Cutest Cows

 Hello & Happy Fri-YAY!

The weekend is finally upon us!
Nothing much happening here as we are still recovering from the Flu. Poor Bailee must be wondering why we are sleeping so much and our eating schedule has been upside down. Shawn is feeling better but still majorly fatigued. My cough is better but now my head has opened the flood gates as i'm sneezing and constantly blowing my nose. Lysol Disinfectant Spray & Wipes have become our friends and I am praying the end is near!

So, today while i'm waiting on my groceries to be delivered from Giant I wanted to share another fun card that I made recently using the Cutest Cows Bundle from the 2024 Spring Mini Catalog. It is such a fun set loaded with lots of great sayings & images!

Card Details:

Stamps: Cutest Cows
Ink: Memento Black, Pecan Pie, Stampin Blends-Pecan Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Petal Pink
Cardstock: Pecan Pie, Basic White, Pecan Pie Gingham DSP
Accessories: Cow Builder Punch, Nested Essentials Dies, Ribbon, Butterfly Gems, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Yesterday we took the plunge and ordered our weekly groceries from Giant. They started doing delivery during Covid and still offer it. Neither Shawn or I are feeling up to grocery shopping so we bit the bullet and paid to have them delivered. Atleast this way we aren't spreading our germs and we won't get run down. Kelsey has done this several times and likes the convenience so guess we will find out!

Last evening Shawn's boss called to check in on him and told him to take tomorrow off yet which will give him 3 more days to get better. Super nice guy! I don't think he's ever had a boss as super cool as him which makes for a good working relationship. Anyways, he has 3 more days to rest and get feeling more like himself. The flu is no joke!

Daffodil Notecards

 Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope your week is going well! We are halfway to the weekend now!

The flu bug has hit the Aungst Pad this past week. Saturday night we went out to hear Kelsey's friend's band and that night Shawn started to not feel well. By Sunday morning he had fever, chills and a cough. Since our doctor is not in on weekends I suggested he go to Urgent Care and sure enough....102 temp....it was the flu. That same day Kelsey started not feeling good either and so far she missed 2 days of work. She said the flu has been going around her work and half the staff was out. I've been trying to keep Ryan from it and I pray he does not get it. I had a flu shot in October and I have some mild symptoms nothing as severe as Shawn's. Mine is more less like a head cold w cough. I am taking Dayquil & Nyquil which is helping. I really hope by the weekend to feel better. Shawn has been home all week so far and not sure when he'll get back to work.

I have been going to my stamp table here & there to work on Audrey's card order. I will not get them delivered until we are 100% because she certainly does not need the flu on top of what she is dealing with. She requested a set of just the retired Daffodil Afternoon DSP with no saying.

I actually made her an 8 pack as I had a few pieces of this DSP left and just finished it up!
Every now & then I do that if I have an extra piece of 2 left and give her a bigger set. She will definitely use them!

Card Details:

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Cardstock: Thich Very Vanilla, Daffodil Afternoon DSP (retired SAB 22)
Accessories: Adhesive Backed Dragonflies & Birds, Stampin Seal

These were quick & easy to whip up and just perfect for Spring!
Around here the snow is still slowly melting but we've had some nice sunshiny days!
I am ready for Spring! Bet you are, too!

With Sympathy

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope that you all had a nice weekend!

We got out Saturday evening to see Kelsey's friend play in his band. I felt pretty good after my injection Friday so we bought our tickets and went. The band we saw is the Collinsville Discount Band which is local and they have a huge following. The place was packed and Shawn & I both said the music was so much better than we expected. It was a nice evening out and we enjoyed hanging out with Kelsey & her friends!

So, today I am sharing a set of Sympathy cards that I made using some of the Online Exclusives Meandering Meadow DSP. This paper did not immediately grab my attention as sometimes the realistic scenes throw me off. After seeing so many beautiful cards made with it I took the plunge and bought a pack. I used a piece last month on Audrey's card bag and she suggested using it for a set of Sympathy cards. These will go in her next order!

I used 2 different sheets of the printed paper for this set of 5 cards only because there is only 4 sheets of each print.

Card Details:

Stamps: Heartfelt Hexagons
Ink: Orchid Oasis
Cardstock: Orchid Oasis, Basic White, Meandering Meadows DSP (Online Exclusives)
Accessories: Something Fancy Dies, Orchid Oasis Metallic Ribbon, Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

We've been talking about going for the last several months so we will see. An speaking of bands.....I have the cutest card to share today that I made with a new bundle in the 2024 Spring Mini Catalog called Rock Star. This was a first purchase from this catty for me. Latte Love

 Hello & Happy Thursday!

I hope you enjoyed a nice Valentine's Day?!
Shawn cooked steamed shrimp for supper and then we did a quick walk up the street & back. By the time we went it was dark & pretty cold out but Bailee seemed to enjoy it! In a few weeks the time gets changed again (sigh) and it will start staying lighter in the evening which is what I am looking forward too!

