Curvy Keepsake Box Challenge

Hello & Happy Friday!

Today I have a challenge to share with you by my dear friend, Vicki!
She challenged me to make a box with the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits so I made 2!

First one I made is a Wedding Box...

I used Sahara Sand cardstock with Something Borrowed DSP from the Occasions Mini Catalog! This paper is so pretty! I added a tag using the Your Perfect Day stamp set. The added roses are from the Artisan Embellishment Kit! There are alot of goodies in that kit and sadly it's no longer available. I finished it off with some Blushing Bride Ribbon!

Here is my Halloween Curvy Keepsake Box:

For my box I used some Basic Black cardstock and added some Witch's Brew DSP. Using the same pack of DSP I punched a tag with the Note Tag Punch using a different print of paper and added my spider web and sentiment from the Mixed Medley stamp set which was a hostess stamp 2 years ago! I added 3 black pearls to my tag and finished it up with a Crushed Curry bow! I'm pretty happy with both and can't wait to fill these boxes and use as a gift!

This was such a fun challenge, Vicki! Thanks so much!
Stop by Vicki's blog to check out her Curvy Keepsake Boxes! I know her's will be awesome!

Well, that's all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Sketch Challenge 551

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Sketch Challenge day over at SCS brings us a really cool layout that I just wanted to play along with!

I flipped the sketch and used a new stamp set called From Land to Sea! I love the images in this set since I am fond of the ocean and beach. I spent many of summers as young girl in Ocean City Maryland and every year we were on vacation there my Dad & Uncle always went out on the fishing boats to fish. We would greet them at the dock every evening to see what they caught and I remember seeing swordfish, sharks & tuna's hanging up while they were being weighed and pictures taken. Alot of times it was fishing tournaments that they participated in and it was something my Dad always enjoyed! Seeing this swordfish stamp really brought back alot of fond memories for me!

I paired up my swordfish with the Adventure Bound DSP from the Occasions Mini and added a silver metallic button with some Island Indigo button. Nothing fancy but perfect for a fisherman! I'm sure this card would bring my Dad alot of memories as well!

Sketch Challenge 551 Card:

Stamps: From Land to Sea
Ink: Island Indigo
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Whisper White, Adventure Bound DSP
Accessories: Silver Metallic Button, Island Indigo Twine, Glue Dot, Stamp A Ma Jig, 2 Sided Tape

That's all for today!
Another hot & humid day here in PA!
I'm to the point now i'm wishing Fall would soon arrive!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!
Stay COOL!!

Color Challenge 541

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
I took a few days off from blogging to relax and spend time with my hubby this weekend. I stamped on Sunday a bit making some things for the Holiday Craft Show. That time of the year is slowly creeping up on us!

Anyways, today is Color Challenge day over at SCS and I needed a Thank You card.

Here are the colors:

Rose Red, Mint Macaron & Tip Top Taupe
with the dessert option to use ribbon

I just got the Definitely Dahlia background stamp last week so of course I had to ink it up!
I'm not too sure i'm keen on these colors but I really do LOVE that big Dahlia! And that Lacey Ribbon in the New In Colors is so YUMMY! It ties beautifully!

Color Challenge 541 Card:

Stamps: Definitely Dahlia Background, Best of Greetings (sentiment)
Ink: Rose Red, Tip Top Taupe
Cardstock: Tip Top Taupe, Rose Red, Whisper White
Accessories: Stamp A Ma Jig, White Pearls, Mint Macaron Lacey Ribbon, 2 Sided Tape

My Stampin Up Party last Friday was a huge success! Thanks to all the ladies that attended or gave online orders!  I was able to earn $105 in Hostess Dollars! I was speechless and really wasn't prepared with a Wish List to cover that! However, I did manage to pick out a slew of stuff that will be arriving this week! I cannot wait!

Thanks Nan for a great party!

Well, that's all for me today!
It's hotter than hot here today! Blah!
 Thank God for air conditioning!

Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Masculine Cards

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Hope your all having a great week!
The weather here in PA the last 2 days has been beautiful! Too bad it couldn't stay this way year round!

Today I am sharing 2 masculine cards that I whipped up! These are cards I had saved on Pinterest and decided to case them. I did make some changes as they are not exactly the same as the original creators but I loved the colors and the design of the cards! This card was cased from Karen Squires.

You're My Anchor Card:

Stamps: Guy Greetings
Ink: Island Indigo, Basic Gray
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Adventure Awaits DSP
Accessories: Banners Framelits, Arrows EF, Hexagon Punch (flag ends), Circle & Scallop Circle Punches, Smoky Slate 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Island Indigo Twine, Silver Beads, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

This card was cased from Janet Holmes.

Fish Happy Birthday Card:

Stamps: By the Tide, Guy Greetings
Ink: Smoky Slate, Island Indigo
Cardstock: Basi  Gray, Island Indigo, Whisper White, Adventure Awaits DSP
Accessories: Hexagon Punch (flag ends), Island Indigo Twine, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

I love the tilted panel on this fish card!! Tilted panels give the card a bit of interest in my opinion!
I love making masculine cards as they come naturally to me! Flowers on the other hand, not so much! I have a few occasions coming up that these cards will be used for.

