Seasonal Sprays Sympathy

Good Morning & Happy Monday, Friends!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
Yesterday turned out to be rainy & dreary out so I spent most of the day at my stamp table playing with some Christmas cards! Yep, I know, way to early to be thinking of Christmas but I went to my stamp table thinking...what am I gonna make today?! I seen a Christmas card that inspired me so that was the route I took! LOL

So, I'm not sharing a Christmas card today but I am sharing a Sympathy card that I was inspired by from a very old (2000-2001) Stampin Up Annual Catalog. I pulled out the lovely (retired) Seasonal Sprays wood mounted stamp set and got busy!

Card Details:

Stamps: Seasonal Sprays (retired), Teeny Tiny Wishes (retired), Weathered Background Stamp (retired)
Ink: Night of Navy, Bordering Blue (retired)
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Bordering Blue (retired), Basic White, Gold Foil Paper
Accessories: Countryside Corners Dies (retired), Stitched Rectangle Framelits (retired), Something Fancy Dies (retired), Gold Trim, Pressed Flowers Gold Dots, Glue Dots, Stampin Seal Adhesive

I love casing a card and changing things up to make it my own. I get so easily inspired by the catalog samples so always make sure to use your catalogs as a source of inspiration! I was also thrilled that I still have a good bit of Bordering Blue cardstock left & a very inky ink pad! It was a great day of stamping!

This card has been added to my bin of cards that I am working on. It's not often I have time for card making for myself but when I do I try to get cards made that I know are good sellers. I also like to take a variety of different cards and place them in a cello bag with envelopes and gift them to people. Audrey loves when I do that for her as a little Thank You.

Anyways, I am back to my stamp table today for some inky fun!
I really need to get working on July 4th cards since that will be here before we know it!

Peaceful Moments HB

Hello & Happy Thursday!

This week seems like it's really flying by!
Today I have another card to share that was made at my Stamp Day w/ Friends get together last Saturday. We made 4 birthday cards and tomorrow I will share the last one so be sure to stop back!

At my Stamp Day w/ Friends events we usually make a variety of cards using new products as well as retired. My friends have retired products just like I do so I try to incorporate them into my projects. I always say, use what you have!

My collection of stamps range from very old to new. Over the years I have bought many of the older Stampin Up! stamps from Ebay and still use them for my card orders or my Stamp Day events. I do like that now most stamp sets come with a matching die which makes life much easier. I am not much of a fussy cutter because my hands bother me so the dies are wonderful!
Either way, when you come to my Stamp Day w/ Friends event you never know what we are gonna use and everyone seems happy with that!

This card uses a bit of both old & new.
The old being my background stamp. It is called Weathered and I tend to reach for this one quite a bit! Stampin Up! recently had a background stamp out that was almost like this one called Crackle Paint and I did not get it since these 2 background stamps were similar.
The new being a stamp set called Peaceful Moments. It came out in the January -July Mini Catalog and thankfully it carried over into the new Annual Catalog! I love the font in this set!

Over the last few years I try to be a bit more selective of what I order and not just because I need it.
I already have so many wonderful stamps in my collection that I do try to use so I don't want to invest in something that will sit and collect dust.

Card Details:

Stamps: Peaceful Moments, Weather Background (retired)
Ink: Petal Pink, Mossy Meadow
Cardstock: Petal Pink, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, Magnolia Lane DSP (retired)
Accessories: Circle Layering Framelits,Champagne Rhinestones,  Petal Pink/Champagne Satin Ribbon (retired), Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

The girls loved how quick & easy this one came together.
And it mails flat, too!
Yay! I am trying getting better about that!

Fab Friday Challenge ~ Best Catch

Hello & Happy Friday!

The weekend is finally here!
I'm sure my husband is happy about that since he's been working since last Sunday!

Today I have a card to share that I made for the Fab Friday Challenge.
Super easy sketch!

I pulled out my Best Catch Bundle to create this card.
I will be in need of a masculine birthday card come July for a family friend who loves to fish!

Card Details:

Stamps: Best Catch, Weathered Background (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Cajun Craze, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Thick Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze
Accessories: Be Mine Stitched Framelits, Catch of the Day Framelits, Cajun Craze Enamel Dots (retired), Clear Wink of Stella, Dimensionals , Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

My fish was colored with the Stampin Blends then cut out with the coordinating die.
I just love that fish!
I added some Wink of Stella on it to make it look wet.

This sketch was perfect for what I needed to make!
Hope you like it!

Best Catch

Hello & Happy Sunday!

We are having another dreary, rainy weekend here in PA!
It makes me just want to stay in bed with the blankets over my head!

Yesterday was my Stamp Day w Friends!
We made a few cards but mostly gabbed the entire time....4 hours to be exact!
They are such great friends to me!
And they use to live on either side of me as my neighbors from my old neighborhood.

Anyways, today I am going to share 1 of the cards we made using the Best Catch set from the Occasions Mini Catalog.

The Cajun Craze piece was stamped with my retired Weathered Background stamp from many years ago. It looks so much like the Crackle Paint Background stamp that is out now. I love pulling out old things and mixing it with new!
Best Catch is a new bundle available until the end of May.
The Catch of the Day Thinlits are amazing....I really like this bundle!
So, the die that cut out the fish....well it cuts the fins as well and they stick out!
I know it doesn't take much to entertain me but that just gives the fish a WOW factor!

Card Details:

Stamps: Best Catch, Perennial Birthday, Weathered Background Stamp (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Cajun Craze, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Thick Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Catch of the Day Thinlits, Wink of Stella, Old Olive Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

My friends love making masculine cards so I promise you will be seeing alot more of this fish!
Hehe! I always enjoy our stamp get together's and look forward to the next one!

Let It Ride

Good Morning & Happy Thursday!

Another rainy day here again!

I will most likely head down to my stamp room and do some fun stamping for myself!

I have a card to share that I made yesterday for a very dear friend that I have known since Kindergarten. She moved away right before 5th grade if I remember correctly.
Fast forward to 2009 and she found me on Facebook and we've been friends on there ever since.

She loves dogs & horses!
She boards horses and takes care of them each & everyday!
Sadly, she lost her husband a few years ago and has been remarkable at healing her heart.
She has quite a few dogs that she dearly loves and that makes her world go round!
She also watches over her elderly mother and her mother's sick dog whom is going thru cancer treatments.
She is just a remarkable person especially for all she's been thru in life.
I made this card to send her in the hopes it will make her smile!
#makeacardsendacard

When I seen the Let It Ride stamp set in our Occasions Mini Catalog I knew I had to get it and make some cards for her. I even sent a catalog to her because she is VERY crafty and inquired about making some cards to sell at a local tack shop she worked at.
She's been SO busy with her crew of dogs, horses and taking care of the sick puppy that I know it's the last thing on her mind.
I wanted her to know someone was thinking of her and just how awesome she is!

Card Details:

Stamps: Let It Ride, Weathered Background Stamp (retired)
Ink: Cajun Craze, Mossy Meadow
Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake, Mossy Meadow, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Corrugated Heart Elements, Linen Thread, Glue Dot, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I really love how this one turned out!
What do you think?
