Sunflowers 3D EF Technique

 Hello & Happy Wednesday, Friends!

Today I have a cool card to share with you that I made over the weekend after watching several video's on You Tube on how to do this technique. It is called Wood Burning but your not actually burning anything. You just drag your ink pad over a debossed image and it gives it that wood burnt look. Once you let that dry you color in your image with Sponge Daubers or Blending Brushes. It turns out so cool looking!

Card Details:

Stamps: Party Pants (retired SAB 2016)
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Pumpkin Pie, Crushed Curry, Garden Green
Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Sunflowers 3D EF, Stylish Shapes Dies, Circle Layering Framelits (retired), Pastel Adhesive Backed Sequins, Sponge Daubers, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This worked really well on this embossing folder because the images are very deep. I will be trying to again with another embossing folder! It's so fun and the WOW effect you get when it's finished.

Waves of Inspiration

Good Morning & Happy Fri-YAY, Friends!

We are starting off the weekend on a hot & humid note! I don't know about you but I am ready for some cooler weather! I know it won't be too much longer as the start of Fall is alittle over a month away.

Yesterday I had my Stamp Day w/ Friends get together!
It's always nice to see my friends, chat and make some cards together.
Today's card is one that we made using the retired Waves of Inspiration bundle from 2022. I always try to use this set and get a summertime card made. Deb loves anything beachy so this one was right up her alley!

Card Details:

Stamps: Waves of Inspiration (retired)
Ink: Pacific Point (retired), Balmy Blue, Pecan Pie
Cardstock: Pacific Point (retired), Basic White, Waves of the Ocean DSP (retired)
Accessories: Waves Dies (retired), Circle Layering Framelits (retired), Snowflake Splendor Ribbon (retired), Waves Rhinestones (retired), Sponge Dauber, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I still have a good bit of this paper left but i'm slowly working to get it used up.
Maybe next summer I will try harder to get more cards made with it. The patterns and colors are so pretty!

I know most everything on this card is retired but when the girls come over to make cards they do not mind that I use things that are long gone. They do not buy the stamps & papers like my Stampin Up! customers do. They just love to get together to create and have some fun adult socialization and that works for me!

Card #1 Pink Waves

 Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

Today is my Stamp Day w/ Friends get together!
The card I am sharing is one that we will make today. It uses the Waves of Inspiration Bundle. The theme for my Stamp Day is all things related to the Beach/Ocean!

I bet your wondering where I came up with the pink wave?
When this suite of products came out over a year ago it had a package of DSP that had this particular print in it. I went looking on the back on the pack for the colors related to the paper and found that Petal Pink & Calypso Coral were in it. I stamped my wave in Petal Pink ink and added some Calypso Coral ink to my rubber with a Sponge Dauber. And that is how my pink wave came to be. I love the softness of the colors and left the paper and the stamps do all the work on this one. I hope the girls will like this!

Card Details:

Stamps: Waves of Inspiration, Charming Sentiments (inside)
Ink: Petal Pink, Calypso Coral
Cardstock: Petal Pink, Basic White, Waves of the Ocean DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Framelits (retired), Stylish Shapes Dies, Sponge Daubers, Gold Swirls (retired), Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I better get ready...busy day ahead!

My thoughts today...

The beach particularly Ocean City, MD will always hold a special place in my heart. I went there as a little girl with my family and feel like every summer that was my home. I have lots of fond memories from there. Long gone are the days we spent there with my parents, my brothers, my husband and my kids. Crabbing, fishing, boat rides, arcades and walking the boardwalk. Some of the best times of my life. I haven't been there in several years and one day I hope to go back.

That is all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Retiring Day #15

 Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Yesterday turned out to be a beautiful day!
I got my work done first thing in the morning and then Bailee and I sat outside on the glider all afternoon. She loves laying on the glider watching the birds.
Can't imaging what she'd do if a squirrel would jump in her yard! LOL
I'm looking forward to another nice day today with temps in the 70's and lots of sunshine!

