Tropical Chic Notebooks

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Hope your all enjoying your weekend!

I am soon going to be heading out to shop for a new wash machine!
Mine kicked the bucket yesterday but I had a feeling it was going to happen!
On a good note though we have some really nice weather this weekend!
Yesterday was a bit on the humid side but as the day went on the humidity was leaving us.
We actually had windows open to sleep with the fan on last night and I slept so good!
This is the kind of weather you wish you could bottle up because tomorrow it will all change back to humid and more rain/storm chances.

So before it gets busy here I want to share 2 little composition notebooks that I re-covered.
Sometimes I just love making things that aren't cards.

Project Details:

Stamps: Tropical Chic, Flourishing Phrases
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce. Blushing Bride
Cardstock: Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride, Shaded Spruce, Whisper White, Tropical Escapes DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Tropical Thinlits, Granny Apple Green Glittered Enamel Dots, Blushing Bride Enamel Dots, Granny Apple Green Ribbon, Shaded Spruce Metallic Ribbon, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I will use these as little Thank You gifts for my next couple of orders.
People like having these little notebooks to carry in their purses to jot down quick notes and I love to make them!

Thinking of You

Hello & Happy Saturday!

So glad the weekend is upon us!
We had some rain & thunderstorms last evening.
Gigi had her Thunder Jacket on which seems to be really helping her as far as loud noises and beeps are concerned. Thankfully I was home from doctor appointment before they started!
I had my doctor appointment in which was a very good one with my Dermatologist.
I jinxed myself yesterday saying that I have not had any new spots/plaques. I found one on my neck/shoulder after my shower. Doctor told me that I can get them at any time or place. As soon as I find them I am to start getting the heavy duty ointment on them. I have a huge spot/plaque on the back of my one leg. It's been there for a very long time and I swear it gets bigger everyday. He told me to put ointment on it everyday and at night time to cover it with Saran Wrap to help keep it moisturized which will help get rid of the scales.
This is a whole new ballgame for me and i'm sure I have lots to learn!
I have a really nice doctor there, always happy to answer any questions and offer suggestions.
Also suggested I get ready for the winter months as that is when psoriasis usually rears it's ugly head!
All in all he was pleased with my progress and said he'd see me back in 6 months!

Anyways, today hubby & I are going to head out and grab some groceries and hit up the local farm stand to get some locally grown veggies!
I do want to share a set of cards I made for my customer last week.
She loves her Thinking of You cards....

When she asked for Thinking of You cards I really wanted to use a different stamp set but because she suggested I use the Friendships Sweetest Thought set that is why I used this set.
She wanted the little bird on top colored red for a cardinal and I tried several times to color the entire image and make the bird red....I just could not do it. The images are way too small and I could not for the life of me get the ink inside the lines. After 3 times I said...nope not today and just stamped my image in Real Red ink and called it done.

Card Set Details:

Stamps: Friendships Sweetest Thoughts (retired)
Ink: Real Red
Cardstock: Real Red, Whisper White, Real Red DSP (retired)
Accessories: Lots of Labels Framelits (retired), Washi Label Punch (retired), Real Red 1/8 Grosgrain Ribbon (retired), Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

She always tells me not to stress over her cards but I do.
She loved them!
Guess that is all that matters!

Bubbles Over Starburst

Hello & Happy Friday!

Today is a busy day as I return back to see the dermatologist for my Psoriasis.
I've had some good results with the treatment he prescribed and I can honestly say that I have not gotten anymore spots/plaques! Yippeee!
If you suffer from psoriasis, you know how horrible the itch & burning can be.
I'm learning to deal with it but the biggest issue for me is stress. Stress triggers many psoriasis flares and I have to learn how to get that under control. I am and always have been a worry wart so that will be a tough one!

So anyways, I have a card to share today using the Starburst Technique again!
Yes, I told you I would be creating many cards with it! I just love the look of it and it will help rid me of DSP that is in my stash! I have a huge box full plus 2 paper holders and some 12 X 12 magazine holders full. Addict much....most definitely!

