car just as it started to get dark. Seen lots of deer on the trail.

So today I have a quick card to share that I made for an outdoor dog loving guy!

I pulled out the Wilderness Awaits stamp set for this one. I really like that set with the different wildlife in it.. My papers are from Max & Whiskers collection from Basic Grey that have been in my stash quite awhile. The teal striped piece is American Crafts and I added some Early Espresso Baker's Twine.

Happy Birthday Card:

Stamps: Wilderness Awaits, Designer Tee ( SAB '17)
Ink: Early Espresso
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Whisper White, Max & Whiskers- Basic Grey, Stripe- American Crafts
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Die- Lil Inkers, Classic Label Punch, Early Espresso Baker's Twine, 2 Sided Tape

This card was made at the request of my customer for as she said....and outdoorsy kind of guy who loves dogs! I hope I nailed it with this dog image and fun collection of papers!
