Spooky Bats

Hello & Happy Monday from PA!
Home Sweet Home!

Today i'm sharing with you an adorable glass vase with a Stampin Up Decor Elements sticker on it! I have never purchased a Decor Elements product before so I wasn't sure what I was getting into but my hubby use to have a decal vinyl cutter and placing the decals were pretty easy so I was hoping the Decor Elements would be too!
I had ordered the Spooky Bats Decor Elements sticker and thought to place it on a glass jar or vase so that I could put a candle inside it and light it for Halloween.
Here was the finished product and I LOVE IT!!

I know the one at night is pretty hard to see but it was the best I could do!

Spooky Halloween Vase:

Accessories: Spooky Bats Decor Elements, Glass Vase, SU Black Lace Trim, Glue Dots, Candle

Well, i'm off to do something fun!
Having a terrific time being home!

PA or Bust

Hello & Happy Friday!

By the time you read this I hope to be about half way back to Pennsylvania!
It's vacation time for us and it will be SO good to be back with our friends & family!
1098 longggg miles in the truck will take us about 17-18 hours with a few stops to the rest stops and to let Fluffy out but it's all worth it to go back! One of these days it will be for good! :)

So how ya like my card??
I found this Pennsylvania stamp on Ebay a few months back and couldn't turn it down. The little license plate came from a scrapbook store here in Joplin and it almost fit inside the state image on my stamp. I pulled the colors from the license plate.

Pennsylvania is where MY heart is!!!

See you all tomorrow!
Thanks again for stopping by & have a great day!

Ways To Use It Challenge 337

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Another busy day! I'm almost packed but Shawn is another story! He doesn't have 1 thing ready except for the truck! LOL

I got most of my work done so I wanted to go play alittle in my stamp room. I checked out today's Ways To Use It Challenge 337. It was themed "Recycling"! How easy was this challenge??
When we moved from PA to MO I had gone thru a bunch of Christmas cards that I had recieved and cut the fronts off to use for a quick card. To this day I have never used any of them so today was the day to dig them out and use one!

I cut this card front down to fit my card base. I pulled the colors from the image on my recycled card. The sentiment was also on the original card that I had to cut off and reuse.
I added some ribbon trimmed with gold and a few gold beads.
I love this!!!

Ways To Use It Challenge 337 Card:

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Very Vanilla, Old Recycled Christmas Card
Accessories: Gold Beads, Gold Trimmed Ribbon, Scor Tape

Doesn't get much easier than that which is good on a day like today!
We are heading back to PA tonight for a much needed vacation but please continue to stop back for I have a few things lined up for the blog. I also hope to do some challenges from back home too! :)

Well, that's all from me for today!
See ya from PA tomorrow!

In Memory of Will Norton

Hello & Happy Saturday!!

Today is the Our Creative Corner Challenge. Vicki is our hostess and she threw at us a Sketch Challenge. Below is the sketch and my samples but before I get to that i'd like to explain the title of my blog post today.

Yesterday, as I watched the news it was brought up that a young man from here in Joplin was killed in the May 22nd tornado. He would have been 19 years old yesterday. As I watched this I got teary eyed and just felt like this young man had so much to offer the world! He was on his way home from his high school graduation when the tornado struck and took him. A life taken way too soon. I in no means knew this young man but his story was one that everyone around the country followed in the days after the tornado. So, as I made today's card I had Will Norton in mind. Happy Birthday, Will Norton!!

Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge:

Stamps: Extreme Guitar (set #104), A Little Somethin
Ink: Soft Suede, Night of Navy
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Soft Suede, Neenah White, Basic Grey Granola DSP

Here is the news link on Will Norton if you'd like to check it out.

Ways To Use It Challenge 336

Hello & Happy Thursday, friends!

Up and at it bright & early again! No thanks though to the weather radio for going off at 4:30am for Severe Thunderstorms that were moving thru the area. I know I complain about that BUT thank God for weather radio's to notify you in a weather emergency! Living in PA this was never a huge deal but having moved here to the midwest....it's a whole new ballgame for us "east coasters"!

Anyways, I checked out the Ways To Use It Challenge and got right to work on it after Shawn left for work this morning. It took me 45 mins to make & upload my pictures and that's a huge deal for me! LOL Today's challenge was to use VersaMark on our cards/projects. My mind went right to this new SU background stamp called Hello, Doily! I have been wanting to use it and today's challenge gave me to kick start to do so!
I used the VersMark on my Tempt. Turq. and then heat embossed it with SU White Embossing Powder and as it was melting on the cardstock from the heat gun I was just amazed at how clear this stamp embosses! It's beautiful!! :)

Ways To Use It Challenge 336 Card:

Stamps: Hello, Doily (set #103), Sentiment from SU
Ink: Memento Black, VersaMark
Cardstock: Tempting Turq., PTI White
Accessories: Circle & Circle Scallop Nestibilties, White Grosgrain, SU Basic Pearls, SU White Embossing Powder, Heat Gun, Scor Tape

I soooooooooo LOVE the turnout of this! Makes me happy I purchased this beautiful stamp because I can see a bunch more cards coming with this stamp! WooHoo!

