Halloween Cup Carrier

Hello & Happy Thursday!

A very rainy day is on tap here in PA today and that's fine with me!

Here is another mini coffee cup carrier I whipped up for Halloween.

.
My patterned paper is from Pebbles that I think came from AC Moore last year. Aren't those pumpkins cute? They are from the Spooky Fun Bundle. Since my sentiment is photopolymer I was able to curve my saying on the acrylic block and stamped it above my row of pumpkins. A strip of Pumpkin Pie Glimmer paper is held on with my black clip. I tied some Halloween Night Baker's Twine on my clip to finish it.

These carriers are so much fun to make!

Fancy Poinsettia for Christmas

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Took a bit of a break the last few days to enjoy the nice weather we've been having!
Shawn & I got out for a bike ride one afternoon which was fun!
Have you noticed that it's getting darker earlier? Sadly a sure sign that Daylight Savings Time is coming to a close.
Later today we are expecting rain. Some to be heavy over the next few days. I heard anywhere from 3-4 inches thru Sunday. We really need it but that might be a bit much. The winds have already kicked up and it feels much cooler. As for me, I will be downstairs crafting away! Let it rain!

Anyways, today I wanted to share a Christmas card I made.

I'm not too sure on this card but I was shooting for something different!

I stamped my flowers with Metallic Silver Ink, left them dry them punched them out with the Festive Flower Builder Punch. I have a few sheets of Brushed Silver Metallic Paper left so I used it under my flower. The sentiment is from a Papertreyink set called, Believe. Kelsey told me it needed more sparkle so I added a few very small rhinestones around the flower. I guess it's always good to ask for someone else's opinion on things! LOL Once they were done I really did like it and decided to make a bunch.

Night of Navy Poinsettia Card:

Stamps: Reason for the Season, Believe by Papertreyink
Ink: Metallic Silver, Garden Green, Night of Mavy
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Garden Green, Brushed Silver Metallic, Whisper White
Accessories: Festive Flower Punch, Lg Oval Punch, Rhinestones, Tombow Liquid Glue

What do you think??

Serene Sunflowers

Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

My card today is one a customer requested with something Fall on it.
Since I know she loves sunflowers, I dug thru all my thousands of stamp sets until I found Serene Sunflowers....an oldie but a goodie!
Take a look...

I also had another sunflower stamp set over the years but I must have unloaded it before we made the move to Missouri a few years back. This stamp set worked well and one thing I love about it is the 2 step stamping that gives my flower the light & dark petals for a more realistic look. The sentiment comes from a very old SU set called Handwritten Hello's. I used an old Corner Rounder Punch to round out the 2 opposite corners for interest and made the main focus on that beautiful sunflower! Isn't it pretty? I'm certain my customer will love it!

Thinking of You Sunflower:

Stamps: Serene Sunflowers, Handwritten Hello's
Ink: Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Whisper White
Accessories: Corner Rounder Punch Stamp A Ma Jig, 2 Sided Tape

Right outside of the small town I grew up in there is a farmer's field that had miles & miles of sunflowers every Fall. To this day they still plant thousands of them and at this time each year they are amazing & beautiful to see! I'm headed that way today so maybe I can try to get a picture of them. If I do I will share it here tomorrow!

Thoughtful Branches Candy Bar

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Today I have a cute Hershey Bar Holder that I whipped up with a 3 X 6 Cello Bag.

I cut down a piece of designer series paper and slipped it inside the cello bag and at the top I folded it down over the front of the cello bag which is where I put my tree and sentiment. I added half of a Gold Foil Metallic Doily under my sentiment with a Gold Cord Bow. I love that the cello bag protects the candy bar nicely inside.  The Thoughtful Branches set has become a staple on my stamp table as it can be used for many different things!

Candy Bar Holder:

Stamps: Thoughtful Branches, Lots of Joy
Ink: Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Gold Foil Paper, This Christmas Specialty DSP
Accessories: 3X6 Cello Bag, Gold Foil Metallic Doily, Gold Cord, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

What do you think?

An Unusual Request

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Last week I had an unusual request from my one customer.
She wanted a pack of cards made for October birthdays with this Halloween dsp from 2 years ago called Motley Monsters. She had seen this one particular piece on a calendar I made her as a Thank You gift last year and you should of heard me laugh. I told her I have never had that type of request before but I would do my best to create what she wanted.

This is the finished product....

The sentiment I think comes from an old All Year Cheer stamp set but not sure which one. I chose this sentiment because of the funky font. I tried not to cover too much of the dsp since she requested that certain sheet of paper. My sentiment panel has a wee bit of ribbon on that I used a mini stapler on. This stapler has been in my stash since I started stamping....no idea where it came from but there is even 2 extra packs of staples to go with it. I liked how small the staples were so I used it to adhere my snippet of ribbon on. In the end I have come to like this card set but my customer has not seen these yet but i'm sure she will love them. She's such a funny lady and I love that she keeps me challenged!

October Birthday Card Set:

Stamps: All Year Cheer
Ink: Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Motley Monsters DSP (retired)
Accessories: Circle & Scallop Circle Punches, Tangerine Tango Ribbon, Stapler, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

Halloween Cup Carrier

Hello & Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

It's Monday and today i've got a challenge project to share with you!

