Old Glory

Good Morning & Happy Sunday!

Hope your all having a nice weekend!
Yesterday, it was so muggy that I stayed in my pj's and stamped the day away!
Well, atleast until the storms came then I showered and we hit up the grocery store for a couple things! After supper I went back to clean up my mess and make room for another stamper.
Deb is coming over today to stamp a bit. We both need some girl time & some stamp therapy!
I have been working at my table for the last few days making Christmas cards using lots & lots of old retired stuff. I dug Frosty out the other day and inked him up! He was my very 1st Christmas stamp!
I used some old paper as well and loved every minute of it!

So before my day gets going I wanted to share my last 4th of July cards I made this past week.
I used an old set called Old Glory!

That big ole star was stamped and then fussy cut which was easy since the lines are pretty straight.
I am not a fussy cutting type of person but I was giddy when this was easily cut out!
It was popped up with Dimensionals and then I added the little "Celebrate" tag.
The stripes were stamped on a slant to add some interest.
Lastly I added some red rhinestones for sparkle.
I love how vibrant the colors are!

Card Details:

Stamps: Old Glory (retired)
Ink: Night of Navy, Real Red
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White
Accessories: Itty Bitty Framelits (retired), Red Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I had SO much fun pulling out my old stamps this past week and inking them up!
I went in search of a few idea's for these old ones but did not find much.
In the end I just left the creativity flow and the outcome was a surprising one!
Very happy with all my July 4th cards and even happier that they have all been mailed out in time for the recipient to get before the holiday! WooHoo!
That never happens!

Freshly Made Sketches #394

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Man, what a week it has been!
I don't know about you but i'm glad the weekend is here!

Today I have another 4th of July card to share made using this week's Freshly Made Sketches challenge. This one was really easy and so much fun to create!

First off I have to say that I have no idea where this beautiful heart image came from.
It was printed off my computer years ago and stored with my July 4th stamps.
I colored it with Copic Markers and fussy cut it out.
The button has a coating of clear Wink of Stella on it for sparkle.

Card Details:

Stamps: Heart- unknown, Papertreyink- Vintage Baskets
Ink: Real Red, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Blueberry Bushel, Blueberry Bushel DSP (retired)
Accessories: Banner Punch (retired), Clear Wink of Stella, En Route Enamel Dots (retired), Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Loved this sketch!
Just what I needed to get that last card created!
Hope you like!

Tuesday Morning Sketches #509

Hello & Happy Friday!

Glad the weekend is here!
It's been really hot, hazy & humid here in PA the last few days.
My air conditioning is working overtime thru this kind of humidity.
I've been hibernating downstairs working on some challenges and staying cool.
I'm on a roll with making July 4th cards and I used this week's Tuesday Morning Sketches for my cards today!

Here is the sketch and my samples...

This stamp is my most loved stamp to use for the July 4th holiday!
It was designed in 2001 for 911 as a way to raise funds for the incidents that happened that day.
I use this stamp every chance I get because it's a day we will never forget!
It was perfect for this week's sketch, don't you think?

Card Details:

Stamps: God Bless America (retired-911 Stamp)
Ink: Blueberry Bushel & Real Red Stampin Write Markers
Cardstock: Real Red, Blueberry Bushel, Whisper White
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Darice Stars EF, Red Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

If you get a chance check out their blog, Tuesday Morning Sketches and play along!
They always have awesome sketches!

Retro Rubber Challenge #113

Hello & Happy Thursday!

This week sure is sailing along!

Today I have a set of cards to share that I made for the July 4th holiday!
I used a new to me challenge called Retro Rubber Challenge and it's one that I may just play along with because I have so many old retired stamps that could benefit from a good inking! LOL

Here is their challenge and my samples....

I used an oldie but a goodie from 1999 called Happy Fourth.

This stamp set retired in 2003 but has stayed in my collection since.
I sat and did some old school stamping but first I had to take the rubber off the coordinating wheel (remember those kind of stamps?) and put cushion on it so I could use it more easily on an acrylic block.
I inked it with Real Red ink and stamped my entire card base with it several times until it was covered.

My main panel I stamped all the images from the stamp set like I was making my own DSP.
That was quite fun!
I've not made a card with this stamp set since i'm guessing maybe 2002-03 and it felt wonderful to ink this lovely set up once again!

Card Details:

Stamps: Happy Fourth (retired), Stars & Stripes Wheel (retired)
Ink: Real Red, Night of Navy
Cardstock: Real Red, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Accessories: Circle Layering Framelits, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I hope you liked my cards!
I love pulling out the old ones and breathing new life into them again!

The Paper Players Challenge 447

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Yesterday, my dear sweet husband had that nagging tooth pulled!
The oral surgeon said it was definitely cracked and did fall apart as he was pulling it out.
He has quite the deep hole in the back now which in time will heal.
It was a bottom back molar that has been giving him grief for the last year and a half.
All along they think it was cracked and just not showing on x-rays.
I am sure in a few days he will feel SO much better and happy that this whole experience is now behind him!

