Color Challenge 415

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

It's Color Challenge Day over at SCS and since I was up at the crack of 4 I decided to get my supper in the crock pot for tonight then head down to make my card for the day!

Here are the colors and my card:

More Mustard, Old Olive & Midnight Muse

These colors screamed "fall" to me so I went with a "fall" birthday card.
This was quick & easy for me and came together quite nicely.

Color Challenge 415 Card:

Stamps: French Foliage, Woodgrain Background, Curly Cute
Ink: Old Olive, More Mustard, Midnight Muse
Cardstock: Midnight Muse, More Mustard, Old Olive, Very Vanilla
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF, Button, Linen Thread, Glue Dot, 2 Sided Tape

That is all for me today!
Probably gonna head back to bed for a few more Zzzzzz's then. Rain is coming in today so it will be a good day to sleep!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Freshly Made Sketches #74...too late!

Hello again!

Today, I made my way to my stamp room for most of the day! I had a pile of cards from workshops & parties that needed to have inside sayings put in them then I wanted to finish up my card I started last week for the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge. I had it done around noon today but waited to upload it tonight and realized the challenge closed already.

I made this cute card for my brother & sister in law's dog, Winston (named after the Winston Cup in NASCAR)! He has been undergoing radiation treatments in Maryland for cancer since the end of January and has started his 4th week today. Last week was alittle rough on him. He has an aggressive type of cancer in his mouth and gets radiation 4 times a week for 4 weeks with the possibility of a couple of chemotherapy treatments next. Last week Winston started drooling profusely which they say is normal and he's having a hard time eating his dog food. So, I wanted them to know I am thinking of them & sending prayers for Winston on his road to recovery. He's such a sweet laid back dog...

Here are a few pics of Winston taken last summer....

I started this card last week to go along with the Dynamic Duos Challenge # 40 with the colors of Tempting Turquoise & Basic Black. Today I found my way back to finish it...sadly too late for either challenge. Oh well...

Thinking of You, Winston...Card:

Stamps: Penny Black, Sassy Salutations (sentiment)
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Basic Black, Tempting Turqoise, PTI White
Accessories: SU Top Note Die, Dog Paws EF from Darice, Dog Clip, Ribbon from Amuse, Black Brads, 2 Sided Tape

So, that is all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

I colored my image with Copic Markers and used my glue pen & glitter for all the stars. I used my SU Snow Burst EF and the Pink & Turquoise color combo. My sentiment comes from a Hero Arts set.

St Patrick's Day Candy Purses

Hello & Happy Friday!

So happy the weekend is upon us but for the 4th Friday in a row they are calling for some wintery weather here in PA. I think it's to be a little icy here tonight then rain for tomorrow. I'm gonna try to do some work in my stamp room while the weather outside is going to be yukky! I want to do some rearranging of all my million and one stamps and need to pick up some magnetic sheets to redo my Nestibilities and Framelits.

Anyways, I have Dominic for a short time this afternoon but before I go get my day started I wanted to share with you these St Patrick's Day Candy Purses I made. I love making these now that I have done so for Christmas & Valentine's Day. I will probably do some for Easter too!

I stamped my wrapper image on Whisper White cardstock and cut each wrapper out. They are 1'X 3" and I placed a piece of Scotch Double Sided Tape on the one end and wrapped around the Hershey Nugget.

St. Patrick's Day Candy Purses:

Stamps: Lucky Shamrock (retired), It's a Wrap Holidays (retired)
Ink: Garden Green
Cardstock: Garden Green, SU Whisper White, The Paper Studio DSP
Accessories: SU Top Note Die, Circle Punches, Ribbon from my stash, Green Rhinestone, White Stitched Grosgrain from SU, Small Cell Bag (retired), Scotch Double Sided Tape, Liquid Multi Mono, Dimensionals

I love these! I'm still in the process of making a few more things for St. Patrick's Day so stay tuned.

Last week I was playing around with a jigsaw puzzle and thought i'd share it with you!
I love putting these together as a stress reliever and for something different to do. This one came from a huge box with 10 different sized puzzles in from Thomas Kincade. I have 2 more finished that I will share once I get them photographed.

Well folks, that's all for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Color Challenge 414

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

What a lazy day for me! Still lounging in my pajama's and the thought of getting a shower is making me shiver! LOL It's a cold, snowy/rainy day here in PA and i'm just not in the mood to get moving. Guess I soon have too....my hubby will be home from work and supper needs made. *sigh*

Today I spent the day in my stamp room. I had my card ready for today's Color Challenge from over at SCS but then my battery in camera decided to die and I had to wait 2 hours for it to charge. Still not sure it's completely charged!
So here are the colors for today challenge:

These colors screamed masculine to me so that's what I went with.
I pulled out my box of masculine stamps and went with this one from Inkadinkadoo! I don't know that i've ever used it before. I used my wood grain embossing folder for the background. Using an embossing folder was today's dessert option. The rest is self explanatory! I really like this one!

