Merry Monday Week #5

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope your all doing well!! It was a busy but fun weekend here at the Aungst Residence. Saturday, we went to my parent's house to celebrate my older brother, Greg's 52nd birthday. We were there early in the afternoon till late that nite and I was pooped till my head hit the pillow! My Mom planned all these games that we all could play on the Wii and her & my Dad thought up to have prizes and a door prize. Needless to say, Shawn, Kelsey & Ryan all walked away with envelopes with a few bucks in them and then Shawn's name was pulled for the door prize! It was so fun and great to see the whole family having many laughs!

So, as you know, last week Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper chose my card for the Merry Monday Winner Week #3! I was so excited! This week I am Guest Designing for the Merry Monday Week #5 Challenge. Take a look below at Lesley's sketch & my sample for the week!

I wasn't quite sure what to do this week for the challenge. So, I went looking thru my Christmas stash and found these felt holly & berries from Stampin Up! These were a birthday gift from my dear friend, Vicki Burdick a few months back and I never did anything with them because of moving & getting settled into our new home before the holidays. I grabbed my matching Holly Berry Bouquet DSP and it all came together nicely! :)
I hope you like my card and i'd like to Thank Lesley for this opportunity to Guest Design this week!!! I am having ALOT of fun!! :)

Merry Monday Week #5 Challenge Card:

Stamps: Sentiment from Contempo Christmas
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Holly Berry Bouquet DSP
Accessories: Sweet N Sassy Scallop Die, Circle Nestibilities, Wild Wasabi Grosgrain, Stamp A Ma Jig, Gold Beads, Hot Glue, Scor Tape

Well, after a fun weekend it's time to get started on doing the housework.
It's not as fun as stamping but someone's gotta do it!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great Monday!!!

Color & Sketch Challenges Combined

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope your all having a great day!

I got around to doing some stamping today since I didn't yesterday! We got word of our new car getting to the car dealership and the rest of day got away from me! We actually traded in both of our cars for 2 new ones so tonight we will go pick up the other one! I was alittle down about getting rid of the truck & Winky (our Muraski (purple) 2010 Scion xB) but our truck is only 2 wheel drive and did not go anywhere in the snow and God knows living in PA we "usually" get lots of the white stuff and need something to get us around. And then Winky, well, she's been an awfully good car and so pretty at that! We decided to trade them both in and get a 2012 Scion xD (which is smaller than the xB) and get the 2012 Release Series Hot Lava xB. Around here we love our Scions! LOL I posted a pic of it at the end of this post so check it out and tell me what you think! We're trying to come up with a name for it and if you have something in mind....please let me know!

Anyways, I got to stamp today!
I combined yesterday's Color Challenge 359 and today's Sketch Challenge 369. The colors are: Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade & Basic Black with the dessert option of using 2 different embossing folders (which I took advantage of)!
Below is the layout & my sample....take a look!

Color Challenge 359 & Sketch Challenge 369 Card:

Stamps: Bold Blossom (set #9)
Ink: Poppy Parade (SU Marker), Lucky Limeade, Memento Black
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade, Basic Black, Neenah White
Accessories: SU Elegant Lines & Square Lattice EF., Scallop Trim Border Punch, Tag Nestibilities, Lucky Limeade Ribbon, Kaiser White Pearls, Hot Glue, Scor Tape

So, here will be our new hot rod, well one of them!

We pick it up tonight! I'll share pictures of the other one soon!

Well, hope you liked my card for today!
That's all for me! Time to go get supper started then off to pick up the new buggy!
Thank you for stopping by & have a great day!

Door Wreath

Hello & Happy Sunday, friends!

Today while watching football I sat at my stamp table and decided to make a card that I have been wanting to make except that my MS Fern Punch had broken on me out in Joplin and I have not been able to find one to replace it. Then I had seen my friend, Carol, from over at Our Little Inspirations posted a card awhile back that I commented on and wished I was able to find that punch to make that card. She kindly emailed me and sent me a link as to where I could purchase that punch. I was so grateful!!! :) I had waited a few weeks till Christmas was over to go and order the punch. I actually ordered 2 so I would not ever have to worry about finding another one! LOL My punches arrived this past week and I have been thinking about that card ever since! Today was the day I tried my hand at it....take a look!

I love the look of the wreath on the door and incase your wondering about the shiny gold piece at the bottom....it reminded me of a gold plated kick plate that are on the bottom of doors and I thought the bottom just needed something! I added little gold beads on the wreath that was punched out with the MS Fern Punch and used a bigger gold bead for the door knob. Lastly, I added a scrap piece of gold metallic ribbon and my sentiment and called it down!
What do you think of it? I love it! And the best part is...it did not take long to make!

