Pretty Blooms HB

 Good Morning & Happy Sunday!

A beautiful, sunny morning here for a change! I have some stamping projects on my agenda this afternoon and a quick trip to Walmart. I'm glad it's nice out since we have to venture out. Friday, it was just a miserable day with snow then heavy rain. Saturday, it was sunny but those winds sure were gusty and that made it feel even colder. It was perfect weather to stay inside and craft with my friends!! I am sharing card #2 that we made. I have had this card kit done for atleast 2 years and I kept putting it off. It uses the Perennial Birthday set that has long been retired but a staple in my craft room for it's great birthday sayings!

Everything on this card is retired but that does not matter to my stamp girls.
They just enjoy getting together and making cards!

Card Details:

Stamps: Perennial Birthday (retired), Abstract Impressions (retired)
Ink: Blueberry Bushel (retired), Shaded Spruce
Cardstock: Blueberry Bushel (retired), Soft Seafoam, Basic White, Garden Impressions DSP (retired)
Accessories: Tin Tile EF (retired), Stitched Labels Framelits (retired), Triple Banner Punch (retired), Shaded Spruce Metallic Ribbon (retired), Rhinestones, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

We had alot of fun yesterday and I will say that it is good for the soul to spend time with my friends and make cards! Can't wait for the next time!!

Abstract Impressions Thank You

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Going to make this a quick post today as the tree company is coming to remove the 3 trees on our property! Yay!

This week I am making cards from stamp sets that will be retiring at the end of this month.
Today I am saying Goodbye to one of my absolute favorites, Abstract Impressions.
This set may be retiring but it won't be leaving my stamp room!

Those roses remind me of an older Stampin Up set called Roses in Winter.
Do you remember it?
Abstract Impressions is loaded with lots of wonderful sentiments that I find myself using alot.
Also retiring on this card is the Tufted EF, that pretty Highland Heather Gingham DSP and that gorgeous Granny Apple Green Textured Ribbon. I am sad about that!

Card Details:

Stamps: Abstract Impressions
Ink: Purple Posy, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green
Cardstock: Highland Heather, Whisper White, Highland Heather DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Tufted EF, Triple Banner Punch, Granny Apple Green Textured Ribbon, Rhinestones, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I'm always in need of Thank You cards for on my card rack so that is where this beauty is going until it's needed!
Stay tuned to see what I will share tomorrow!

Gift Bag & Matching Card

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope your week is going well!
Another rainy day is on tap here!
I'm headed to my stamp room this afternoon to finish up a few projects!
Have you been stamping, too?

Today I have a gift bag & a matching card to share!
I made these on 2 different days not intending them to be used together.
The bag I planned to use for card orders and my card to use for Mother's Day.
Once I decorated the bag I decided to use the layout to create a card with the same papers.
Yep, i'm still working hard on using up the old stash!

Gift Bag Details:

Stamps: Abstract Impressions
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Cardstock: Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey (retired), Whisper White, English Garden DSP (retired)
Accessories: Small Gift Bags (Dollar Tree), Circle Layering Framelits, Doilies (retired), Rhinestones, Hello Honey Satin Ribbon (retired), Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Card Details:

Stamps: All Year Cheer 2 (retired)
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Mossy Meadow, Hello Honey (retired), Whisper White, English Garden DSP (retired)
Accessories: Circle Layering Framelits, Doilies (retired), Rhinestones, Hello Honey Satin Ribbon (retired), Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I was never crazy about the Mossy Meadow polka dot print that was in the English Garden DSP pack that was available a few years ago but then I paired it with another print from the same package and suddenly I love the look of them together!
I will need to remember that when matching up other DSP prints!

Abstract Impressions

Hello & Happy Saturday!

What a day it turned out to be yesterday!
Our weather was gorgeous!
Shawn went out and mowed then cleaned out the rain gutters.
We had lots of leaves, twigs and whirly birds on the roof that washed into the gutters after all the storms we had this week!

This afternoon we are heading to Baltimore.
He is meeting up with someone who is buying a set of tires & rims off of him.
Hope we are home before we get any storms!

I do have a set of cards to share that were part of my customers last order.
She wanted something spring/summery for a sympathy card.
This is what I created for her.

Abstract Impressions is one of my favorite sets besides Painted Harvest!
I love the spring/summery flowers that are in the set so I decided to use it.
I used Daffodil Delight Cardstock & DSP along with the Subtles EF.
My sentiment comes from the retired Rose Wonder set (another favorite) which is stamped in Granny Apple Green.
My bow if Daffodil Delight 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon that is retired too.
I have always loved this size of ribbon as it makes nice bows and does not bulk up the card.

Card Details:

Stamps: Abstract Impressions, Rose Wonder (retired)
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Square Layering Framelits, Subtle EF, Daffodil Delight 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon (retired), Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This DSP is retiring next week and this set of cards helped me use up this particular print.
I really love this polka dot print!
I also made these cards flat for easy mailing!

