Color Challenge 438

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

It was a dreary, rainy morning here in south central PA. so I headed downstairs to play along with today's Color Challenge from over at SCS. The colors are:

Crushed Curry, Midnight Muse & Primrose Petals

Here is my sample:

I was never a fan of Crushed Curry when it was an In Color way back when so I decided to tackle this challenge and use my Crushed Curry since it is now one of colors in the Regals group. I went with my un-inked set called Topsy Turvy and a new one called Remembering Your Birthday, which I love the sayings in this set! I have always admired all the cards made with Topsy Turvy and now that I have used it on this card....I really love it! Hope you do too!

The dessert option today was to use a bow whether it be a bow tie, bow & arrow or a regular bow. I went with a bow image on the top of my cake and also a ribbon bow.

Well, that's all for today!
Yesterday something came over Ryan & I that we both felt sick in our stomach, so we ended up rescheduling his doctor appointment for next Monday. I was in bed for the rest of the day and today feel much better but have a pounding headache. Uggh, I so dislike not being 100%!
Let's hope tomorrow is a better day!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Merry Monday Week 69

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone is doing well.

Can you believe we are in the month of August already??!! Time is really flying by! Before you know it, it will be Christmastime!

I took a break the month of July. The Merry Monday gang had the month off unless they participated in the "Anything Goes" Challenge that Lesley set up. I decided to take the month off for some downtime and to work on Halloween & Christmas goodies. Craft show season will soon be upon me so I spent a great deal of time crafting. I'm pleased with my progress!

Now it's time to get back to normal and get the mojo flowing for our Merry Monday Challenge again! Lesley gave us a really great sketch this week so here we go!

I used up my last bit of designer paper that I had from Hobby Lobby. Sad that I used it but i've been working hard on using up my million pieces of scraps! The sparkly circles under the snowflakes are a glitter paper from Micheal's. The metal "Merry Christmas" plaque is from Making Memories from a few years back. Another flat card for easy mailing come Christmastime!

Hope you can stop by Lesley's blog to see what the other Merry Maker's have created this week and also to play along! Would love to see what you create!!

Well, that is all for me today!
Ryan has a doctor appointment this afternoon with the cancer doctor so i'm keeping my fingers crossed for good news!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Color Challenge 434

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Yippee Skippee! I got to spend another day in my stamp room! Once I get started I hate to leave but I needed to go get supper started so this gave me a few minutes to get my blog updated.
I popped over to SCS this afternoon to see what the colors were for today's Color Challenge 434.
 I had to play along!

The colors are: Crumb Cake, Gumball Green & Cherry Cobbler
With the dessert option of having Christmas in July!

I decided to do Christmas because afterall, I do Christmas all year long! I pulled out some Snow Festival DSP which has my colors in and covered a plastic fruit tray that had grapes in. I save these and decorate them for the holidays then add some White Chocolate Snack Mix in a cello bag. This makes a nice little gift for friends, family and neighbors!

I used Cherry Cobbler Sweater Trim from last year and made my loopy bow and hot glued an Antique Brad on top. I also used a Snow Festival Tag and added my stamped Merry Christmas sentiment along with some small rhinestones on the snowflakes. I'm pleased with my altered project today and look forward to filling this with yummy treats for the holidays!

Color Challenge #434:

Stamps: More Merry Messages
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, Snow Festival DSP
Accessories: Snow Festival Tag, Cherry Cobbler Sweater Trim, Antique Brad, Rhinestones, Hot Glue, Dimensionals, Hot Glue, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that is all for me today!
Now that supper is finished i'm going to head back down to create a bit longer!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

A Day of Case'ing

Hello & Happy Friday! TGIF!!!

I spent all day down in my stamp room today after I did some straightening up around the house.
I chose to case some cards I have on my Pinterest boards. I needed something to get the mojo to flow again!!! Some cards I changed up a bit and if I know who's card I case'd I will give that person credit. Here we go!

It felt good to sit and stamp the day away! I still have Baby Shower cards to work on and i'm not sure when I will get back to my table. Tomorrow, we have a Going Away Party for a very close friend. He is moving to Bradenton, Florida for a job within the company he works for. We're very proud of him and wish him the best of luck! Sunday, I will probably spend the day with my hubby. He went back to his job in Baltimore, MD the week after we came back from vacation for numerous reasons. This week will be stressful for him with adding a new line so i'm sure he will just want to relax. We talked about going to the movies to the see the Despicable Me 2 movie. It's looks cute! Hopefully Monday I can find my way back to stamping! Till then, Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful weekend! Stay cool, too!

Happy 4th of July!

Hello & Happy 4th of July, friends!

