Our Creative Corner Challenge

Greetings from Joplin!

Hope your all having a great Saturday so far!
We had another bout of snow yesterday so there's more shoveling to do! Tomorrow more snow is in the forecast and then again mid week. Ok, so now i'm really feeling like the Pennyslvania weather followed me here. Joplin has not seen snows like this in many years!

Anyways, this morning I was up at daybreak so I hopped on to the Our Creative Corner Blog to check out today's challenge. A Clean and Simple card with a tree. Ok, sounds easy and for me it was even though I struggle with too much white space on a card. I've also became a person who loves layers so this in itself is a challenge for me! LOL

I went thru my image box and found some Lovely As A Tree images that I stamped of Deb's before leaving PA. Perfect choice for a masculine sympathy card. Take a look....

Ok, so this turned out to be pretty easy peasy for me and I really like it!
What do you think?

OCCC~ CAS & a Tree Card:

Stamps: Lovely As A Tree, Sentiment from Hero Arts
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, PTI White
Accessories: Corner Punch, Brown Gingham Ribbon. Scor Tape

Well, that's all for me today!
The shower is waiting and so is the dreaded grocery shopping.
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!
~Wendy

This is awesome Wendy! I too struggle with the CAS style! You pulled it off perfectly, Love the masculine feel with your pretty little bow, thanks so much for playing along with us at OCC.

Oh, I love your card!... and I've been looking for you! I had an old blog or something of yours and was trying to change it yesterday. Now I can. Thanks for your sweet comment! And thanks for joining us at Our Creative Corner!

Terrific job on our CAS with a Tree challenge! Your card came out great (you definitely had me with that gingham ribbon!). You think you struggled? I spent a couple of hours making a card for this challenge and then tossed it in the trash - it just wasn't working for me. Sorry you have so much snow! Send me a cold front - I was complaining that it was already 77 degrees here at 9:00 this morning.

Thanks so much for starting your Saturday with Our Creative Corner and then joining in the fun with our first entry. Hope to see you back again next week too!

Beautiful card - I love it! The punched corners add so much for such a simple thing. Lovely as a Tree is a can't-miss set and you used it beautifully! Thanks so much for playing along with the OCC!

Your tree card is just lovely! The soft and warm colors are perfect for this beautiful sympathy card.
I woke up this morning to the loud beeping sound of a large truck in reverse, so I looked out the window and saw something I've never seen before! We live on a hill, and the road was so icy, the salt truck was backing up the hill to salt because he couldn't go up frontwards without sliding all over the place! UNREAL! The PA turnpike was shut down for several hours today just above Reading because 5 semi's jack-knifed on the icy roads! More rain/snow in our forecast from Monday into Tuesday, and the potential exists for another BIG storm to hit here again on Thursday! If I could leave PA, I'd be gone to Hawaii in a heartbeat! LOL Stay warm!

Great CAS card Wendy! I too have trouble with CAS cards, mine always look to plain to me. Love that corner punch you used too!
