Oldies But Goodies

 Hello & Happy Monday!

The heat is still on here in PA and most of the country!
Today I have my cleaning to do so, of course, my ac will be running full speed ahead.
I am ready for some cooler weather so we can open the windows!

I have a card to share that I made for my card lady that I have not mailed out to her yet.
I was inspired by a card I saw on Facebook that used an old SaleABRation set that was out in 2006. My set is wood mounted and never used.

Card Details:

Stamps: Send A Celebration (SAB 2006), Rose Wonder (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Highland Heather, Stampin Blends-Highland Heather, Balmy Blue & Daffodil Delight
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Basic White, Highland Heather, Balmy Blue DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Stylish Shapes Dies, Circle Layering Framelits, Hives 3D EF, Bumble Bee Trinket (retired), Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Hopefully today I can get it address and ready for the mail.
I feel like I did not get much accomplished this weekend.
Ready for Fall to say the least!!!

Terracotta Tile Sunflowers

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Boy, wasn't yesterday a hot & humid day?
We hit 93 degrees for the 2nd day of October!
Today is another story....our temps dropped 30 degrees since a cold front came thru and it's to be dreary & rainy all day. More like Fall weather and I know we really need some rain!

Today I have a set of sympathy cards to share that was part of last week's card order.
These use a new In Color this year....Terracotta Tile!

At first I was not a fan of this color but after using it for the first time on this set of cards, I was pleasantly surprised! It's not nearly as dark as I expected it to be!
I inked my flower from the Painted Harvest set in Terracotta Tile ink and the center was done with Soft Suede. My sentiment is from the retired Rose Wonder stamp set.

Card Details:

Stamps: Painted Harvest, Rose Wonder (retired)
Ink: Terracotta Tile, Soft Suede
Cardstock: Terracotta Tile, Whisper White, Terracotta Tile DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Square Layering Framelits, Stitched Nested Dies, Terracotta Tile Faceted Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I was really taken with this set of cards and so was my customer!
Painted Harvest is my favorite stamp set!
It can be used in almost any color!

Abstract Impressions

Hello & Happy Saturday!

What a day it turned out to be yesterday!
Our weather was gorgeous!
Shawn went out and mowed then cleaned out the rain gutters.
We had lots of leaves, twigs and whirly birds on the roof that washed into the gutters after all the storms we had this week!

This afternoon we are heading to Baltimore.
He is meeting up with someone who is buying a set of tires & rims off of him.
Hope we are home before we get any storms!

I do have a set of cards to share that were part of my customers last order.
She wanted something spring/summery for a sympathy card.
This is what I created for her.

Abstract Impressions is one of my favorite sets besides Painted Harvest!
I love the spring/summery flowers that are in the set so I decided to use it.
I used Daffodil Delight Cardstock & DSP along with the Subtles EF.
My sentiment comes from the retired Rose Wonder set (another favorite) which is stamped in Granny Apple Green.
My bow if Daffodil Delight 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon that is retired too.
I have always loved this size of ribbon as it makes nice bows and does not bulk up the card.

Card Details:

Stamps: Abstract Impressions, Rose Wonder (retired)
Ink: Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green
Cardstock: Daffodil Delight, Whisper White, Daffodil Delight DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Square Layering Framelits, Subtle EF, Daffodil Delight 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon (retired), Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This DSP is retiring next week and this set of cards helped me use up this particular print.
I really love this polka dot print!
I also made these cards flat for easy mailing!

With Sympathy

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope your week is going well!

Today I have one last set of cards that were part of my customer's order last month.
I used another sheet of the Frosted Floral DSP for them.
These are nothing fancy as I wanted to let the paper do all the work.

I pulled my colors from this sheet of paper and my sentiment comes from the retired Rose Wonder stamp set.

Card Details:

Stamps: Rose Wonder (retired)
Ink: Tranquil Tide
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Whisper White, Tranquil Tide, Frosted Floral DSP (retired)
Accessories: Oval Layering Framelits, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Simple and easy!

Happy New Year!!

Hello & Happy Monday!

Happy New Year, too!
Did you make any resolutions this year?
I normally do not but I feel strongly on getting back on my bike this year and to be honest, I really miss it! I have not been on my bike since mid October!
I pledged to also get back on board with eating healthier, too! We've fallen off the horse pretty hard the last several months and I feel horrible. Exercise & eating better is a must!

I have also decided this year to do some things differently with blogging. No, i'm not stopping but going to not blab so much and just get to sharing what you all come here to see and that is something stamped!

So, on this January 1st 2018.... here is my first blog entry!

Coppery Happy Birthday Card Set:

Stamps: Rose Wonder
Ink: Versamark, Copper Embossing Powder
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Copper Foil, Year of Cheer Specialty DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Copper Trim, Heat Gun, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

That paper was SO pretty with the mix of foils in it!
A great card to start off the new year!

Baby Wipe Technique

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Yesterday was a bit on the rainy, dreary side but it was a good day to start some house cleaning. My hubby had to work so it was a good opportunity to do that!

Today I have a card to share that I made with my stamp friends on Saturday.
It uses the Baby Wipe Technique which was very fun! I did this many years ago and recently seen it done again and so this card was born!

