Memorial Day Treats

Hello & Happy Thursday!
Can you believe it is the last day of May, already!

Today, I am sharing some little treat bags I made up for friends & family for Memorial Day. I was just in a mood to sit down and make these the other day since I had a bag a Snickers on hand and my son in law, Berto loves them! Every time he comes to visit he knows where to find my stash of candy so this bag I had to hide from him! LOL

I love using this older SU single stamp called God Bless America. It came out when 9/11 happened back in 2001 and I try to use it as much as possible.

Memorial Day Treat Bags:

Stamps: God Bless America
Ink: Real Red & Brilliant Blue SU Markers
Cardstock: Neenah White, Real Red, More Mustard
Accessories: Square & Square Scallop Nestibilities, Small Star Punch, Star EF, Small Cello Bags, Stapler, Brilliant Blue 1/4 Grosgrain, Hot Glue, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

It's looking like a beautiful day here in PA! The humidity has left us and taken with it the hot temperatures. I think i'm going to strip my bed sheets, wash and hang them out today! Sunny & 70's is my favorite kind of day! Hope where ever you are you are enjoying some nice weather too!

Thanks for stopping by & have a terrific day!

Merry Monday Challenge Week #22

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope you all had a nice Memorial Day!
We had a pretty decent weekend for a change. Since we were dealing with the loss of losing Fluffy last week, Shawn was also dealing with pain from having 2 more kidney stones. Our house was so somber & sad last week. Thankfully, Thursday evening & Friday morning he passed them. We had talked of taking a trip out to Joplin this past weekend but with his pain we just put it on hold a few more weeks.

So, last week with the loss of Fluffy, I asked Lesley from over at Always Playing With Paper if I could take a week off from participating on the Merry Monday Challenge. My heart just wasn't into doing any stamping. Yesterday, I finally made my way back downstairs and started to do some stamping. My heart & mind were telling me it was time to get back at it. Since I did not do a card along with the other fabulous Merry Makers, I thought i'd try to atleast play along so I could have all 22 cards made!

Below is Lesley's sketch & my samples....

Merry Monday Week #22 Card:

Stamps: Snow Much Fun
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Bravo Burgundy, Brushed Gold, Neenah White, K&Co Christmas Cheer DSP
Accessories: Circle & Lacey Scallop Circle Nestibilities, Glue Pen, Ultrafine Glitter, Gold Beads, SU Square Lattice EF, Ribbon, Hot Glue Gun, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that is all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Saying Goodbye....

Good morning....

It's with a very heavy heart that I write this on a dreary rainy morning here in PA. It seems fitting with our mood.
Yesterday late afternoon we had to put our precious Fluffy to sleep. She had been sick all weekend and nothing was helping her to get better. It's that one day in a dog owners life that you just know it's gonna come and we dread it so much. We are all taking it pretty hard even though we knew it was coming. She lived 14 1/2 wonderful years with us and there isn't a day that i'd ever take back! She will be my one & only pet EVER because I do not ever wanna have to go thru the heartache & numbness that we are muddling thru right now. Saying goodbye was the hardest thing ever! I wanted to put a picture of her on here but just could not, just not yet.
I'm gonna take a break from blogging for a bit. My heart is just not into it right now and I wanna focus on the family and make sure we all get thru this ok. We all loved Fluffy so much & we're gonna miss her like crazy!
RIP my sweet little one.....till we meet again!

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a wonderful day!
My kids have spoiled me for Mother's Day this year! That's such a wonderful feeling! They took me out to supper along with my Mom & Dad so that was nice that we could all celebrate together!
Ryan had a basket of flowers sent to me which was just the cutest! I will get a picture and share on Tuesday. Kirsten & Kelsey pitched in and gave me money to get mulch for my flower beds which will be delivered on Tuesday! I'm excited to finish off my flower beds! :)

One more day till the weekend and it's looking like a nice one here in PA!
I'm gonna try to get out and do some yard work and Saturday after Kelsey is done work we are going to a local place for supper to celebrate Mother's Day. It will be nice to hang out with all the kids. They have been bugging me for the last week as to what i'd like to have for Mother's Day and after many "nothings"...I finally said a load of mulch for my flower beds!