Yesterday I felt good enough to go to my stamp table and play with a new Online Exclusives bundle called Latte Love. I always love the coffee & tea sets but rarely find a reason to use them. And of course, this bundle was available to demonstrators on Feb 1st and I decided to get it....I loved the DSP! Here is the card I made with it and gave to Shawn. We both love our hot drinks...mine being coffee and his being French Vanilla Cappuccino and I thought this said it all...."you're the best part of my day"! 💕

Card Details:

Stamps: Latte Love (Online Exclusives)
Ink: Lost Lagoon
Cardstock: Pecan Pie, Basic White, A Little Latte DSP (Online Exclusives)
Accessories: Basics 3D EF (Online Exclusives), Latte Love Dies (Online Exclusives), Stylish Shapes Dies, Circle Layering Framelits (retired), Lost Lagoon Twine (retired), Opaque Faceted Gems (SAB 24), Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Super cute, isn't it?
Latte Love will be available to customers starting March 5th and I think it's going to be a popular set!

Happy Valentine's Day 2024

 Hello & Happy Wednesday!

I missed the ball on making & sending any Valentine's Day cards to my family & friends this year. I'm so sorry for that and very unlike me.
This is one card I did make a few weeks ago...

Card Details:

Stamps: Heartfelt Hexagons
Ink: Poppy Parade
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Basic White, Poppy Parade DSP
Accessories: Hexagon Punch, Sweet Sorbet Ribbon, Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Update:
I'm still having a few difficult days with getting side affects under control.
I started a new once a week injection called Mounjaro to help get my A1c down and I am having some mixed reviews on it. I went last Friday to see the diabetic nurse and she showed Shawn & I how to do the injections. Shawn actually was a champ and did my 1st one. I have felt ok. Had some queasiness the next day and feel a bit depressed. I am now dealing with constipation which has always been an issue with me. It's been almost a week since I have last had a bowel movement. I have done my homework on this injection before I started and made sure to drink lots & lots of water, eat fresh fruits & veggies and yet here I am. This medicine is to slow down the gut to make you feel full longer and sometimes I get that but other times my belly is growling away. And I am awfully fatigued. I think the side affects of the blood pressure medicine have worn off as I do not have the lightheaded, dizzy, fainting spells anymore and I am able to function without having to sit down & catch my breath. I am still monitoring my blood pressure to make sure it does not go sky high again and so far so good!
I'm just not sure what to make of it all and not sure that this injection is for me. Thankfully, I have not gotten severely sick which was my main concern but who knows what will happen when I move up to a higher dose. I am not one for medicines or shots for that matter and most of all I hate being down & out. When my doctor suggested the Mounjaro injection I honestly did not think our health insurance would cover it and 3 days later we got the approval. So, time will tell and if something does not get a bit better then just maybe I need to say no and just work harder at getting that A1c down.
If anyone has any suggestions on any of my issues please feel free to leave a comment. I would appreciate any suggestions....

Planted Paradise

 Good Morning & Happy Monday!!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

I was under the weather most of the time but it's getting better.
I was given a 2nd blood pressure medicine (Amlodipine) a few weeks ago after a migraine caused me to spike very high blood pressure. This medicine has done nothing but make me feel horrible but it did get my numbers back down to where they need to be. Saturday, Shawn realized the lightheadedness, dizzy spells and the fact that I was ready to pass out from it came to a head. He made me take my bp reading and it has gotten quite low. I have not functioned well in the last several weeks and found myself taking deep breaths and sitting my days away. Taking a shower has become a bit much for me as I felt like I needed to sit and take deep breaths. Friday night was my last dose of the Amlodipine and I am slowly getting back to feeling more like myself. And to be honest, I was starting to get depressed. I emailed my doctor yesterday to let her I stopped the medicine. I cannot function like that! I will continue to monitor my blood pressure at home and we'll go from there.

So, today I am not sure what's on my agenda....just depends how good I feel. I would like to do some cleaning but I may have to ease into that!

I do have a card to share with you that I made a week or so ago using a new stamp set in the 2024 Spring Mini Catalog called Planted Paradise. I earned this set free for attending the On Stage last Fall and it has been a diamond in the rough. I am not one for fussy cutting but I think this set will be easy to do that with. No fussy cutting on this card, just straightforward stamping!

Card Details:

Stamps: Planted Paradise
Ink: Berry Burst, Shaded Spruce
Cardstock: Berry Burst, Shaded Spruce, Basic White, Berry Burst Gingham DSP
Accessories: Nested Essentials Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Shaded Spruce Ribbon (retired), Rhinestone, Glue Dot, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I just love this stamp set & the colors!
So much fun and i'm anxious to play more with this set of stamps.

Bridal Shower Card

 Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

I hope your weekend is off to a good start!
We are starting the day off with some clouds but otherwise no rain around. Going to be another 60 degree day, too! Shawn went fishing this morning, trying to take advantage of the warmer temperatures. I have some laundry to pick at and I would like to go do some stamping in between.

Today I want to share a bridal shower card that I made 2 weeks ago for Audrey. The shower was last Saturday but I haven't heard how it went yet. This week I have another card order to work on for her but she does not need the cards until the end of February so that gives me some time.

The last picture shows the card and the invitation. The colors are purple & gray...

I didn't quite have the right kind of stamps for this invitation but did my best with what I had.

Card Details:

Stamps: First Frost (retired), Forever Fern (retired), Watercolor Mini's (retired SAB 01), Custom Tee (retired)
Ink: Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Basic Gray
Cardstock: Thick Basic White, Highland Heather, Basic White
Accessories: Frosted Bouquet Framelits (retired), T-Shirt Builder Framelits (retired), Sheer White Ribbon w Silver Trim, Rhinestones, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

It did not turn out all that bad and Audrey was pleased with it!
