With Sympathy

Good Morning & Happy Thursday!

So sorry for not updating yesterday. Tuesday evening we had to take the living room furniture down to the family room since the new furniture was scheduled to come on Wednesday.
While we were downstairs we noticed the boiler/furnace was leaking water. I had a feeling something was wrong because on Monday I had heat turned on downstairs and it was quite cold down there. The mornings have been quite chilly/frosty lately and with this injection I am cold 90% of the time. I just did not think anything of it because the daytime temps have been hitting mid 70's. Once we saw the water leaking I knew something was off. So, yesterday the guy came that Shawn uses at work for HVAC stuff and had us back in business within 20 minutes. YAY! We have heat again! Oh, and the living room furniture is so nice! This is my second set of Lazy Boy furniture and it's just so well built and comfortable! Here is to another 20 years! LOL

Today, Shawn is back to work and I am set to watch 2 good Hallmark Christmas movies this morning then get some crafting done....at least that's the plan!
I wanted to share a card from World Cardmaking Day with you that the girls & I made. It was another quick & easy one!

Card Details:

Stamps: Lasting Lily (retired), Autumn Leaves (Million Dollar Sales Achiever Set)
Ink: Pecan Pie
Cardstock: Pecan Pie, Basic White, Iconic Celebrations DSP (Online Exclusives), Oxidized Copper Specialty Paper
Accessories: Autumn Leaves Dies, Oval Layering Framelits (retired), Neutral Adhesive Backed Sequins, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Guess I better get my butt moving....lots to do today!

Thoughtful Journey

 Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Today I have the 2nd card to share that we made on World Cardmaking Day.
This one was pretty easy! I pulled out my pack of Thoughtful Journey DSP and whipped up a quick card with it for the girls to make. I did embossed the one panel with the retired Tasteful Textile 3D EF because I love that it adds just a bit a texture to a card!

Card Details:

Stamps: Country Birdhouse
Ink: Pretty Peacock
Cardstock: Pretty Peacock, Basic White, Thoughtful Journey DSP
Accessories: Stylish Shapes Dies, Tasteful Textile 3D EF (retired), Pretty Peacock Sequins (retired), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

It's always nice to let the paper do all the work, too!
This was a favorite!

My doctor appointment went well last evening.
I have the same nurse each time I go and she is just such a sweetheart!
She is so gentle when doing my bloodwork and she loves to talk to Shawn & I!
I honestly think she spent more time with us than my doctor did!
I will update more about my check up once I get the results of my bloodwork back.

Afterwards we went to Kelsey's work and grabbed some dinner. Since I had a good doctor appointment I treated myself to a big meal for a change....Ribeye with a baked sweet potato & broccoli and a small cup of Beef Orzo soup. The soup was so hearty & just warmed the soul (on such a chilly day). The dinner was very good and I ended up taking home half my ribeye & broccoli. That will be lunch today!
Shawn is off today to go get the last of his tattoo finished. We may do a trip to Sam's Club once he's done since I need a few things. I like to get all my shopping done during the week so the weekends are free to do whatever!

Happy Birthday Fun Fold

 Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Yesterday turned out to be quite the blustery day!
I felt like I was in a Winnie the Pooh story! LOL
It also got much colder as the day went on and the leaves were just flying off the trees!
We did manage to get a walk in right before it got dark out so that was good but boy, was it cold! Today it is definitely much calmer out.

I am sharing a card that we made on World Cardmaking Day which was Saturday October 5th. I had my 2 good friends over to make some cards which I try to do every year. This is the 1st card we made because it is a fun fold card and a bit more complicated to make.

Card Details:

Stamps: Very Best Occasions (retired), Irresistible Blooms (Online Exclusives)
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Night of Navy, BoHo Blue, Basic White, Countryside Inn DSP
Accessories: Irresistible Blooms Dies (Online Exclusives), Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

The girls did a beautiful job with making their cards!
I may have a Christmas get together to make some cards in December if I am not to crazy busy!

Tonight I am off to my doctor appointment for a check up and then hitting the local diner for a quick supper out. I've been hungry for a good bowl of soup and since the chilly weather has set in it may be the perfect day for it!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Wildly Flowering HB

Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

Happy World Cardmaking Day, too!
My friends are coming over this morning for a Stamp Day w/ Friends get together to celebrate the occasion and we are making 4 cards. I'm still half asleep as I type this up this morning. LOL Shawn has been up since 3am and is bouncing off the wall already. I may need extra coffee to get me to that point!

