Under the Weather....

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

I'm way behind on any challenges and hope to catch up soon!

I have been sick since last Wednesday and in bed most of the weekend.
Monday evening I pulled myself out of bed to go to the doctors since I wasn't getting any better. The wheezing was getting worse and my energy level is completely zapped.
The Dr. told me I am on the verge of Pneumonia (and hopefully we caught it in time) with Bronchitis and a Sinus Infection. I guess I did it up right this time! I feel pretty bad. :(
I got a Z-pack (Zithromax) and was told to keep on the Mucenix with lots of fluids and rest. I dislike being confined to my bedroom but I don't want anyone else to get this. Not sure if it's contagious or not, she didn't say! I will go back in 2 weeks for a recheck to see if my lungs are sounding better.

I'm really missing my stamp table and doing the Merry Monday Challenges so hopefully in a few days I can get down there to get my card made. Dr said it would take a few more days till I felt good again. Lots of fluids and rest..and that means lots of surfing SCS and all your wonderful blogs! :)

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Sketch Challenge 373

Hello & Happy Wednesday! Today is Sketch Challenge day at SCS. Korin is the hostess this week and she asked me to make a sample for this week's sketch and I was happy to help! Below is her sketch and my samples....
When I first saw the sketch I was like, oh man, that looks like a toughie but I thought about it for a bit then got right to work! I love it when it comes together the way you picture it in your mind! I substituted the flower with my bunny. He is new to me and I have been anxious to use him. I was gonna cover him in glitter to make him look like a Peeps marshmellow bunny but then changed my mind. Really didn't feel like messing with glitter! I used some old SU Designer Paper called Sarah. It's so pretty & very springy, perfect for my Easter Bunny! Sketch Challenge 373 Card: Stamps: Delightful Dozen (sentiment) Ink: Memento Black Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Neenah White, Sarah DSP Accessories: Amuse Bunny Dies, MS Doily Punch, SU Square Lattice EF, Oval & Oval Scallop Nestibilities, Basic Pearls, Certainly Celery Grosgrain, Hot Glue, Dimensionals, Scor Tape Hope you like! Well, that is all for today! Thank you for stopping by & have a great day! ~Wendy

Color Challenge & Sketch Challenge 351

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

It's Color Challenge day today and i'm also trying to catch up on older Sketch Challenges.
I was really stumped on mixing the colors with that sketch.
Guess my brain isn't working very well today! LOL

Below is the sketch from a few months ago.
The colors are: Basic Gray, Pretty in Pink & Pink Pirouette.

Now my colors are so washed out in my pictures and I played around with different lights on & off but did not make much of a difference.
It is what it is!

Color Challenge 363 & Sketch Challenge 351 Card:

Stamps: Just Believe
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Basic Gray
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF, Word Window & Modern Label Punches, Basic Gray Taffeta Ribbon, Pink Rhinestones from Micheal's, Hot Glue, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for today!
I feel like I lost my mojo here. Maybe I should go try again, we'll see!

Anyways, thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Hello & Happy Friday!

Today I am playing catch up on some old Sketch Challenges from over at SCS.

I'm still working on some fresh new Anniversary cards for my card rack.
This one I absolutely love with my favorite SU color, Marina Mist.

Ways To Use It Challenge 362

Hello & Happy Thursday!

It's a rainy, dreary day here again.
One of those kind of days ya just feel like going back to bed and covering up your head!

I made my way downstairs for a few this afternoon to make my card for today's Ways To Use It Challenge 362. Cathymac is hosting today and she challenged us to make a card with "Bountiful Borders". Since I have been working on taking all my old cards off my card rack and refreshing it with new ones, i've started working on Anniversary cards first.
Below is my sample and another card for my rack!

Ways To Use It Challenge 362 card:

Stamps: SU Sentiment, Hero Arts Heart
Ink: Riding Hood Red
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Vanilla, SU DSP
Accessories: MS Doily Punch, Oval & Scallop Oval Nestibilities, Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon, Silver Beads, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

LOL As I was typing this up I couldn't think for the life of me what the name of that Stampin Up Designer paper is! I don't have time now to go check but will update that later!