Another Christmas card for my pile! :)

Door Wreath Card:

Stamps: Sentiment from Penny Black
Ink: Tim Holtz Antique Linen, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, PTI White, Old Olive, Shiny Gold Paper
Accessories: MS Fern Punch, Gold Beads, Circle Punches, Gold Metallic Ribbon, Sponge, Scor Tape, Multi Liquid Glue

Well, that's all for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Another Pocket Card

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

I'm alittle under the weather today so I decided to pass on doing the Sketch Challenge this week. Maybe tomorrow if my headache goes away i'll attempt it.
The card i'm sharing today I made a week or so ago and never got to post it. Most know that I participate in a Holiday Craft Show every November & December so I have to make three times the amount of Christmas cards till November gets here. I really enjoy making pocket cards so here is another one that just took shape one day when I sat down and started coloring my image.

The image is from Forever Friends. Not a company here in the USA but overseas. I ordered a bunch of stamps from this company a few years ago and absolutely LOVE coloring them and making them into a card. I used more retired Dashing DSP on this and i'm sure you'll be seeing more of it as my pack is getting down there. I'm really trying to use up what I have before I order more holiday papers.

Forever Friends Pocket Card:

Stamps: Forever Friends, Sentiment from PaperTreyInk (PTI)
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Real Red, Old Olive, GP White, Dashing DSP (retired)
Accessories: Corner Rounder Punch, Button, 1/8 Old Olive Taffeta Ribbon, Hot Glue, Glue Pen, Ultrafine Glitter, MS Jumbo Snowflake Punch, Pearl Brad, 2 Tags Die from SU, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for now!
Hope you all have a great day!

Color Challenge 358

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

It's Color Challenge day over at SCS.
The colors are: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink & Pink Pirouette.
Pretty colors for a Valentine's Day card, wouldn't you say?!!

I had one heck of a time getting a good picture of my card today because I used embossing folders instead of any stamps. It's really hard to pick that up and hopefully you can see it.
Overall, I do like the card. I have all these embossing folders that I really need to use! It was pretty quick & simple which is a good thing since I got this sinus headache thing going on again. I guess with our weather being so back & forth it's hard to shake it.

Color Challenge 358 Card:

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Cardstock: Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Pink Pirouette, Neenah White
Accessories: Sizzix Embossing Folders, MS Heart Border Punch, Silver Heart Button, Pretty in Pink 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Hot Glue, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Santa Pocket Card

Hello & Happy Thursday!!

Hope you all had a great day!
I made my way to my stamp room to make something for me for a change! I checked the challenge on SCS and it wasn't calling my name so I did not participate. Instead, I made a pocket card with a Santa image from my box. I will need tons of Christmas cards come the end of the year so it won't hurt to get workin on them. I absolutely love Christmas and enjoy making cards for it!

Pocket cards are so easy to make and this past year I started using them to attach a gift card. On this card I used some scraps of Holiday Treasures DSP along with some Riding Hood Red & Chocolate Chip cardstock. I used my 2 Tags Die from Stampin Up for the tag that pulls out of the pocket and added my sentiment that I cut out with my Oval & Oval Scallop Nestibilties, Lastly, I added Riding Hood Red Grosgrain and some glitter to my Santa's hat.

Santa Pocket Card:

Stamps: Jolly Ole St Nick
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Chocolate Chip, PTI White, Holiday Treasures DSP
Accessories: 2 Tags Die, Oval & Oval Scallop Nestibilities, Riding Hood Red Grosgrain, Hot Glue, Kaiser Red Beads, Glue Pen, Ultrafine Glitter, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Before I go, I want to give another shout out to my sweet little doggie, Fluffy on her 14th birthday today! Also my stamp girl, Deb R is celebrating her birthday too! Happy Birthday to both of them! :)

Well, that is all for tonight!
Watching some tv and heading off to bed shortly!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Sketch Challenge 367

Hello again, friends!

Today is Sketch Challenge day at SCS and Korin from Sweet & Sassy Stamps threw out to us today's layout. It's a really easy one too!

My card I made for today's challenge I made for my Bichon, Fluffy, who will turn 14 years old tomorrow! We love her with all our hearts and she is the sweetest dog you could ever have! We know she's getting up there in years so each & every day is precious and I hate to think of the day we lose her. Her health is still good other than her Syncope episodes which will get addressed soon when she goes for her 3 year rabies shot. She sleeps alot more than she use to but still loves her walks in the park! I can only hope we have a few more years with her! <3

Here is the layout and my card for Fluffy's 14th birthday!

I chose these colors from the dog bone ribbon that I had in my stash forever!

Sketch Challenge 367 Card:

Stamps: Bow Wow (set #5), Sentiment is computer generated
Ink: Memento Black
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Neenah White
