Happy 50th Anniversary

Hello & Happy Friday!

Today is my hubby's last day of vacation!
All good things must come to an end, right?!

He will start his new job Monday morning in Newark, Delaware which is not too far from home.
He took me there a few weeks ago and it's a little over an hour drive.
It might be faster if he takes a highway but that day we went all back roads.
He will be going back to work for a company whom he worked for before for 16 years and they are who sent us to Joplin, Missouri back in 2010.
Everything came about so fast and they offered him a great package, one that he could not turn down!
There is another person working at this plant that lives close to us so maybe down the road they can take turns driving and it's someone he & I both know well from our high school days.
I feel it's a good fit and i'm really happy for him!

So, not sure what's on our agenda today!
The weather is to be much cooler and no storms.

I do have a quick card to show today that was part of my customer's last order.
A 50th Anniversary card for friends of hers.
She asked that it be personalized so I did that on the printer.
Take a look...

Again, I am using up retired paper from the Painted With Love Specialty Paper from last year.
This paper was some of my favorite and i'm working on using it up!
The Gold Foil heart diecut is from the Be Mine Stitched Framelits dies that are still current and staying in the new Stampin Up Annual Catalog!
The Melon Mambo Ribbon is from the Everything Is Rosy Medley.

Card Details:

Stamps: none, sentiment is computer generated
Ink: none
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Gold Foil Paper, Whisper White, Painted With Love DSP (retired)
Accessories: Be Mine Stitched Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Gold Enamel Heart, Melon Mambo Ruched Ribbon, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Isn't it purdy?

Painted Seasons Set

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Hope everyone is having a good week and staying cool!
It's been humid here with severe storms everyday since Memorial Day.
Even tornado's!

My card I have to share today is pretty straight forward.
I seen a video that Kelly Acheson did recently on using up DSP.
Then she diecut a Stitched Rectangle Framelit and diagonally cut it in half and placed on the top of her card. Reminds me of a doily draped over the top!

The entire card base front is covered with DSP then the piece of cardstock layers over top!
I thought it was quite different and wanted to give it a try!

Card Details:

Stamps: Painted Seasons (SAB 19), Humming Along (sentiment)
Ink: Mango Melody, Call Me Clover, Poppy Parade
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Whisper White, Painted Seasons DSP (SAB 19)
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Rhinestones, Tombow Mulitpurpose Liquid Glue

I really liked this design and will use it again!
This set will be on my card rack for when my customer needs a pack of Thank You cards!

My thoughts today....

Over the weekend we had to go to Home Depot to order a new dryer.
My old one was starting to give me grief as it was taking several cycles just to dry a load of laundry.
Yesterday we got the old one out and made room for the new one.
It is to arrive before noon today!
Last summer I had to break down and get a new washing machine....this year I had to buy her matching partner! Ughh! It's one of those things you can't go without!

Thanks for stopping by & have a happy day!

Bloom by Bloom

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

I hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend!

Today we went on a trip with Kelsey & Corey to Root's Market & Auction in East Petersburg in Lancaster County, PA.

It's been quite a few years since Shawn & I have gone there.
They have auctions for all kinds of things and also shopping for homemade baked goods, fresh meats, fresh produce, plants/flowers and well almost anything! Also lots of FOOD!
We came home with so much good stuff!!!
Sticky Buns, Whoopie Pies, Sugar Peas, 2 bunches of Asparagus, Lettuce, Romaine Lettuce, Tomato's, Trail Mix, Chipped Chicken and 2 Italian subs for lunch tomorrow!
The Chipped Chicken is what we are using for Chipped Chicken Subs for supper this evening which are just like a Chipped Steak Sandwich. Ryan loves the chicken so that will make him happy!
I'm not sure what all Kelsey got but they both had tons of bags, too!
Afterwards we popped to a Home Goods Store in Lancaster because Kelsey is on a roll looking for Rae Dunn things. She struck it rich today and got bowls and flower holders for her little apartment.
She was trying to talk me into getting a Rae Dunn coffee cup but I don't really need anymore coffee cups plus I had my eye on a Rae Dunn planter that I want to put my palm/fern in. Winter time it sits by my kitchen window and summer time it goes outside on the back porch and is getting really big!
We had a great day but my word, is it ever HUMID out!
I was a sweat puddle and ready to get home to my AC!

So I do have a quick set of cards to share today!
I made these for my customers last order then changed my mind and kept them.
I thought they were maybe too busy for her. I may add a sentiment and use for something else down the road.

