Daffodil Birthday

 Hello & Happy Fri-YAY!

It's been a hot week here in PA!
Thankfully, Shawn got our air conditioner put in which helped on some of those afternoons that heated up really fast. Miss Bailee did good but she did prefer to hang out down in the family room since it was much cooler there! I have been working most of the week to go thru my stamps, papers & embellishments and purge things. I have 9 boxes filled to the tops that I am getting ready to try and sell. 25 years worth of stuff that I simply just do not use anymore and I am hoping it goes to someone who will give it lots of love!

My card that I am sharing today is in one of the bins that I keep my extra cards in. This one uses the much loved Daffodil Afternoon DSP that has been long retired. Audrey has always asked for daffodils every spring so there in nothing left of this paper pack other than a few scraps. I am pleased though to have used up a package of DSP because that hardly ever happens! LOL

Card Details:

Stamps: You're Inspiring (retired 2018)
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Mossy Meadow, Daffodil Afternoon DSP (retired)
Accessories: More Messages Dies (retired 2025 Online Exclusives), Distressed Tiles 3D EF (retired), Brushed Brass Butterflies (retired), Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Right now I am working my way thru some of my spring related papers to use them up. There was one pack that has been retired for many years (atleast 10 yrs) that I purchased 2 packs of back when it was available and then a friend came along last year and gifted me with another pack of it. I do believe that the pack she gifted me with will go into that one box to be purged. It's just way too much for me to ever use. More on that subject later!

Today I am working on cards for Audrey. It's a small order and shouldn't take too long!

Acetate Boxes for Easter Treats

 Good Morning & Happy Friday!

It's a cold, windy morning here after a day of rain yesterday!
It was the perfect day to nap which I did not do.
I got my downstairs ready for my Stamp Day w Friends get together for Saturday.
Today I am working on laundry and hoping to grab a short nap since I did not sleep good last night.
I'm already on my 2nd cup of coffee and i'm thinking I may need more!

Have you seen the 3 1/8  Acetate Card Boxes in the Stampin Up! Annual Catalog?
They are on page 152 and sell 10 boxes for $6.00.
I have not used these for the small cards but I have used them quite a few times in the last year for treat boxes. Easter is no different as I made 18 of these for my customers treat order.
I simply colored up some of those adorable lambs from the Springtime Joy stamp set and used up some retired gingham papers!

My boxes are filled with 4 Bite Sized Kit Kats.
The outside is decorated with a Scalloped Square in different cardstock colors then I diecut a Square using the same set of Framelits in the matching Gingham DSP colors.
Next I diecut another layer of cardstock with the Tasteful Labels Dies and I ran those panels thru the Big Shot with my very loved Tasteful Textile 3D EF for added texture.
The next layer is the Scalloped Circle and then the Whisper White layer that has the lamb stamped on.
I colored those images with Stampin Blends.
I stamped my sentiment in coordinating colored ink on Whisper White and punched it out with the Classic Label Punch and attached it with Mini Dimensionals.
Lastly, I added a matching bow with a glue dot and some big rhinestones.

Project Details:

Stamps: Springtime Joy, You're Inspiring (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin Blends, Highland Heather, Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight
Cardstock: Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather, Granny Apple Green, Whisper White, Various Gingham DSP (retired)
Accessories: Square Layering Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Tasteful Labels Dies, Tasteful Textile 3D EF, Classic Label Punch, Various Ribbon (retired), Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Adhesive Foam Sheets, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

These were so much fun to make and my card lady just loved them!
If your looking for a quick treat, these boxes are perfect for that!
I really like the size of them and it doesn't take a whole lot of candy to fill them!
My card lady wanted these to lay on each person's table setting for their Easter dinner and I bet she will get lots of big smiles from her family!

Daffodil Note Cards

Hello & Happy Thursday from a very rainy, dreary Pennsylvania!

I won't complain as we could really use the rain!
I got my big card order all finished and delivered yesterday to my card lady and she was grateful for all the cards & treats! She loved it all! Only thing that she was upset about is that she forgot to order birthday cards! I told her to let me know what she needed and I would get them to her next week! I always have extra's on my card rack that I can take to her so it's not a problem!

