Merry Monday Challenge Week #64

Hello & Happy Monday!

Happy Memorial Day too! Hope everyone has a nice day with family & friends!

Our weekend was jammed packed with lots of running around. Friday was grocery shopping, Saturday, I got my hair did for our upcoming trip to Jamaica, Sunday, we went to our very good friends, Deb & Ed's for a cookout and spend some time with them and today we are headed over to Kirsten's for supper! Phew, i'm tired of running around for one week!

So, since it's Monday, that means it's time for another sketch from the umber talented Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper. This week's sketch is an really nice one and I love all the samples I have seen from my other Merry Mondays Design Team buddies. Hope on over to her blog to see what the others have created....you will love their creativity!

Here is the sketch and my sample....

I wasn't real sure what I was going to do with this sketch then I went shopping over at Ellen Hudson's and found this adorable die from Impression Obsession and the light bulb moment went off! HAHA! Once I had this hot little die in my hand, it took me 10 minutes to make my card and i'm so very happy with it! Shawn helped me pick out the colors for this. We both had a glass of wine as I was making this and he chose the Crumb Cake card base over the white card base and I loved the look of it! I added my sentiment from the Open Sleigh set and a few pearls with Baja Breeze Taffeta and called it done!

Hope you can find some time to play along with us this week! It's a great way to get those Christmas cards made before the holidays even get here!

Merry Monday Week #64 Card:

Stamps: Sentiment from Open Sleigh
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Night of Navy, Baja Breeze, Neenah White
Accessories: Impression Obsession Die, Baja Breeze Taffeta, White Pearls, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that's all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!
Happy Memorial Day!

Color Challenge 427

Hello & Happy Friday!

It's been a crazy last 2 weeks to say the least!
My hubby had all kinds of tests done this past week to make sure his kidney stones were passable. Then a trip to his Urologist. Wednesday he decided to go back to work and halfway thru his morning he passes 2 stones! They were decent sized stones but we also found out he has more in his kidneys which isn't good news. Eventually, he will have to have something done but one good thing....he has finally said NO MORE ICE TEA! This has been the culprit for years. He's drank ice tea since a teenager so it's been hard finding something to replace it but he's determined to find something along with lots of water.

So, then today I woke up early with him as he was heading out to work. This is his last day working at Consolidated Container Co. in Baltimore. He gave his 2 week notice the day before the kidney stone episode set it. He works with a great bunch of people there and I know they will miss him. Driving to Baltimore the last year and a half is over an hour drive each way. He's been looking for another job and Graham Packaging has taken him back in York. Graham is who moved us to Joplin, Missouri in 2010. He worked for them for 16 1/2 years and left to move back home to PA. They hired him back but not in the management field that he has currently been in. He took quite a bit of a pay cut to get something closer to home but thinks in time he will move forward and get back into the management part of it. He's thrilled to only have a 20-25 minute drive to work starting next Tuesday and one thing for sure is.....it will be 100% better on our pocketbook as far as gas is concerned!!

So with all the current events happening around the Aungst Pad the last 2 weeks, it totally threw me off and kept me away from my stamp table. Starting next week I am determined to get back at it atleast up till vacation which is coming quickly!

I have been Guest Designing with the lovely ladies of the Splitcoaststampers Color Challenge for the month of May. I had planned on posting my card from this past Tuesday but then all of Shawn's doctor appointments got in the way. I'm catching up now!! LOL

Here are this week's colors....

Cherry Cobbler, Early Espresso & Marina Mist

The dessert option was to make a masculine card whether it be a birthday, graduation or Father's Day. Since my vacation is coming up to Jamaica and we fly home on Father's Day I thought i'd better get my Dad's card made while I can! This cabin image reminds me of when I was little and my Dad use to go to the mountains hunting with a bunch of his friends every fall. He hasn't gone hunting in many years now but i'm sure he will love the cabin image and remind him of some great times!

Color Challenge 427 Card:

Stamps: Inkadinkadoo (Cabin), Art Impressions (Sentiment)
Ink: Early Espresso, Marina Mist
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Cherry Cobbler, Marina Mist, Neenah White, Frostwood DSP
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF, Marina Mist Grosgrain, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that is all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #63

Hello & Happy Monday!

It's Monday and that means it's time for another sketch from Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper.