This card uses the retired Bubbles & Fizz DSP that was in our SaleABration catty this year.
I paired it with the Bubbles Over stamp set which is in our Annual Catalog on page 57.
It's a neat set and one I enjoy using!

One piece of advice I would give when making this style of card would be to make sure your patterned paper is cut in the right direction of your starburst! If you notice my bottle caps piece of DSP was placed on upside down. I am always trying to be a perfectionist and somehow that piece of paper got past me! LOL

Card Details:

Stamps: Bubbles Over
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Lemon Lime Twist
Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Bubbles & Fizz DSP (retired SAB 18)
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Lemon Lime Twist Striped Ribbon, Glue Dot, Tombow Mono Adhesive

I LOVE making these Starburst cards!
So fun!

Tropical Chic Anniversary Card

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Hope everyone made it thru the storms that came thru on the east coast last evening!
We have had SO much rain since Saturday. I'm not sure on totals but it was alot!
This morning, many roads in my area were once again under water and closed.
We woke up this morning to sunshine & blue skies!
We need it to help dry everything out!

So today I have a card to share that has a tropical feel to it...just like our weather!
This card was made for a card order for a couple that will be celebrating their 28th wedding anniversary in September.
Take a look....

This was a fun card to put together!
The Tropical Chic bundle can create many different cards for different occasions.
I could see this being used for a Christmas card as well!
The couple receiving this card is going on a cruise so I thought the tropical feel to it would be a great way to celebrate their anniversary!

Card Details:

Stamps: Tropical Chic, Memorable Moments (retired)
Ink: Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride
Cardstock: Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Tropical Escape DSP
Accessories: Stitched Labels Framelits, Tropical Thinlits, Granny Apple Green Glittered Enamel Dot, Stamp A Ma Jig, Granny Apple Green Ribbon, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This bundle has so many cool features to it and I am having so much fun with it!

Starburst Card

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Halfway thru the week and we are still getting rains off & on!
Yesterday was pretty bad around my area. Many roads were closed due to flooding.
They are saying today will bring more rains and hopefully this will move away.
I know we needed the rain but not the amounts we got!

Anyways, today I have a pretty cool card to share.
I just learned how to create a Starburst style card.
Can you believe that?
I have never before made this style of card and after yesterday...I may be hooked!

This card uses a new suite that is in the Annual Catalog called Best Route on page 52 & 53.
I am always on the hunt for masculine stamps. This suite also has a pack of awesome paper to match!
Look at those colors and prints!
The bike piece jumped out at me!

Card Details:

Stamps: En Route
Ink: Blueberry Bushel
Cardstock: Blueberry Bushel, Whisper White, Best Route DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Square Layering Framelits, Best Route Enamel Shapes, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This type of card went together so much easier than I expected! So glad I tried it!
I created a Christmas card for my next stamp get together using the Starburst Technique.
I hope the girls don't mind making a Christmas card this early but I think they will love this!

High Tide

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

It's been raining here since Saturday.
Creeks and rivers are starting to overflow their banks causing roadways to flood.
If you have ever heard of Hershey Park in Hershey, Pennsylvania...yep it's also flooding!
This rain is training up from down south and there is no end in sight until tomorrow when a front is to push it off the coast. In my neck of the woods (York County, PA) they are saying we've had almost 8 inches of rain. Crazy!

So today while I keep my eye on my yard and basement I wanted to share a card that we made at my last get together with my friends. I got alot of use out of the High Tide stamp set this time around.

The girls like a different variety of cards when we do our get togethers.
This one uses a Happy Anniversary sentiment from the Itty Bitty Greetings set.
The lighthouse was stamped first with Bermuda Bay then the 2nd stamp was inked in Coastal Cabana. I really like the 2 toned colors together!

