I have to say that I was a little stumped on this sketch and I if time allows I may try my hand at another card. I used a Stampin Up set that I just love to color, Beautiful Season! It's a really great set for making Christmas cards because it has a couple of nice sentiments in it!

Birthday Card for Vicki!!

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope you all had a great day!
Today was a busy one for me. I had a doctor appointment first thing this morning for a complete physical since I have not had one in 3 years and with my Ovarian Cancer issues I needed to get back on track with that! All went well! After that I went to visit my parents a few minutes and then ran Kelsey to do some errands before dropping her off at work. She started a job last week at a local convenience store and she is loving it! It's a start for now and hopefully she'll make some new friends along the way!

So, today is my good friend, Vicki Burdick's birthday! I sent her a little package for her special day along with this card I made.

I used 2 old sets that I borrowed from Deb called Flower of the Month & Happy Birthday Frame. I really love the older SU sets!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone had a terrific weekend!
Sorry for the lack of updates lately. I haven't been too crafty lately as the weather has been extremely nice so I try to spend my time enjoying it! This weekend though has been quite another story. I think winter has returned with a vengence! We had a Nor'easter come up the east coast today and it has been pouring buckets and the wind has picked up something awful. I believe we are in for rainy weather for another day or so but we really need it so for me it is welcomed!

This morning Kelsey, hubby and myself went out for some breakfast and returned home and put our pj's right back on and spent the day hanging out downstairs in the family room. I had a chance to stamp my butt off and I amazingly accomplished alot!

I even took a peek over at the Our Creative Corner Challenge Blog and decided I wanted to participate! The last time I participated was while I was still living out in Joplin and they now have alot of ladies on the design team each week! That means lots & lots of inspiration!
Irena "Rudlis" Kowalczyk is this week's hostess and she challenged us to use "Butterflies" on our projects! :)

I found this paper in my stash from K&Company with butterflies on. I drew from the paper my color combo. I used Wisteria Wonder & Pink Pirouette.

Our Creative Corner Challenge Card:

Stamps: Perfect Words (hostess)
Ink: Memento Black
Cardstock: Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette, Neenah White, K&Company DSP
Accessories: MS Doily Border Punch, Pink Pirouette Grosgrain, Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon, MS Butterfly Punch, Recollections White Pearls, Hot Glue, Scor Tape

I love the card but not so sure I got such a good picture of it.

Well, that is all for me tonight!
Thanks for stopping by & have a good nite!

Merry Monday Challenge Week 16

Hello & Happy Monday!

It's time for another Merry Monday Challenge!
Lesley from over at Always Playing with Paper threw out another terrific sketch this week so that we can get those Christmas cards made! I'm thrilled with the pile of Christmas cards I have made!

Below is her sketch and my sample....

I used an old retired set that I borrowed from my best friend called Nature's Secret. I went thru and picked out some Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP and then stamped my main image with Soft Suede to match. I punched out some Soft Suede & Glitter paper from Micheal's with a Paper Studio Snowflake Punch and layered them together. Then added a White Pearl to the center. I also punched a snowflake with the glitter paper and layered it on the snowflake in my main image. I then popped up the main image with dimensionals and called it done! Love it!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #16 Card:

Stamps: Nature's Secret (retired)
Ink: Soft Suede
Cardtsock: Soft Suede, Neenah White, Christmas Cocoa Specialty DSP, Glitter Paper from Micheal's
Accessories: The Paper Studio Snowflake Punch, SU Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

I hope you can find some time to play along this week over at Merry Mondays!

Merry Monday Challenge Week 15

Hello & Happy Monday!!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Today, it's back to making those Christmas cards for the Merry Monday challenge. Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper threw out this very simple sketch this week.
Take a look at Lesley layout & my samples below.....

I decided to go with this old Whipper Snapper Penguin that i've had for years. I never tire of using him year after year! I also dug in to my designer paper scraps and pulled out this SEI paper. I'm not even sure the name of it! LOL
I colored the penguin with Copic Markers and added glitter to his hat for alittle bling. I cut it out with Circle Nestibilities and popped it up with dimensionals. My card base is Concord Crush and layered that with a piece of white that was run thru my Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots EF. I used Wisteria Wonder Ribbon and added some Silver Beads and called it done!

Another card made for the holidays and a cute one at that!

Merry Monday Challenge Week 15 Card:

Stamps: Penguin by Whipper Snapper
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder, Neenah White. DSP from SEI
Accessories: Circle Nestibilties, Swiss Dots EF, Silver Beads, Glue Pen, Glitter, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

We hope you will take some time out of your week to play along!

Well, that is all for now!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Pinwheel Card

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

It was a beautiful day here in south central PA. Warm sunny breezes....just perfect for having the windows open! Fluffy & I made our rounds out in the yard this afternoon. I'm thrilled to say that she is probably 85% better! She bugged many of times to go outside and she bugged when someone would be eating today. Today was also her last of the anti nausea meds. Still has a few days on the antibiotics & pain meds left but I think things are looking much better!

