Thoughtful Branches

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

As I type right now we are getting rain & storms! Yippeee Skippee!
My yard so desperately needs the rain as it's getting quite brown & crispy! After these storms come thru it is to cool down some and take away the humidity for a few days. I hope it stays thru the holiday weekend!

So my card today is one I cased from several that I have seen on Pinterest. I changed up the colors on mine since the Fall season will be here soon. (Atleast I hope!)

I used Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze & Early Espresso to create my Fall card.
I just love it!

You're In My Thoughts Card:

Stamps: Thoughtful Branches
Ink: Crushed Curry, Cajun Craze, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Cajun Crazy, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Whisper White, Gold Foil Paper
Accessories: Circle Punch, Beautiful Branches Thinlits, Elegant Dots EF, Dimensionals, Tombow Liquid Multipurpose Glue

Memory Box Deer Tags

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
It sure was another hot one around here. Still hoping for cooler weather to come soon!

Today I have another pack of Christmas Tags to share. These are made with the Trio of Deer die from Memory Box. My friend, Carol, introduced me to these a few years back and it's been in my stash ever since! Thanks Carol!

These tags were so much fun to whip up! I went with more neutral manly colors with a pop of sparkle from the Gold Glimmer Paper and Gold Cord. The Merry Christmas is from the Petite Pairs set and the To and From is from Chock Full of Fun. My tags are made with Crumb Cake cardstock and I used a SU Corner Punch to create the corners to look like a tag. I'm not sure of the name of the punch anymore. It's an old one. To finish up my tags I used some Jute that was in my stash to attach them to a gift bag or a package. And you may have noticed....the Memory Box Trio of Deer Die has 3 deer on. I cut the 3rd one off to fit my tags. You will probably see that lonely 3rd deer floating around on another project eventually! LOL

With Sympathy

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Not much on my agenda today until later this evening when football is on!
Going to make chili in the crock pot and pick at a few chores in the meantime. Shawn has to work today and it's still so stinkin hot out. I'm hoping the weather soon starts to cool down so it feels like football season.

Anyways, just a quick card to share today.
This card was made as part of my customers order last week.
A simple sympathy card.

I have to say that this card did not turn out as a simple card. I used the Rose Wonder Bundle and sat down to diecut a couple rose & leaves but it turned out to be more trouble than I expected. After cutting out all the roses I went to cut the leaves and had one heck of a time getting them lined up on my card. This was done with the rose in So Saffron and the leaves in Pear Pizzazz and lining up the 2 diecuts together created an issue for me. I eventually gave up and just stamped a few images from the stamp set and called them done. Also I tried to ink up the huge rose & leaf image with SU Markers and stamp my image on Whisper White cardstock but the images did not come out very well. I have heard that when you use markers on the photopolymer stamps that this happens. Needless to say I was pretty frustrated until I just decided to stamp a few images and be done with it! I love the sentiments in this set but really disappointed with trying to stamp the images in 2 different colors. I will give it another try....eventually!

With Sympathy Card:

Stamps: Rose Wonder
Ink: So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: So Saffron, Whisper White
Accessories: Rhinestone, 2 Sided Tape

Snow Place Tags

Hello & Happy Friday!

TGIF!

Today I have another pack of Christmas Tags to share.
I'm slowly starting to work on some Christmas things and tags have been on my agenda!
These were alot of work but also fun to make!

Can you believe that I did not have one penguin stamp in my stamp collection?

I had this stamp set, Snow Place, in my sights last year when it came out then thought to myself that I really did not need it. Then a few months ago I was asked to make bridal shower invites with a penguin on and realized I did not have a single penguin stamp! After that I got the Snow Place set & matching Snow Friends Framelits and made this pack of tags for the upcoming holiday season!
Cute aren't they?

Merry Christmas Penguin Tags:

Stamps: Snow Place
Ink: Basic Black Archival, Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie SU Marker
Cardstock: Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Very Vanilla, This Christmas Specialty Paper
Accessories: Snow Friends Framelits, 2 1/2 Circle Punch, Lucky Stars EF, Two Tags Bigz Die, Hexagon Punch (flag ends), Cherry Cobbler Thick Twine, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I don't know why I did not take photo's of the tags before I packaged them up!
I will just chalk it up to getting old & forgetful.

For sure!

Sunflower Tag

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Usually once a month I have an order to make for a customer. Once the order is ready I place the packs of cards in a gift bag and make a little tag to hang on the bag. Since she is the one who requested the sunflower cards that I shared earlier this week, I went and used the Thoughtful Branches Bundle to make her a sunflower tag. My photo's aren't very clear as I took these pictures at my stamp table as the order was headed out the door.