I've got card #15 to share that I made with a retiring Stampin Up! stamp set.
This is from Sweet As A Peach suite on page 61 of the annual catalog.

This suite was only available since May of 2021 and i'm sad that it's leaving us.
Love the Sweet As A Peach stamp set and it's coordinating Peach Dies.
I've made lots of cards with this set especially for my card lady!
The You're A Peach DSP will be retiring too!
Thankfully, I have a full unopened pack to use!

Card Details:

Stamps: Sweet As A Peach
Ink: Pale Papaya, Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Pale Papaya, Basic White, You're A Peach DSP
Accessories: Circle Layering Framelits, Peach Dies, Stitched Rectangle Framelits, White Glittered Ribbon, Iridescent Rhinestones, Glue Dots, Sponge Daubers, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

With making all these cards to showcase the retiring stamps, I am building up my stash since I haven't had any stamp classes this year. Guess that's a good thing!

Gorgeous Leaves

 Hello & Happy Thursday!

Today I have a set of Fall Anniversary cards to share that my card lady requested on her next order. I pulled out my Gorgeous Leaves stamp set and a piece of the In Good Taste DSP and got started.

I started with a cardbase of Bumble Bee cardstock then added a layer of this pretty woodgrain DSP. Next I diecut some Very Vanilla cardstock with the Stitched Rectangle Framelits and then took my leaves and inked them with Bumble Bee ink but before I stamped them I took my Sponge Dauber and inked it up with Cajun Craze ink and dabbed it onto my leaf stamps and then stamped it onto my Very Vanilla cardstock. I love the look of this technique as it makes it look like real leaves! Once my leaves are done I stamped my sentiment from the retired Many Mates stamp set in Cajun Craze ink. Next I added a layer of Bumble Bee cardstock that I diecut with the Scalloped Contour Dies. Once I had all that done I finished up my cards with a Bumble Bee Gingham Ribbon bow and a couple of Champagne Rhinestones.

I hope that she will like these!

Card Details:

Stamps: Many Mates (retired), Gorgeous Leaves
Ink: Bumble Bee, Cajun Craze
Cardstock: Bumble Bee, Very Vanilla, In Good Taste DSP
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Scalloped Contour Dies, Bumble Bee Gingham Ribbon, Champagne Rhinestones, Glue Dots, Sponge Daubers, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

It's Halloween!

 Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
It sure got warm & muggy yesterday!
I had to break down and turn my AC back on as the girls were hot.
All in all it was a nice but busy weekend.
Shawn is off again today so I am going to make this a quick update!

Today I have card #2 to share from my World Card Making Day.
This card uses the Frightfully Cute stamp set and a retired set, The Raven.

Card Details:

Stamps: Frightfully Cute, The Raven (retired)
Ink: Basic Black Archival (retired), Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie
Cardstock: Basic Black, Mango Melody, Basic White, Toil & Trouble DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Scalloped Contour Dies, Rhinestones, Sponge Dauber, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

The inside says "Celebrate if you dare"!

We started with a cardbase of Basic Black then a layer of Mango Melody that was diecut with the Scallop Contour Dies. Next we adhered a layer of DSP from the retired Toil & Trouble DSP that was diecut with the Stitched Rectangle Framelits. Then a layer of Basic White that was diecut with the Scallop Contour Dies.
I love that they have so many different sizes and styles of scallops!
We stamped our moon from the Frightfully Cute stamp set in Mango Melody then used a Sponge Dauber dabbing Pumpkin Pie ink on our stamp to give it a 2 toned look. Then we stamped our witch in Basic Black Archival ink. I know this ink is retired but I like use this ink since it's very bold and gives a nice image.
Then we stamped our sentiment and finished up with the rhinestones for sparkle!
Miss Emily loves her rhinestones!

Everything lays flat on this one for easy mailing!

Coffin Boxes For Halloween

Hello & Happy Saturday!

It's a beautiful sunny morning here in south central PA but it's not going to stay sunny for long as rain is making it's way into our area later today!
My hubby has a list of outside work to get finished up before the rain gets here.
He needs to get the mowers put away as well as my rocking chairs off the front porch.
I will be straightening up the storage room and making room for the rocking chairs then we are going to relax and watch some movies later this evening. Hope we can find some good Halloween movies!

