Festive Friday

 Hello & Happy Fri-YAY, Friends!

The other day I challenged myself to buy less of the new Stampin Up! Holiday Mini catalog since I am just a hobby demo and start using what is in my 25 years of stamp collecting! Lord knows I have wall to wall stamps, ink & paper that will last me the rest of my life! So, today is my 1st holiday card using what's in my stash! I pulled out a used retired set that I picked up some time ago at L&L Stamps. It is a wood mounted set from 2005 called Renaissance Angels.

Card Details:

Stamps: Renaissance Angels (retired 2005), Four the Holidays (retired 2009)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock: Thick Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, Festive Farmhouse DSP (retired 2018)
Accessories: Everyday Arches Dies, Stylish Shapes Dies, Cherry Cobbler Twine (retired), Holiday Rhinestones (retired), Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

If you have been following me for awhile now you know that I love pulling out the old stamps and breathing new life into them. Blowing the dust off of them and inking them up in fresh ink always makes me smile and this card definitely makes me smile!

I'm going to challenge you to pull out your old stamps and make a Christmas card every Friday for Festive Friday up until Christmas! It's a great way to use what we already have in our stashes!

Merry Monday Challenge 197

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
I am still dealing with a head cold so I stayed inside watching movies with my hubby this weekend. Our weather was very cold with snow showers. What a way to welcome spring!!

Today we have a new challenge for you over at Merry Monday!
It's my turn to be the hostess so let's get to it!

This is actually the 2nd card I created for my challenge, The first one I used an embossing folder with a church on but I could not get a very good picture of it so I moved on to making another card. I have grown fond of the Mossy Meadow color so I used that for this card. My church is from a retired stamp set called Silent Night and it was just perfect for this challenge. It stamps such a crisp clear image! My sentiment comes from a retired set as well called Four The Holidays. I put my panel at the lower right hand corner of my card so I could use some Mossy Meadow Thick Twine in the left hand corner. I added 2 white pearls at the sentiment for interest and called it done.

I hope you will stop by the Merry Monday blog to see all the wonderful cards my team mates created this week! Those ladies are amazing!

Merry Monday Challenge 197 Card:

Stamps: Silent Night, Four The Holidays
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Cardstock: Mossy Meadow, Whisper White
Accessories: White Pearls, Mossy Meadow Thick Twine, Tombow Liquid Glue

Hope you will join along this week!

That's all for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #65

Hello & Happy Monday!

It's been crazy around here at the Aungst Pad with Shawn on his new work schedule.
Merry Monday is a tad late for me this week because I just forgot! I had to ask him this morning what day it was and remembered that I did not get the blog updated. Better late than never I guess!

It's a rainy Monday morning here in south central PA and it's time for another sketch this week from Lesley for this week's Merry Monday Challenge. Hope you can hop on over to her blog and check out what the rest of the Merry Makers created this week and possibly play along! Before too long you'll have a nice set of Christmas cards ready to go!

So, here we go....

Another easy peasy sketch that I enjoyed! I used an old scrapbook paper kit from many years ago for this card. I'm trying very hard to use all my old papers so my stash will someday get smaller! This collection is called Snowy Days from Pebbles. On the snowflake paper I have added some different sized Rhinestones just to give it a bit of sparkle. My big snowflake at the top is a retired snowflake punch from SU with a Rhinestone in the center. A strip of Silver Glimmer paper on the side that I ran thru my SU Scalloped Edge Border Punch and then added my sentiment from the retired Four the Holidays set and called this one done!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #65 Card:

Stamps: Four the Holidays
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Might of Navy, Neenah White, DSP from Snowy Days Scrapbook Kit by Pebbles
Accessories: SU Snowflake Punch, Rhinestones, SU Scalloped Edge Border Punch, 2 Sided Tape

Hope you can play along with us this week!

Well, that is all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #63

Hello & Happy Monday!

It's Monday and that means it's time for another sketch from Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper.

