Our Creative Corner Challenge

Hello & Happy Saturday, friends!

Today was a fun day!!
My friend, Vicki Burdick came to hang out and we stamped, laughed and had a good ole time!!

After she left I got to work on my Our Creative Corner Challenge. Sarah was our hostess this week and she challenged us to use Red & Aqua on our projects. Right away a light
bulb went off and my mind went to Christmas colors. I went thru my image box for something to use and came across this stamped snowman from an old SU set that I stamped images off from my BFF back home, Deb. The set is called Thanks Snow Much. I paired it up with one of the sentiments that came with the set and i'm thrilled with the outcome!!!

I really think I need to make a few more like this for the holidays!
What do you think??

Our Creative Corner Challenge Card:

Stamps: Thanks Snow Much
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Real Red, Pool Party, PTI White
Accessories: Candy Cane Stripes Embossing Folder, Oval & Oval Scallop Nestibilities, Square & Square Scallop Nestibilities, Red Dotted Grosgrain, Felt Snowflakes, Kaiser Red Pearls, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that is all for me today!
Gonna go clean up my stamp table and watch a movie with hubby!

Free 4 All Challenge #75

Hello & Happy Friday!

I'm feeling better today as far as my headache/sinuses go but the neck is another story. It's been giving me issues for well over a month now. Many years ago I had a pinched nerve in there and every time I get a stiff neck it always grabs me in that same exact spot. Mid June I woke with a stiff neck and i've had it every since with some days being better than others. Now being that i've had this for a few weeks now i'm thinking possibly that nerve is pinched again and it is very bothersome especially when trying to stamp! My hubby found me some exercises online to do that might possibly help relive some pain along with taking some Advil. Let's hope it works!!!
Anyways, today is the Free 4 All Challenge over at SCS. Dawn the hostess this week challenged us to make a CAS (clean & simple) style card today with summer time being very busy. I pulled out another SU set called The Art of Life and used it with an old hostess set called Best Yet. I'm very happy with the outcome!

F4A75 Card:

Stamps: The Art of Life (set #94), Best Yet
Ink: Real Red & Certainly Celery SU Markers, Memento Black
Cardstock: Real Red, Neenah White
Accessories: Stamp A Ma Jig, Red Gingham Ribbon, Gold Dragonfly. Scor Tape

Well folks, it suddenly clouded up and I hear thunder rumbling out there so I better get off of here now!
Thanks for stopping by & have a fabulous Friday, friends!!
See ya tomorrow!

Ways To Use It Challenge 333

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Before I get started I just wanna yell out a Very Happy Birthday to my oldest daughter, Kirsten! She turns 27 today and I hope she has a wonderful day!

Ok, I woke up this morning with a God awful headache which I am associating with this sinus thing I have had going on the last few weeks. I did not take any meds the last 2 nites and this morning it reminded me that I still have this going on. Even before crawling out of bed I could feel my head pound everytime i'd move. Ughhh! Been a rough one so far and i'm still lounging around in my pj's!

And before the day got completely away from me I wanted to participate in today's Ways to Use It Challenge 333. We were to Alter Ribbon whether we needed to recolor it, scrunch it or stamp on it....that was the challenge.
My card today was done in Almost Amethyst & Certainly Celery and I realized that they never had a ribbon in the color of Almost Amethyst so I grabbed a pc of white grosgrain from my stash and colored it with a BV00 Copic Marker and added it to my card with a silver circle clip. Quick & easy for me but my head still hurts. :( I do believe I have to bite the bullet and grab some Benedryl and go grab a nap because that stuff just knocks me for a loop! I'm sure tomorrow will be a better day...as long as I keep taking the Benedryl before bed!

So, that's all for me today!
Thank you for stopping by & I hope you all have a great day!
I'll see you tomorrow!

Snowman Door Hanger

Hello again!

Just wanted to share what I made today!
Another fabulous door hanger!
I used musical note paper from Hobby Lobby on my door hanger and the snowman. The snowman is cut out with cardboard then the paper using a Sizzix die that I borrowed from Vicki. It's so cute!
I sponged the edges with some chocolate chip ink and added red rhinestones and a small snowflake on the scarf.
Then I took some wired gold cord and wrapped it around my door hanger and tied a bow then wrapping more cord around it and made another bow and then again but on the last piece of cord I tied on some gold jingle bells. I curled the bow ends with a wooden chop stick. LOL
I fell in love with it!!

What do you think??

Snowman Door Hanger:

Stamps: none
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: The Paper Studio (musical note), Paper Pizzazz DSP (on the scarf)
Accessories: Wooden Door Hanger, Sizzix Snowman Die, Black Brads (eyes), Red Rhinestones, Gold Cord, Gold Jingle Bells, Multi Mono Liquid Glue

Well, that's all for me tonight!
Have to go chase my hubby in from across the street at the neighbors.
Sounds like their having a good ole time over there! LOL
Thanks for stopping by & have a good nite!

Sketch Challenge 343

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope your all having a great day so far!

The Sketch Challenge was posted early enough that I could get it done tonight (Tuesday) and maybe sleep in alittle longer in the morning. I really liked the layout of this and found that it worked perfectly for a card I needed for a friend back home who is going for gastric bypass surgery next week. I wanted her to know I was thinking of her!

Below is the sketch and my card...

I was dying to use my new Perfect Plum Taffeta Ribbon that I got a few weeks ago so I dug into my stash of papers and found this SU Perfect Plum 12 X 12 DSP. This picture really does not do this card any justice....I love how bold the Perfect Plum color is and how well the butterfly stands out! What do you think??