All this comes from the Happiness Blooms Suite in the Occasions Mini Catalog.
It's all retiring on June 3rd. (insert sad face)
I loved this suite of products and will continue to use it!

Card Details:

Stamps: Bloom by Bloom
Ink: Pineapple Punch, Calypso Coral
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Pineapple Punch, Whisper White, Happiness Blooms DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Square Layering Framelits, Happiness Blooms Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I love how bright this set turned out!
I think I will add a fun sentiment and use them another time!

Happy Memorial Day!

Hope your holiday weekend has been enjoyable!

We have nothing planned today so I may try to sneak in some stamping time, we'll see!
My hubby is home yet this week then next Monday he starts his new job!
Maybe then life will get back to normal and I will have my afternoons to stamp again!
I love him dearly and enjoy spending time with him but after 3 and a half weeks at home, i'm ready to get back to some sort of normal schedule. Heck, I am lost on what day of the week it is!
The company he was working for in Baltimore closed the first week of April and he has been looking high & low for another job. Thankfully, he found one!
Anyways, hang in there with me.....life and my blog will get back to normal soon!

 Happy Memorial Day!

Gingham Daisies

Good Morning & Happy Sunday!

This holiday weekend sure is flying by!
We've been so busy and yesterday was no exception.
We spent the afternoon out looking for a roll up blind for our back porch.
Apparently the stores do not carry them anymore but you can order them from their online store! Errrr, what a crock!
Shawn ended up buying one that is spring loaded and made of a mesh material.
Way more than I wanted to spend but it serves the purpose!

Yesterday my pups also got groomed and they look so good!
I will try to grab a picture of them to share.
We've done so much running around since Shawn has been home!
Today, however, will be a down day! Mama needs to rest! LOL
Going to catch up on some laundry and enjoy the day with my pups!

So, before I head to the washing machine...I do have a cute card to share today!
It's another card set for my customer's last order.

My customer absolutely loves this Gingham Gala DSP along with the matching ribbon!
She requested 2 packs of these with that big ole Daisy Punch on them.
They are quite pretty aren't they!

Card Details:

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Grapefruit Grove, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, Lemon Lime Twist, Gingham Gala DSP
Accessories: Be Mine Stitched Framelits, Daisy Punch, 3/4 Circle Punch, Clear Glittered Enamel Dots, Organdy Ribbon, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

My customer also requested these cards with no sayings on them so she can use them for a variety of things. She sends out a heck of alot of cards in a years time and always writes her own personal messages inside!

Thank You Cards

Hello & Happy Saturday!

I have a set of cards to share today that I made last month for my customers order.
She always tells me to use old stuff so this pack uses some Print Poetry DSP from a few years ago!

This print reminds me of vintage wallpaper but I was determined to get it used up!
My customer loved these and she appreciated how flat it was for easy mailing!

Card Details:

Stamps: Flourishing Phrases
Ink: Midnight Muse (retired)
Cardstock: Midnight Muse (retired), Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Print Poetry DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Midnight Muse Ribbon (retired), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I love to mix old products with newer stuff!
God knows I have lots of both!

Everything Is Rosy

Hello & Happy Friday!

It's the start to the long Memorial Day weekend here in the US.

I hope your all doing well!

My husband is still home and will be home for another week until he starts his new job!
A really good opportunity came up last week and he decided to take it.
I'm happy for him!
I will share more details soon about that!

We've gone on a few short trips in the last 2 1/2 weeks that he's been home.
We hit a few Antique Stores and took a day trip to Delaware to visit some friends.
Thankfully we had great weather for that!
We did a bunch of projects around the house and put a huge garden in the backyard!
Looking forward to lots of yummy veggies this summer!
I got lots of flowers planted and would like to get the flower beds mulched before he heads back to work.
My stamping has been lacking since he's been home.
I got a call for a card order that I have been picking at and finally got it ready.

My customer asked for a pack of cards with no sentiment on them.
I struggle with this type of card because I think we build our cards around a sentiment.
SO, I pulled out my Everything is Rosy Medley and built my cards....

I used a card design that Angie Juda shared a few weeks ago and I used some of the Everything is Rosy DSP. It's beautiful with the Rose Gold Foil in it but I think the patterns are a bit busy.
My focal image is a punch-out diecut that comes in the medley. The ribbon also comes with it.
Night of Navy with a Rose Gold Edge goes nice with this medley!

Card Details:

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Everything is Rosy DSP
Accessories: Everything is Rosy Punch-outs, Circle Layering Framelits, Night of Navy w Rose Gold Edge Ribbon, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I'm pretty happy with how these turned out and hopefully next time I won't struggle as much.

