The Maryland Blue Crab

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Hope everyone had a fun filled weekend!
We surely did!

We were in Maryland celebrating our anniversary!
After 26 years with this man he surprised me with a long weekend get away which was definitely MUCH NEEDED! We stayed right on the water and spent most our evenings watching sunsets & the boats coming & going. It was super relaxing and just what the doctor ordered! I can't tell you just how nice it was to get away and enjoy some downtime with Shawn although the mosquito's were bad and of course bit the daylights out of me, I still had a fabulous time!

I knew a few days ahead of time that we were going away and once I seen the photo's of where we were going I spied this picture hanging on a wall in the studio apartment. I was inspired by that photo to create a Thank You card for the owners.

Here is the picture and my photo of the card....

I was tickled to pieces that my card looked just like the picture and can you believe that I left without letting my card there! It will be sent out in the mail tomorrow.

Thank You Card:

Stamps: By The Seashore (retired), inside sentiment from Amuse
Ink: Versamark, Night of Navy
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Accessories: Winter White EP, Heat Gun, 2 Sided Tape

The apartment we stayed in was all done in a nautical theme thru out the bedroom, living room, kitchen & bathroom. Everything was super nice except I could have done without the bug bites! We had 2 docks to fish/crab off of, a pool to use and another day it stormed so we just kinda toured the area and went out for a fish & chips supper at a local place that came highly recommended. Another day we went to Ocean City for the afternoon and of course we had to get some Thrasher's French Fries, a funnel cake and some Fisher's Popcorn for the return trip back to PA. We totally blew our dieting out of the water but it was a fun time!

Our view in the evenings...

These are pictures of the Bay Bridge that goes over the Chesapeake Bay. I have never gone across this bridge much less seen it in person and all I could say is "WOW"! Shawn was a nervous wreck going across it because he does not like heights.

The view of the marina across the water from us was so pretty & peaceful.
I told Shawn this was the highlight of my trip!

This was a metal figure that was on one of the dock posts. I thought it was pretty cool!

And that's a few pictures of our anniversary get away!
It was amazing, fun & just perfect....just like my Buppie!

Haha, that's right!

That's all I have for today!
Laundry is waiting on me!

Thanks for stopping by & have a terrific day!

Thinking of You Card Set

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Halfway thru the week already! WooHoo!

Today I have a card set to share that I made up with a new hostess set called Time of Year.
I see so many possibilities with this set, especially Christmas!

Here is what I made with a summertime feel to them....

I used a sheet of Fruit Stand DSP and some Peekaboo Peach cardstock and put these together rather quickly on to a Thick Whisper White cardbase.
My sentiment panel was cut using Circle Nestibilities and popped up with 3 dimensionals. I added my Peekaboo Peach bow with a glue dot.
I really love the font in this stamp set and the different idea's this set could be used for!

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Today is a special day, Shawn & I's 26th wedding anniversary!

Everything on my card is pretty much retired except for the sayings.
Oh and do you see under my sail boat...I used the new Seaside Embossing Folder so it looks like water! I think it gives a really nice look!

This card is made from the directions I got yesterday off of Patty Bennett's blog on making a different type of Z Fold. She has a video you can watch. Here is the link. It's super easy! Hope you will give it a try!

I think my hubby will like this card. He likes anything with the beach & the ocean!

Number of Years Birthday Set

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

What a beautiful day we are in for today!
We finally got a bit of a break with the hazy, hot & humid weather but they are saying tomorrow it will be back....and with a vengeance! I saw nothing but mid to upper 90's for all weekend long! Blah, Blah, Blah!!!
Guess Shawn & I better get our bike rides in while we can!
Last evening we went to the Rail Trail and rode for 8 miles! I'm so feeling it today in my knees.

So, I recently had a card order to fulfill for a customer. She asked for a pack of birthday cards with flowers. I did a pack for her not too long ago with the Number of Years stamp set but they were for an Anniversary. I kept with the same layout but used Sweet Sugarplum, one of the new In Colors! She loved them!