Today I have a pretty card to share that I made for Audrey. These cards are part of a pack of 5 that also includes 3 masculine birthday cards. She wanted 3 for a man and 2 for a woman. So, I pulled out the Wildflower Designs suite and got to work.

Card Details:

Stamps: Happiest Day
Ink: Moody Mauve
Cardstock: Moody Mauve, Basic White, Wildly Flowering DSP
Accessories: Wildflower Designs Dies, Dashing Dots 3D EF, Moody Mauve In Color Enamel Dots (retired), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

She loved these 2 cards and I would not be surprised if she asked for more! I kept everything flat for easy mailing for her. I love how they turned out!

Skeleton Card

 Hello & Happy Thursday, Everyone!

Hope your week is going well!

Today I have card #5 from my World Card Making Day get together.
This one pretty much let's the paper do all the work!

The sentiment panel is made up of 3 of the small Tailor Made Tags Dies.
I cut them out with Basic White, Highland Heather & Black Glitter Paper and layered them. They are glued flat and surprisingly it did not bulk it up!
The sentiment was stamped with Highland Heather ink and it comes from a last years Ghoulish Goodies which was a favorite of mine!

My cardbase is Highland Heather then a layer of Basic White that we ran thru the Big Shot with the Macrame 3D Embossing Folder.
Next was 2 different pieces of the Cute Halloween DSP that we staggered on. We made sure to keep the skeleton piece to the top so it was visable.
Once we had the tag sentiment panel finished we tied our pretty Black Glittered Ribbon on to the tags with a nice flat bow. And last, we added some sparkle with a few rhinestones.

Card Details:

Stamps: Ghoulish Goodies (retired)
Ink: Highland Heather
Cardstock: Highland Heather, Basic White, Black Glitter Paper, Cute Halloween DSP
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Tailor Made Tags Dies, Macrame 3D EF, Rhinestones, Black Glittered Ribbon, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Halloween cards don't have to be scary when you have the right paper!
Loved this one!

Happy Boo Card

 Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Yesterday was a very busy day between cleaning the house, laundry & putting orders in! I could not wait until 6 pm last evening to put my pj's on and relax! It was a very dark & dreary day here which made it worse. It's to be like this for most of the week. The humidity is here so that means my AC is back on!

Today I have card #4 from Saturday's World Card Making Day get together with my friends! This one was so fun to put together and it was so nice to pull out an old stamp set called Spooky Bingo Bits from a few years ago and ink it up!

Card Details:

Stamps: Spooky Bingo Bits (retired)
Ink: Basic Black Archival (retired)
Cardstock: Basic Black, Basic White, Black Glitter Paper, Cute Halloween DSP
Accessories: Cobwebs 3D EF (retired), 1 inch Circle Punch, 1 1/4 Scallop Circle Punch, Frightful Tags Dies, Black & White Gingham Ribbon, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

The inside says "have some spooky fun"!

Owl Halloween Card

 Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Today I have card #3 to share that we made on Saturday for World Card Making Day! This was Miss Emily's favorite...

She loved the colors in this sheet of DSP and that adorable owl!
I agree!

Card Details:

Stamps: Frightfully Cute
Ink: Pumpkin Pie
Cardstock: Basic Black, Basic White, Flirty Flamingo, Basic Gray, Cute Halloween DSP
Accessories: Frightful Tags Dies, Stamparatus, Black Glittered Ribbon, Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

My hubby headed back to work today after 4 days off.
He tinkered around yesterday with his truck while I worked on some laundry.
Today it's housework for me but i'd rather be doing some stamping!
Hopefully tomorrow I can get back to my stamp table. I picked up some Fall candies over the weekend so I want to get a jump start on Thanksgiving treats before going full blown Christmas.
That is when my hands are really going to be a mess.
It's just hard to believe we are already into the first week of October already!

*********************************************
My thoughts today...

I'm definitely going to need an extra cup today!
Was up for about 2 hours during the night because of a very loud thunderstorm!
We had them 2 nights in a row!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

It's Halloween!

 Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
It sure got warm & muggy yesterday!
I had to break down and turn my AC back on as the girls were hot.
All in all it was a nice but busy weekend.
Shawn is off again today so I am going to make this a quick update!