Anyways, last evening he slept so while he was resting I ran off to my stamp table.
This week The Paper Players Challenge has a sketch for us!

I love how simple this sketch was and that it took me literally 10 minutes to whip this up!
I wanted to make a card for Shawn to fill out and send to the surgeon for everything they did for him this week. They got him in quickly which is sometimes not an easy task!
I wanted to use some Magnolia Lane DSP and my sentiment came from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.

Card Details:

Stamps: Butterfly Gala
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Cardstock: Mossy Meadow, Petal Pink, Whisper White, Magnolia Lane DSP
Accessories: Be Mine Stitched Framelits, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

So easy!
Thanks to the ladies from The Paper Players for another awesome challenge!
I have been enjoying them!

Please keep your fingers crossed that all goes smoothly!

I stamped a bit yesterday afternoon while he was doing work stuff.
I wanted to play along with the As You See It Challenge.

Here is their challenge and my samples....

I don't think I need to explain anything here....

I've always had a thing for blues....like royal blue, navy blue or baby blue.
That's my color!

Card Details:

Stamps: Custom Tee (retired)
Ink: Blueberry Bushel
Cardstock: Blueberry Bushel, Balmy Blue, Whisper White, Blueberry Bushel DSP (retired)
Accessories: T Shirt Builder Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Hope you liked my card today!
It was a fun challenge to play along with!

Freshly Made Sketches #393

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a nice weekend!
My hubby went the dentist today just to make sure the tooth can be extracted tomorrow.
He's still taking pain medicine and antibiotics and now they added Ibuprofen to the cocktail.
He is miserable and not happy to be missing work!!

This morning I popped down to my stamp table to create a quick card for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. I'm working on making some July 4th cards this week and today's sketch was perfect for the set I wanted to use!!

I pulled out an old retired SU set called, Star Spangled Day!
It requires lots of coloring which is not one of my favorite things to do but I got the job done.

Card Details:

Stamps: Star Spangled Day (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin Blends, Real Red
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Night of Navy, Real Red, Whisper White
Accessories: Circle Layering Framelits, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

The inside says:

Wishing you a Star Spangled Day!

Perfect for July 4th, don't ya think?

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hello & Happy Sunday!

I hope your all enjoying your weekend!
The weather here in PA is absolutely gorgeous!
I sure wish my hubby was feeling better because it's the perfect weather for bike riding!
He has been plagued this past week with tooth pain.
Friday they figured out it was the tooth he had a root canal done on in February of 2018.
He's had issues with it since and x-rays are not showing anything.
A specialist that he seen Friday afternoon said the tooth has a hairline crack in it and it needs to come out! Also gave him antibiotics & pain medicine but getting it filled at the pharmacy was another story! If all goes smoothly he will have the tooth removed on Tuesday.
Poor guy, I hated seeing him in so much pain! Toothache pain is the absolute worst!

Anyways, since my hubby slept the afternoon away yesterday I decided to go check out the Tuesday Morning Sketches blog and play along!

Here is the sketch and my card...

I have not made a single Christmas card since last year and felt this sketch would work well for one!
I dug thru paper and stamps until I found what I wanted to use!
Dashing Deer and the Detailed Deer Thinlits have carried over into the new catalog so that's what I went with. I love this deer stamped in Tranquil Tide!

Card Details:

Stamps: Dashing Deer
Ink: Tranquil Tide
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Tranquil Tide, Copper Foil, Whisper White, Joyous Noel DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Sprig Punch, White Pearl, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

A fun & easy sketch!

Festive Friday Challenge #36

Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

Today I have a card to share that I created for the Festive Friday Challenge.
June & July are my slow months for card orders so I have been able to play along with lots of challenges in the last 2 weeks!

I like to send out July 4th cards so this worked well for me!

I have been wanting to try making this kind of card for awhile.
My card uses the flowers from the retired Too Kind stamp set.
The flowers used upside down look like fireworks!

I used my Real Red & Pacific Point Stampin Write Markers to color my stamp.
Then I flicked each marker onto my card to give it that splattered look.
I added some small rhinestones for a pop of sparkle.

Card Details:

Stamps: Too Kind (retired), Sumthin Sumthin (retired)
Ink: Real Red, Pacific Point & Real Red Stampin Write Markers
Cardstock: Pacific Point, Real Red, Whisper White, The Paper Studio (patterned paper)
Accessories: Oval Layering Framelits, Pacific Point Enamel Star (retired), Pacific Point Stitched Ribbon (retired), Mini Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I decorated the inside as well as the envelope.
All I have to do is sign it and send it on it's way!

Super fun challenge!

I went to check out what The Paper Players had going this week and decided to play along with Claire's challenge!

I had to dig very deep to find a summer beverage in my stash but I found my strawberry daquiri!

My drink comes from an old set called Happy Hour!
We all like happy hour, right?
