Sketch Challenge 542

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Today I am off to another Pain Management appointment for another injection so I will be sidelined for the rest of today.
I made a card for yesterday's Sketch Challenge 542 from over at SCS so i'll share that today and possibly be back to stamping again on Friday!

I had just enough pieces of scraps left to use for the sketch. I really liked the sketch! I used a sentiment from the Painted Blooms set and cut that out with Circle & Lacey Circle Nestibilities. I added a scrap piece of Wild Wasabi Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon thru the Lacey Circle edge and tied that on with some Baker's White Twine.. I added some rhinestones & popped up the sentiment and finished off my card. Hope you like!

Well, that's all I have for today!
I've been working on some treats for the upcoming July 4th Holiday! I'll be sharing them soon!

Merry Monday Challenge #160

Hello & Happy Monday!

Happy Memorial Day to all my US friends & family!
Since we are having a 3 day weekend I totally forgot that it was Monday and time to get the blog updated for Merry Monday
My apologies for being a bit late this morning......

Karren has a terrific challenge for us this week so I hope you'll all play along!

As soon as I seen the challenge to use newspaper I knew what I was going to make!

I purchased this paper from Amuse a few years ago. The writing on it is from Twas the Night Before Christmas story. I never even opened it until Karren's challenge. The red striped paper is also from Amuse called Candy Cane Stripe. I thought the 2 papers went beautifully together! I used an older Stampin Up set with this called Welcome Christmas. It reminds me of days gone by when we were little kids and again I thought it went beautifully with the Amuse papers! I finished my card up with adding some red stitched grosgrain ribbon and a red rhinestone and placed everything onto a Real Red cardbase. Hope you like my creation made with newsprint! I thought Karren's challenge was a fun one! Stop by the Merry Monday blog to see what the other ladies created this week! They really made some neat cards for inspiration!!

Thanks for popping in & have a great day!

Happy Memorial Day!

Had a chance this afternoon to go play in my stamp room.
I got yet another card order for a pack of cupcake cards and as I was leafing thru the Stampin Up Catty I found on page 58 the Cupcake Party stamp set that I recently purchased. I loved the sample card so I decided to case it.

The colors and the tilted panel are what grabbed my eye to this card. I loved stamping each color of cupcakes too!

Merry Monday Challenge #159

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

I'm back this week at Merry Monday!
Last week I took the week off since things were so hectic around here with the daughter moving in.

So, this week Debbie is our hostess and she has a new challenge for us! Hope you'll play along!

I wasn't quite sure what to do for this challenge but as I went searching thru all my stamps I found this retired set from years ago called Trees Three. Thankfully, it had a Christmas sentiment in it which made it all the more perfect for Debbie's challenge. I don't have much in non evergreen trees so i'm pleased that I found this set.

Merry Monday Challenge #159 Card:

Stamps: Trees Three
Ink: Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Lost Lagoon
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Lost Lagoon, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Moonlight DSP

My Little Helpers + A Card for my Hubby

Hello & Happy Friday!

Thank God it's Friday!
My hubby & I are going out to supper tonight and then do some grocery shopping afterwards.
Last Saturday was his birthday and I never got around to making him a card...sad, I know! I was so busy with working on Audrey's card order and then with Kirsten & her gang moving in that there just was not enough hours in the day. Tonight I am going to treat him to supper and get him his fishing license so he cam possibly go fishing this weekend. He loves to fish and finds it very relaxing!
So today I thought i'd better pop in my stamp room and get a card made for him....better late than never, right??!!

I've seen this card idea all over the internet and went with it since Shawn & I were both raised in a little town right on the Susquehanna River and the stones/pebbles are along it. I thought too it'd go good with his fishing license too! :)

I really love this pack of paper that SU has out right now. So manly and alot of awesome outdoors scenes on it!  The paper is called Adventure Bound.

So, as I was crafting this afternoon, I was visited by 2 little helpers, Rosco & Bailee.

This is Rosco. He is a Jack Russell but we think he is mixed with Corgi too. He's quite the beefer!

Bailee & Rosco......they are waiting on a carrot to munch on.
Bailee still isn't too sure of the 2 Russells being here but I think she is slowly getting use to it. Brad came home early so that is why Rosco is upstairs with me. Normally i'd make them stay crated until their Mom came home. I'm not at all fond of the dog hair everywhere. My dogs do not shed but the 2 Jack Russells do, badly! Yuk!