This week's sketch is an easy one!
I only have a bit of this holly paper left from the Holly Berry Bouquet DSP and a few of these felt holly leaves left so I thought i'd use them up and stop hoarding it. I have so much in paper & scraps that I just need to use.
My sentiment is from the Four the Season set. I added 2 red rhinestones and called my card done!

Merry Monday Week #63 Card:

Stamps: Four the Season
Ink: Wild Wasabi
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Neenah White, Holly Berry Bouquet DSP
Accessories: Circle Punches, Felt Holly Berries, Red Rhinestones, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that's all for me today!
I know it's been awfully quiet here on the blog but my hubby has been home for almost a week now dealing with yet again, kidney stones! I haven't spent anytime downstairs creating since he's been home. It's been 7 days and he still has not passed the stone. All I can say is, it must be a doozey!

Also would like to say a very Happy Birthday to my youngest daughter, Kelsey. She turns 20 years old today!! We had a little family party for her on Saturday with cake & ice cream. It was a fun time!
We had a cookout/birthday party in the garage since it ended up being rainy & dreary out.
Shady, Kelsey, Ryan, me, Dawkins & Kirsten
 Gigi
Kelsey got icing smeared on her cheek from Berto and she's still smiling!

Happy Birthday, Binky!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!!

I was really quite unsure what to do with these colors but once I started playing around with them it all worked out!

I guess I had butterflies on my mind when this creation was born! I was lucky enough to find them already cut out so all I had to do was figure out a layout and add my ribbon & sentiment.
I really like it!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #62

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope all the Mom's out there had a wonderful day with their families!
I spent Saturday with my Mom for a bit. Then on Mother's Day she had plans to go to my younger brother's for a big dinner so i'm sure she had a nice day!
My day was nice! I spent time with all 3 of my kiddo's, the 2 grandpuppies, son in law and my little fur baby, Gigi. Shawn made some burgers on the grill but it was a tad too chilly to sit outside on our new picnic table. It was a gift to Shawn & myself for his birthday & mother's day. We will get lots of use out of it, i'm sure!

So, since it's Monday again, that means it's time for another sketch from Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper. She has some of the most awesome sketches around!

I loved this sketch the first time I seen it! I had some of these cute images in my Image Box from a few years back. They were stamped in Always Artichoke and I went & grabbed some paper to match. I added some glue & glitter to my image to resemble winter. When I made this card I had just found out the new color line up for Stampin Up and seen that Soft Sky was coming back as a Subtles color! I have always loved this color! My card base is Soft Sky and the next layer is Always Artichoke with my Wintergreen DSP. I added some Soft Sky ribbon & pearls to finish my card and I just love it! I will be making a pack of these for my craft show! :)

Merry Monday Week #62 Card:

Stamps: To You & Yours, Four the Season (sentiment)
Ink: Always Artichoke
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Always Artichoke, Whisper White,Wintergreen DSP
Accessories: Circle Nestibilities, Glue Pen, Glitter, Soft Sky Ribbon, White Pearls, 2 sided Tape

Hope you can stop by Lesley's blog to see what the other Merry Makers have created this week and maybe play along! It's wonderful having these cards made way before the holidays get here which means less stress!

Well, that's all for today!

Sketch Challenge 435

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Today, I checked out the Sketch Challenge from over at SCS and decided to play along. I haven't played in a few weeks but today I needed to get a card made for a special someone, my hubby! His birthday is tomorrow, he'll be 45 years young!

He loves anything beach related so I thought this lobster would make a great masculine card for him.
I thought about going with something more tropical since he planned a trip for us to Jamaica in about a month but I really don't have much in stamps that are tropical atleast not yet!

Sketch Challenge 435 Card:

Stamps: By the Tide, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Real Red, Midnight Muse
Cardstock: Midnight Muse, Crumb Cake, Real Red, Neenah White
Accessories: SU Square Lattice & Stripes Embossing Folders, Silver Beads, Itty Bitty Framelits, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that is all for me today!
Wanted to try to get Gigi to the park for a walk this evening but I see the skies are darkening and storms are on the horizon. She may just have to settle on a walk around the yard instead!

Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Hope everyone is having a great day so far!
It's a gloomy day ahead here in south central PA and rain is on our doorstep almost everyday this week. After a string of beautiful days we really do need some rain.....especially on my garden! I plan to make the most of it with hiding out in the stamp room and working on yet more Christmas craft show stuff. I'm pleased so far at my progress but today I have some good news for you!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #61

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend! It was absolutely gorgeous here in PA!
I ment to go do some inking of my stamps but Saturday we decided to clean the house, plant our strawberry plants, shop at Walmart and take Miss Gigi for a nice long walk. I was dead tired till 8 pm rolled around. Sunday was a much calmer day. We took Miss Gigi to the Dog Park on the other side of York where it's a huge fenced in area and we can let her off her leash to run & play with all the other small doggies. She LOVES going there every Sunday morning and is she ever played out till we get back home! :)
Anything for our little Gigi!!!
But anyways, I did find my way down to stamp Sunday afternoon. Still working on lots of Christmas things. I'm excited to show you but will wait closer to the holidays.

So, it's Monday again and that means it's time for another sketch from Lesley! This week's layout is so quick & easy and I hope you can hop on over to her blog to see what the other Merry Makers have created this week and play along with us! Before you know it, you will have a nice stack of cards made way before the holidays arrive!

Here we gooooo....

As soon as I seen this sketch I knew what I wanted to make. I used an old Stampin Up die for my large Real Red snowflake. It was so big that I had to trim some off. I then added my next snowflake in Early Espresso by using a Stampin Up Snowflake Punch. The last snowflake was done with a Paper Studio punch in the Champagne Glimmer Paper. I added a gold bead to the center of my trio of snowflakes and hot glued them onto my card. My sentiment is stamped in Early Espresso ink from the Merry Messages set. I really like this card and might make a few more!

Merry Monday Week #61 Card:

Stamps: Many Merry Messages
Ink: Early Espresso
Cardstock: Real Red, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, Champagne Glimmer Paper
Accessories: SU Snowflake Die #2, SU Snowflake Punch, Paper Studio Snowflake Punch, Gold Bead, Hot Glue, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that is all for me today!
Thanks so much for stopping by & have a great day!

Color Challenge 424

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Today is Color Challenge day over at SCS and I decided I needed to get moving on a Mother's Day card for my Mom. Today's colors are:

Primrose Petals, Cameo Coral & White.....perfect for a Mother's Day card!

I love my card but my oh my, it took me over 3 hours to make this! LOL
I have a card that came from my friend, Vicki Burdick and I tried to fussy cut all those flowers and pop them up like she did on hers. Fussy cutting is not one of my favorite things to do! I love the stamp set, Array of Sunshine but I don't think i'll sit and cut those flowers apart like that again!
I made this for my Mom for Mother's Day since it's coming quickly and I know she will love this with those pretty flowers and lots of pearls!

Color Challenge 424 Card:

Stamps: Array of Sunshine, Field Flowers
Ink: Cameo Coral, Primrose Petals, Memento Black
Cardstock: Primrose Petals, Cameo Coral, Lucky Limeade, Neenah White
Accessories: Square Lattice EF, Sizzix Little Leaves Die, White Pearls, Primrose Petals Ribbon, Liquid Multi Mono, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that pretty much blew half my afternoon so i'm going to go get my meatloaf in the oven for supper and try to work on a few more things for Christmas before we eat. Lots to do yet but getting alot accomplished too!
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Merry Wishes Christmas Card Pack

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Sorry for the silence on the blog the last 2 weeks. Merry Monday last week was canceled due to Lesley being pretty sick and so I just decided to take a Spring Break. I also had Dominic 3 days both weeks due to his Mom preparing for her finals at school but now I am done with babysitting him for the summer and I have decided not to watch him once fall semester starts back up.

I have been stamping on & off the last 2 weeks but most of it is for the Holiday Craft Show season. I made this package of Christmas cards on Friday and wanted to share them here. I love the colors....

I dug into a few older SU sets for this. I have so many older sets that I really need to use more! I just told my BFF the other day that I need to stop buying stamp sets and use the ones I have more than once! LOL

Merry Wishes Christmas Cards:

Stamps: Tree Trimmings, Lots of Thoughts SAB 08
Ink: Island Indigo, Early Espresso, Going Gray
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Early Espresso, Neenah White, Festival of Prints DSP
Accessories: Snow Burst EF, Circle Punches, Stamp A Ma Jig, Rhinestones, Island Indigo Ribbon, Dimensional, 2 Sided Tape

This set will be available for purchase at the Holiday Craft Show come November.