Have to get my supper made quickly and then Shawn has a doctor appointment this evening so I need to get going!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Valentine Goodies

Hello again!

Well, I made it back!
Hubby went to bed after supper and I have not seen or heard from him since so he really needed the sleep. Just hope he feels better in the morning!

Below is the card I made for Shawn for Valentine's Day. I used Loads of Love images that I had in my Image Box. I'm trying really hard to use up what I have (and that's a huge boot shoe box filled to the gills with images!). I colored the truck a Cajun Craze color like our new Scion xB. I'm not real crazy about the color compared to the purple one we use to have. I tried to not make it so girly but it didn't matter much, he liked it and I guess that is all that matters!

Loads of Love card:

Stamps: Loads of Love
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Crumb Cake/Kraft, Neenah White
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF, Early Espresso Wide Striped Grosgrain, Circle Punches, Small Heart Punch, Gold Beads, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

And then I made some Valentine treats to give out.
I used several different designer papers and tried to kept them simple.

Valentine Treats:

Stamps: PS. I Love You
Ink: Concord Crush, Melon Mambo, Regal Rose, Memento Black
Cardstock: Concord Crush, Melon Mambo, Regal Rose, Neenah White, Various DSP
Accessories: Lg Heart Punch, Scallop Heart Embosslit, Modern Label & Word Window Punch, Dimensionals, Scor Tape, Small Cello Bags, Snickers

Well, that is all for me tonight!
Time for bed!
Thanks again for stopping by & have a good nite!

SC372~Happy Anniversary

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Today is Sketch Challenge day over at SCS and I had in mind to make some Anniversary cards for my card rack and so I used the challenge for that!

Below is Taylor's sketch and my sample...

I wanted to use some bright springy color today since the weather was quite nice here so I went with Daffodil Delight and an old SU set called Stipple Rose. I no longer own the stamp but had a few stamp off's in my Image Box and nothing spells love like roses!

I'm pretty happy with my yellow roses....what do you think??

Sketch Challenge 372 card:

Stamps: Stipple Rose, Sentiment from SU (not sure what set)
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Neenah White
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF, Circle Nestibilities, Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon, Basic Pearls, Hot Glue, Scor Tape

I'm working on taking pictures of Shawn's Valentine's card that I made him and some treats. I'll be back alittle later to post them unless my sick hubby needs my assistance. He's got a bad cold and I fed him supper and sent him to bed! Luckily, tomorrow evening he has a doctor appointment so maybe he can get some good meds to get this cold moving on out! I surely do NOT want it either! He needs to get better by Saturday since he is having a Scion meet at out house and we already postponed it once.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good evening!

Color Challenge 362

Hello & Happy Valentine's Day!

Today I needed to make one more Valentines card for my son and the Color Challenge fit it perfectly! The colors today are: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue & Kraft/Crumb Cake. I'm not real thrilled with my picture but it's the best I could do to show the embossed panel on the front.

ETA*** I took some new pictures today. Hopefully you can see the embossing better on these!

Color Challenge 362 Card:

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Kraft/Crumb Cake, Neenah White
Accessories: Sizzix EF's, MS Heart Border Punch, Silver Heart Button, Bashful Blue Satin Ribbon, Hot Glue, Scor Tape

If your thinking you seen this card before, you have! I cased a card I made a few weeks ago in different colors. I wanted to make sure I got plenty of use out of those 2 embossing folders!

Well, my hubby just got in from work and he's out in the kitchen making a special dinner for us for Valentine's Day! We have never gone out to dinner on this day because every place is usually packed and this way we include the kids and that's fine with me!

Happy Valentine's Day, friends!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Sketch Challenge 371

Hello & Happy Thursday!!

Hope your all having a great day so far!
It started snowing here in PA before noon time and from what I can see from my window, it's laying on the trees & grass. Not sure about the roads since the last few days have hit 50 degrees!
The snow always paints a beautiful scenery picture, doesn't it?

Today is Sketch Challenge day over at Splitcoaststampers. Below is the sketch that Holly threw out at us and my sample.