My friend, Vicki Burdick, and I have been throwing little challenges at each other ever since I moved from Missouri back to Pennsylvania in 2011. I enjoy doing these with her, it keeps us close even though we are 1200 miles apart! She has become a very dear friend to my family & I.
Last week when I shared my Gingerbread Coffee Cup Carrier she was the one who saw it first before it appeared on here. She was WOW'ed by it and there once again another challenge was born! Except this time we challenged each other to make a carrier decorated for Halloween!
Game on, Miss Vicki!

Here is mine....

These things are SO much fun to create....I made a ton of them for the holidays this year! If your interested in making these, here is the link to Lisa Curcio's video tutorial. Her directions are very easy & simple.
I think these make a great little treat for someone and it does not necessarily mean that it has to be for Halloween or any holiday. These could be whipped up for a Birthday, a Thank You or Just Because! You could always add a little treat in the cup and possibly a gift card or some cash. I promise this will make someone smile!

Halloween Coffee Cup Carrier:

Stamps: Spooky Fun
Ink: Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper, Halloween Night Specialty DSP
Accessories: Halloween Scenes Framelits, Circle & Scallop Circle Punches, Wide Oval Punch, Banner Punch (flag end), Halloween Night Baker's Twine, Black Rhinestones, Black Clip, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I don't have any candy inside my cup yet as I haven't found the right treat yet! Eeeeek! My daughter & hubby gave me some flack for being in the candy isle way to long the other evening. I just have not found what i'm looking for yet! I'm also disappointed that M&M does not have M&M's in Halloween colors....they have Fall colors but nothing Halloween! Sigh, what's a crafter to do??!!

I hope you will stop by Vicki's blog, It's A Stamp Thing and see what she created for our little challenge. If I know Vicki....it's going to be something FaBOO-lous!

Kit Kat Candy Treats

Hello & Happy Sunday!

I been working on more fun treats for Halloween the last several days.
This project was leftover from last Halloween so I tore it apart and reused the main part.
It started out as this...

And after I tore them apart, I turned them into this....

My Basic Black cardstock strip is cut at 2 X 11 and then scored at 5 then again at 6. I placed both ends in the Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to get the fancy top and hole to tie the Halloween Night Baker's Twine thru. The baker's twine is what holds it together. Inside I placed a 2 X 8 sized cello bag which I cut down to fit inside the 2 flaps. I used 2 Sided Tape on one side of the bag to hold it in place. I used the Halloween Night Specialty DSP on both sides of the candy holder. I used Spooky Fun for the adorable row of pumpkins & sentiment and at the bottom on the holder I added just a very tin strip of Pumpkin Pie Glimmer paper just for a pop of sparkle! I'm pretty pleased with these and will more than likely make more. I used Kit Kats inside my cello bags and they fit perfectly!

Kit Kat Candy Treat Holders:

Stamps: Spooky Fun
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Halloween Night Specialty DSP, Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Halloween Scenes Framelits, Circle & Scallop Circle Punches, Scalloped Tag Topper Punch, Halloween Night Baker's Twine, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Another easy treat holder to whip up in no time!

Holiday Planner 2016

Hello & Happy Friday!

Our weather here has continued to be gorgeous even so much so that I had to shut my windows overnight because it got so cool out. Even still...I love this weather!

Yesterday I spent about 6 hours at my stamp table just playing around with some things for Halloween & Christmas. Hard to believe the holiday season will be here in a few short weeks. I have been working hard to get things squared away so once Christmas gets closer I can spend more time doing some baking, watching holiday movies with my hubby & daughter and just enjoying that time of the year. Normally it is very crazy busy with working on last minute crafts for gifts and orders.
So, since I have a drawer full of notebooks waiting to be recovered and decorated, I have spent some of my summer doing just that.
Here is a normal sized composition book recovered and decorated.

These notebooks usually sell like hotcakes at my craft shows. I also get orders for them throughout the year. I enjoy making these kind of things some days over cards because these can have alot of dimension to them over a handmade card. My poinsettia on this notebook is really popped up with lots of dimensionals and that big gold bead. I had a strip of Gold Glimmer paper in my stash that was cut just right to place under my flower. I'm not sure what it is about this poinsettia but I just love it! The gold metallic ribbon on the side of the notebook actually was wrapped around a pair of pj's that I got a few years ago for Christmas! I took my iron and ironed out the wrinkles so I could reuse it. I actually iron alot of my ribbons if I use it on something and then change it out. It gets the wrinkles out of it so I can reuse it for another project. Anyone else iron their wrinkled ribbons??

Holiday Planner Composition Notebook:

Stamps: Papertreyink, Reason for the Season
Ink: Real Red, Garden Green
Cardstock: Garden Green, Real Red, Very Vanilla, Gold Glimmer Paper, This Christmas Specialty DSP
Accessories: Festive Flower Builder Punch, Lg Oval & Scallop Oval Punches, Gold Metallic Ribbon, Gold Bead, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Pretty, isn't it?
There will be more of these to come in the next several weeks so stay tuned!
