Merriest Trees Birthday Gift

Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

I have a crazy busy day ahead starting with a haircut appointment then home for a shower and get ready for my Stamp Day w/ Friends get together at 12:30. At some point we have to go pick up Shady since Kelsey is working a VERY long day at the restaurant. I hate for him to be home by himself for that long amount of time. Atleast here he can run the yard and have someone home with him. We decided on Thai takeout for dinner tonight and by then I will be ready to relax and watch tonight's new Christmas movie on Hallmark. I have been slacking on watching them the last few weekends.

The project I am sharing with you today was a birthday gift I got for my friend, Cindy!

She has been spoiling me the last 2 years with a bunch of Rae Dunn Halloween things which I just loved. Her birthday is right before Halloween and I thought about picking up a bunch of cute stuff at my local Home Goods and sending her a birthday box to surprise her. This is what I got for her...

I collected all things trees since I did not see much Halloween and I wasn't sure what she already had. I found the oven mitts and looked for anything with trees on to match the theme. I found the kitchen towels then the ceramic Christmas tree mug. At the checkout line I found the little ceramic Christmas tree ornament and surprise...the color fit right in! Once I collected all those tree items I wanted to make a card to send with it. I pulled out the Merriest Trees bundle to create my card along with some A Walk in the Forest DSP. I wrote her a note saying that this was probably the oddest birthday gift she ever got but I hope that it was a good one! She replied....She LOVED it! If you did not know by now, I am that girl that loves all things matchy match and color coordinated!

I also picked up a few extra goodies this year that I want to fancy up with stamps, ink & paper and mail out to special people this year! That gives me so much joy!

So after today i'm sure life is going to get even crazier with working on Christmas treats, cards and gifts! Thankfully, I already have my Stamp Day w/ Friends cards & kits ready to go for our Christmas get together that will be in December.

Phew, i'm tired thinking about it!

Around here we have been really struggling with the time change.

I know it affects the dogs but this year it really affected Shawn & I both. I wish they'd just sign off on this time change thing!! Are you struggling, too?

Sweet Gingerbread #3 & Ceramic Christmas Trees

Hello & Happy Thursday!

I hope your having a good week!

Today I have card #3 of the Sweet Gingerbread Card Kit to share with you!

I bought the card kit from Marisa at Kitchen Table Stamper and have enjoyed putting it together. I originally bought it for Kelsey & I to put together but I got anxious and went ahead and did it. She didn't care since it has been years & years since she last stamped with me.

I love the texture that the Whimsical Woodland 3D EF brings to these cards!

And the Sweetest Christmas DSP is the perfect choice to use with the gingerbread house.

Lots of diecutting but so worth it in the end!

I promised that I would share the pictures of my ceramic Christmas trees that I started to put out downstairs before Halloween. It's quite the chore but atleast now the downstairs is done.

This table took the place of my tanning bed that once sat here. So glad Shawn got rid of it!

I adore this table and can fancy it up for any occasion! Above the table is my shelf that has my Rae Dunn Frosty stuff on! Still in shock that we found any of it because the Frosty line is hard to find stuff. I also dug out my little 3 ft artificial tree this year and put her up on a wooden crate and decorated her. She shines beautifully now!

On the Ravens side of the room is the fireplace and alot of my ceramic trees. I love sitting down here with a fire going in the fireplace watching a movie and having all of these trees lit up! It's a magical place come the holidays!

This shelf is wedged into a werid section of the basement below a small window.

I let this shelf up all year long because it is not easy to get out of this area. I also let these trees, houses, churches, and igloo's up all year long! I love sitting and looking at them!

My friends that come stamp with me are use to seeing this display out all year. Once the holidays come all I have to do is plug in the surge strip and enjoy!

This corner shelf I have had for years! I honestly think I got it years ago from S&H Green Stamps if you remember them. I let my little trees on here all year long as well. The Carolers at the top get put away and a lamp sits there during the year. The purple tree is a Holland Mold and my absolute favorite. This tree was a mish mash of colors and paints when I first got it. I decided to clean it, spray painted it with primer then spray painted it with a Purple gloss for the Ravens room. It turned out perfect!

The tree on my coffee table is not one that is electric but rather there are tapered candles that fit in each layer where the red bows are. I don't put them on the tree because they fall off as soon as the table gets bumped. This is a Marcia Ceramics Mold. We have not been able to find much info on this tree but I remember the day we purchased it from an older gentlemen at an antique store in Lancaster, PA. We told him it would be well loved in our collection!