This week's sketch is an easy one!
I only have a bit of this holly paper left from the Holly Berry Bouquet DSP and a few of these felt holly leaves left so I thought i'd use them up and stop hoarding it. I have so much in paper & scraps that I just need to use.
My sentiment is from the Four the Season set. I added 2 red rhinestones and called my card done!

Merry Monday Week #63 Card:

Stamps: Four the Season
Ink: Wild Wasabi
Cardstock: Wild Wasabi, Real Red, Neenah White, Holly Berry Bouquet DSP
Accessories: Circle Punches, Felt Holly Berries, Red Rhinestones, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that's all for me today!
I know it's been awfully quiet here on the blog but my hubby has been home for almost a week now dealing with yet again, kidney stones! I haven't spent anytime downstairs creating since he's been home. It's been 7 days and he still has not passed the stone. All I can say is, it must be a doozey!

Also would like to say a very Happy Birthday to my youngest daughter, Kelsey. She turns 20 years old today!! We had a little family party for her on Saturday with cake & ice cream. It was a fun time!
We had a cookout/birthday party in the garage since it ended up being rainy & dreary out.
Shady, Kelsey, Ryan, me, Dawkins & Kirsten
 Gigi
Kelsey got icing smeared on her cheek from Berto and she's still smiling!

Happy Birthday, Binky!!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #62

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope all the Mom's out there had a wonderful day with their families!
I spent Saturday with my Mom for a bit. Then on Mother's Day she had plans to go to my younger brother's for a big dinner so i'm sure she had a nice day!
My day was nice! I spent time with all 3 of my kiddo's, the 2 grandpuppies, son in law and my little fur baby, Gigi. Shawn made some burgers on the grill but it was a tad too chilly to sit outside on our new picnic table. It was a gift to Shawn & myself for his birthday & mother's day. We will get lots of use out of it, i'm sure!

So, since it's Monday again, that means it's time for another sketch from Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper. She has some of the most awesome sketches around!

I loved this sketch the first time I seen it! I had some of these cute images in my Image Box from a few years back. They were stamped in Always Artichoke and I went & grabbed some paper to match. I added some glue & glitter to my image to resemble winter. When I made this card I had just found out the new color line up for Stampin Up and seen that Soft Sky was coming back as a Subtles color! I have always loved this color! My card base is Soft Sky and the next layer is Always Artichoke with my Wintergreen DSP. I added some Soft Sky ribbon & pearls to finish my card and I just love it! I will be making a pack of these for my craft show! :)

Merry Monday Week #62 Card:

Stamps: To You & Yours, Four the Season (sentiment)
Ink: Always Artichoke
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Always Artichoke, Whisper White,Wintergreen DSP

Hope you can stop by Lesley's blog to see what the other Merry Makers have created this week and maybe play along! It's wonderful having these cards made way before the holidays get here which means less stress!

Well, that's all for today!

Merry Monday Week #46

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine was quite busy!
Went Saturday to have an eye exam. My first ever! Turns out my eyes are pretty bad and they put me in bifocals! I picked out my frames so now it's a waiting game till they are ready for pick up! Shawn's vision wasn't quite as bad as mine but then he is younger than me. He picked out glasses as well. The eye doctor told me that these glasses will help me to see my projects much clearer and i'm hopin so!

Anyways, it's time for another challenge from Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper. This week it is a theme....

I stewed on this challenge for a week or so. Then I made a trip to L&L Stamps (my fav stamp store in the world!!!) and found this little blue jay stamp on sale. I colored him with my Copics then added some Diamond Stickles to his wing & tail and also my tree branch. My card base is Neenah White cardstock with a layer of Ballet Blue cardstock and another layer of White. I embossed a piece of Garden Green cardstock with the Snow Burst EF and placed it almost to the top of my card. Next I cut out my main blue jay image with my Square Nestibilities and hot glued my loopy bow on. Added my sentiment and some clear rhinestones to the corners and called it done. I'm quite happy with it!

Merry Monday Week #46 Card:

Stamps: Blue Jay from Northwoods Rubber Stamps, Sentiment from Four the Holidays
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Neenah White, Ballet Blue, Garden Green

Hope you like!

Well, that is all for me today!