Well, that's all for me today!
Off to get a cake baked for tomorrow and a haircut this evening!
One more sleep till my Stampin Up party! So excited!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Silver Anniversary 1990-2015

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

No updates yesterday as it was my hubby & I's 25th wedding anniversary!
He left work early and took me out to dinner then we did some shopping!
It was a nice quiet evening spent together!

It's been crazy busy here at the Aungst Pad. I'm trying to get things prepared for my Stampin Up Party on Friday evening and my back is giving me some grief as well. Sleeping has not been too good as I can't find a comfortable position because my back & hip hurt. Not too much I can really do for now but ice packs & my Tramadol and hope September soon gets here!

So before I get ready to head off to bed I did want to share the Anniversary card I made Shawn. Since it's our 25th anniversary, that means it's the silver anniversary so I made my card with lots of silver!

I was trying to keep it manly but you know me when it comes to embellishments!! LOL
He loved it anyways!

25 Wedding Anniversary Card:

Stamps: Word Play (retired)
Ink: Versamark, Silver Embossing Powder
Cardstock: Neenah White, Silver Brush Metallic (retired), Silver Glitter Paper
Accessories: Labels Framelits, Happy Heart EF, Small Heart Punch, Silver Cord, Glue Dot, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

Here is a picture of Shawn & I with his Mom (whom we miss dearly) on our wedding day, July 21, 1990.

And us from last year in the Bahama's.

We had a really nice anniversary! Here's to 25 more!

Well, that's all for me today!
I hope to be back tomorrow if I get everything on my "to do" list finished!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Merry Monday Challenge #167

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a terrific weekend!

Today over at Merry Monday we have a new challenge for you! Bonnie is our hostess for the next 2 weeks so we hope you'll join in and get those Christmas cards made!

Let's get started!!

I used my old Gingerbread House stamp set because there are a few hearts incorporated into the stamp images. This is one of my favorite sets that I will never part with! Alot of coloring required but that's ok!

I'm not sure I will let my sentiment flag on because of mailing purposes but I liked the look of it tilted off the card. I colored my images with Copic Markers and added glue with a glue pen then lots & lots of glitter! It's very sparkly! I love Gingerbreadmen! My kitchen is loaded with them!

Merry Monday Challenge 167 Card:

Stamps: Gingerbread House
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers, Real Red
Cardstock: Real Red, Glorious Green, Whisper White
Accessories: Hexagon Punch (for flag ends), Glue Pen, Glitter, Red & Green Rhinestones, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

Hope you will stop by the Merry Monday blog and check out all the inspiration the team has created! Those ladies have some amazing cards! I also hope you will play along with us!

Well, that's all for me today!
My housework awaits!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!

Color Challenge 539

Hello& Happy Wednesday!

Sorry about no updates yesterday.
I was a bit under the weather. Not sure if I had a bug or maybe it was a side affect of my pain meds but just felt lightheaded & nauseated. Headed to bed early but ended up getting woken up by thunder around 2 am. That was quite a storm!

Today I felt better and headed down to play along with yesterdays Color Challenge 539.
Here are the colors:

Wild Wasabi, Perfect Plum & Soft Sky
w/ a dessert option of having one edge of your card something other than straight

I passed on dessert this week...

I used my Crazy About You Polymer stamp set for this card. I really like the words & images in it and I like being able to see where I am stamping. I stamped my greens once then stamped off again for a lighter image and I like that look. My flower is stamped and punched out with the Flower Medallion Punch. I added a few rhinestones for interest. My sentiment is a bit crocked. I knew I should have used my Stamp A Ma Jig! I finished off my card with some Soft Sky Ribbon.

Color Challenge 539 Card:

Stamp: Crazy About You
Ink: Perfect Plum, Wild Wasabi
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Perfect Plum, Whisper White
Accessories: Flower Medallion Punch, Soft Sky 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

Hope you like my card!

Well, off to get my lasanga out of the oven for supper! Yum!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Ribbon of Hope Cards

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

Since we are doing our challenges every 2 weeks over at Merry Monday for the summer months today I am going to share a few sets of cards I made over the weekend. First off i'd like to say that my hubby did an amazing job on the painting the front porch railings over the weekend. Yesterday I did help him to make it go faster. It is alot for one person. Today I am feeling the affects of crawling around on my knees and the constant bending. My back & body are not happy with me, so once I get done with my update I will go soak up a hot shower to help!

So let's get to my cards...

I borrowed this stamp set, Hope Is....from my friend to whip up some cancer cards for upcoming craft shows! Thanks so much, Deb!! These could be sent to someone who is battling the disease or someone whom has conquered cancer. I left my insides blank for a special note inside. I know of a few people who have battled breast cancer and are now survivors!  I have been affected by ovarian cancer some 19 years ago when Kelsey was just 3 years old. Thankfully, I did not have to go thru the chemo or radiation but I have the big scar on my belly to remind me of it everyday. I was one of the lucky ones and sadly there are SO many that aren't so lucky....

I hope that my cards will bring someone love & hope and to remind them that they are not alone in their battle.
My only wish is that one day this horrible disease will have a cure!

Ribbon of Hope Cards:

Stamps: Hope Is..., What Cancer Cannot Do sentiment from DRS Designs
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Taken w/ Teal, Memento Black
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Taken w/ Teal, Whisper White, Basic Black
Accessories: Corner Punch, Stamp A Ma Jig, Rhinestones, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that's all for me today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a super Monday!
