Our Creative Corner Challenge

Hello & Happy Saturday!!

Well, I hate to brag but it's a gorgeous day here in Joplin! The temps are in the upper 80's almost 90 today with a nice breeze. Shawn & Kelsey mowed the grass while I snuck off to my stamp room to work on today's Our Creative Corner Challenge. It is themed "Tea Party" and i'll be the first to admit i'm no tea drinker but Shawn & Kelsey are! I like the Lipton tea mixes you add to a bottle of water but that's the extent! LOL I rooted out the cabinet to find some tea bags and luckily there was only 2 left. Not much of a tea party with 2 teabags but it's good enough for hubby & Kels! I put my teabags in a PTI Medium Glassine Bag and added a Wilton Doily to the top of it. I stamped my image and colored with Copics. I cut it out with my Circle Nestibilities, added some gold beads then glued it together to call it done!
Hope you like!!

Our Creative Corner Challenge~"Tea Party" Bag:

Stamps: Morning Cup
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Daffodill Delight, Pumpkin Pie, PTI White
Accessories: Circle & Circle Scallop Nestibilities, Wilton Lace Doily, Gold Beads, Pumpkin Pie Grosgrain, Glue Dot, Scor Tape

Quick & easy....just the way I like it! :)

That's all for me today!
Off to enjoy some of this nice weather because i'm sure it's not gonna last long!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great Saturday!

Anyways, the Free 4 All Challenge #59 is themed Embedded Embossing. I've never heard of it but have seen it around the gallery. I love the look of this and will be using this technique more often!! :)

Ways To Use It Challenge 317

Hello & Happy Thursday!!

Today's Ways To Use It Challenge is to break out those "Decorative Scissors" or to use a border punch if we do not have decorative scissors. I know I have a few decorative scissors around somewhere but since moving I haven't be able to find them. I searched for about 10 minutes this morning and came up empty handed so I moved on to a border punch. Since I was working on Christmas stuff yesterday I just kept with that theme. I made a Christmas Card Gift Holder and used my Stampin Up Scallop Border Punch on my card. My image is from Christmas Classics and I cut that out with Rectangle & Rectangle Scalloped Nestibilities so I kept with that scalloped look by using the Scallop Border Punch.

Ways To Use It Challenge 317 Card:

Stamps: Christmas Classics
Ink: Soft Suede, Real Red
Cardstock: Real Red, Soft Suede, PTI White, Christmas Cocoa DSP
Accessories: Rectangle & Rectangle Scallop Nestibilities, SU Scallop Border Punch, Word Window & Modern Label Punches, Gold Ribbon from Micheal's, Pearl Brad, Kaiser White Pearls, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Sketch Challenge 327

Good Morning & Happy Wednesday!

It's finally hump day! Yipppeee Skipppy!
We're all alittle on the tired side this morning. Shawn got called into work in the middle of the night for about 2 hours. A machine stopped working and I guess no one could figure out what was wrong so Shawn off to the rescue! I know I could use a nap so i'm sure his butt is really gonna be dragging today!
Anyways, I got up with him the 2nd time and made him some breakfast before he left for a full days work. Wednesdays is always a very important day so he couldn't call off. Once he left I headed straight to my stamp room and got to work on the Sketch Challenge from over at SCS. Below is the layout & my samples.

I went with a Sympathy card for this. Emily or myself is always in need of them but my card rack is lacking them too!
I also pulled another set off my shelf to use for my challenge of making sure all my stamps see ink in 2011. This set is from SU called Of The Earth. Beautiful set in which I have barely ever used. Sad, I know!

Sketch Challenge 327 Card:

Stamps: Of The Earth (set #52), Warmest Regards
Ink: Baja Breeze, Memento Black
Cardstock: Kraft/Crumb Cake, Baja Breeze, Vanilla, Elegant Soriee' DSP
Accessories: Oval & Scallop Oval Nestibitlies, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Recollections Silver Beads, Kraft Taffeta, Silver Dragonfly Brad, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for me for now!