Sketch Challenge 343 Card:

Stamps: Butterfly Prints (set #92), Warmest Regards
Ink: Perfect Plum
Cardstock: PTI White, Perfect Plum, Perfect Plum DSP
Accessories: Scallop Trim Border Punch, Butterfly Punch, SU Basic Pearls, Perfect Plum Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, I guess I really should get to bed or I won't feel like doing a thing tomorrow and I have a busy day planned!!

Color Challenge 333

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was pretty low keyed. I did work on some more craft show things but other than that we just took it easy. It was another hot & humid weekend here. I know I sound like a broken record but I guess you can say that I am not use to it being this hot with temperatures in the 100's. The dog & I probably feel about the same being cooped up in the house. We miss our walks in the park and as long as it's this hot.....we won't be walking! The weatherman today on the noon news said for the month of August it's gonna be much of the same.....HOT, HUMID and little RAIN. Ughhh!

Anyways, today is Color Challenge day over at SCS and the colors are: Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango & Daffodil Delight. I like these colors and would have never thought to pair them together but I guess that's what the color challenge is for! :)

Color Challenge 333 Card:

Stamps: Posy Punch (set #91), Whimsical Words SAB 09
Ink: Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango, Neenah White
Accessories: SU Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Fancy Flower Punch, Daffodil Delight Satin Ribbon, SU Basic Pearls, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

I also used set #91 in my quest to use all my SU sets in 2011.
This card was made for Kelsey to send a Thank You note to my Aunt who sent her a beautiful Graduation card. I know it ment alot to her!

Well, that's all I have to share today!
Thank you for stopping by & have a great day, friends!

Hello & Happy Friday!

Yipppeeee, it's once again Friday but boy is it a sorcher outside with no end in sight for the mid west. I know the east coast is baking too but atleast they have a cold front on the way to give them a few days of relief. Sure wish we'd get a week's worth of rain and some cooler temps but not happenin!
Anyways, today is the Free 4 All Challenge over at SCS. Our hostess, Wendy, challenged us to do things by Two's! Something on our card/project has to be in two!
I dug out another old, dusty stamp set today called Bud Basics. It's set #90 in my quest to see that all my sets see ink and this one use to be one of my favorite sets!
I need a birthday card for my oldest daughter for next week and since it takes about 4-5 days to mail something back to PA I thought i'd better get on this! My daughter will be 27 next Thursday so this is the card I made her....

So what do you think?? I like it!! :)

Christmas Mittens

Hi again!!

This afternoon I spent some time in my garage (my stamp room) and pulled out this wooden mitten I picked up and I just had to decorate it all up!

I went thru my paper stash and found this Basic Grey paper that I soooo love and got right to work! Then I looked around for a cute sentiment to put on it. I used this one from a set of 4 from Hero Arts. I added some lace, ribbon and gold cord so it can be hung on a doorknob or a shelf or even the Christmas Tree!!!

What do you think?? I really like it and again, hate to part with it! LOL
I have more and plan to fancy them all up too!
Stay tuned....

Thanks for stopping by!

Lost a good bit of weight since last July but has a terrible ear infection! Lots of ear cleaning, ointment and antibiotics for the next 3 weeks and a change in her food since she is now a senior poochie and surprising she loves it! 1 doggie shot and she was out the door. She got lots of treats after that!! :)

Well, that's all for now!

Color Challenge 331

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Today is Color Challenge day. The colors are: Not Quite Navy, Baja Breeze and Cherry Cobbler. Love these colors but I really struggled with them. The dessert option is Christmas in July. I've seen some really pretty cards so far but i've found it alittle tough. I may try to play with these colors again later.

Color Challenge 331 Card:

Stamps: Angelic Joy (set #85)
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy, PTI White
Accessories: SU Petals A Plenty Embossing Folder, Martha Stewart Doily Punch, Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon, Kaiser White Pearls, Hot Glue, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

So what do you think? I'm not quite sure on it. I do like the layout but something about those colors threw me off. Maybe i'm just not awake yet. Shawn's Restless Leg was acting up durning the night and eventually about 4am I had enough and got up. I made him breakfast and sent him off to work so I think now my bed is calling me back for a quick nap! :)

That's all for now!
Thanks for stopping by & have a terrific Tuesday!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope your all having a great day so far!
I made my way to my stamp room to finally get my Our Creative Corner Challenge started after putting it off all weekend. I had this idea in my mind and was afraid i'd lose it. LOL
Kristen from the OCC Blog themed this weeks challenge " A White Party" and we could only use white and a neutral color ink. I recently got this Lattice Die from SU and seen this cross made many times with it so I just had to give it a try!

I had to take my card outside to get a half decent picture. For me, white is so hard to photograph so this is the best I could get...
I cut my cross out of the Lattice Die, added my white satin ribbon with a pearl brad to the center of the cross & 2 Kaiser white pearls to kinda even it out. I popped the cross up on dimensionals and added the sympathy sentiment with Sahara Sand ink and it was finished. I'm quite happy with it! Thanks Kristen for an awesome challenge this week! :)

Our Creative Corner Challenge Card:

Stamps: Petite Pairs
Ink: Sahara Sand
Cardstock: PTI White
Accessories: SU Lattice Die, Pearl Brad, Kaiser White Pearls, Satin White Ribbon, Dimensionals

That's all for now....i'm headed back to my stamp table for more fun!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Yesterday I ment to do a blog update but instead we ended up taking a road trip to Kansas City with my Missouri friend, Vicki Burdick! I was giddy that I was able to pick up some cute things there.....stuff that I hope to put to good use in the coming weeks!

But for today, I had laundry to get done and I also had a few projects on my stamp table that were started but not finished. I got them done and out of the way!! This adorable little tablet was one of them...I don't think I am parting with this one!!

Stamps: Lockhart Stamp Co, Sentiment is unknown
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Neenah White, Summer Sun, October Afternoon DSP