So, I made my way downstairs this afternoon to do alittle stamping. I used yesterdays Sketch Challenge to make my card. Below is the sketch and my sample....

I had the thought of using the motorcycle in my head since I seen the sketch yesterday. I'm pretty happy with it! Later tonight I need to finish up my next Merry Monday card. I've been alittle stumped on that one or maybe it's just my paper choice! Needless to say, I have to get it done!

Happy Birthday Shawn!!

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Today is my wonderful hubby's birthday and I sat yesterday to make him a card. I tried not to make it just any card but something that had meaning. So, I went thru my stamps to look for something and found the buffalo in the In Wilderness set (which unfortunately is retiring) and went with that!

Last year when we lived out in Joplin we found out about a place named Prairie State Park in Mindenmines, Missouri. It has buffalo & elk that roam freely throughout the park. We went there maybe 3 or 4 times and seen nothing. The very last time we visited there we saw SO many buffalo up close & personal and it was just so awesome! I know I have pictures somewhere. It was something to see and i'm glad that we will always have that memory to cherish of our days living there. I think he will love it!

Shawn's Birthday Card:

Stamps: In Wilderness, Amazing to Zany
Ink: Early Espresso
Cardstock: Early Espresso, Cajun Craze, Vanilla, Well Woren DSP
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF, Silver Beads, Early Espresso 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, SU Scallop Edge Border Punch, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that is all for now!
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Another Mother's Day Card

Hello again!

Back again to share with you a card I whipped up today for Mother's Day!
I had posted a card on Saturday that I made for the Our Creative Corner Challenge and I had a friend from high school send me a message asking if i'd be interested in making his mom a card for Mother's Day! Sure, I said! How could I say no!!??

I think it's so pretty & dainty! I hope he likes it!

Well, I know I said on Saturday that i'd be back with my Cinco de Mayo card but I never got back to finishing it. I crawled back in bed Saturday afternoon for a nap.....ended up there till almost supper time! Then it was showertime and off to pick Kelsey up from work. Then we did make it to Edgar & Amy's Cinco de Mayo party but I went empty handed without my card. I am still gonna get it finished up and posted, I promise!
Sunday, we ran around so much, I didn't even see my stamp table! I did however pick up some petunia pots for my front porch and some ornamental grasses & a bleeding heart for my flower bed. Got them all planted even with the clouds & showers. I was just happy to get something accomplished! As soon as we get some decent weather i'll get some pictures and post on here.

Well, that's all for now!
Thanks for stopping by again & enjoy your evening!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

Was up way too early this morning. Hubby ended up being at work from 4am Friday morning and just now walked thru the door 30 hours later! He had to stay because of a high priority line being down and that ment I did not sleep too good last nite.

I popped over to the Our Creative Corner blog to find out what the challenge was for today.
It is a color challenge! The colors are Yellow, Kraft/Crumb Cake and White or Vanilla.
I decided to play along! Just yesterday I mounted "Because I Care" stamp set that I have had for well over a year and went with that. I thought the flower would look great in yellow!

It came together fairly simple & easy!

Our Creative Corner Challenge Card:

Stamps: Because I Care, Inkadinkado Sentiment
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Kraft/Crumb Cake, Neenah White
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF, Oval & Oval Scallop Nestibilties, Daffodil Delight 1/4 Grosgrain Ribbon, Kaiser Yellow Pearls, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that is all for now!
Gonna grab some breakfast & shower!
I'll be back later to share my Cinco de Mayo card that I have started (just need to finish it and get it posted)! We are invited to a Scion Cinco de Mayo party this evening but not quite sure we are gonna make it with Shawn running on lack of sleep so we'll see.
Stay tuned for that later this afternoon!
Until then, have a wonderful Saturday!

Ways To Use It Challenge 373

Good morning, everyone!