The Everything is Rosy Medley is only available until May 31 while supplies last!
I can't wait till I get more time to play with it!

Sunshine Wishes Thinlits

Hello & Happy Monday!

Going to be a busy day!
My hubby is still home and I have made him aware that I need to get back to some stamping!
It's therapy for me! I will update you tomorrow on what is going on with him, too!

Unfortunately, I won't be stamping today since I need to do some housework.
With him being home and the pups in & out constantly taking advantage of the nice weather we've been having.....the inside of my house really needs some attention!

But, I do have a card to share today that I made with my last card order!
It looks just the same as the last one I made but different colors....

I loved this layout and I really love that diecut heart!
My DSP is from a retired pack of Pretty Petals DSP from a few years ago.
I do not know how I ended up with 3 packs of it though?!
Gotta get it used up!

Card Details:

Stamps: unknown Anniversary stamp
Ink: Old Olive
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Pretty Petals DSP (retired)
Accessories: Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Circle Layering Framelits, Old Olive 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dot, Dimesionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This one is very feminine and pretty with that flowery paper and my customer loved it!
I rather like it myself and hope you do as well!

My thoughts today....

Today is my youngest child's birthday!
Today she goes off our health insurance policy since she turns 26!
Man, i'm feeling old!

Happy Birthday, Kelsey!!

That is all for now!
I will fill you in tomorrow on the last week of adventures!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Tuesday Morning Sketches 502

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Hope your all having a good weekend!
It's to be a rainy day here in PA. Not a nice way to spend Mothers Day.
Kelsey & Shady are coming over to spend the day with me!
Definitely a bright spot on this rainy day!

I haven't had much time to stamp this last week even though I really wanted too!
Last evening around 9pm I headed down to my stamp table to make a card!

I wanted to use the Tuesday Morning Sketches Challenge to create a card for a friend.
I also just got the Stampin Up! Everything Is Rosy Medley on Thursday and it was killing me not to ink it up!

So, here is the sketch and my card.....

The Everything Is Rosy Medley is a Stampin Up! special this month while supplies last.
At first I was not really keen on it, then I seen a demonstrator show everything in the kit and I was taken with it! I ordered it right away!

Card Details:

Stamps: Everything Is Rosy, Country Home (sentiment)
Ink: Night of Navy, Melon Mambo
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Night of Navy, Whisper White, Rose Gold Foil Paper, Everything Is Rosy DSP
Accessories: Everything Is Rosy Thinlits, Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This sheet of DSP is so pretty and I love the pops of Rose Gold Foil in it!
And those flowers....I love them!
Hope you like my card!

With Sympathy

Hello & Happy Saturday!

It has been a week since my last Stamp Day w Friends!
Today I am sharing another card that us girls made.
I used many different products, some retired and some not.

I pulled out my pack of Gingham Gala DSP and used a 3 inch wide strip of the Grapefruit Grove color. At first I was not a big fan of this color but I have been finding myself using it more & more! My flowers came from a retired set, Love & Sympathy. The sentiment comes from the SaleABration set, Lasting Lily. I used the retired Ornate Tag Topper Punch to create my tag then the Granny Apple Green & Grapefruit Grove Stampin Write Markers to color my image directly on the rubber. Lastly, we added a Grapefruit Grove bow and some small white pearls.

Card Details:

Stamps: Love & Sympathy (retired), Lasting Lily (SAB 19)
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Grapefruit Grove & Granny Apple Green Stampin Write Markers
Cardstock: Grapefruit Grove, Whisper White, Granny Apple Green, Gingham Gala DSP
Accessories: Oval Layering Framelits, Ornate Tag Topper Punch (retired), Grapefruit Grove Organdy Ribbon (SAB 19), Sm White Pearls, Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This is such a pretty Sympathy card!
I know the girls like to have these on hand for when the need arises.

Special Celebration

Hello & Happy Friday!

Yesterday was a nice day spent with my hubby for his birthday!
We had a nice supper out and came home to relax the rest of the night.

It was a late start of the day for me this morning as I slept horribly last night.
Today I don't have much on my agenda, just some laundry and making a pot of chili for supper.
Quick & easy!

Today I have a quick card to share that I made for a recent card order.
My customer needed an Anniversary card for some special friends of hers and I thought this one would work great!

Sadly, the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits are retiring.
I have had them for quite awhile but don't use them much so it was fun to use them!
The Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper was out a few years ago when Mint Macaron was one of our In Colors. I like this color and glad it's now part of the Subtles family!