Mojo Monday Sketch #185

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope your all having a great day so far!

Yesterday, I took the day off from doing any stamping. I wasn't feeling all the best so I just lounged around on the couch and watched the race.
It shot up to 87 degrees here with some nasty winds. Then durning the night we had some storms come thru and cooled things off quite a bit. Today it's about 50 degrees. Crazy, huh?

So, I checked out the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge since I haven't participated in a few weeks. Below is the layout & my samples:

I used 2 sets off my shelf in my quest to see that all my stamps see ink in 2011. Both sets are from SellABration called Sweet Summer (set #49) and So Happy for You (set #50).

Anyways, today's challenge over at the Our Creative Corner Blog is themed Girl Power! I'm all about Girl Power and making things for girls!
Our projects have to have a paper flower, ribbon and bling! That's right up my alley! :)

Kelsey has been bugging me since Christmas to make her a tissue box cover and since I have nothing much going on today....I got it made!

Free 4 All Challenge #58

Hello again!

I'm back with today's Free 4 All Challenge card. It is themed "Home Sweet Home"!
It's a wonderful challenge today being that we just came back Tuesday from our trip back home to Pennyslvania!
I went thru my image box and found this image that I had stamped off. It took me an hour to find out the name of it! It's a special set from Stampin Up from 2003 called Heart & Home. It's the first Ronald McDonald set they ever made.! :)

Free 4 All Challenge #58 Card:

Stamps: Heart & Home
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Dusty Durango, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, GP White, Welcome Neighbor DSP
Accessories: SU Scallop Trim Punch, Bermuda Bay Grosgrain, Rhinestones, Scor Tape

Have you noticed that I did not list Dimensionals in my Accessories list! I'm trying very hard to keep my cards flat so they don't cost an arm and a leg to mail! :)

I really like my card....maybe it's the colors or maybe it's because it was quick and easy to make! I think i'm getting lazy in my old age! LOL
I love the sentiment though!
Home is definitely where my heart is!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a fabulous Friday!

I started working on this journal last week before we left and since the challenge is all about flowers, I decided to finish it up and use it for this!

I also used another set off my shelf from SU called Because I Care. It is set #48 in my quest to see that all my stamps see ink in 2011.

Sunday, March 27, 2011

Greetings from PA!

Hello & Happy Sunday!!

I just wanted to say hello!
We decided late Thursday to make a quick trip home this weekend. Shawn really wanted to go back so we rushed Thursday to get packed and left at 2 am Friday morning.
We drove Winky home and hit all kinds of crazy weather on the way!
Rain, Thunder, Lightening, Sleet, Snow and then Sunshine!
We made it back to Pennyslvania Friday evening and have been enjoying our time here.
Saturday, Deb & I went out and did some shopping. Hit up Micheal's & AC Moore.

Then last nite we sat out by the firepit and roasted hot dogs. It got so cold we couldn't sit there any longer and never got to make the Smores but all is good. We'll be coming back for a long vacation in a few weeks so we'll make them then and hopefully it will be ALOT warmer! :)

So, I just wanted to let everyone know where I was and why I haven't been posting. I'm missing my stamping and will get back to it in a few days so stay tuned, ok?

Tonight we are heading out to meet up with the York Chapter Scikotics and i'm looking forward to that too! It's been wonderful being home!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day, friends!

Sketch Challenge 325

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

It's time for another edition of the SCS Sketch Challenge. I have been wanting to get started on this sketch since I crawled out of bed this morning but at 8 am the doorbell rang and it was someone here to fix the leaking roof & a leak in one of our showers. Wasn't at all expecting anyone or I would have been up & dressed. I had to answer the door in my pj's & robe. Errrr that was not the way I wanted to start my day at all!

So, after lunch I was finally able to take on the challenge!! WooHoo!
Here is the layout & my samples....

Still have an empty slot on the card rack for Get Well cards so I used this challenge again for just that. I also used set #46 in my quest to see that all my sets see ink in 2011. This set is one I love called Easy Elegance.