Well, I have the kids & parents coming soon for an afternoon of playing Wii Bowling and eating chili & hot dogs. I'm pooped already from preparing food and straightening up around the house. I also did 3 loads of laundry & hung them out. I hope they are soon dry because it's starting to cloud up as rain is on it's way. Our weather's been pretty nice & very spring like.....hate to see the rain come. Oh well, i'm sure the grass & flowers will thank us!

Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!
I'll see you tomorrow for Merry Monday! :)

Merry Monday Challenge Week #58

Hello & Happy Monday!

What a busy weekend! I'm almost happy that it's Monday! LOL
Hubby edged and mulched all the flower beds and tilled a nice little garden for 75 strawberry plants this weekend. I'm excited for them to get planted as soon as our weather stays above freezing! He even made his way around the neighborhood to meet some of our neighbors after living here a year and a half. I did not help with any of the outdoors stuff as I have enough issues with my back so I just kinda supervised. I love anything with the flowers & mulching but with my recent back problems....I wasn't about to tempt it! I must say, he did a wonderful job with the flower beds and they look great! :)

As for me, well, when I was not outside supervising, I was downstairs in my stamp room organizing & rearranging lots of stuff. It will probably take me a month of Sundays to find where everything is! I did try to label my drawers & containers so I know where to look for stuff. I realized I have SO much in stamps & designer papers that I could probably go 10 years without purchasing anything but adhesives! My stamp selves are stuffed full, my ribbon drawers are stuffed full as well. It's crazy! I rearranged all my cardstocks & ink pads for the upcoming color change with Stampin Up and did inventory on all my cello bags. I think i'm good to go for awhile!!! LOL Just don't tell that to Shawn!!!

Anyways, since it's Monday that means it's time for another sketch from Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper. She gave us a super awesome layout this week! Hope you can find sometime to play along with us. Before long you'll have a nice stack of cards made way before the holidays get here!

Stamps: Petite Pairs (sentiment), Dasher

Well, my hubby has the day off to rest up! LOL
Gigi is going to get groomed this afternoon and while she is there, Shawn & I are going out to a late lunch with my Mom & Dad. My Mom's birthday was last week so I guess we need to celebrate! After that is a long awaited trip to Christmas Tree Shoppe! Oh how I love that store!!

This afternoon I have Dominic a bit so I came downstairs to get my card made for the Sketch Challenge from over at Splitcoaststampers.

Here is the sketch and my card...

Color Challenge 420

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

It's going to be a busy week for me. I have Dominic Monday, Wednesday & Friday this week and today Ryan has a doctor appointment with the cancer specialist in Lancaster. Hoping & praying for good results from his tests last week.

So, since I had some time to stamp today I decided to play along with this week's Color Challenge from over at SCS.

The colors are:
Real Red, So Saffron & Pool Party

My card is a bit of a case from Mary Fish. I loved the layout and all the rounded corners on her card so I did a case of it.

I'm still working with my lightbox to see if I can get some better pictures. I'm thinking that this will be a work in progress! LOL

I do like my card and changed mine up from Mary's to different colored cardstock's & dsp.

Merry Monday Week #56

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! It went by so fast for us! Friday, we painted my living room & hallway back to the bedrooms. Ughh, I have always loved painting but anymore it's really hard on my sciatic nerve. I've been trying to do some stretching exercises everyday but that thing of getting up & down off the floor just kills me. Saturday, I worked on laundry, straightened the house up, cleaned out flower beds, pulled out all the outside furniture and took Gigi for a long walk in the beautiful sunshine. It really was a nice couple of days up till Easter Sunday.....then the rainy, dreary weather came. Thankfully, we did not have much to do other than go to my parents to eat dinner. As I type this up i'm relaxing in my nice warm bed with my heating pad on hoping for some relief!

Anyways, since it's Monday that means it's time for another challenge from Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper. So here we gooooooooo!!!

Lesley has decided to go back to doing all sketches again and when I first seen this one I thought it would be a bit tricky but it actually wasn't!

Merry Monday Week #56 Card:

Stamps: Merry Medley (hostess, Holiday Mini Cat)
Ink: Island Indigo, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Early Espresso, Very Vanilla, Festival of Prints DSP
Accessories: Circle Punches, Rhinestones, Snow Burst EF, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that is all for me today!