Card Details:

Stamps: Special Celebration
Ink: Memento Black
Cardstock: Mint Macaron, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Mint Macaron Glimmer Paper (retired), Pretty Petals DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Sunshine Wishes Thinlits, Banner Punch (retired), Basic Black 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dots, Mini Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I noticed I have 3 packs of this Pretty Petals DSP!
I better get busy on using it!

Cool Treats Birthday

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Yesterday was my hubby's last day of work in Baltimore.
I know deep down he is sad about it because he liked his job there and closing his work is still a bit of a shock. I'm sure in time things will get better but I would not be surprised down the road that he finds another job down that way.
He's already got another job and one that is closer to home but he will eventually go to 2nd shift and i'm not sure he will like that. I told him we will adjust to whatever comes about!

Today is his birthday and while we have no plans today other than supper out this evening, we will take a few days next week and go on some adventures, weather permitting.
He is on vacation next week and will start the new job the following Monday.
I will most likely be taking next week off from stamping and I will return the following week!

Today I have another card to share that was made last Saturday at my Stamp Day w Friends.
This card has a different fold.

This card measures 5 1/2 x 10. Scored at 4 1/4 and 8 1/2.
I saw this card fold done by Angie Juda.
My card uses a retired set called Cool Treats.
It's a set that I did not use very much and I have 2 packs of coordinating DSP that needs used up!
My friends made this card and did a wonderful job even though the solid ice cream stamp gave us a bit of an issue. Cleaning it in between each use helped!

Card Details:

Stamps: Cool Treats (retired)
Ink: Crumb Cake, Watermelon Wonder (retired), Chocolate Chip (retired)
Cardstock: Pool Party, Whisper White, Watermelon Wonder (retired), Tasty Treats DSP (retired)
Accessories: Square Layering Framelits, Pool Party Enamel Dots (retired), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This card was really an easy one to make and I loved the different fold!
Thanks Angie for sharing this neat fold!

Hello Cupcake

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Yesterday was a beautiful day with lots of sunshine!
I sat outside with the girls while they roamed around the yard.
It's the kind of weather you wish you could bottle up and open on a rainy day!
And speaking of rain....I think for the next week they are calling for showers.
*sign* I have no words...

Anyways, to help deal with the cloudy, blah weather I have a colorful card to share with you!
This is one I designed for my Stamp Day w Friends last Saturday.
I hope it will make you smile when you see how colorful it is!

The stamp set, Hello Cupcake, is from SaleABration this year.
And that DSP is SO pretty!
I was thinking about getting another pack of it but decided not too since I have too much paper in my stash as it is!

Card Details:

Stamps: Hello Cupcake (retired SAB 19)
Ink: Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape, Coastal Cabana
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Gorgeous Grape, Whisper White, How Sweet It Is DSP
Accessories: SU Paper Trimmer, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Square Layering Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Hello Cupcake Framelits (retired), Pineapple Punch Grosgrain Ribbon, Glittered Enamel Dots, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I also used the Corner Flip design on this.
Here is a link for a tutorial if your interested in making one.

My friends & I had a good time making this card!
You should give it a try!

Nine Lives HB

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Late start to the day for me.
I have been really busy with things around the house.
My hubby found a tanning bed for me and last Friday evening we went down to Maryland to see it.
Turned out the bed was like new and the woman just put new bulbs in it!
It was hard getting it in & out of the truck then getting it down the basement steps. Shawn had to put in a different outlet so it would not blow out any breakers!
Between getting that done, getting the basement rearranged and then my every other week house cleaning.....yep, this woman is beat beyond words! I headed to bed at 9 last night and slept till 9 this morning and every muscle aches right along with my back. I'm sure today is going to be filled with nothing more than my ice pack, tv remote and my recliner!
So, about the tanning bed....It is not for ones pleasure of getting a nice glowing tan.
For me, it will be about using it when my psoriasis gets out of hand.
The sun & UVB lights has helped mine clear up nicely!

So, today I have a card to share using the Nine Lives stamp set from the Occasions Mini Catalog!
This card was requested by my customer who has a good friend that loves her cats!

This is the first time this set has seen ink and I already had the Cat Punch.
I had some scrap pieces of Calypso Coral DSP in my stash and just used what was already cut.
My Tufted EF panel was already embossed from another project.
This card came together quick easily since everything was already done except for stamping the cat.

Card Details:

Stamps: Nine Lives, Big on Birthdays (retired)
Ink: Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Calypso Coral DSP
Accessories: Tufted EF, Circle Layering Framelits, Whisper White 1/8 Ribbon, Rhinestones, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This card was fun to make!