Card Details:

Stamps: High Tide, Itty Bitty Greetings
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight
Cardstock: Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White, Coastal Cabana DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Bermuda Bay Striped Ribbon, Glue Dot, Coastal Cabana Glittered Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This card goes hand in hand with the tropical feel of when you step outside.
It's very humid out! Reminds me of when we were in Jamaica several years ago.
The humidity slaps you in the face as soon as you open the door! Blah!

Thanks for stopping by and stay dry out there!

Tropical Chic

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
It was quite rainy on the east coast!
Going to be a rainy week ahead but sometimes ya just need those rainy days!

So today I have one last Double Easel Card to share with you.
This is the card I made from my last stamp get together.
All the girls cards were different because we all used different sheets of the Tropical Escape DSP.
Take a look....

Isn't that paper so pretty!
I love every single sheet!!

Card Details:

Stamps: Tropical Chic, Picture Perfect Birthday
Ink: Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, Blushing Bride
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White, Tropical Escape DSP
Accessories: Tropical Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Granny Apple Green Glittered Enamel Dots, Sponge Daubers, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Have any of you tried this style of card yet?
They are quite fun and something different!
I will be making more!

Waterfront HB

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Hope your all having a nice weekend!
Yesterday was a busy day with doggy day spa for the girls and then we ran some errands before the monsoon arrived. It rained pretty much all day! We needed it for the grass was brown and I know the gardens needed a good watering!
Yesterday was our 28th wedding anniversary and we spent most of the day just watching some movies and hanging out at home which was fine by me.

So, today I have a card to share that we made at the last stamp get together.
I seen this card on Pinterest by Su Mohr and did a complete case of it.
The girls like the outdoorsy masculine cards so this one was a hit!

This was also a fun card to create using the retired Hearth & Home Thinlit die.
I borrowed the window die from my friend, Deb a few months ago to diecut them ahead of time.
We stamped our forest on the Whisper White cardstock using Crumb Cake, Old Olive and Daffodil Delight inks.

Card Details:

Stamps: Waterfront, Perennial Birthday
Ink: Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Wood Textures DSP
Accessories: Hearth & Home Thinlits (retired), Lg Oval Punch (retired), Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Stamping the forest looking out our windows was such a cool idea and the Wood Textures DSP adds so much to our card. If you do not have the Wood Textures DSP....you really need it!
Everyone's cards looked alittle bit different and that is the joy of using the Waterfront stamp set.
It can create some great cards!

Pineapple Punch

Hello & Happy Friday!

The muggy weather is back today and my AC has been turned back on.
I was just saying to my neighbor last evening how nice the last 2 days were.
I heard we are back to rain everyday for the next week but that is one thing we really need!
Our grass is brown.

So, today I have a quick card using an old set called Fresh Fruits from 2005.
I paired it with a new In Color called Pineapple Punch.

Pineapple Punch is literally the color of pineapples...almost reminds me of YoYo Yellow from back in the day! It's pretty bright!
Anyone else remember that color?

If you look closely under the pineapple panel I have snuck in a piece of Pineapple Punch cardstock that was embossed with the Petal Pairs Embossing Folder. I placed my panel on a slant just to add some texture to my card.

Card Details:

Stamps: Fresh Fruits (retired)
Ink: Pineapple Punch, Garden Green, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Pineapple Punch, Whisper White, Pineapple Punch DSP (In Color DSP)
Accessories: Petal Pair EF, Pineapple Punch 1/8 Grosgrain Ribbon, Glue Dots, Rhinestones, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I wanted to make some "Welcome to the Neighborhood" or "Congrats on Your New Home" style cards for on my card rack and I really love the pineapple stamp for that!
I know it's an old stamp set but it still makes some of the nicest cards!
I guess that is why I still have SO many older stamp sets in my collection!
I just cannot part with them!

My thoughts today....

Seems fitting to go with my Pineapple card today!

That is all for now!

Just Breathe....

Hello & Happy Thursday!

This week is flying by!
Yesterday we had some gorgeous weather and today is much of the same!
I love it!

