Merry Monday Challenge Week #85

Hello & Happy Monday!

Busy morning here at the Aungst Pad.

Shawn just left to drop Bailee Boo off at the Vet's for her procedure today. You probably remember me telling you that since we had her (a month & 5 days now) she has had an odd cough & lots of wheezing. She's quite congested but you really would not know anything was wrong because she is a spunky, fun loving little girl. Friday, she had a recheck after 2 bouts of antibiotics & a steroid neither of which have done much. Today they are sedating her and going thru her mouth down to her lungs for samples of the fluid so they know how to treat her. I'm worried thinking about it but I guess that's what we mama's do! So today to take my mind off of it, I will be in the kitchen baking for our Thanksgiving this week. Pumpkin pies & pumpkin rolls are on the menu!

In the meantime, I have a card to share with you for today's Merry Monday Challenge.
Lesley has been giving us some pretty awesome challenges to help us get our Christmas cards made so here goes!!

I'm usually pretty challenged when it comes to making a CAS style card and especially one that is solid white. I sat & stewed on this one for quite some time! Who would have thought that a CAS style of card would stump a person??!! Well, it did me but I got thru it!

My card base is Neenah White with another layer of white cardstock stamped with my Merry Christmas sentiment and I had a white snowflake already punched in my stash that I added with a dimensional. I still thought it looked plain and grabbed a button from my drawer and added a piece of twine. I love how country-ish it looked after that!

Merry Monday Week #85 Card:

Stamps: Sentiment from All Year Cheer
Ink: Kraft/Crumb Cake
Cardstock: Neenah White
Accessories: Marvy Snowflake Punch, Button, Twine, Dimensional, Glue Dot, Liquid Mono Glue

Hope you can stop by Lesley's blog to see what the other Merry Makers have created this week. So many pretty idea's for inspiration!

Well, that is all for me today!
I'll give an update tomorrow on Bailee Boo. Please say a little prayer for her today if you wouldn't mind. I'm hoping all goes smoothly and she returns home later today.

Off to the kitchen I go!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Thanksgiving Thursday Week #3

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Can you believe that next Thursday will be Thanksgiving already! How did that happen??!!
Well, as most know i've been working hard on getting some Thanksgiving cards made in between the hussle & bussle of Halloween & Christmas. This week is week 3 of my series called Thanksgiving Thursday and I have 2 cards to share this week!

Here we go!

This card is a case of my one Christmas cards from last week. I loved that card and enjoyed that sketch so I incorporated it into a Thanksgiving card.
My colors got a bit wonky in my photo's. Not sure what's been going on with that. The center panel that is embossed with the Square Lattice EF is actually Tangerine Tango cardstock. It almost looks peachy in the picture.
I embossed my image on Crushed Curry cardstock with a brown embossing powder. It's actually coffee scented but after having that embossing powder for many years, it's lost it smell.

My next card is done using a new set to me called Gently Falling. I have adored this set for the last 2 years and finally was able to snag it last month durning one of Stampin Up's sales! My Cajun Craze panel is stamped with the Woodgrain Background stamp. I love this stamp as it gives a woodsy/masculine look. I randomly stamped my leaf images in Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry & Early Espresso onto Very Vanilla cardstock. I added a strip of Early Espresso Taffeta along with a bow and my sentiment. The Crushed Curry panel under my main image is punched with an EK Success border punch for interest. Alse there is a picture of the inside.

These will soon get addressed and put out for the mail as Thanksgiving is one week away! I don't know about all of you but i'm so ready for some turkey & pumpkin pie! :)

Thanksgiving Thursday Week 3 Card 1:

Stamps:  Country Pleasure, Tiny Talk
Ink: Versamark, Brown Coffee Scented EP, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla, Sweater Weather DSP
Accessories: Sm. Oval Punch, Ribbon, Square Lattice EF, Heat Gun, Dimensionals, Liquid Mono Glue

Thanksgiving Thursday Week 3 Card 2:

Stamps: Gently Falling, Teeny Wishes, Woodgrain Background, DRS Designs (inside sentiment)
Ink: Early Espresso, Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso
Accessories: EK Success Border Punch, Early Espresso Taffeta Ribbon, Gold Pearls, Word Window & Modern Label Punches, Dimensionals, Liquid Mono Glue

Well, that does it for me today!
My hubby has a very long day ahead of him at work today so that means he probably will not get in till almost bedtime this evening. That gives me most of the day to play downstairs at my stamp table. I have lots to work on this weekend because next week will be a busy time with baking for the holiday! I'm excited!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Oppsie! I forgot my Thanksgiving Thursday

Hello & Happy Sunday!