And I am loving this new color!
What do you think??

Swirly Bird Kites

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

What a day!
I spent most of the day in the kitchen baking up a batch of Lemon Glazed Zucchini Bread, regular Zucchini Bread and a pot of Cabbage & Corned Beef. The cabbage sure made the house stinky! It's a meal that I don't make too often but we love cabbage!

Once I made my way downstairs I finally found my Swirly Bird stamp set that I have had since the new catalog came out. I thought I lost it! Fell behind a bunch of other stamp sets.....that should tell you that I have way TOOOO many!

Here is my card for today!

Of course I had to use Dapper Denim once again....I love this color!

I stamped my kites with Dapper Denim and the solid part of the kites image is also Dapper Denim but I stamped off once on a piece of scratch paper so it would give the kite a 2 toned look. And look at the ribbons on the kite strings....I couldn't help but put some rhinestones on them!

My card is also a Gate Fold Card. Haven't made one of these in...well, forever!

I also used my new Thoughtful Banners stamp set & coordinating punch for the sentiment.
Love it!

Celebrate Card:

Stamps: Swirly Bird, Thoughtful Banners
Ink: Dapper Denim, Soft Sky
Cardstock: Dapper Denim, Soft Sky, Thick Whisper White, Dapper Denim In Color DSP
Accessories: Thoughtful Banners, Punch, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

My thought for today.......

That's all for today!
Headed out for a bike ride! WooHoo!

Thanks for stopping by & have a terrific day!

Petal Potpourri Get Well Card

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Hope your all enjoying the weekend!
It's been so hot here in PA and I am starting to quickly wish for Fall to come!
Yesterday, Shawn & I took a ride down many country roads to a farm stand that we have nick named "the telephone booth" because obviously it looks like one! The next time I go I will take a picture! It is a self serve stand that has all kinds of produce. We went in search of some tomatoes, green peppers and cabbage. We found all that and more for under $10. I was thrilled with our finds but even more so the time spent with him on our ride thru the country! The sky was starting to bubble up and get dark as storms were approaching but of course, till we made it back to Red Lion....it completely missed us. Our grass is getting drier & more brown by the day with this heat & humidity we've been dealing with. So yea, i'm praying for rain and a good cool down.

Anyways, today we slept in way longer than usual. It's hard sleeping in past 6 am anymore. Bailee came in the bedroom and woke me up around 10 because she was waiting on breakfast! Once that chore was done I got my coffee and sat down to blog surf. My Keurig was all set up to brew my coffee, all I had to do was hit the button. My first sip was cold. Eww, nothing like cold coffee! Shawn had unplugged it yesterday to put up my last couple of pieces of backsplash and thinks that it did not do it's preheat thing. Ughh sometimes modern technology does not agree with me! I am so old school about lots of things and I have hung on to my old coffee pot incase of an emergency!

So, today I do have a quick card to share. I am out of Get Well cards for my own stash so I needed to remedy that! I got out my very loved stamp set, Petal Potpourri and got to work!

I got the Sahara Sand Lace Trim off the Clearance Rack not too long ago for a good price and seen that I never opened it. That was my motivation behind the card. The card base is Sahara Sand and the DSP is Something Borrowed all from the 2015 Occasions Mini Catalog. My sentiment is from the Thoughts & Prayers set. The flower is stamped in Sahara Sand as well with a white pearl in the center. It is popped up with a Dimensional so the Lace Trim can lay flat under it.
I love the stamps sets that have the coordinating punches to go with it! Makes things SO much easier!

Get Well Soon Card:

Stamps: Petal Potpourri, Thoughts & Prayers
Ink: Sahara Sand
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Whisper White, Something Borrowed DSP
Accessories: Sahara Sand Lace Trim, White Pearl, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

That's so true!

That's all for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!
Stay cool!