One of the packs of cards she specifically asked for was some note cards.
She uses these for any occasion that might pop up that she does not have a card for.
And she wanted daffodils on them! Since Stampin Up! has nothing current with daffodils I pulled out my retired You're Inspiring stamp set and colored up all those pretty flowers. My hands were not happy but we got it done!

Lots of layers on these but they were fun to create except for all that coloring!
I started with a Bumble Bee cardbase then another layer of Bumble Bee cardstock that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Tasteful Textile 3D EF. I know your probably thinking....is that the only embossing folder you own! LOL It is my absolute favorite as it adds nice texture to my cards with out it standing out too much or bulking up my cards.
Next I added a layer of Ornate Gardens DSP and then a piece of Basic White cardstock that I ran thru the Big Shot with the Ornate Layers Dies. I love how these diecuts stand out and all the intricate shapes.
Next I stamped my daffodil images on Basic White cardstock with Memento Black in and colored with Stampin Blends. I diecut them out with the Oval Layering Framelits and layered them onto a Bumble Bee Scalloped Oval Framelit that I popped up with Dimensionals.
Lastly, I added my Bumble Bee Gingham Ribbon bow with glue dots and finished them up!

In case you noticed, I finally used the last package of Whisper White cardstock on my cards yesterday and moved on to the Basic White cardstock. I honestly could not tell a difference between the 2. Both diecut nicely and both do very well with coloring with the Stampin Blends.

Card Details:

Stamps: You're Inspiring
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Bumble Bee, Basic White, Ornate Gardens DSP
Accessories: Ornate Layers Dies, Tasteful Textile 3D EF, Oval Layering Framelits, Bumble Bee Gingham Ribbon, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This set took while to complete with all the stuff I had to run thru the Big Shot but they turned out pretty nice! Very pleased with them!

I won't be playing in the puddles today but I will be catching my breathe after a few weeks of working on Easter treats and a big card order!
How do you spend a rainy day?

Thanks for stopping by & have an amazing day!

Daffodil Cards

 Hello & Happy Monday!

Happy March 1st!!!

I hope you all had a nice weekend!
It was a quiet one here with rain most of the time.
The snow is melting slowly and we are seeing more & more green grass popping thru everyday!
Spring is coming!

This past weekend I worked on my Easter Treats that my card lady and her friend ordered.
We also finished watching a series on Netflicks called The Witcher.
This series is definitely not for kids as the language, nudity & gore were thru the roof!
It reminded me of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy if you've ever seen them but add in all 3 things I said above.
There is suppose to be a 2nd season of it but so far nothing has come out.

Today I have 1 last pack of cards to share that I made for my card lady's last order.
She wanted a set of Daffodil cards with no sentiment on.
You would think since she requests these kind of cards quite often that they would come easy to me but I still struggle with them. This is what I made for her...

The daffodil images are from the retired You're Inspiring stamp set.
I love this set and will never part with it!
I stamped my images on the Whisper White cardstock using my Stamparatus.
The Whisper White cardstock was already diecut using the Nature's Thought's Dies.
I stamped it with Memento Black and colored with my Daffodil Delight & Granny Apple Green Stampin Blends.
My cardbase is Daffodil Delight with a Whisper White Layer then a 2 x 5 inch piece of retired Gingham Gala DSP. I still have half a package of that DSP left that I am trying to use up.
Then I added my daffodil image to the card with Dimensionals and a few rhinestones to finish them up!

Card Details:

Stamps: You're Inspiring (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Daffodil Delight & Granny Apple Green Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Gingham Gala DSP (retired)
Accessories: Nature's Thoughts Dies, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

My card lady loved them as she always tells me when she looks thru them!
I have been making cards for her for about 8 years now and she has only ever said once that there was something she did not care for.
In that amount of time I have learned what she likes and most times she requests some sort of flowers!
Thankfully I have many flower stamp sets!

More Timeless Tulips

Hello & Happy Friday!

Another rainy morning here in PA but the sun is suppose to come out this afternoon.
I decided yesterday to spend the afternoon at my stamp table and for some reason I struggled trying to create some Easter cards. This coming week is going to be busy so I wanted to try to work ahead on getting some cards made for my card lady. Easter is right around the corner and I need to get cards made soon.

Today I have a set of Easter cards to share that I made into a set just in case my card lady calls and asks for them. Again I used the Timeless Tulips set and some retired Grapefruit Grove Gingham Gala DSP from last year.