The dogs love sitting on Kelsey's bed while I craft and it keeps me company!

Shawn's Birthday Card:

Stamps: Crazy About You (Occasions Mini)
Ink: Basic Gray
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Smoky Slate, Whisper White, Adventure Bound DSP Pack
Accessories: Basic Gray Baker's Twine, Dimensionals, Tombow Mono Adhesive

Well, that's all I have for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Color Challenge 530

Hello & Happy Thursday!

So sorry for the lack of updates this last week. Kirsten, Brad & the 2 Jack Russells (Shady & Rosco) moved in last Thursday and it's be quite an adjustment for us all. Even though she is our daughter, it's still taking some getting use to living with 2 more people under one roof. Things are getting better though and we made it thru the first week...5 more to go!

I sat down this afternoon and did some crafting. After a few days absence I always have a hard time getting back into the swing of stamping again. I had a few challenges I wanted to play along with.
Today is Tuesday's Color Challenge from over at SCS.

Here are the colors:

Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding & Strawberry Slush

I already had the Strawberry Slush butterfly cut out so I went with that color & Pistachio Pudding for my 2 colors. I really think I need to try another color combo from that group of colors. That is probably one of the prettiest set of In Colors ever! I know i'm surely going to miss them!

Color Challenge 530 Card:

Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Pink Pirouette, Smoky Slate, Memento Black
Cardstock: Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White
Accessories: Butterfly Thinlits Dies, White Pearls, Tombow Liquid Multi Purpose Glue

Color Challenge 529

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Today the ladies from the Color Challenge over at SCS have a beautiful group of colors for us this week! So fresh & springy!

The colors are:
Crushed Curry, Tangerine Tango & Melon Mambo

These colors almost sound like some ballroom dances! Can ya tell I watch Dancin With the Stars!! LOL

I'm in the midst of working on a card order for one of my best customers. She asked for a package of Thinking of You cards so this card will be part of her pack! These colors are so pretty together! The dessert option was to use "green" today along with our 3 colors. That's an easy task when you use flowers!

Color Challenge 529 Card:

Stamps: Summer Silhouettes, Sassy Salutations
Ink: Memento Black, Tangerine Tango, Pear Pizzazz, Melon Mambo & Crushed Curry
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Whisper White
Accessories: Stamp A Ma Jig, Rhinestones, Crushed Curry 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dot, Corner Rounder, Tombow Liquid Multi Purpose Glue

Well, that's all for today!
Going to work on a few more cards this afternoon and keeping my eye to the sky. Calling for some thunderstorms to blow thru. It's been upper 70's to mid 80's the last 2 days. I think we went from winter to summer.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day, everyone!

Merry Monday Challenge #157

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! The weather here has been absolutely gorgeous and it looks to stay this way for most of the upcoming week!
Friday morning I went and had my procedure done for the sciatic pain. All went well and I came home and slept most of the day away! Saturday I woke up with a bit less pain. I am keeping ice packs on my back and have been taking it easy since. Still keeping my fingers crossed for that pain to completely disappear soon but I will be having another injection in a few weeks for the arthritis in my Facet Joints. I hope to feel like a million bucks after that! :)

So, this week we have a new challenge for you from over at Merry Monday. Bonnie is our hostess this week so let's get to it!

My card was made in quite a rush yesterday! My oldest daughter will be moving into the basement this coming week. They will be here for 6 weeks while they wait for settlement on their new house. She will be coming here with her boyfriend, Brad, and their 2 Jack Russell's (Shady & Rosco). So, while they work during the week, the 2 doggies will be crated downstairs and that is where my stamp room is. Yesterday, my dear sweet hubby brought a boat load of my stamp stuff upstairs to Kelsey's room and set up shop for me for the next few weeks until I get the basement back. It's a bit cramped with Kelsey's bed still in there but it's do-able for now. As I was setting up the room, I found this embossed piece of Cool Caribbean cardstock that had been heat embossed with a snowflake stamp from the Peddler's Pack. I added it to a layer of embossed snowflakes and attached that to a Cool Caribbean cardbase. Then I just grabbed a sentiment, cut it out with Circle Nestibilities and sponged it while still in the die. Added a button with white baker's twine and 2 clear rhinestones and called it done.
I was able to snap my picture with natural daylight for a change!! That makes me happy! LOL

Hope you will stop by the Merry Monday blog to see what the other ladies have created this week! Lots of inspiration!