Color Challenge 414 Card:

Stamps: Cabin from Inkadinkadoo, Itty Bitty Banners
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Certainly Celery, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Tim Holtz Woodgrain EF, Linen Thread, Itty Bitty Framelits, Button, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that's all for today!
I hear the shower calling my name then it'll be time to cook!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

They went snow tubing then went out for a nice dinner. We were happy to help out with the little one. He's such a good little boy!

So, today it's time for another challenge from Lesley over at Always Playing With Paper. She gave us a challenge of making an elegant card.....

Happy Valentine's Day!

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Today is the day of love! Happy Valentine's Day!
Last week one day I sat down and created a little something for the girls for this occasion. I picked up a couple pairs of heart socks for Valentine's Day. Kelsey, Kirsten & I all have different holiday socks that we wear so I thought they'd get a kick out of some Valentine's ones too!
I pulled my color combo from the colors that were in the socks and I drew inspiration from the fabulous LeAnne Pugliese on a cute bag she made last week that can be seen here! Her embossed heart and pretty roses just sang to me! Mine is no where as beautiful as her's but i'n very happy with how these cello bag toppers turned out! Thank you for your inspiration, LeAnne!

I gave these to the girls on Sunday when we had an afternoon "game day".  Kirsten surprisingly went nuts over them! She loved the roses, the different embossing and the sparkly rhinestone on them. Kelsey liked the socks themselves and I bet she'll be wearing them today! :)

Valentine Socks:

Stamps: PS. I Love You
Ink: Rose Red
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, White
Accessories: Medium Cello Bag, Stapler, Roses, Lg Heart Punch, Fancy Fan EF, Sizzix Heart EF, Pink Rhinestone, Modern Label Punch, 1' Circle Punch, Liquid Multi Mono, Dimensional

You'll have to come back for St Patrick's Day! I found some socks for that holiday too that I know will make Kelsey laugh! Can't wait to share them!

Does anyone have any special plans for Valentine's Day?
My hubby asked me out to dinner but I declined because the restaurants are like crazy on this day. We usually do a nice dinner with the kids so that is the plan for us! I'm thinking of making something sweet for dessert....any suggestions??

Well, I need to go get my day started.
Thanks for stopping by!
Hope you have a sweet day!

We're expecting some snow this evening but I have a feeling it's just gonna be rain for us.

Today is sketch challenge day over at SCS.

Color Challenge 413

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Today is Color Challenge day over at SCS. The colors this week are:
Lucky Limeade, Tangerine Tango & Whisper White.

I went thru a few packs of designer paper to get inspiration today. I found this very pretty paper in a pack of the Floral District DSP. I probably would have never known it was there if I would not have flipped it over. I punched my white flower with the Posy Punch and the center comes from the Mixed Bunch stamp set. The tag is the dessert option this week and I made mine with some Tangerine Tango cardstock and used the Tag Corner Punch to make it look like a tag. I embossed the tag with the Fancy Fan Embossing Folder for interest. I added some Sizzix Little Leaves to my flower and popped it up with dimensionals. My DSP is layered with a piece of Lucky Limeade cardstock and adhered to my white card base. I stamped my sentiment in Tangerine Tango and added some rhinestones. The inside I use a small piece of this pretty DSP and put my saying in it. Took some time but I love the result!

Color Challenge #413 Card:

Stamps: Perfectly Penned
Ink: Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade
Cardstock: White, Lucky Limeade, Tangerine Tango, Floral District DSP
Accessories: Posy Punch, 1' Circle Punch, Tag Corner Punch, Sizzix Little Leaves Die, Fancy Fan EF, Silver Circle Clip, White Ribbon, Rhinestones, Dimensioanls, Liquid Multi Mono, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that's all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by and leaving such nice comments! I so appreciate them!
Have a great day!

Dynamic Duos #39

Hello again!

WOW, i'm amazed that this is my 2nd post of the day! That doesn't happen too often!

I got my housework done as quick as possible today because I wanted to get down to my stamp table to get an Anniversary card made for my parents. They were married on Valentine's Day, 54 years ago. So since I needed to get this done to put in the mail I went over to the Dynamic Duos Challenge and got to work. Here are this week's colors....

I went with this Have A Seat set because my mom seen a card on my card rack done with this bench and she made such a fuss over it. She has 2 deacons benches in her house. One she had since she was married and the other was my grandmother's who had passed away 7 years ago. Grandma's looks just like this one! I know she will be so surprised when she opens my card and sees this bench!

DD#39 Card:

Stamps: Have A Seat, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Pool Party, Neenah White, Pink Pirouette, Pink Pirouette DSP Stack
Accessories: Circle Nestibilities, Itty Bitty Framelits, White Pearls, Small Heart Punch, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

I also used the sketch for Seize The Birthday Challenge but it won't qualify for the challenge because I made it an Anniversary card.