I needed a card for some friends of ours from the Scion car club. Their baby is due on Leap Year so I wanted to make sure I got it done in time before she goes into labor! Edgar & Amy are very good friends of ours and we're excited for them welcoming a new little one into their lives!

Sketch Challenge 371 Card:

Stamps: Riley & Company, Verve Sentment
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Neenah White
Accessories: Circle Nestibilities, Snow Dots & Herringbone EF's, Blue Satin Ribbon from AC Moore, SU Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Then today Kelsey ran out to grab our mail and found this SUPER ADORABLE card in there from a blogging friend that I had the pleasure of meeting last May at a stamping get together at L & L Stamps! Mary Anne, this card blew me away! It's so pretty and I love looking at all the interesting things on it! Also it's a gate fold card and I love those! The hearts, pearls, butterflies, rhinestones.....are all so pretty & perfectly placed! BUT, most of all....the surprise of receiving a beautiful hand made card in the mail is just AWESOME! Thank you so much for thinking of me! I love it! :)

Well, that's all for now!
Hubby is on his way home from work so I need to go get my supper made so I can come back to my stamp/family room to watch American Idol later tonight! It's Hollywood week so this will be interesting! :)

Thanks again for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Color Challenge 361

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

It's Color Challenge day over at SCS.
The colors are: Soft Suede, Poppy Parade & Daffodil Delight.

I sat and thought about these colors for awhile before digging in to make my card. Right away daffodils came to mind and I found these pretty flowers in my Image Box. I colored them and then the rest of the card fell into place.

Color Challenge 361 Card:

Stamps: Flower of the Month
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Neenah White
Accessories: Seeing Spots & Square Lattice EF's, Circle & Scallop Circle Nestibilties, Gold Brads, Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon, Hot Glue, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

I also went for the dessert option on this card. It was to use eyelets or brads!

Very pretty birthday card for in my stash, don't ya think?

Well, Shawn is on his way home from work so I need to go get my supper finished then take Fluffy for a walk. Another gorgeous day before snow comes tomorrow! Yes, I said SNOW! How can this be after all these gorgeous days we've been having! Ughh! Guess it's just a reminder that winter is still here....

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Sketch Challenge 348

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope your all having a great day so far!

On Sunday I went in search of some sketches that I could use to make some more holiday cards for the craft show that comes in November. I usually make about 25 cards for myself and the rest go towards the show. I found a bunch of Sketch Challenges that I missed towards the end of last year due to the move back to PA. I kept the sketches on my computer so I can go back and use them gradually. Here is the layout from Sketch Challenge 348 and my sample.

My card is a little washed out but I really think it's just my Taken with Teal ink pad. It's kinda wonky and of course I can't purchase another one because this color is no longer available. I love Taken with Teal!!!

Sketch Challenge 348 Card:

Stamps: Contempo Christmas, Heard From the Heart
Ink: Taken with Teal, Memento Black
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Taken with Teal, Neenah White, Holiday Lounge DSP
Accessories: Snow Burst EF, Ornament Punch, Silver Cord, Silver Beads, Stamp A Ma Jig, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

One more card for my Christmas card pile!!

Well, that is all for now!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Just for Fun

Hello & Happy Friday!

Today, I did some stamping just for me! It's always fun to do that!
I have a few birthdays coming up and my card rack is looking pretty low on birthday cards as well so I will try to get a bunch made in the coming days!
I grabbed a pack of retired A Walk in the Park DSP and matched up colors I needed. I colored another flower image from the retired set called Scented Garden. I love this rose image! I used an EK Success Punch for some interest and then added my sentiment & bow with pearl brad. I think it has a springy feel to it and I love the look of the punch!

Happy Birthday Card:

Stamps: Scented Garden, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Baja Breeze, Basic Gray, Neenah White, A Walk in the Park DSP
Accessories: Word Window & Modern Label Punch, EK Success Border Punch, Baja Breeze Grosgrain, Pearl Brad, Scor Tape

Well, that is all for me tonight!
Tomorrow i'm off to spend the afternoon with my stamp girls at Deb K's Amuse party then I hope to do some stamping afterwards!
I'll share what I make then!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great Friday night!