As I sat here this afternoon watching the Ravens football game they announced a game suspension due to bad weather in the midwest. It looks pretty scary from what I see. Tornado's in Illinois and in Chicago where the Ravens are playing the Bears, the skies turned very black and the heavens opened up! They made people get out of the stands to take cover then went off the air. So as I sit here patiently waiting for it to come back on...I realized I forgot to post my Thanksgiving Thursday post this past week! Yikes! I know things have been busy so I guess that's why it slipped my mind!

So, better late than never...here is this past week's Thanksgiving Thursday!

I made some Thanksgiving Candy Purses to put out on the table at everyone's place settings for Thanksgiving dinner.

My cardbase is Tangerine Tango with a piece of Sweater Weather DSP. I added my sentiment from Tags 4 You that I punched out with the Label Bracket Punch. I popped the sentiment up, added a bow of Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon and 2 rhinestones. The strap is a piece of Chocolate Chip 1/4 Grosgrain Ribbon. The nuggets are wrapped with Whisper White cardstock that were stamped with It's A Wrap- Holidays stamp set from last year. I know it's not a card but this week I am going to try to fit in 2 Thanksgiving cards! I made these and was so excited to share them....then I forgot!

Thanksgiving Candy Purses:

Stamps: Tags 4 You, It's A Wrap Holidays
Ink: Soft Sky, Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Tangerine Tango, Whisper White, Sweater Weather DSP
Accessories: Top Note Die, Chocolate Chip & Crushed Curry Ribbons, Rhinestones, Label Bracket Punch, Dimensionals, Liquid Mono, Hot Glue

Well, the game has been delayed another hour due to the weather in Chicago so I guess i'll go see what I can get into for a bit.
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Hello & Happy Thursday!

As busy as I have been this week I have made time to hit the stamp room for a couple of challenges this week. It is surely making the week go by quickly!

Today's Ways To Use It Challenge is to use Wreaths! I can do that!

I made 2 projects!
Here we go!

I don't have many wreath stamps but the one that I used on my card is from PaperTreyInk. I just adore this stamp because it can be used at any time of the year!

Wreath Card:

Ink: Chocolate Chip, Real Red
Cardstock: Neenah White, Real Red, Kraft
Accessories: Swiss Dots EF, Circle Nestibilities, Button, Twine, Dimensionals, Liquid Mono

My next project is a tissue box cover! I did a bunch of these up for the craft show this year but it ended up being cancelled.

Tissue Box Cover:

Stamps: Petite Pairs
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Whisper White, Holly Berry Bouquet DSP
Accessories: Lg & Scallop Oval Punches, Real Red Stitched Ribbon, Gold Beads, Felt Accessories, Hot Glue, Dimensionals, Liquid Mono

Sketch Challenge 462

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Today i'm sharing a card made for this week's Sketch Challenge over at SCS.
It's not like I really need anymore Christmas cards but they are my favorite to make!

Here we go...

I wanted to make a Gingerbread Thank You card for my Mom who did a bit of sewing work to my new Gingerbread curtains that I recently purchased. Everyone knows how much I love my Gingerbreads...heck my kitchen is filled with Gingerbread all year round and I was thrilled to find curtains with them on!
After Ryan's doctor appointment yesterday, which by the way went very well, we went to my parents for supper. Mom surprised me with my curtains being finished and ready for me to take home. I'm getting excited now thinking about getting decorated for Christmas! Christmas is at my house this year with my kids, grandpuppies, parents, 2 brothers & their wives. I know it's going to be stressful & alot of work but i'm looking forward to it! Anyways, i'm sure Mom is going to love my card!! She displays my cards all over her house and she made mention last night that she has a shelf in her kitchen that she is going to decorate with Gingerbreads! I'm sure this card will be on that shelf!! :)

Sketch Challenge 462 Card:

Stamps: Scentsational Season
Ink: Baked Brown Sugar
Cardstock: Neenah White, Whisper White, Baroque Burgundy, American Crafts DSP
Accessories: Holiday Collection Framelits, Swiss Dots EF, Gold Beads, Ribbon, Hot Glue, Dimensionals, Liquid Mono

Well, that is all for me today!
I'm off to get some other things done around the house before Kelsey & the hubby get home from work. I may need a nap by then! LOL
Thanks for stopping by & have a terrific day!