Well, that's all from me today, friends!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Holiday Woodcuts Gift Card

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a great day!
I was in my stamp room most of day getting stuff wrapped up for the craft show. The craft show isn't until November but i'm taking the majority of the stuff back home when we go for vacation and dropping it off at the farm and then come November I will ship off my last package of goodies in time for the show. I normally work on Christmas all year round just to prepare for this. Today I made a gift card holder with an image I found in my box. I'm really trying to use up those images but I bet it'll take me 10 more years to do so! LOL The image on my card comes from an older set that I do not have called Holiday Woodcuts. I'm pretty sure I stamped this off years ago from Deb. :)

Gift cards are a big thing at the show and I also like to keep a bunch on hand for myself! Since all my kids are now grown they'd much rather have gift cards or money for Christmas and truthfully that makes it much easier for me!!!

Holiday Woodcuts Gift Card Holder:

Stamps: Holiday Woodcuts, Hero Arts, Amuse
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, GP White, Four Seasons DSP
Accessories: MS Loopy Border Punch, Word Window & Modern Label, Circle & Scallop Circle Punches, Kaiser Blue Rhinestones, Jolee's Snowflakes w/Rhinestones, Blue Twill, Hot Glue, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for me today!
Off for a good night's sleep then more fun tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by & have a good evening!

Today Our Creative Corner Challenge hostess, Kristin, challenged us to use her picture as inspiration to make a card or project using fruit!
Below is her picture and then my samples....

I pulled out another old set from SU called Sweet Treats that I just can't seem to part with! Of course I pulled out the sundae stamp because of the scrumptious cherry that is on top! This is also my 100th set used in my quest to see that all my stamps see ink in 2011!! WooHoo!!
I probably have 100 more to go! LOL

Our Creative Corner Challenge Card:

Stamps: Sweet Treats (Set #100) Sentiment from A Word For You
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Close to Cocoa, Pretty in Pink, Neenah White, Love Me DSP

Free 4 All Challenge #77

Hello & Happy Friday!

Busy day here at the Aungst residence!

I had this idea in my mind all day for this card for today's Free 4 All Challenge 77 and once I was able to get to my stamp table I could not get it to go the way I had pictured it! Dawn was our hostess for today's challenge and she themed it "Frame It Up". Well, I wanted to frame up my image from this adorable Christmas set but I just could not get it to look right so I just mounted my Oval & Oval Scallop as you normally would and I popped it up on dimensionals.
Take a look...

My card was inspired by a friend of mine from back in good ole PA, LeAnne Pugliese. She had made a card with this same set & papers a few months back and I just fell in love with it! LeAnne's card can be seen here .

Free 4 All Challenge 77 Card:

Stamps: Welcome Christmas (set #99)
Ink: Elegant Eggplant
Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Neenah White, Elegant Eggplant DSP
Accessories: Oval & Scallop Oval Nestibilties, White sheer Ribbon from Hobby Lobby, Eggplant Grosgrain, SU Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that is all for me tonight!
Thanks again for stopping by & have a great weekend!

Christmas Stocking Gift Card Holder

Hello again!

Yesterday, Vicki and I received our Stampin Up order! WooHoo!!
The new goodies in the Holiday Mini are awesome!
I had a chance to play with some of the new stuff!
The Stocking Die and the Frostwood Lodge DSP are fabulous!
This is what I made....

I really like this and plan to make more! You could really do many things with these like add some candy canes, gift cards, and of course money!
I added a Micheal's gift card that was a gift from last Christmas just for show. Even if your have a sewing machine you could make these stockings with material but I do not have one nor do I care to have one. Paper is my craft of choice! :)

Christmas Stocking:

Stamps: Hero Arts Sentiment
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Neenah White, Frostwood Lodge DSP
Accessories: SU Stocking Die, Circle & Lacey Circle Nestibilities, Eyelet, Silver Beads & Cord, Cherry Cobbler Polka Dot Scallop Grosgrain, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

That's all from me today!

Ways To Use It Challenge 335

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Today is the Ways To Use It Challenge 335. Our hostess, Toni, challenged us to use an image that generated heat or a technique that used heat. Suddenly, it came to mind this awesome card that my friend back in PA had us make at our last stamp girls get together. I had to go get it and add a few things to it to make it work for today's challenge!
Since moving to Joplin within the last year I have noticed the sunsets are some of the prettiest i've ever seen and this card reflects that!

Everything was Deb's design and all I added was the gold dragonfly brad and the ribbon. I then added a sentiment to the inside and called it finished!

Such a pretty card but I don't think the picture is all that great! Kelsey has been using my camera and I think she has changed my settings! Kids!

Ways To Use It Challenge 335 Card:

Stamps: Great Impressions
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie
Cardstock: So Saffron, Textured Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Circle Punch, Sponges, Gold Dragonfly Brad, Grosgrain Ribbon from stash, Scor Tape

Well, that is all from me for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a really great day!
~Wendy