Hope your all having a great day so far! Yup, it's Friday....finally!
I'm looking forward to some great weather this weekend but along with that comes alot of stuff around the house to do and that never ends!

So, i'm still working on making some cards to sell. Hope to have my Etsy shop up and running soon. I took advantage of yesterdays Ways To Use It Challenge 373 from over at SCS to get another masculine card made. Alot of people have a tough time making masculine but I love making them! Anyways, the challenge was to distress so I broke out my Tim Holtz Distressing tool and got busy. Here is my card....

I stamped my bird image and my sentiment. Cut them out and then used my distressing tool to scuff them up! Added some Linen Thread and some gold brads and called it done! Did I say how much I am liking this new (to me) Well Woren Designer Series Papers! Makes for some nice masculine cards!

Ways To Use It Challenge 373 Card:

Stamps: Wild Fowl, Sentiment from Delightful Dozen
Ink: Cajun Craze, NQN
Cardstock: NQN, Cajun Craze, Neenah White, Well Woren DSP
Accessories: Circle Nestibilities, Linen Thread, Gold Brads, Tim Holtz Distressing Tool, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day ahead!

Freshly Made Sketches #33

Good morning everyone!

I'm up way early due to thunderstorms going thru! Some of those cracks of thunder are enough to wake the dead! I love a good ole thunderstorm but why is it they have to come durning the middle of the night when your sleeping so peacefully?

So, since i'm up I figured I will just go ahead and get my blog started for the day.
Yesterday, I found a new blog owned by the wonderful & talented Lesley called Freshly Made Sketches. I have been looking for a few new challenges to participate in and most people know that I love sketch challenges! I decided to give it a try! Below is the sketch for this week and my sample.....

I've been trying to get some masculine cards made. I love making them!
Been thinking of starting an Etsy shop to sell some of my cards.
Today's card was made with more of the Well Woren DSP from SU. My image is an old one from SU as well called Noble Deer. Not sure why they ever retired this set but I love it! :)

Freshly Made Sketches #33 Card:

Stamps: Noble Deer, Sentiment from Hero Arts
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, NQN, River Rock, Whisper White, Well Woren DSP
Accessories: Distressed Stripes EF, Chocolate Chip Corduroy Button, Twine, Hot Glue, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that is all for now!
Think i'll try to go crawl back in bed but not sure how much sleep i'm gonna get with it booming outside!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day ahead!

Today is Sketch Challenge day over at SCS and once again I decided to play along! My card rack is in need of some fresh cards so I thought today I would start with some masculine cards.

Color Challenge 373

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope your all having a great day so far!
I was up at 4 am with Shawn before he had to leave for work and I noticed it was storming out. I love a good storm as long as it doesn't turn severe! After he left I got involved in doing some things around the house and then went back to bed where I stayed till Kelsey woke me up at noontime! I must have really needed that to be in bed that long! Lately sleep has been hard to come by with Fluff not sleeping all night. It's almost like having a baby again! LOL The last few nights we've been giving her a Benedryl and she's been falling asleep in her bed in the living room so we've been sneaking off and shutting our door at night and letting her there. I know i'm starting to feel much more rested with letting her sleep in the living room but hate doing that.

So, today I felt the need to go do some stamping! I'm finding myself getting more away from stamping and i'm thinking it's because my eyes are starting to give me some trouble. Shawn keeps telling me to go get my eyes checked. Both parents & brothers wear them so it is probably time to get them checked so I can stop squinting.

I checked the color challenge today over at SCS and decided to give it a shot!
It's been quite awhile since I played along with it. The colors today are:
Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi & Bashful Blue.

I'm in need of some Sympathy cards for on the card rack so I went in the direction of something floral and I really like it!

Color Challenge 373 Card:

Stamps: Love & Sympathy
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wasabi SU Markers, Memento Black
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, Neenah White
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF, Oval & Oval Scallop Nestibilties, Pumpkin Pie 1/4 Grosgrain Ribbon, Recollections White Pearls, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that is all for today!
Thanks so much for stopping by & have a great day!