I also used a layout from Sketch Challenge 459 because it works well with this particular stamp set. I snagged it off of Ebay a few months ago because I love these images!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #83

Hello & Happy Monday!

Today Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper has a new challenge to help us get those Christmas cards made!

Here we go!

I loved this week's challenge although at first I did struggle a bit.
I just got this single stamp from Stampin Up called Wonderful Blessing and decided to emboss it with white embossing powder on Chocolate Chip cardstock. I cut it out with my Circle Nesties. I pulled out my Star of Wonder die from Memory Box and cut it out with some Champagne Glimmer Paper and placed over top the star in the image. I ran my Real Red cardstock thru the Cuttlebug with my Candy Cane Stripes EF then added some red baker's twine & a chocolate button.  My main image is popped up with Dimensionals and attached to my Real Red striped panel then adhered to my Neenah white card base. I love it and hope you do too!

Merry Monday Week #83 Card:

Stamps: Wonderful Blessings
Ink: Versamark & Winter White Embossing Powder
Cardstock: Neenah White, Real Red, Chocolate Chip, Champagne Glimmer Paper
Accessories: Star of Wonder Die from Memory Box, Circle Nestibilities, Candy Candy Strip EF from Cuttlebug, Heat Gun, Dimensionals, Liquid Multi Mono Glue

Well, that is all for today!
Hope you can stop by Lesley's blog to see what the other Merry Makers have created this week! You will love all the samples!

Candy Bars for Thanksgiving

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

So, the other day my Mom called me and asked if I would make her a few Thanksgiving Candy Bar Wrappers for some of the ladies she sees at the hairdresser each week. Since the craft show was cancelled this year, I certainly had plenty of Hershey Bars in my possession! I sat this evening and whipped these up for her.

I think she will like these!

Thanksgiving Candy Bars:

Stamps: Tags for You, Gobble Gobble
Ink: Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Soft Suede
Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango, Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Soft Suede, Pool Party, Whisper White, Sweater Weather DSP, Spice Cake DSP, Autumn Vine DSP
Accessories: Bracket Label Punch, Ribbon, Burlap Ribbon, Rhinestones,  Dimensionals, Liquid Mono Multi Glue

Before I go I wanted to give an update on Bailee since she was at the Vet last Thursday. Her Vet did 2 xrays on her which determined she had inflammation & fluid still in her lungs which could be from the Kennel Cough or possibly from pneumonia or influenza. He gave us 2 options to help get rid of this. One- was to bring her back the next day for them to sedate her and go down thru her mouth & throat to her lungs to collect a sample of whatever it is in her lungs. Then after that treat it accordingly OR just prescribe medicines and see if that takes it way. I wasn't real keen on doing something that invasive not to mention $1000!! So, Shawn chose to just get her meds. She is on a very high dose of antibiotics plus a steroid for 14 days. Hopefully this will clear it up! So far she has been on the meds for 3 days and it seems to be working! I'm hopeful it will take care of it. Bailee is a sweet little pup who loves her playtime, taking walks & mealtime! You really wouldn't know that there was anything wrong with her!

Well, that is all for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a good night!

SC 461 & Thanksgiving Thursday Week #1

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Today is the start of my Thanksgiving Thursday cards!
The past few years during the month of November, every Thursday up to Thanksgiving I showcase a Thanksgiving card. With Halloween & Christmas being busy crafting times, Thanksgiving usually gets lost in the mix. The year I lived in Joplin, Missouri, I decided to dedicate each Thursday in November to making cards specifically for this occasion. It has worked well for me over the last few years so I will continue the tradition. Feel free to play along and let me know so I can come check yours out!

For my first card of Thanksgiving Thursday 2013 I used this week's Sketch Challenge 461.

Here we go!

Sketch Challenge 461 & Thanksgiving Thursday Week 1 Card:

Stamps: Magnificent Maple, Days of Gratitude
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Sweater Weather DSP
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF, Wide Oval Punch, White Pearls, Dimensionals, Liquid Mono Multi Glue

I'm so glad I was able to get a card made for today! I have been so busy with taking care of our new puppy, Bailee and her Kennel Cough. She goes back to the Vet tonight because she still has the cough and we've read sometimes that dogs need a second dose of antibiotics to get rid of it. I've also been working hard on craft show stuff for the Christmas show. I found out the other day that it has been cancelled this year due to health problems. So now i'm not sure what I will do with everything I have made and i'm a bit bummed about it. Hopefully I can find a way to sell some of it.

Well, that is all for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!
