Tropical Chic

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Hope your week is going well.
My husband started his new job this week and all seems to be going well.
It's kinda quiet without him being here but as you can see I have been able to get crafting time in again! Love him dearly but I have SO missed my crafting time!

Today I checked out the Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge and played along!
I am trying to get back into it so hopefully this is a good start!

Here is the sketch & my sample...

I started out by pulling out this awesome stamp set called Tropical Chic.
It came out last year along with the coordinating Thinlits & DSP.
I used it a good bit last summer then it seemed to fall off my radar until today!
I told you I seem to be dreaming about the beach and anything tropical the last few weeks! LOL

My cardbase was cut at 4 1/4 x 11 and scored at 5 1/2.
I added my panel of Tropical Escape DSP and a small strip down the one side. Next I stamped my palm image and the blossom and diecut them. I used a Stitched Oval and stamped my sentiment in Shaded Spruce (LOVE THIS COLOR!) and layered it onto a Shaded Spruce Scalloped Oval.
I added my diecut palm & blossom with Dimensionals onto the Oval sentiment panel.
I added the little flagged strip to the right side and all the little Granny Apple Green Glittered Enamel Dots and finished this up!

Card Details:

Stamps: Tropical Chic
Ink: Shaded Spruce, Blushing Bride, Granny Apple Green
Cardstock: Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, Whisper White, Tropical Escape DSP (retired)
Accessories: Tropical Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Glittered Enamel Dots, Banner Punch (retired), Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Always fun to play along with the Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge!
Check them out and play along!

I am pretty happy with my tropical feeling card!
Hope you like it!

Tropical Chic Notebooks

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Hope your all enjoying your weekend!

I am soon going to be heading out to shop for a new wash machine!
Mine kicked the bucket yesterday but I had a feeling it was going to happen!
On a good note though we have some really nice weather this weekend!
Yesterday was a bit on the humid side but as the day went on the humidity was leaving us.
We actually had windows open to sleep with the fan on last night and I slept so good!
This is the kind of weather you wish you could bottle up because tomorrow it will all change back to humid and more rain/storm chances.

So before it gets busy here I want to share 2 little composition notebooks that I re-covered.
Sometimes I just love making things that aren't cards.

Project Details:

Stamps: Tropical Chic, Flourishing Phrases
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce. Blushing Bride
Cardstock: Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride, Shaded Spruce, Whisper White, Tropical Escapes DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Tropical Thinlits, Granny Apple Green Glittered Enamel Dots, Blushing Bride Enamel Dots, Granny Apple Green Ribbon, Shaded Spruce Metallic Ribbon, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I will use these as little Thank You gifts for my next couple of orders.
People like having these little notebooks to carry in their purses to jot down quick notes and I love to make them!

Tropical Chic Anniversary Card

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Hope everyone made it thru the storms that came thru on the east coast last evening!
We have had SO much rain since Saturday. I'm not sure on totals but it was alot!
This morning, many roads in my area were once again under water and closed.
We woke up this morning to sunshine & blue skies!
We need it to help dry everything out!

So today I have a card to share that has a tropical feel to it...just like our weather!
This card was made for a card order for a couple that will be celebrating their 28th wedding anniversary in September.
Take a look....

This was a fun card to put together!
The Tropical Chic bundle can create many different cards for different occasions.
I could see this being used for a Christmas card as well!
The couple receiving this card is going on a cruise so I thought the tropical feel to it would be a great way to celebrate their anniversary!

Card Details:

Stamps: Tropical Chic, Memorable Moments (retired)
Ink: Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride
Cardstock: Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Tropical Escape DSP

Double Easel Card

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Today I want to share a card that I made with my stamp friends Friday night.
I watched a tutorial by Patty Bennett on how to create this card.
It is a Double Easel Card.

If your interested in making this here is Patty's tutorial.

After watching her video I took DSP and cardstock to match and made the card.
The one I am showing today was my sample card.
(I still have my card to share another day)
Each of the girls made cards that are completely different from my sample.
I wish I would have taken pictures of the girls cards!
They were awesome!

Card Details:

Stamps: Picture Perfect Birthday, Tropical Chic
Ink: Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride
Cardstock: Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Tropical Escape DSP
Accessories: Tropical Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Granny Apple Green Glittered Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I thought this card was so cool and it matched the bags I made them!
I will be making more of this style card!
So much fun!

My thoughts today.....

I heard we are to get in the 90's today!
Yea, not my favorite kind of weather so I will be staying put inside.
It's my day of housework anyways.....BLAH!
Hope your day is more exciting!

Thanks for stopping by & stay cool!

Tropical Chic Gift Bags

Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

Up bright & early this morning since my hubby has to work.
It's a beautiful morning...not too hot or humid out yet!

Last evening was my stamp get together with friends!
I always enjoy our stamping time and all the chit chatting we do!
If you remember, last month I started decorating small gift bags for them to take their cards home in.
This is my July Bags that I whipped up....take a look!

I always start out by making a tag and then just building on the tag.
I don't attach it to my bag with twine or ribbon. I attach it with 4 Dimensionals on the back so it does not fall off and it will not flop around on the bags. This really seems to work and the girls love having the decorated bag to carry their artwork home in!
For this bag I used a new bundle in the catalog called Tropical Chic.
At first it did not grab my attention but the more I saw samples of it the more I loved it.
I told you I am a sample girl.....alot of sets never grab my attention until I see things done with it.
I know.....i'm always late to the party! LOL

Project Details:

Stamps: Tropical Chic, sentiment from Abstract Impressions
Ink: Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride
Cardstock: Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, Whisper White, Tropical Escape DSP
Accessories: Tropical Thinlits, Scallop Tag Topper Punch, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Granny Apple Green Ribbon, Granny Apple Green Glittered Enamel Dots, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

On the ferns, I inked my stamp in Granny Apple Green then took a sponge dauber & the Shaded Spruce ink pad and sponge daubed that ink onto the bottoms of each of the stamps. Once I pounced ink on the rubber, I huffed to re-moisten the stamp and stamped on the cardstock. That is what gives the ferns the 2 toned look! My flower is just stamped in Blushing Bride to match the color in the DSP.

My friends really like the bags, so as long as time allows I will try to make them before each get together! Hope you liked these as much as I enjoyed making them!

That's all for now!
