Girlfriend

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Can you believe today is the last day of May???!! This year really is zipping by!

Today, we had breakfast out with the family at Cracker Barrel. That place has such good hearty food but I stuck to my guns today and ordered some fruit and a berry parfait. Really trying hard to get a few pounds off especially by cutting out sugar. It sure is tough some days!

Anyways, once we got home I went down to my stamp table and whipped out another girly card. I really like the colors & papers of this one.....

Going to see if I can sneak a few more later tonight!

Masculine Cards

Hello & Happy Thursday!

It's a dreary, cool & rainy day here in PA. Not at all feeling like summer. I guess technically it's still spring but there is a chill in the air today. Even the dogs did not want to go out in this yukky weather. I headed downstairs to ride my exercise bike then felt the need to make some masculine cards. My card rack only has 2 on it. Some people struggle with making masculine cards but they are probably one of my favorite's beside Christmas cards. So I grabbed my box of masculine stamps and got to work!

Both cards took all but 45 minutes to whip up. They are nothing fancy but then guy cards aren't suppose to be fancy!

Masculine Card 1:

Stamps: Northwoods Rubber Stamps, Sentiments inside from Endless Creations
Ink: Always Artichoke
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Sahara Sand, Neenah White, Too the Nines DSP

Masculine Card 2:

Stamps: Fish from Great Impressions, SU Sentiment, inside sentiment unknown
Ink: Always Artichoke, Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Neenah White, Chocolate Chip, Basic Grey DSP
Accessories: Stamp A Ma Jig, Circle Clip Chocolate Chip Grosgrain, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that's all for me!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #110

Hello & Happy Monday!

Happy Memorial Day to you, too!

I'm a bit late with getting my blog updated this morning. Decided to sleep in this morning as I had the bed to myself. Shawn & Kelsey got up and went fishing this morning. I'm totally taking advantage of a quiet house for a few hours!

Today we have a new challenge over at Merry Monday! The talented Debbie Henderson is our hostess this week, so let's get to it!

I thought this challenge was so fun! I knew exactly which stamp I wanted to use when Debbie's challenge was posted! I had this Lockhart Stamp Co. Holly Cupcake for quite a few years and it's been sitting collecting dust and i'm thrilled that I was able to ink it up! It's a fun image to color too! As you can see I made my card with the SU Circle Card Framelits Die. We use to call these type of cards "flip cards" because the circle is cut and flips to either side. This die is brilliant! Anyways, I pulled out some pretty red holly paper that I got at JoAnn's and got started. My card is a bit longer than the normal die as I cut & scored mine longer before it went thru the Big Shot with the die. It worked out great as now I have a pocket inside of mine that I can place a gift card, money or even a little note! I'm so pleased with this card! What do you think??

Merry Monday Week #110 Card:

Stamps: Lockhart Stamp Co. Cupcake, Amuse sentiment, Christmas Messages
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers, Real Red
Cardstock: Real Red, Glorious Green, Neenah White, Holly DSP from JoAnn's
Accessories: Circle Card Framelit Die, Circle & Scallop Circle Nesties, Jolee's Holly Stickers, Stamp A Ma Jig, Liquid Mono

Hope you can pop over to the Merry Monday blog to see what the other ladies have created this week and also play along! I can't wait to see what yummy things find their way into our gallery!

Well, that's all for me today!
I'm off to my craft room for a bit to play! I have spent the last week downstairs cleaning out and then rearranging my craft area. I went thru boxes & boxes of cards that I have made over the years. Hard to believe the stuff we accumulate!
We had a nice little cookout yesterday with my parents and the weather was just beautiful to sit outside! Today will be low keyed & quiet. A great day to go get inky!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!
Happy Memorial Day!

Hershey Hugs & Kisses Treats

Hello again!

If your looking for my Merry Monday post please scroll down.

This afternoon I sat and made some candy treats for a lady that my Dad knows. She wanted 8 little candy treats for some lady friends of hers and she needed them by this Thursday. I always have some sort of candy in my stash as long as Mr Aungst doesn't find it! I wanted something that was quick & easy to whip up with a touch of bling.