This last picture is still a work in progress as I am still playing around with my little coffee/cocoa bar. The ceramic trees that sit on my dry sink stay out all year long as well. The ones on top of my "Shot Glass Cabinet" are all small trees with no lights or electric that I like to use in area's to fill in an open spot in the forest or where there are no outlets. Those small trees were found over the years at antique stores. On the dry sink are 2 small Holland trees that are my favorites! I think I own about 20 of them between downstairs & upstairs. The big tree in the middle is an Arnels Mold. I love this one and also own a white Mother of Pearl one that has Gold Tips and a music box. Absolutely beautiful trees!

That is all of my ceramic Christmas trees that I put out downstairs.

The week after Thanksgiving I will have more pictures to share of the ceramic Christmas trees that I put upstairs. I'm already pooped thinking about that chore! LOL

They are beautiful once done and all lit up!

They bring so much joy!

Halloween Table-Food Display

Hello & Happy Monday!

I hope you all had a nice weekend!

Saturday was so much fun and I loved having the girls over to stamp & catch up!

I had 2 calls yesterday from both my old neighbors and they both said how much fun they had and thanked me several times. That right there is why I do this! It's all about friendship and doing what we enjoy!

Today's post is going to be a rather long one because I am sharing some pictures of my World Cardmaking Day event. These will be of my food-table set up.

Now, I have to say that I forgot to take pictures of it when the food was actually out so these are afterwards.

This picture is the one wall in my downstairs that I usually just have a wreath on and I decided to decorate it for Halloween. My tanning bed usually sits here where the table is but my hubby moved it to the storage room for now. I picked up a mesh spider web at Hobby Lobby and used push pins to hang it on the wall. Next I put a string of purple lights throughout the web. Then I had to decide how to decorate the space.

This was my candy treat display.

The balloon actually glowed in the dark.

I found a pack of 5 of them at Walmart that comes with some sort of light inside them.

Sad part is, you cannot use hellum inside to blow them up so they did not float in the air.

I took all 5 balloons and randomly placed them around the room and when the lights were off they lit up! They were so stinkin cute and last about 24 hours.

You all know I have many Ceramic Christmas Trees.

I got an all white one out of storage and put orange bulbs in it.

Not really the look I wanted but it served the purpose.

All my Halloween Ceramic Trees are upstairs in the living room where we can admire them 24/7.

The Spider Web stand I picked up at AC Moore and I sat my Fall colored cupcakes on there that I picked up at a local orchard/bakery. They did not have any Halloween ones yet.

The Spider Web table runner I also picked up at Hobby Lobby. I was originally going to place that on my stamp table but it was much to wide and did not give us much space to stamp.

Those balloons just made me smile!!

One day I was searching Pinterest looking for idea's for my Halloween/ World Cardmaking Day event. I came across a wreath fancied up for Halloween so I watched a tutorial by Angie Juda and made my own after picking up the foam wreath at Hobby Lobby.

The foam wreath was quite expensive there but if your looking to make one of these may I suggest you check out your local Dollar Tree. I found a bunch in the same size for $1.00 a piece!

Live & learn, right?

One Sunday afternoon we were downstairs watching football and our team was losing.

I popped over to my stamp table and started making rosettes to put on my wreath out of the same DSP I wrapped around my foam wreath. I had to learn how to make them again since it's been several years since I did so. I also have a Sizzix Rosette Die that I forgot I even had, so I did break that out and used after watching several tutorials on how to make them.

Then I had 2 picture frames that I picked up at Walmart to put pictures in.

I never got around to putting pictures in so I thought about decorating them for Halloween by using scraps of DSP and some extra diecuts that were in my stash. I placed a glue dot on the corner of each frame and put a Halloween bow on them but I noticed the bottom one was a Crushed Curry bow that must have fallen off. sigh...

It was fun and I tried my best to have a Halloween Spooktacular feel to my event.

I hope I accomplished that!

I had every Halloween decoration throughout the house lit even outside!

I made a fresh Nacho Dip and had a Veggie Tray that consisted of fresh cauliflower, carrots & yellow bell peppers that I sliced up. I was going with a candy corn theme by using those colors. I made a veggie dip that everyone loved!

All in all I think it turned out quite nice and I know the ladies all had a fun time!

They left with smiles and a bag full of goodies!

And that right there is another reason I do what I do!!!

Now I need to get my shower and get the day started! LOL

I slept late this morning since it's rainy & dreary out.

Been in my pj's since yesterday afternoon and it's time to get some real clothes on and get moving!