I have a card to share today that I made last week with my stamp friends.
This uses several stamp sets which I will list below.

We used the retired color, Dapper Denim on this which is perfect for a beach card.
The Crumb Cake piece was torn then stamped with the sand looking stamp from High Tide. Then we stamped the sea grass on it. The water and seagulls were stamped before we adhered the Crumb Cake cardstock on. I already had the chair diecut (which is from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits) and on a piece of Adhesive Sheet so it would be easy to add to the card. The drink was already stamped and diecut too and that is from the Seasonal Layers Thinlits as well. We stamped our sentiment and then the sun and put it all together. Lastly, we added a Dapper Denim Enamel Dot and called this card done. I sure wish I was sitting in that chair right now with a cold lemonade in hand! LOL

Card Details:

Stamps: High Tide, Colorful Seasons
Ink: Crumb Cake, Dapper Denim, Daffodil Delight, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Dapper Denim, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Coffee Break DSP (woodgrain for chair)
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Seasonal Layers Thinlits, Dapper Denim Enamel Dot, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

We all had a great time making this one!
The perfect relaxation card!

Stylish Christmas

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

A beautiful day is on tap here and i'm so glad to be able to open the windows and let the fresh air in!
Better yet, sleeping with the windows open tonight with temps in the 50's! That is music to my ears!

Today I have a pretty Christmas card to share with you!
I made another Double Easel Card with a Distinktive stamp set called Stylish Christmas.
It is on page 101 of the Stampin Up Annual Catalog.

I must be sick or something because I actually fussy cut the poinsettia and leaves out for this card!
Twice within a week that I fussy cut and that my friends, hardly ever happens! LOL
This set being another one of those Distinktive stamp sets gives that realistic 3D look that I am really digging! I cannot wait to play a bit more with this set!

Card Details:

Stamps: Stylish Christmas
Ink: Real Red, Old Olive
Cardstock: Real Red, Old Olive, Whisper White, Under the Mistletoe DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Old Olive 1/8 Ribbon, Glue Dot, White Pearls, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

My card is also a Double Easel Card that I got the tutorial from Patty Bennett.
Here is the link to make the Double Easel Card.
I promise you they are easy peasy to make!

Flap Fold Card

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Last week I had a get together with my stamp friends.
I usually try to create 5-6 cards for us to make and this time I was looking to make some different style of cards. Yesterday I shared the Double Easel Card that I learned how to create from Patty Bennett.
Today I have a Flap Fold style card. I'm not sure if that's the right name for this but that is what I am going with anyways! LOL
I got a card in the mail recently from my friend Mary Anne.
I was so intrigued with it that I had to sit down and try my hand at one!
Here is what I created for my get together....

I have to admit, these turned out so much better than I imagined!
Thanks Mary Anne for sharing your talent with me!

Card Details:

Stamps: High Tide, Itty Bitty Greetings, Gorgeous Grunge
Ink: Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Soft Suede
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Poppy Parade DSP
Accessories: Classic Label Punch, Poppy Parade Striped Ribbon, Mini Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Anything beach related is always fun to make!
I have had this High Tide set for atleast 2 years and have finally gotten it inky!

Double Easel Card

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Today I want to share a card that I made with my stamp friends Friday night.
I watched a tutorial by Patty Bennett on how to create this card.
It is a Double Easel Card.

If your interested in making this here is Patty's tutorial.

After watching her video I took DSP and cardstock to match and made the card.
The one I am showing today was my sample card.
(I still have my card to share another day)
Each of the girls made cards that are completely different from my sample.
I wish I would have taken pictures of the girls cards!
They were awesome!

Card Details:

Stamps: Picture Perfect Birthday, Tropical Chic
Ink: Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride
Cardstock: Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride, Whisper White, Tropical Escape DSP
Accessories: Tropical Thinlits, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Granny Apple Green Glittered Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I thought this card was so cool and it matched the bags I made them!
I will be making more of this style card!
So much fun!

My thoughts today.....