I love the Chalk Talk Framelits as they made a dear little tag. I pulled my cardstock colors from the colors of the Hershey Hugs & the Hershey's Cookies & Cream Kisses. My tag is Chocolate Chip cardstock which I embossed with the Chevron EF. My flower was punched with the Blossom Punch and I used the Marina Mist Polka Dot Parade DSP.  I took my bone folder and curled up each petal of my flower to add some interest. The center was stamped with Chocolate Chip using Friendly Phrases stamp set, punched out with circle punches. It is popped up and then I added the rhinestones for a bit of bling.  My small cello bag is tied shut with the 1/8 inch Marina Mist Taffeta Ribbon. I am very pleased with these and think I have to make more!

Hershey Treat Bags:

Stamps: Friendly Phrases
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Whisper White, Marina Mist Polka Dot Parade DSP
Accessories: Blossom Punch, Circle Punches, Chevron EF, Rhinestones, Marina Mist 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals, Liquid Mono

Well, that's all for now!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Combined Challenges

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope everyone is doing well.
Sorry for my absence yesterday, my hubby had a day off so I spent the day with him taking a trip down to Havre de Grace, Maryland. It was a hot & humid day. We've not had many of those yet this year! Today is back to spring weather which I like a whole lot better!

Since he went back to work today, I had a chance to get inky in my stamp room. Since I missed yesterday's pretty colors for the SCS Color Challenge 478, I decided today to combine it with today's Sketch Challenge 488.

Here are the color's & the sketch along with my sample.

Merry Monday Challenge Week #108

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a great weekend and a nice Mother's Day!
I spent some time with my Mom on Saturday because she had plans to go to my younger brother's for Mother's Day. She was just getting over the stomach bug that was going around so I hope I did not pick up any of her yukky germs. Yesterday, I spent the day with my hubby & 2 doggies out working in the yard & doing laundry. No rest to be had for me. It sure was a beautiful day here in PA! Couldn't have asked for a better day!

So, since it's Monday.....that means it's time for another challenge from over at Merry Monday!
Lori is our wonderful hostess this week, so let's get started!

I found this very cute paper at Hobby Lobby a few weeks ago and loved the country feel to it. When I seen Lori's challenge I pulled this paper out since it had stars in it. I added no sentiment to the front as the words in the paper were enough. I added some of the Gold Twine that Stampin Up carried back at Christmastime. That stuff is pretty thick so I did not tie a bow. I layered a Cherry Cobbler star then a Champagne star on top with a button and called it done. Hope you like!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #108 Card:

Stamps: inside sentiment from Stampendous
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock: Neenah White, Cherry Cobbler, The Paper Studio DSP
Accessories: Gold Twine, Lg Star Punch, Sizzix Star Die, Button, Glue Dot, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

That's all for me today!
We are expecting a heatwave today (86 degrees) and thankfully hubby got our air conditioners put in this weekend. I'm ready for summer now!
Stay cool!
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Color Challenge 477

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

What a gorgeous day we are having today so i'm going to make this short so I can get outside a bit with Gigi & Bailee.

Here are today's colors from the Color Challenge over at SCS and my project....

The colors are: Pool Party, Basic Black & White. The dessert option was to use stencils which I don't have any so I had to pass on dessert.

I made myself a covered tablet to help keep track of my food intake.

Had my trip to see the family doctor yesterday and he got the results back from my blood work that was done on Saturday. My pre-diabetic levels drop a bit but i'm still in the pre-diabetic range. Got to work harder on that! My thyroid level went up a good bit so he upped my daily dose of Synthroid and everything else was ok. Lost a few pounds and I really need to work harder especially now that my back is feeling better! I am still having pain when I stand but for the most part it's getting better. Walking has been wonderful and i've been taking full advantage of that!
So, the doctor gave me some suggestions on lowering my sugar intake and suggested that I keep track of it. That's where my little tablet comes into play. I covered it with the Sweet Sorbet DSP and dug out a great sentiment to hopefully keep me on track! I stamped some Petite Petals and punched them out with the coordinating punch and added some pretty white pearls to them. I added a piece of black grosgrain as a bookmark and a pretty Pool Party bow on the front and called it done.

Color Challenge 447 Tablet:

Stamps: Petite Petals, saying from Inkadinkado
Ink: Memento Black, Pool Party
Cardstock: Basic Black, Whisper White, Sweet Sorbet DSP
Accessories: Oval & Oval Lacey Nesties, Petite Petals Punch, White Pearls, Basic Black Grosgrain, Pool Party Satin Ribbon, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

That's all for today!
Time to get out & enjoy the sunshine!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!