Today I have card #2 to share from my World Card Making Day.
This card uses the Frightfully Cute stamp set and a retired set, The Raven.

Card Details:

Stamps: Frightfully Cute, The Raven (retired)
Ink: Basic Black Archival (retired), Mango Melody, Pumpkin Pie
Cardstock: Basic Black, Mango Melody, Basic White, Toil & Trouble DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Scalloped Contour Dies, Rhinestones, Sponge Dauber, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

The inside says "Celebrate if you dare"!

We started with a cardbase of Basic Black then a layer of Mango Melody that was diecut with the Scallop Contour Dies. Next we adhered a layer of DSP from the retired Toil & Trouble DSP that was diecut with the Stitched Rectangle Framelits. Then a layer of Basic White that was diecut with the Scallop Contour Dies.
I love that they have so many different sizes and styles of scallops!
We stamped our moon from the Frightfully Cute stamp set in Mango Melody then used a Sponge Dauber dabbing Pumpkin Pie ink on our stamp to give it a 2 toned look. Then we stamped our witch in Basic Black Archival ink. I know this ink is retired but I like use this ink since it's very bold and gives a nice image.
Then we stamped our sentiment and finished up with the rhinestones for sparkle!
Miss Emily loves her rhinestones!

Everything lays flat on this one for easy mailing!

A Halloween Hello

 Hello & Happy Sunday!

Hope your having a wonderful Fall weekend!

What a day yesterday!
I was up from 4:45am till 9:30pm!
We had Doggy Day Spa in the morning then right after was my World Card Making Day with my Stamp Day w Friends!
The weather was gorgeous and it was the perfect day for hanging with my friends for the afternoon! We made 5 Halloween cards!

This one was so fun to put together!
I started with a Pumpkin Pie cardbase then a layer of Basic White that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Cobwebs EF from last year. Next was a layer of Basic Black cardstock which we layered with a piece of Basic White cardstock that we put our scrap pieces of DSP on.
Next we stamped the sentiment from the retired Tags Tags Tags stamp set with Basic Black Archival ink and diecut them out with the retired Trio of Tags Dies. Then we added our Black & White Gingham bow to the tag.
Next we stamped our Mummy from the retired Halloween Cookie stamp set with Basic Black Archival ink (retired, too) on Smoky Slate cardstock. We punched him out using the retired Cookie Builder Punch.
Lastly, of course we had to add some rhinestones for bling!
Emily loves the rhinestones or sparkles as she calls them!
Card #1 is done...

Card Details:

Stamps: Cookie Cutter Halloween (retired), Tags Tags Tags (retired)
Ink: Basic Black Archival (retired)
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Basic White, Basic Black, Smoky Slate, Halloween Night DSP (retired)
Accessories: Cobwebs 3D EF (retired), Trio of Tag Dies (retired), Cookie Cutter Builder Punch (retired), Black & White Gingham Ribbon, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

We had a good time on World Card Making Day!
After we were finished the girls were on their way home and we picked Kelsey up and did some shopping & grabbed supper on the way home.
It was a fabulous day but man was I ever beat!
I don't even remember my head hitting the pillow last night!

Peppermint Patty Spider Boxes

 Hello & Happy Saturday!

Happy World Card Making Day, too!

My doggies are off to Doggy Day Spa this morning then this afternoon my friends are coming over to make some cards on this special day!
I can't wait!

Today I am sharing the last of my Halloween treats with you!
These are acetate boxes that Stampin Up! carries and are the perfect size to put 4 York Peppermint Patties in!
I know not everyone cares for the peppermint patties but I have a customer who usually requests them. I love them too!

I only took this one picture and hopefully you can see how they are decorated.
Each box has a piece of patterned paper wrapped around it measuring 2 x 10.
Once I adhered the wrapper on I wrapped some Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon around and tied a bow. This ribbon is very easy to work with and ties a beautiful bow!
I then diecut my spider web from the Frightful Tags Dies with Black Glittered Paper then I diecut my tag from the same set of dies and stamped them with the spider from the Cute Halloween stamp set. The saying comes from the Frightfully Cute set. I attached the spider web & tag with Dimensionals and lastly I added some Black Matte Enamel Dots.

I usually try to get my papers to match my candy wrappers and I had to dig deep for this sheet of paper. I'm not sure who the maker is.