Hope everyone had a fabulous day!
I have spent alot of time this past week down in my stamp room creating. I love when nothing is distracting me and I can let the idea's flow. With the 4th of July coming, I spent last Saturday making a centerpiece for the kitchen table along with some little treats. I'd rather alter any items I can get my hands on rather than make a card sometimes. So here is my little project....

My pinwheel centerpiece I used an 29 oz peach can, washed & dried. I wrapped paper the whole way around. The paper I believe is from Taylor Expressions a few years back. It was a gift from a friend. Anyways, I used the same paper to make my pinwheels. I have the large & small dies from Lil Inkers. Once I had my pinwheels made I put a silver brad in the center and hot glued them onto a wooden skewer. I put some foam in the bottom of my can and placed some spanish moss over top to hide the foam. I stuck my skewers in the foam to hold them into place. Then I took a piece of Twill Tape and made a loopy bow and hot glued that on to my can. I was quite impressed once it was done..my family loved it!

Then the Hershey treats I used the snack size Hershey Bars that I found at the Dollar Tree. I wrapped all 3 in Red, White or Blue DSP and used 2 sided tape to close the paper around each candy bar. I then glued the 3 together and added my sentiment and a mini clothes pin that I added an glitter star too with some hot glue. I attached them to the candy bars with a dimensional and called them done.

Hope you like!

Well, that is all for me today!
Soon time to head to bed as Shawn has to work tomorrow. I plan to head to my stamp table to work on some cards for my card rack! :)

Thanks for stopping by & I hope everyone had a very nice 4th of July holiday!

Color Challenge & Sketch Challenge Combined....

Hello & Happy Thursday!

I finally found my way downstairs to stamp today! I wish life would not get in the way so much here lately because I love to create!

I am going to try hard to find my way back to working on some of my favorite challenges out there. I have been so side tracked in the last month or 2 and really miss the creative side of me.
Today, I popped over to SCS and checked out the Color Challenge 432 and combined it with yesterday's Sketch Challenge 442....so here we go!

The colors are:
Smokey Slate, Crushed Curry & Coastal Cabana

I do not have the new Stampin Up color, Smokey Slate...yet! I substituted Going Gray in it's place.

I needed a Thank You card so I used a new set called Best of Greetings. I love all the different sentiments & fonts in this set. The dessert option on the Color Challenge 432 is to use any type of embossing. I went with 2 different embossing folders.

CC432 & SC442 Card:

Stamps: Best of Greetings
Ink: Going Gray
Cardstock: Going Gray, Coastal Cabana, Crushed Curry, Neenah White
Accessories: Seeing Spots & Square Lattice Embossing Folders, Oval Nestibilities, Butterfly Embosslits, Going Gray Grosgrain, White Pearl, Hot Glue, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

Love this card I think mainly because I like these colors together! Reminds me of summer!

Well, that's all for today!
We have severe storms & tornado watches out for the rest of the day. Our weather has been quite hot & humid so any rain is a welcomed thing for our garden!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #68 & Jamaica

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
I spent most of the weekend with my kiddo's just hanging out at home. We had some much needed down time after traveling to & from Jamaica the week before. Spent some quiet time sitting out by the firepit under a beautiful full moon and also bought a newly released movie to watch called Oz. It sure was different than we thought it'd be but a good movie!

Anyways, today it's time to share with you a new sketch from Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper. So here we go...

A very fun & easy sketch this week! I used a scrap of Kaiser Kraft DSP that I had on hand along with some matching cardstock, rhinestones & ribbon. I also have been playing around with my Picaso photo program and realized that I probably should be wearing my glasses when I do this because some of these photo's are super bright! They may require wearing sunglasses to view! LOL

Merry Monday Week #68 Card:

Stamps: More Merry Messages
Ink: Early Espresso
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Early Espresso, Naturals Ivory, Kaiser Kraft DSP
Accessories: Snow Burst EF., Baja Breeze Taffeta Ribbon, Rhinestones, Glue Dot, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

Before I close out my post today I just wanted to share a few quick photo's of our trip to Jamaica! It was a nice vacation just the hubby & I but the heat & high humidity did me in! I'm so glad to be back home.

Shawn in the Caribbean Ocean as the storm clouds were rolling in. Every afternoon it rained...

Me with my toes in the sand!! :)

The views were amazing! One thing I loved was there were no waves in the cove where our resort was. I am usually not one to be in the ocean because the waves knock you off your feet so this was a real treat! We spent alot of time in the Caribbean Ocean while there. Very peaceful & relaxing!

Shawn & I enjoying our last full day there, poolside!

Day of departure...It was a nice vacation with such peaceful & beautiful views! The people of Jamaica are so nice and just love to talk! This was my first trip outside of the USA so it was interesting to see how life is there. Shawn has been to Poland & Canada before so going thru Customs & Immigration was a whole new ballgame for this girl.

