Hello & Happy TGIF!
It's hard to believe that we are already at the end of January 2016! The time just flies by so quickly anymore!
As most know a week ago today it started to snow shortly after supper time. It continued to snow for over 24 hours and we got socked with 34 inches of snow here in Red Lion. The most this area has ever seen from one storm. A week later people are continuing to dig out and the roads are starting to get a bit better. We've had brilliant sunshine most of this week to help melt it. While it was exciting to have a super dooper snow storm like we just experienced, the after affects are not as exciting. Snow just complicates everything and 34 inches really affects everything from the mail, the roads, to shoveling a spot for the doggies to go out to go potty and a simple trip to the store and where to park. We were under Snow Emergencies where you were not allowed to drive (which have since been lifted) and no where to go with this amount of snow. I can honestly say that I will be happy when it's all melted and the green grass appears again! Here are a few pictures from the digging out process....
Back porch
The roof had 6ft snow drifts on it. Shawn got up on the roof and shoveled most of it off because some people's roof's were collapsing from the weight of the snow. We ended up having snow piles higher than the bedroom windows!
This is Shawn snow blowing the driveway. Don't let that bright blue sky fool you, it was downright cold & very windy last Sunday! He was outside atleast 4 to 5 hours clearing the driveway, the front & back porches and the yard for the dogs.
Things are starting to look much better around here. You can actually see the street & driveway again and the snow on the roof has melted!
So during our blizzard I sat down and did some crafting for Valentine's Day. I promised i'd share what I made, so let's get to it!
I had these heart shaped tins in my stash since I first started stamping 15 years ago! I dug them out, covered them with paper and stamped a cute little heart for on top. I filled these with Hershey Hugs & Hershey Kisses and surprisingly I was able to get a good bit in them!
And lastly, I grabbed a pack of Reese's PB Hearts at the store and placed them in a cello bag and made a topper. Again I used this adorable Happy Valentines Day heart stamp for them! I really love this stamp...can ya tell??
Valentines Day Tins & Reese's PB Heart Bags:
Stamps: Happy Valentines Day Heart
Ink: Melon Mambo
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Whisper White, The Paper Studio DSP
Accessories: retired Heart Punch, Melon Mambo 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Rhinestones, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Liquid
I do have a few more things to show but will wait until another day!
Today I am thinking of heading downstairs to create some Tall Skinny Notepads.
I have committed to doing a small spring craft show in March that I will sell them at. I have not made anything else as of yet. Thankfully this one will not be as super big or as demanding as my Christmas shows. My hands just could not handle that right now.
Well, I hope you have enjoyed my Valentines Day goodies! I enjoyed making them but i'm still having a hard time getting motivated to stamp. Hopefully my mojo will soon return from vacation! HaHa!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!