So, before my day gets busy I wanted to show you another cool Halloween treat!
This year Stampin Up offered these really cool coffin boxes!
They come 12 to a pack and all you need to do is fold them on the creases and glue.
I took some Silver Encore ink and sponged it on the outside of the boxes and left to sit to dry a day or two before I decorated the them.

These hold a good bit of candy!
I put a Kit Kat, a Reese's Peanut Butter Pumpkin and a handful of Hershey Kisses in them.
I gave them to my stamp girls at my World Cardmaking Day and they loved them!

Project Details:

Stamps: Spooktacular Bash
Ink: Memento Black, Silver Encore Pad, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Silver Foil Paper
Accessories: Coffin Boxes, Ornate Frames Dies, Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon, Sponge, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

These are so cool and what a fun way to present some yummy treats for Halloween!

Seasonal Happy Birthday

Hello & Happy Monday!

What a weekend!
Yesterday was just a yukky rainy day!
Did not get much relaxing done as Kelsey came over for the day.

Today I have a really pretty Fall birthday card to show.
I said last week that I have a bunch of birthday's coming up in the next few weeks that I wanted to get made and out of the way before the craziness of the holidays come.
This is another one I made...

To start off, I was inspired by a card my friend, Vicki Burdick, made.
She embossed her leaves with Winter White Embossing Powder then watercolored her leaves.
I am not much of a watercolor girl so I took a piece of Whisper White and used Sponge Daubers to put down Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Terracotta Tile inks to get a colorful panel. Then I embossed my leaves with Winter White Embossing Powder and die cut my leaves out. I got 3 leaves from a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 piece of Whisper White cardstock.
I used some Terracotta Tile DSP and a piece of the matching ribbon.
I also used some Braided Trim to tie a bow. I took the bone folder over the tails of my bow and they curled! I loved the look!

Card Details:

Stamps: Perennial Birthday, Gather Together
Ink: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Terracotta Tile, Versamark
Cardstock: Terracotta Tile, Whisper White, Terracotta Tile DSP
Accessories: Gathered Leaves Dies, Stitched Nested Dies, Winter White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Sponges, Terracotta Tile Scalloped Linen Ribbon, Braided Trim, White Pearls, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I also added some White Pearls on 2 of the corners for interest.
I always reach for the rhinestones and forget I have pearls.
Honestly, the pearls look more elegant on this than rhinestones and i'm happy with it!

Healing Hugs

Good Morning & Happy Thursday!

Yesterday was just a dark & dreary day here in PA.
It was almost dark with those heavy dark clouds and we had hardly no rain but that humidity really jumped up. I worked most of the day in my stamp room. I replaced the bags that hold my cards on my card rack with cello bags and labeled each one with the Label Maker. It makes it much nicer now to look for specific cards.

I did create a card yesterday with my NEW Healing Hugs set.
It arrived on Monday and I was dying to make a card with it.
I seen a video that Patty Bennett did that she used Sponge Daubers and I had to try it!

I inked up my rose in Mango Melody and took my Sponge Dauber and hit the Melon Mambo pad  for some ink. I took the Sponge Dauber directly on the rubber with the Mango Melody ink still on it and pounced it on the edge and in the center. It really makes it look more realistic doesn't it?
I am going to have to do more of these once I get more Sponge Daubers. Only had a couple in my stash from a few years ago. I also did the same on the leaves. They were stamped with Granny Apple Green and Sponge Daubered with Shaded Spruce. Such a cool technique to bring more color to your stamp! Give it a try....I know your going to love it, too!

Card Details:

Stamps: Healing Hugs
Ink: Mango Melody, Melon Mambo, Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Mango Melody, Whisper White
Accessories: Melon Mambo Enamel Dots, Sponge Daubers, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This stamp set is in the NEW line of stamps from Stampin Up called Distinktive which gives the images a more 3D look. I think it's pretty neat!
