Botanical Blooms HB

Hello & Happy Friday!

It's the start to the Memorial Day weekend!!
They are calling for hot & humid weather thru the weekend with a chance of storms. I suppose my AC will be getting a good bit of use the next few days!

Yesterday I had a chance to sit and play with a stamp set that my friend let me borrow. I recently purchased the Botanical Garden DSP to use with it. I made a few cards which I will share in the coming days.

This one is my favorite!

I love the tropical flowers and pretty colors in the paper too!
Definitely gives a summertime feel, doesn't it?

I've seen Patty Bennett make this type of card with a 4x4 piece of designer series paper and cut it on an angle to allow space in between on the card for your sentiment! Such a brilliant idea!
I used a sentiment from the Rose Wonder stamp set which fit perfectly inside the space. I diecut a beautiful tropical flower in Cajun Craze and placed it beside my sentiment. Easy peasy!!

Botanical Blooms Happy Birthday Card:

Stamps: Rose Wonder (sentiment)
Ink: Mossy Meadow
Cardstock: Hello Honey, Cajun Craze
Accessories: Botanical Builder Framelit, White Pearl, Tombow Liquid Glue

Love it and hope you do too!

That is all I have for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

I made up a few masculine cards for an order recently using retired designer series paper called Adventure Bound. I only had a few scraps left in certain prints but that was all I needed to make my cards.

This paper was perfect for creating masculine cards! I love all the prints and was sad when my paper pad was just about empty. I did a search on Ebay and found another pack! WooHoo!

Masculine Cards:

Stamps: sentiment from Guy Greetings
Ink: Early Espresso, Island Indigo
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Island Indigo, Smoky Slate, Adventure Bound DSP Paper Pad (retired)
Accessories: Hexagon Punch (to make flag ends), Gold & Silver Metallic Buttons, Early Espresso & Island Indigo Baker's Twine, Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

That's all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Jelly Jar Box

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's!

They are calling for sunshine here today....finally!
I hope to get out and take a nice walk today. Our last walk was so nice with the smells of honeysuckle opening along the walking path. Wish we could bottle that sweet smelling fragrance!

Today I am sharing a nice little box that I found on a Facebook Stamping Page. This lady wanted to make a box to fit a small jelly jar and this is exactly what i've been looking for! A few months ago I thought i'd try the Baker's Box Thinlits for my jelly jars but as it turned out, the box was much too little for my jars.

Here is the link to her tutorial if anyone is interested in making these.

I made Black Raspberry Jelly a few months ago and have been searching for a box to fit these jars in. This box is perfect!!!

I used Blackberry Bliss cardstock for my box since it is the same color as my Black Raspberries. My dsp is from the Farmer's Market Pack and will be retiring soon. I have purchased 2 packs of this so I am good for awhile!
I printed out my Black Raspberry Jelly label out on the computer on Very Vanilla cardstock. Punched it out with the Lg Oval Punch and layered that on top of a Scalloped Oval Blackberry Bliss Punch. I added 2 Dimensionals and attached it to my box. This box is like a milk carton but the right size for a small jelly jar.
The Made for You With Love is from the stamp set Homemade For You. I also added this to my jelly jar topper. I took off the ring on the jelly jar and added a piece of  Farmer's Market DSP that I punched with my 2 1/2 in Circle Punch. Fit perfectly! I put my ring back on the jar and added my embellishments. I slipped my jelly jar inside the box and closed it up with a piece of Very Vanilla Satin Ribbon that was in my stash. I was very happy with this box and will definitely be making more!

Thank You, Jeanette Cobb, for sharing your Jelly Jar Box!

Colorful Butterfly Notecards

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Recently my customer asked for a pack of cards that had no saying on but wanted something colorful. We've been under this bubble of gloom & gray skies lately with all the rain so she wanted bright & colorful. This is what I came up with...

I found this paper in a pack called Garden Gingham that is retired but worked perfectly for what I needed. Sometimes those packs of old paper are a good thing to still have around!
My customer loves the butterfly dies so i'm pretty sure she loved this pack of cards! She uses them for different occasions when she is out of a specific type of card.

Colorful Butterfly Notecards:

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Garden Gingham DSP
Accessories: Bold Butterfly Framelits, Circle Punch, White Pearls, Tombow Liquid Glue

These cards will definitely brighten someones day!

A Simple Happy Birthday

Hello & Happy TGIF!

It's still very gloomy & rainy in this part of the country. It's been about 12 days straight of rain, not constant but mostly showers & misty. We had 2 afternoons that we had some sun but it was short lived with more rain & thunderstorms. Today heavy rain is in the forecast. The gloom & doom is very depressing and I hope sunshine is soon to follow! In the meantime I have another card to share today. It's one I had in my favorite's for quite awhile that I cased from the incredible Chiaki Haverstick! I love her simple designs that pack a punch!

I did however change up the flower center with a rhinestone instead of using a button like she did and also my sentiment panel is different. The colors and pretty paper is what caught my eye on her card. Thank you, Chiaki, for your inspiration!

Happy Birthday Card:

Stamps: Rose Wonder sentiment
Ink: Island Indigo
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Island Indigo, All Bloom DSP (retired)
Accessories: Fun Flower Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, Hexagon Punch (for banner end), Tombow Liquid Glue

That is all for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Update on my hubby:

Went yesterday to the doctor and had the stitches taken out. Both incisions look great and have healed up nicely! Now to get walking! He'll return to see the doctor in 2 weeks then it will be decided if he's ready to return to work. In the meantime, he got another kidney stone!! Yes, he is what they call a "stone former". He's had many in the almost 26 years we've been married. I'm praying he soon passes it!!

That's all I have for today!

Petal Potpourri

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Just a quick card today then Shawn is headed to the doctors to get his stitches removed! He's excited to get them out and start walking a bit more. I hope soon we can get back to our long walks with the doggies but only if our weather gets better!

Anyways, today I am sharing a card that I cased from Kriss Huels. I found her card on Pinterest and it just sang to me! I recently got the Petal Potpourri set & matching Flower Medallion Punch from a lady on Facebook that was selling it. This set is from the 2015 SU Occasions Catalog. I missed out on it last year but I am so happy that I finally have it in my collection!

Petal Potpourri Cased Card:

Stamps: Petal Potpourri, Simply Sketched (sentiment)
Ink: Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Coastal Cabana
Cardstock: Crisp Cantaloupe, Coastal Cabana, Whisper White, Best Year Ever DSP