This card is my favorite of them all because of the pretty Fall colors captured in the leaves from using the baby wipe technique! I pulled out the Copper Trim and tried trying a bow and I wasn't happy that my ends frayed every time I would cut them. So I thought I seen somewhere that it was said that the trim would pull apart like a mesh so that's what I did with it instead of a bow. I adhered it under my Happy Birthday Sentiment and loved the look of it! All the girls cards looked different because of the way the trim turned out. Since the trim is copper, I pulled out my Encore Metallic Copper Pad to stamp the veins of the leaves once the solid leaves dried. So happy with this card! It will be going to my sister in law in about 2 weeks! I hope she likes it!

Happy Birthday Card:

Stamps: Colorful Seasons, Rose Wonder (sentiment)
Ink: Reinkers- Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze & Pumpkin Pie, Cajun Craze, Encore Metallic Copper
Cardstock: Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Very Vanilla
Accessories: Sticthed Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Pumpkin Pie Enamel Dots, Copper Trim, Baby Wipes, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

After doing this one...I am going to try something similar for Christmas!
I think the girls will love that!

I'm not giving up!
Once my house work is done I can go STAMP!!! LOL

With Sympathy

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

I survived a day of housework....well, just barely!
It took me darned near all day but I also dug out my Halloween decorations which we did not do last week. I got the inside decorated with a couple things, now the rest is on Shawn to put on the front porch. My back is a bit achy today. Yesterday is was so stinkin hot & humid out. Blah!  Who feels like decorating for Halloween when it's 90 some degrees out! I hear that a cool down is coming at the end of the week...I sure hope so because the last 2 days have been very summer like. I've been noticing the trees are changing colors and dropping their leaves so I know the cool crisp weather can't be too far off.

Today I have a card to share that I cased from BJ Peters. Her card was so pretty and it sang to me! I changed up a few things on but for the most part I kept the same layout. I made this with my stamp friends at our get together last week.

That pretty patterned paper comes from the A Whole Lot of Lovely DSP in the annual SU catalog. The prints in the paper are very pretty and all florals. The girls that came to my stamp get together loved this card and it was quick & simple to create!

With Sympathy Card:

Stamps: Rose Wonder
Ink: Tranquil Tide
Cardstock: Tranquil Tide, Pool Party, Crushed Curry, Whisper White, A Whole Lot of Lovely DSP
Accessories: 3/8 Satin Crushed Curry Ribbon, Glue Dot, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Yes indeed!
Lots on my agenda today if I can pull my butt out of my Lazy Boy!
My recliner has always been my "to go to chair" for my back issues. It's one thing I cannot live without!  What is one thing you cannot live without?

That is all for me today.

A Special Wedding Card Request

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

A few days ago I got a request in the mail from my customer for a wedding card.
She sent me the original wedding invite and asked me to make a card almost like it.
Here is the invite....

I laid the directions for the reception over top the information because I did not want to show that online but I did want to show the colors and design.

So, I looked high & low thru my million & one stamps and found an old retired background stamp called Filigree. I'm not sure of the year but I know it's old. I decided instead of just inking it in white craft ink that I would emboss it onto Crumb Cake cardstock with Winter White embossing powder.
Here was my take on the wedding invitation...

I was so happy with the outcome!
I added that pretty organza ribbon and a big ole bow once I had the sentiment embossed and diecut using the retired Chalk Talk Framelits. And what would a wedding card be without adding pearls?! I wish though I would have added some glitter to the embossing for a pop of sparkle but nonetheless I am overjoyed with how it turned out!

Wedding Card:

Stamps: Filigree (retired), Rose Wonder (sentiment)
Ink: Versamark, Winter White Embossing Powder
Cardstock: Crumb Cake
Accessories: Chalk Talk Framelits, White Organza Ribbon, White Pearls, Heat Gun, Dimensionals, Glue Dots, 2 Sided Tape

What do you think??

Total Case of Chiaki Haverstick

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Burrr it's very cold here today!
Yes, we are finally getting winter now that spring is like 9 days away!
Today we aren't expected to get out of the 20's but thankfully the sunshine is melting some of the snow we had yesterday! Today in York is the St Patrick's Day Parade. It's gonna be downright freezing for that! I will not be attending but do have to pop out to Petco to pick up dog food and a quick trip to Michael's and back home to hibernate the rest of the weekend. It's fine though as I have a few things on my stamp table to finish up!

Today I have a card to share that is a total case of Chiaki Haverstick. I fell in love with this card the first time I seen it and has been in my favorite's folder for a very long time.
Only thing I changed was the sentiment.

I love the tropical feel of these dies and the matching dsp!
I hope to get a few more cards made with this set of framelits before I give it back to my friend.

You're In My Thoughts Card:

Stamps: Rose Wonder (sentiment)
Ink: Mossy Meadow, Cajun Craze (sponged on flower)
Cardstock: Hello Honey, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, Botanical Gardens DSP
Accessories: Botanical Builder Framelits, Rhinestone, Sponge, Dimensional, Tombow Mono Adhesive

I have been working on Easter treats this past week.
I will start sharing them soon!

Ink: Garden Green, Real Red
Cardstock: Whisper White Thick, Garden Green, Whisper White