Of course, I had to squeeze in a picture of Gigi! This was the night we came home. She was so happy to see us that she could not keep her eyeballs open any longer! Love my little Gigi!! :)

Well, that is all for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Happy Father's Day!

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!

Today we are on our way back from vacation. A few days away is enough for me!
I wanted to share with you a cute little gift I made my Dad for Father's Day. I found the idea on Pinterest so I can't take full credit for this. I did change mine up a bit and Shawn thought it was awesome!

My Dad loves Root Beer!
I also added a gift card for Cracker Barrel. He loves to go there!
Happy Father's Day, Dad!
We'll see you soon!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #66

Hello & Happy Monday!

It's time for another sketch from Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper. This week's sketch was an easy one, at least for me! I really am enjoying all these different sketches to help me get my Christmas cards made ahead of time. It's a terrific challenge and I hope you can stop over at Lesley's blog and see what the other Merry Makers have created this week.

Here we go.....

I had a toughie of a time photographing this picture with all the sparkle of the Glimmer Paper and the light color of Baja Breeze but none the less, I love the card!
Hope you will be inspired to play along with us this week and get those Christmas cards made!

Merry Monday Week #66 Card:

Stamps: Contempo Christmas sentiment
Ink: Memento Black
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Silver Glimmer Paper, SnowFestival DSP
Accessories: Snow Burst EF, Baja Breeze Taffeta Ribbon, White Pearl, Dimensional, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that is all for me this week!

I'm packing my bags and flying off to Jamaica this week! I'm totally excited except once again my hubby is dealing with yet another kidney stone. He is what you call a "stone former" and certainly has had one heck of a time with them! I surely hope he passes it before we leave because the last few days he's been miserable. I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!
See you all next week, mon!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #65

Hello & Happy Monday!

It's been crazy around here at the Aungst Pad with Shawn on his new work schedule.
Merry Monday is a tad late for me this week because I just forgot! I had to ask him this morning what day it was and remembered that I did not get the blog updated. Better late than never I guess!

It's a rainy Monday morning here in south central PA and it's time for another sketch this week from Lesley for this week's Merry Monday Challenge. Hope you can hop on over to her blog and check out what the rest of the Merry Makers created this week and possibly play along! Before too long you'll have a nice set of Christmas cards ready to go!

So, here we go....

Another easy peasy sketch that I enjoyed! I used an old scrapbook paper kit from many years ago for this card. I'm trying very hard to use all my old papers so my stash will someday get smaller! This collection is called Snowy Days from Pebbles. On the snowflake paper I have added some different sized Rhinestones just to give it a bit of sparkle. My big snowflake at the top is a retired snowflake punch from SU with a Rhinestone in the center. A strip of Silver Glimmer paper on the side that I ran thru my SU Scalloped Edge Border Punch and then added my sentiment from the retired Four the Holidays set and called this one done!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #65 Card:

Stamps: Four the Holidays
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Might of Navy, Neenah White, DSP from Snowy Days Scrapbook Kit by Pebbles
Accessories: SU Snowflake Punch, Rhinestones, SU Scalloped Edge Border Punch, 2 Sided Tape

Hope you can play along with us this week!

Well, that is all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Color Challenge 428

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope everyone had a fantastic Memorial Day! Now it's time to get back to our regular programming around here! LOL My hubby starts his new job today, well orientation for a few hours. I know he's so relieved to not have such a long commute to work now. I will be spending my day down at my stamp table since I did not have any inky time all weekend. :)

So, this is my last week Guest Designing with the Color Challenge ladies over at SCS. I will still be playing along when I can! Kim aka Luv Flowers, is our hostess this week and she chose the following colors.....

Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo & Pool Party
with the dessert option of paper piercing!

I went with a Sympathy card this week. A childhood friend of mine lost her mother this past weekend. She had been sick for quite some time. She use to be my son's school bus driver when he was in elementary school and because he has Cerebral Palsy and used a walker to get around, she watched over him like a hawk. Every year up until about a year ago we have always received a Christmas card in the mail from her with a hand written note in. Such a wonderful lady....she will be missed by so many!

Not a very good picture of the inside but I think it is readable.

Color Challenge 428 Card:

Stamps: Field Flowers, Teeny Tiny Wishes, unknown maker of the inside
Ink: Pool Party, Lucky Limeade, Memento Black
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Pool party, Pool Party 12 X 12 DSP Stack, Neenah White
Accessories: Apothecary Framelits, Itty Bitty Framelits, Finishing Touches Edgelits, Essentials Paper Piercing Pack, Island Indigo Ribbon, Glue Dot, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that's all for this girl today!
Stamping awaits me!

Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!