I love these tulips and the color of them!
So pretty!

Card Details:

Stamps: Timeless Tulips, You're Inspiring (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Grapefruit Grove, Granny Apple Green
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Whisper White, Gingham Gala DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stitched So Sweetly Dies, Classic Label Punch, Tulip Builder Punch, Grapefruit Grove Grosgrain Ribbon, Rhinestones, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

One pack of Easter ready for my customer!
Today I will work on more...

You're Inspiring

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Today is suppose to be a really nice day here!
Hope your enjoying the weekend!

Today I have a set of Easter cards made for my customer.
This year she asked for 4 packs.

This set uses the You're Inspiring set.

The daffodils are colored with Daffodil Delight & Granny Apple Green Stampin Blends then I used some Wink of Stella over them for some sparkle.
My tag comes from the Popcorn Box Thinlit Dies that retired last year.

Card Details:

Stamps: You're Inspiring
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Gingham DSP
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Basket Weave EF, Tag from Popcorn Box Thinlit Dies (retired), Daffodil Delight 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon (retired), Whisper White Baker's Twine, Wink of Stella, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I think these are my absolute favorites but all that coloring made my hand ache.
I made these over 2 days so I did not overdo it.
Perfect for Easter, don't ya think?

Happy Easter

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope your having a great week so far!

I have not received any orders yet for Easter cards but i'm sure I will soon as Easter is in a few weeks. I looked thru my Easter box of stamps and got to work on making this set.
This set uses a current set called You're Inspiring.

Coloring those beautiful daffodils was a bit tricky for me as my hands don't handle coloring anymore but I am happy with the outcome of them!
My Whisper White layer was run thru the Big Shot with the Subtle Embossing Folder.
I just love the textured look that embossing folder gives!
The daffodil panel were diecut using the Stitched Rectangle Framelits and layered over top of an Old Olive doily which I cut in half.
The sentiment was diecut with the Oval Layering Framelits and popped up with Mini Dimensionals. Lastly, I added a few rhinestones for sparkle!

Card Details:

Stamps: You're Inspiring
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Gingham Gala DSP
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Colored Doilies, Rhinestones, Mini Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I enjoyed making these!
Daffodils always make me smile!

Easter Hello Wood Crates

Hello & Happy Sunday!

It's looking like a beautiful day here in south central PA!
I am hoping to go to the Rail Trail this afternoon for a walk and take advantage of the sunshine and 50's!

I want to share another Easter Treat today!
These are probably my favorites!

My customers loved the Wood Crates done up at Christmas time so I wanted to make them again but with the colors of spring. I found the Easter Grass at Michael's  and loved the pops of color it brought to the each crate. My tag on the cello bags was cut using a die in the Popcorn Box Thinlits.

Project Details:

Stamps: Easter Hello, You're Inspiring (sentiment)
Ink: Blushing Bride, Crumb Cake, Pool Party
Cardstock: Blushing Bride, Pool Party, Whisper White
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Popcorn Box Thinlits, Wood Crates Framelits, Cello Bags, Blushing Bride & Pool Party Twine, Rhinestones, Handheld Hole Punch, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I filled each cello bag with a bite sized Snickers, Twix, 3 Muskateer, Milky Way bars plus a Reese's PB Egg. Lots of chocolate yumminess!

My thoughts today....

Technically Tuesday is the first day of Spring but we may be getting another snow storm. It's still up in the air whether it will be rain or snow.
I'm hoping for rain so that our spring bulbs will start blooming!

That is all for now!
Thanks for stopping by & enjoy your day!

Tranquil Tulips

Hello & Happy Monday!

It's still dreary and cloudy here this morning.
Hopefully soon the sun will shine again!

Today I have a set of cards to share that I made up for Easter.
I really needed something bright & pretty after all this rain and this is what I created.

I'm so ready for spring even though they say winter is going to come back in the next week or so.
I really hope not! Nothing says "spring" like a pretty pack of tulip cards, right?

Card Set Details:

Stamps: Tranquil Tulips, You're Inspiring (sentiment)
Ink: Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Whisper White, Delightful Daisy DSP
Accessories: Old Olive Ribbon, Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

On the bright side....I did see that we return to Daylight Savings Time on March 11, 2018!
I'm looking forward to longer days of sunlight...if the sun ever returns!