Halloween Treat Box:

Stamps: Frightfully Cute, Cute Halloween
Ink: Gorgeous Grape, Basic Black Archival (retired)
Cardstock: Black Glitter Paper, Basic White, unknown Houndstooth Paper
Accessories: Frightful Tags Dies, Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon, Black Matte Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I hope you enjoyed seeing my 2021 Halloween Candy Treats this year!
I also hope that I have inspired you to create your own candy treats!
I enjoy making these as it's something different than making cards.
If you create your own treats, I would love to see them!
Shoot me an email, please!

It's All About the Candy!

Hello & Happy Sunday!

What a weekend it's been so far!

Yesterday began bright & early as I was up early to go to the York Heirloom Stamp Show with my friend, Deb! It's the first we've been to the show in several years and noticed it's getting smaller. Alot of the really good vendors are not there anymore which is so sad.
Anyways, we both picked up a few things and made our way back home but not without running into 3 of the stamp gang! We saw Nan, Karen & Cinda, everyone but Deb R.
Then we picked up Shawn and grabbed some lunch at Kelsey's work.
She was surprised to see us.
Her general manager came over to our table and told us how wonderful of a job she is doing bar-backing and waiting on tables. That's always a thing good to hear about your child!
After that we headed over to Lancaster County to an Antique Store where they were having some Columbus Day sales. Didn't find much there so we headed home then back out to grab some groceries. Today will not be as busy of a day as I said I was not doing much since football is on!
I also need to get bed sheets and blankets washed.
Last night we broke down and turned the heat on. I was trying hard to hold off a bit yet since a week & half ago it was 93 degrees. We also passed on going to the Pumpkin Walk. I don't think I could have walked one more step after my busy day!

Today I have one last thing to share that I made for all the stamp girls to carry their cards & treats home in....A Halloween Gift Bag!

I used that adorable Candy Corn Die that my friend, Mary Anne gifted me with!
I love that thing!

Project Details:

Stamps: A Halloween Hello (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie, Whisper White, Motley Monsters DSP (retired)
Accessories: Unknown Candy Corn Die, Circle Layering Framelits, Pumpkin Pie Enamel Dots (retired), Crushed Curry Ribbon (retired), Hot Glue Gun, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

My package of Motley Monsters DSP is just about done.
I may still try to squeeze in a few more cards with it so I can finally say goodbye to it.
It was definitely one of my favorites for Halloween!

No Tricks, Just Treats

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Today I have the last Halloween card to share that we made last Saturday.
This one was quite easy and uses 2 brand new sets from the Stampin Up 2019 Holiday Mini Catalog called Everything Festive and Wonderfully Wicked...

I really liked this card as well as the one from yesterday!
I did most of the work ahead of time for the ladies so they did not get overwhelmed.
The orange panel under the sentiment I had already embossed with the Woodland EF ahead of time.
All they had to do was the stamping and then assemble their cards.
It worked out really well.

Card Details:

Stamps: Everything Festive, Wonderfully Wicked (inside)
Ink: Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Only Orange (retired), Basic Black, Whisper White, Love Nicole DSP from AC Moore
Accessories: Woodland EF, Circle Layering Framelits, Rhinestones, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

The cardbase for this one uses Only Orange cardstock.
Anyone remember that color??
I only had a few sheets left of it so I decided to use it up.
I am down to just scraps now which is a good thing!

That's all for today!

Jar of Haunts

Good Morning & Happy Friday!

Going to be a nice weekend here in south central PA!
Anyone have any fun plans?

Saturday Night is the Pumpkin Walk at the Rail Trail.
We went to it a few years ago and talked about going this year.
It's such a fun event and we enjoyed seeing all the decorated pumpkins on the 1/2 mile walk!

Today I am sharing card #4 from my World Cardmaking Day event with the ladies.

This is a really fun stamp set that I purchased off Facebook about 2 years ago.
I already had the Everyday Jar Framelits so it made sense to get the Halloween set.
The ladies got this card put together rather quickly except for having issues with the Basic Black Archival ink smearing when we ran the jar die thru the Big Shot. We then switched over to using Memento Black which dried quicker. Live & learn, right?

Card Details:

Stamps: Jar of Haunts (retired)
Ink: Basic Black Archival, Memento Black
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper (retired), Halloween Night DSP (retired)
Accessories: Everyday Jar Framelits, Halloween Night Baker's Twine (retired), Mini Dimensionals, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I love this card...probably my favorite!
The inside says, "have some spooky fun"!