I always create a gift bag for them to take their projects home in.
This time I had more to make so I keep them simple.
Let me know what you think?

My sentiment comes from the Abstract Impressions stamp set.
I love this saying and thought it was perfect!

Abstract Impressions

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!

Saturday morning we had to take Ryan to the doctor.
He's still having some issues from his recent sickness and I felt he needed to be checked out.
He will have to go have some tests done this week.
I think he was on the verge of being dehydrated as well.
Hard telling now what this week will bring.
I will keep you updated!

Today I have a quick card to share.
I needed some Thank You cards and created some using the Abstract Impressions stamp set.
It's my favorite of the Annual Catalog!

I like these 2 colors together.
Lovely Lipstick & Granny Apple Green.

Card Details:

Stamps: Abstract Impressions
Ink: Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Lovely Lipstick, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White, Lovely Lipstick DSP

Tropical Chic Gift Bags

Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

Up bright & early this morning since my hubby has to work.
It's a beautiful morning...not too hot or humid out yet!

Last evening was my stamp get together with friends!
I always enjoy our stamping time and all the chit chatting we do!
If you remember, last month I started decorating small gift bags for them to take their cards home in.
This is my July Bags that I whipped up....take a look!

I always start out by making a tag and then just building on the tag.
I don't attach it to my bag with twine or ribbon. I attach it with 4 Dimensionals on the back so it does not fall off and it will not flop around on the bags. This really seems to work and the girls love having the decorated bag to carry their artwork home in!
For this bag I used a new bundle in the catalog called Tropical Chic.
At first it did not grab my attention but the more I saw samples of it the more I loved it.
I told you I am a sample girl.....alot of sets never grab my attention until I see things done with it.
I know.....i'm always late to the party! LOL

Project Details:

Stamps: Tropical Chic, sentiment from Abstract Impressions
Ink: Shaded Spruce, Granny Apple Green, Blushing Bride
Cardstock: Granny Apple Green, Shaded Spruce, Whisper White, Tropical Escape DSP
Accessories: Tropical Thinlits, Scallop Tag Topper Punch, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Granny Apple Green Ribbon, Granny Apple Green Glittered Enamel Dots, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

On the ferns, I inked my stamp in Granny Apple Green then took a sponge dauber & the Shaded Spruce ink pad and sponge daubed that ink onto the bottoms of each of the stamps. Once I pounced ink on the rubber, I huffed to re-moisten the stamp and stamped on the cardstock. That is what gives the ferns the 2 toned look! My flower is just stamped in Blushing Bride to match the color in the DSP.

My friends really like the bags, so as long as time allows I will try to make them before each get together! Hope you liked these as much as I enjoyed making them!

Gift Bags

Hello & Happy Sunday!
Yesterday was a very hot & humid day. It really felt like summer!
My ac was cranked on since Friday afternoon so it stayed cool inside but outside it was blah!
While I am glad for the warmer weather....I am not a fan of the humidity. Double blah!

So, yesterday my friends came over for a stamp get together.
We try to get together once a month to make cards.
I enjoy it so much!
Earlier this week I picked up some gift bags at the Dollar Tree, 3 for $1. Can't beat that!
I decorated them and put a tag on each so they would have something to take their cards home in.

Aren't they pretty?
The paper on the bag comes from the Garden Impressions DSP pack.
I layered some Shaded Spruce under it which I have come to really LIKE!
For the tag I used the roses from the Abstract Impressions stamp set. I used Melon Mambo and did some stamping off on the under layers and full strength for the more detailed stamp on top. My little dots came from the Painted Harvest set. The sentiment comes from the Southern Serenade stamp set. I tied some retired Thick Melon Mambo on my tag and attached it to my bags with Dimensionals. I forgot to mention that I punched the top of my tag with the retired Ornate Tag Topper Punch which is also retired.

Project Details:

Stamps: Abstract Impressions, Painted Harvest, Southern Serenade
Ink: Melon Mambo, Shaded Spruce, Petal Pink
Cardstock: Shaded Spruce, Whisper White, Garden Impressions DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Ornate Tag Topper Punch, Thick Melon Mambo Twine, Melon Mambo Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Liquid Glue

I was so happy with these that I think I will try to decorate all my bags from now on....that is IF I have time. The girls loved them and all of the cards they made. I guess now it's time to start designing for our next get together which will probably be after July 4th! Can't wait!

Abstract Impressions

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Hope your all having a great weekend so far!
This morning is my stamp get together with friends and i'm pretty excited to share some new things and some cool cards with them! I stamped each of them a gift bag that they can use to take their goodies home in. I may start to do this for each get together and for my card orders as well. It's a great way to use up DSP! I will share the gift bags tomorrow so make sure you stop back!

Today I have a cute card made with some very pretty colors of summer, Bermuda Bay & and the lovely Coastal Cabana that has come back to our color palette. I also used my very loved Abstract Impressions stamp set and did a bit of tearing.