Sketch Challenge 325 Card:

Stamps: Easy Elegance (set $46), Retro Sentiments
Ink: Memento Black, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive
Cardstock: PTI White, Rich Razzleberry, Old Olive, Cottage Wall DSP
Accessories: SU Scallop Trim Border Punch, SU Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Gold Dragonfly Brad, Gold Circle Clip, Razzleberry Grosgrain, Corner Rounder, Scor Tape

Also another card that's not too bulky! :)

Well, I just found out that hubby has another business dinner tonight so Kelsey & I are fending for ourselves.....again! Also tonight is American Idol night so i'm gonna go and get our supper started so I can be ready to watch! WooHoo! I'm really enjoying it this year!

Thanks for stopping by!

Color Challenge 315

Hello again!
Back real quick to share my Color Challenge card from over at SCS today. The colors are: Pear Pizzazz, So Saffron & Regal Rose. Since I do not have any of the new In Colors I substituted Pear Pizzazz with Certainly Celery.
The other day I was putting cards on my card rack and realized the Get Well section was empty so I decided to use today's colors for just that.

I did not add alot of embellishments so I can keep the cost down on mailing this. Most of my cards I always use 2 postage stamps because of the bulk and i'm really trying to break myself of that but old habits really are hard to break!
Color Challenge 315 Card:
Stamps: Bloomin Beautiful, Curvy Verses
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Regal Rose, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, White, So Saffron DSP
Accessories: Seeing Spots Cuttlebug Embossing Folder, SU Scallop Trim Border Punch, Gold Dragonfly Brad, Scor Tape
Hope ya like!
Well, that's all for tonight!
Thanks again for stopping by!
See you tomorrow!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Hello & Happy Tuesday!!
Hope your all having a great day!
My day is getting alittle better! I have been without my computer since Saturday when it decided it just did not want to work anymore. Thankfully, I have a hubby who knows his stuff with a computer and he fixed it for now. Not sure how long it will hold up before I will have to either get a new one or a new harddrive but for now i'm back in business! :)
Saturday, the challenge over at the Our Creative Corner Blog was themed "Don't Throw It Away"! Awesome challenge for me because I keep anything & everything from the kitchen. I had this little Crisco container that holds the sticks in and we were getting ready to take Kelsey Saturday to take another mid term exam so I thought I would decorate this little container and add a little chocolate treat to keep her motivated and thinking positive for her exam.
Below is my Crisco Stick Container with added Reese's Mini Peanut Butter Cups.

Kelsey loved it!
I have so many things that normally would get thrown away hanging around my stamp room. I love altering these kind of things! :)
Our Creative Corner Challenge Project:
Stamps: Sentiment from All Holidays
Ink: Memento Black
Cardstock: Ruby Red, PTI White, Cowgirl Collection from Crate Paper
Accessories: Oval & Oval Scallop Nestibilities, Corner Punch, Soft Sky Grosgrain, Pearl Brad, Kaiser White Pearls, Scor Tape
Well, that's all for now!
Hubby has a business dinner tonight so Kelsey & I will be hanging out by ourselves. I think i'm gonna head to my stamp room awhile to play catch up! I have my Color Challenge card almost done so I will probably be back later to share that so stay tuned!
Till then...
Thanks for stopping by & have a good evening!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

Hello & Happy Thursday!!

It is St Patrick's Day....3 days away from Spring! WooHoo!

Today is St Patty's Day and I have dedicated my blog just to this holiday!

I realized I did not upload my St Patty's door hanger this month so I am doing it today!

Then I made my stamp friends back home alittle something for the occasion.
They are Peppermint Pattie sandwiches decorated and placed in a Wilton Pretzel bag.
I'm safe to post this now since I got word that they all received their treats! :)

I'm happy with how it all turned out!

Well, that's all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great St Patrick's Day!
Hope you have a lucky day! :)
Oh and don't forget to wear your green!!
