Lovely As A Tree

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Yesterday turned out to be a fun day with my hubby!
We both had doctor appointments at a new office within 10 minutes of our house (YAY!) and all went well. Afterwards we got home and decided to grab our bikes and go to the Rail Trail for a ride.
Just as we hit the trail it started to rain. The farther we went the harder it rained. We were drowned ducks by the time we got back to the parking lot but let me tell you....we laughed so hard!
It was so much fun and I would do it again! It's the stuff memories are made of, right?
5.5 miles wasn't bad either....I guess that's why we were soaked straight down to our undies! LOL
Shawn goes back to work today and i'm hoping some things at work will change for him.
His evenings & weekends need to be his time not work time.
Then we could get more fun bike rides in!

Today I have a card to share that was a CASE (copy & share everything).
I'm not sure who the original creator was but her card was perfect for a Stamp Day w Friends!

My stamp girls always want masculine cards and this one was perfect!
I changed up my sentiment panel and my layout is a bit different.
Everything is retired so it was good to use this stuff up!

Card Details:

Stamps: Lovely As A Tree (retired), Thoughtful Banners (retired)
Ink: Soft Suede
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Wood Textures DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Classic Label Punch, Mini Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Lovely As A Tree is perfect for creating masculine cards!
With Fall coming I promise we will be using it again!

Lovely As A Tree

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Hope your all having a nice relaxing weekend so far!
Yesterday turned out to be a very nice day!
Lots of sunshine even though it was still humid.
Shawn & I headed out to run some errands then home to get the storage room straightened up.
Today I have an appointment to get my haircut. Going shorter this time.
I absolutely love as it's so much easier to take care of!

Today I have another card to share that the girls made Friday evening.
They love their masculine cards so here is one that was made with Lovely As A Tree and some Christmas DSP!

This DSP is from the Under the Mistletoe DSP that is in the Annual Catalog.
When I seen the plaid print and it had Old Olive & Night of Navy in it...I seen a masculine card!
And how cool that Lovely As A Tree went SO well with it!

The tree was inked with SU Markers then we huffed to moisten the ink then stamped it onto our Whisper White cardstock. They all turned out beautifully!

Card Details:

Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Perennial Birthday
Ink: Night of Navy, Old Olive & Early Espresso SU Markers
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Old Olive, Whisper White, Under the Mistletoe DSP
Accessories: Oval Layering Framelits, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Another favorite with the girls!
I personally love the plaid paper which totally makes this card!

With Heartfelt Sympathy

Hello & Happy Friday!

The weekend is here!
Last night we had some pretty heavy rains come thru and yesterday our high temp hit 68 degrees!
I even slept with the bedroom window open last night because the house was kinda stuffy.
Today we still have rain and it's dreary & foggy out. Tomorrow they are calling for...2-5 inches of snow. Blah! Winter, I am SO over you! I noticed yesterday that my daffodils are popping up and that only means one thing....Spring is coming!

Today I have a set of cards made for my customer.
She told me a story about a family who recently lost their mother and now the youngest son passed away from cancer at age 45. I delivered her order to her last evening and she told me who the cards are for and I was sad to learn it was a longtime family of my hometown. The parents are now gone and there are a number of children. The siblings that are living yet are all girls so she wanted a card geared towards a man. This is what I made her...

I stamped my trees in Soft Suede because I wanted them to be a soft color and nothing bold.
And since I wanted something simple so I went back to my old days of when we first learned about tearing. It gives a different look and texture to a card. I did not add any ribbon, twine or bows. Just my sentiment and left them at that.

Card Details:

Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Simply Sketched (retired)
Ink: Soft Suede
Cardstock: Thick Very Vanilla, Soft Suede, Soft Suede Patterned DSP (retired), Very Vanilla
Accessories: Large Oval & Scallop Oval Punches, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Such a sad occasions to make a card for but I really cannot help liking these alot!

Happy Birthday, Dad

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend!

I ment to update yesterday but the day got away from me! I sat yesterday morning and designed a bunch of cards to make for 2 friends & I in a few weeks. We've been wanting to get together and just make some cards and have fun since it's been quite awhile since we've done this. I figured this would be a great idea once the weather started to cool down. I designed 4 cards yesterday and cut everything we would need for those projects. I will share those after we have our little get together in a few weeks!

Anyways, today is my Dad's 82nd birthday and I could not let it go until I made a card and sent it to him. Although it has been 2 1/2 years since I have last seen him I still want him to know I think of him everyday and wanted to wish him a nice birthday!

Here is the card I made for him.

I rushed to get this made and grab some pictures before running it to the mailbox. Sadly, I missed the mail lady that day but I still hope he got it on time!
I had borrowed my friend's Lovely As A Tree stamp set and decided to make this card for Dad. I used sentiments from Papertreyink.

Happy Birthday, Dad Card:

Stamps: Woodgrain Background Stamp, Lovely As A Tree, Papertreyink
Ink: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Garden Green & Early Espresso SU Markers
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Garden Green, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Trim the Tree DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Hexagon Punch (flag ends), Early Espresso 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Multipurpose Liquid Glue

A quick & simple masculine card for Dad.
I hope he has a special day!

Happy birthday, Dad!

Merriest of Wishes

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope everyone is doing well.
I got some stamping in on Friday & Saturday since it rained and boy, did it ever rain!
Thankfully it brought some nice weather for a day or 2 but now we are back to the hot & humid stuff.

Today I have a set of cards I made for Christmas using the Lovely As A Tree stamp set.
Take a look...

Do you know this stamp set is the longest running stamp set that Stampin Up has had out?
Unfortunately I do not own it and borrowed it from a friend. It makes some very pretty cards for almost any occasion!

Merriest of Wishes Card Set:

Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Merriest Wishes (retired 2016)
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Accessories: Softly Falling EF, Large Oval & Scallop Oval Punches, Silver Ribbon ( retired SAB 2017), Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I'm slowly trying to get some Christmas cards made but it's tough to think about the holidays when it's 80 & 90 degrees outside! It's safe to say that I am ready for some Fall weather! Who's with me?