I also threw some Granny Apple Green into the mix which goes beautifully with Bermuda Bay & Coastal Cabana! I stamped out my roses which is a 3 step process then added my leaves. Once that was done I did some tearing on an angle. I wanted to leave just enough room that I could fit my sentiment on the front. I added a Bermuda Bay 1/8 Taffeta Bow that was in my stash and some clear rhinestones for some bling! I always forget about tearing. It's such an easy technique that gives your cards texture.

Card Details:

Stamps: Abstract Impressions
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green
Cardstock: Bermuda Bay, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White
Accessories: Rhinestones, Bermuda Bay 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dot, Tombow Liquid Glue

I hope you like this card!
I have been enjoying this Abstract Impressions set very much as i'm sure you can tell.
It's one of the best bundles in the new catalog!

Abstract Impressions

Hello & Happy Friday!

My card that I am sharing today is made from the Abstract Impressions bundle from the new Stampin Up Annual Catalog that goes live today!!! Finally!!
This is the only set that I ordered on my pre-order and later have come to realize I needed the Springtime Impressions Framelits that go with it. So they were on my 2nd pre-order!
If ever there was a flower stamp set that I absolutely loved....it is Abstract Impressions!
It reminds me of an older set that I no longer have called Roses In Winter.

You will probably get sick of me using this suite in the days and weeks to come but I really like everything about this entire suite from the stamps to the papers....it is all so pretty!

Card Details:

Stamps: Abstract Impressions
Ink: Shaded Spruce
Cardstock: Shaded Spruce, So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Garden Impressions DSP
Accessories: Springtime Impressions Framelits, Stitched Shapes Fraemlits, Circle Layering Framelits, Corner Rounder Punch, White Pearls, Mini Dimensionals, Tombow Liquid Glue

I had my mind set that I was not going to get the coordinating Framelits for this set since I have the Butterly Basics Framelits but let me tell you how much bigger this butterfly die is compared to the other ones! It cuts so nicely, too!
WTG Stampin Up! Once again they have impressed me with some amazing changes!

Have you gotten your new catalog?
I hope you have taken notice to the new color family changes?
I absolutely LOVE the new colors as well as the new In Colors!
I think you will love them too!

My thoughts today....

I have to admit, my craft table never gets too badly covered in supplies unless it's near Christmastime and I have a million different projects going on. I try to keep it all very organized and in it's place!
Guess that is my OCD kicking in! Haha!

That's all for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have an amazing day!

Abstract Impressions

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Anyone have any fun plans this holiday weekend?
It's going to be a hot & humid day here with a chance of storms.
My AC is already cranked on keeping it cool inside.

Today I have a quick card to show you that I made with the Abstract Impressions stamp set that will be in the new catalog come this coming Friday, June 1st! It also has a coordinating framelit set which I did not order when I ordered the stamp set. At first the framelits did not appeal to me but that totally went out the window after seeing some awesome idea's with just the framelits themselves!

For this card I pulled out a sheet of Garden Impressions DSP  and left it do all the work!
I added a quick saying to the front and a So Saffron Enamel Heart and called it done!

Card Details:

Stamps: Abstract Impressions
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Night of Navy, So Saffron, Whisper White, Garden Impressions DSP
Accessories: Triple Banner Punch, So Saffron Enamel Heart, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Isn't that paper yummy?
I have to say that the entire paper pack is gorgeous and full of flowers!
It's one of those paper packs that will do all the work for you!

Abstract Impressions

Hello & Happy Friday!

The weekend is here and it's not to be a very nice one.
Heavy rains are to move in later today through tomorrow. Flood watches are now up for the area. We've had so much rain in the last 5-7 days. It's crazy how the weather is so different around the world from droughts to floods and everything in between!

I was able to preorder from the new SU Annual Catalog that will be going live on June 1st.
We had a slew of things on the list but my first thing to order was all the new inks, markers & cardstocks! What a variety of colors we will have this year! I am very excited about the color change! Yes, it's a ton of money spent on the change but these colors coming in are so refreshing and I think it was high time for a new color palette! Truthfully, I was so excited to see new purple's and today I have a card to share using new product!
Take a look....

Aren't they pretty?

As you can see I used a new stamp set called Abstract Impressions. Lots of lovely flowers in this set which is a 2 step stamp set. Lots of nice sentiments in it as well. It has a coordinating die too but I did not order it which I am kicking myself for after seeing a beautiful card Patty Bennett made with it. It will be on my next order come June 1st!
Anywho....my card also uses new inks! Gorgeous Grape & Granny Apple Green.
Honestly, Granny Apple Green was my least favorite but after using it....that went out the window!

Card Details:

Stamps: Abstract Impressions
Ink: Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Gorgeous Grape, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Quilted EF, Banner Punch (retired), Rhinestones, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

That is the only stamp set that I ordered with my new inks & cardstocks!
I do have the NEW In Colors in house too and they are beautiful!
Can't wait to share more of them with you in the weeks & months to come so stay tuned!

My thoughts on this rainy day.....