So today I wanted to share a card I made for fun! I'm trying to stamp for fun to keep me interested is stamping. I'm still alittle challenged out these days.
I was rooting thru my stuff a few weeks ago and found this pinwheel that Vicki had made me when we lived out in Joplin last summer. I never did anymore with it because I did not have the designer paper that matched it. I recently ordered it and was able to put that pretty pinwheel to good use! My mom's birthday is on Monday after Easter and I thought the pinwheel was quite springy in those colors and a perfect card to hand deliver. I'm not even sure it will fit in an envelope! Hope she will like it as much as I do! I have 2 more pinwheels in my stash that I will be using very soon!

Pinwheel Birthday Card:

Stamps: Well Scripted (sentiment)
Ink: Memento Black
Cardstock: Peach Parfait, Wild Wasabi, Baja Breeze, Neenah White, Just Add Cake DSP
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF, Circle Nestibilities, Pinwheel Die (not sure where it's from), Lillipop Stick from Micheal's, Rhinestone Brad, Gold Beads, Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon, Hot Glue, Mono Multi Glue, Scor Tape

Well, that is all for me today!
Tomorrow I have to get crack a lackin on getting my Easter treats made for my Sunday dinner! Hopefully i'll have them to share then!
I've become such a procrastinator! Ughhh!

Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful evening!

Masculine Card

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Yep, it's getting late and I wanted to share this card I made this evening for my younger brother's birthday which was a few weeks ago. I haven't seen him and i'm not 100% sure if he'll be here on Easter or not so I thought i'd better get it made!

I've kinda been challenged out here lately and just felt like doing some stamping for myself so i'm sure there will be more of this to come.

I used a piece of Not Quite Navy cs 4 1/4 X 11.
Scored it in half and then one side I scored at 2 3/4 and folded it in the opposite direction. It looks like a Z fold. I used some Nautical Expeditions DSP from last summer along with this stamp called Sailing Away both from Stampin Up.
I added my sentiment with the Word Window Punch and layered that on a Modern Label Punch of Not Quite Navy cs. I also used my SU Square Lattice EF on a few different places. I finished it off with a couple of silver brads and called it done!
I like it and hope he does too!

Happy Birthday Card:

Stamps: Sailing Away, Teeny Tiny Wishes (sentiment), Happy Birthday (inside sentiment)
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Neenah White, Nautical Expeditions DSP
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF, Word Window & Modern Label Punches, Silver Brads, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that's about all for me tonight!
Just wanted to give an update on Fluffy....
She is doing much better! I'm still praying and hoping she's out of the woods.
Still eating the rice & turkey burger, drinking lots of water and her tail is back up where it belongs (most of the time, anyways).
There are times when she doesn't seem quite like herself but i'm thinking all the medicines that she's on is to blame for that. Today she was out in the yard sniffing around and soaking up the sunshine and that to me is the best sight ever!

Thanks again for stopping by and thinking about my Fluffy!
All those prayers are most certainly helping!

What A Weekend!!!

Hello & Happy Sunday!

I'm back from a very fun weekend away at the local Girl Scout camp with a bunch of stamp girls. Friday nite I did not sleep very well. The camp was invaded with Stink Bugs and by the time I could not keep my eyes open....a flash went off and it boomed so loudly! Great, we were in the midst of a thunderstorm!
Saturday, we got up to get our day started and we had no hot water to shower. Deb & I ran to my house since we're pretty close by and showered and returned back to camp. I stamped my heart out and got SO much made for the craft show. It was a good day till my hubby text me and informed me that Fluffy had been throwing up since she returned from getting groomed. I got worried & upset and Deb insisted on taking me home. She rushed me home to find Fluffy running a fever and not seeming like herself. We packed her up and went to the Animal Emergency Hospital. By this time I was so exhausted and my emotions got the best of me. As Fluffy was being examined, xrayed & blood work, I went out to the car and just cried. I knew the news was not gonna be good as I have never seen her this sick before. 2 hours later Shawn & Kelsey came out with Fluffy. She was diagnosed with Pancreatitis (inflamation of the pancreas). She is in pain as her belly is swelled and not keeping anything in. They gave her injections of pain, antibiotics & anti nausea meds. Her liver is also in not too good of shape. She also got meds for that too. We got 5 different meds to take twice a day and there is no guarantee she will be ok. You can tell she's in pain....doesn't wanna move too much. She's been resting comfortably today thanks to her pain meds. On the bright side though, after giving her pancreas a rest from the food & water for 12 hours she did eat a good bit for us today! I made her some turkey burger & white rice to settle her belly that was suggested by the wonderful people at the Animal ER. It took awhile too but she has started drinking some water too. I'm still alittle concerned about her dehydrating. I think she is afraid to drink since she got so sick yesterday. Today was a new day and i'm still worried but yet praying she'll pull thru this. Shawn will make her an appt here at the local Vet and have her checked out again in a few days. I'm asking for lots of prayers for her.....

So, even though i'm feeling down I do have some good news!
Last week I had an email from Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper and she asked me along with 2 other ladies to join her inaugural Merry Makers Design Team! I was so excited and jumped for joy! Of course I accepted her offer....I LOVE making Christmas cards! Tomorrow starts our first day and runs thru June so I hope you will all stop by her blog and join us every Monday for the Merry Monday Challenge! I can't wait!

Well, I need to go and Fluffy ready for another dose of meds. She has quite the cocktail of medicines to take from pain meds, 2 antibiotics, anti nausea, and liver support meds. Hopefully tomorrow she will start to feel better!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!
See you tomorrow for Merry Mondays!