ETA:
This Anniversary card was chosen as an Honourable Mention over at the Dynamic Duos Challenge Blog!

Well, I need to get it in the mail.
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Merry Monday Week #49

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
It's time for another challenge from Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper. This week she gave us a sketch to help us get those Christmas cards made. I thought it was pretty easy and whipped out a card in no time!
Here we go.....

I made my card into a normal sized card instead of the bigger size that is in the sketch. The bigger sizes cost more to mail so to keep costs down I went smaller. I love this week's sketch and my card!

Merry Monday Week#49 Card:

Stamps: Open Sleigh
Ink: Early Espresso, Island Indigo
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Festival of Prints DSP
Accessories: Labels Framelits, MS Baker's Twine, Button, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

Please stop by Lesley's blog to see what the other Merry Makers have created this week. Lots of amazing stuff! :)

Color Challenge 412

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope you all are having a great day!
I spent my afternoon today watching the Ravens Parade on tv. Baltimore welcomed them back with a huge parade and a party at the M&T Stadium. It was something to see and kept me glued to the tube for 3 hours! I tried talking Shawn into taking the day off so we could go to it since he works in Baltimore but he said he's dedicated to his job!

So, tonight I made my way downstairs to play in the Color Challenge from SCS.
The colors are: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake & Basic Black.

Not the best pictures but you get the idea!
I love the soft look of this with the pop of black, very pretty!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #48

Hello & Happy Monday!

Time for another Merry Monday Challenge from Lesley at Always Playing With Paper! This week she gave us a color challenge and I love my card but I have to say I struggled a bit!
Here are the colors and my card....

I truely think it was the Pumpkin Pie color that kept throwing me off. It's just not a Christmas color. I went looking & looking thru my million & one stamps then it hit me to use this sweet little penguin from Sweet n Sassy Stamps. I was able to get all 3 colors within this one little image. I added the sentiment and some Pumpkin Pie 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon and called it done. Did anyone else struggle with these colors?

Merry Monday Challenge Week #48 Card:

Stamps: Sweet n Sassy Stamps, Sentiment from Micheal's $1 Stamp
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Neenah White, Basic Gray
Accessories: SU Snow Burst EF, Pumpkin Pie 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Rhinestones, Glue Pen, Glitter, Dimensionals, Liquid Mono Multi, 2 Sided Tape

Hope you can stop by Lesley's blog and see what the other Merry Makers have created this week! Their cards are awesome!

Well, that is all for me today!
It was a late nite last night with the Super Bowl and I didn't get to bed till about 1 AM. I overslept this morning that's why the late blog update this morning but happy the Ravens won! WooHoo!
Time to get this day started!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Peanut Butter & Strawberry Jelly Time!

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!
We woke up today to a snowy winter wonderland. It's so pretty to look out onto the hillside behind our house. The snow paints such a pretty picture! We had about 2 inches and already our road has been plowed and Shawn shoveled the driveway. The sun is shining brightly but there are still flurries flying around. Calling for more snow today and tomorrow but nothing big.

So, as i'm finishing up laundry today, I popped downstairs in between loads and got inky with my new Sweet n Sassy stamp set called You & Me! I was at L&L Stamps yesterday and this set + 2 others grabbed my eye but this one made it's way home with me. Hope you like my card....

I also got this designer paper there as well but I can't remember at the moment who makes it. As I was making this card the song, Peanut Butter Jelly Time kept going thru my mind! LOL My sandwich is Peanut Butter & Strawberry Jelly today!

You & Me Card:

Stamps: You & Me from Sweet n Sassy Stamps

Cardstock: Primrose Petals, Neenah White, DSP

Free 4 All Challenge 154

Hello & Happy TGIF!

I was up earlier than usual today so I took advantage of some time to go play along with the Free 4 All Challenge over at SCS. I haven't played along with this challenge in a long time but when I seen we were to use a heart on our cards I thought i'd take the opportunity to make another Valentines cards.

Didn't take long to make this one and that's the kind i'm finding myself making anymore.
Complication doesn't fit in to my schedule these days! LOL

Free 4 All Challenge 154 Card:

Stamps: Love Heart, Perfectly Penned
Ink: Regal Rose
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Neenah White
Accessories: Lg Heart Punch, Scallop Heart Embosslit, Regal Rose 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, White Pearl, Liquid Multi Mono, 2 Sided Tape

I like the look of my monochromatic card just wish my picture would have been a bit better.

Last night I picked up my glasses and boy, what an adjustment! I wore them home and I felt funny in the head the rest of the night. I'm gonna go very slow on wearing them now. Progressive no line bifocals are gonna take ALOT of getting use to!!

Well, that's all for now!
Little Dominic will be here shortly and I need to grab some lunch yet.
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!