Again, I used the Two Tags BigZ Die for my tag and then stamped it with the Woodgrain Background Stamp in Crumb Cake. I stamped 9 leaves from the Thoughtful Branches stamp set in Crushed Curry on Crushed Curry cardstock then diecut them out. My center is made from a piece of Chocolate Chip cardstock that I punched out with the 1 3/4 Circle Punch then ran thru the Cuttlebug with the Swiss Dots Embossing Folder. I was tickled with the sunflower once I had it all glued together! I placed it on my tag with Dimensionals and stamped my sentiment from the same set in Chocolate Chip ink. The button & linen thread were already made up in my stash container and felt that it worked perfectly on my tag. I added my tag to the bag with some heavy jute and called it done!
My customer LOVED it!

Sunflower Tag:

Stamps: Thoughtful Branches, Woodgrain Background Stamp
Ink: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Thoughtful Branches Thinlits, 1 3/4 Circle Punch, Swiss Dots EF, Button, Linen Thread, Jute, Glue Dot, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

So very true!

Farmer's Market Notecard

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Just a quick card today as I have a busy day ahead!

My customer requested cards made with grapes. Not sure if someone she knows loves grapes or they are a fan of wine drinking but this is the best I could do for grapes! This is DSP from the retired pack of Farmer's Market that I found the grape images in and cut out. The other paper shown is also from the same pack. She wanted no sentiments on these so she could use as a notecard.

I was pleased with the outcome but I struggled with not putting a sentiment on.
Oh, the life of a card maker! Ha!

Grape Notecard:

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Cardstock: Blackberry Bliss, Farmer's Market DSP
Accessories: Circle & Scallop Circle Nestibilities, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Poinsettia Christmas Tags

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Our weather here yesterday & today is gorgeous!
Last evening we decided to leave the bikes parked in the garage and take a hike instead at Lake Redman. The lake was calm & peaceful. It was a nice hike other than the swarms of gnats that were close to the waters edge.

Tonight we will probably do another hike on a different trail which is fine by me. I like switching things up!

So, yesterday I shared a sunflower card that was made with the Two Tags Bigz Die. Today I have a pack of gift tags made for Christmas that I used the same tag and Woodgrain stamp on. I love these!

I used the Reason for the Season stamp set & coordinating Festive Flower Punch for these. I stamped up enough petals to make 20 poinsettia's and that's no easy feat but the outcome is always very rewarding! These are gorgeous! My saying comes from the Lots of Joy stamp set that is retired. The center has gold beads in them that I am not sure where they came from....I want to say the Dollar Tree. My gold string came from an Amish stamp store....years ago! I finally found the right project to use it on! All I can say is that these pictures do not do these tags justice.

Poinsettia Tags:

Stamps: Reason for the Season, Lots of Joy, Woodgrain Background Stamp
Ink: Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Real Red, Old Olive
Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Real Red, Old Olive
Accessories: Festive Flower Bunch, Two Tags Bigz Die, Gold Beads, Gold String, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Time for Sunflowers

Hello & Happy Monday, friends!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Last evening was the closing ceremony for the Rio Olympics. We were glued to the tv for 2.5 hours watching. At the end I felt like I was watching a Las Vegas show....the colors and outfits were very vivid & bright and just amazing! My favorite part was when they put out the flame in the cauldron and announced the Rio games were over.
Rio, you did a fantastic job representing your beautiful country...you should be so proud!

So today I have a quick card to share with you.
It reminds me of Fall with the pretty sunflowers on it.
Take a look.

I started my card with making the tag from the Two Tags Bigz Die and stamped it with a Woodgrain background stamp in Crumb Cake ink. I stamped my sentiment from the new Thoughtful Branches stamp set which by the way....I love that set & matching dies! The sunflowers are from a Great Impressions stamp that I have had for many years. I colored my image with Copic Markers and on my flowers I added some Clear Wink of Stella for a bit of sparkle because everyone likes sparkle! I added a little bow with some Linen Thread. The cardbase is Chocolate Chip with a layer of Crushed Curry that was run thru the Cuttlebug with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder. I am really loving this card and those pretty sunflowers! Reminds me that Fall is not so far off.

Well, that is all I have for today!
Off to make a pan of lasanga for supper then headed out for an evening bike ride with my hubby! The weather is beautiful! Can't wait!

Olympics in Rio de Janeiro

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Today is the last day of the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
We have watched from day one! The opening ceremonies were beautiful and I think Rio did a wonderful job hosting this year! I am looking forward to watching the closing ceremonies this evening and wrapping this up! We have been glued to the tv for days.....well the last 17 days to be exact! So in honor of the Olympics I made my friend a little treat of goodies to represent the USA. She is a fan of the Olympics too!

It was amazing that the candy companies brought out all the patriotic wrappers this year to represent our country. I put some Hershey Kisses inside a small cello bag and added a USA topper with my Layered Letters Alphabet set and punched a small gold star with some Gold Glimmer Paper. Cute and right to the point!

Last evening we watched a recap of Men's Soccer and it was amazing to see that Brazil took home the gold metal.....first ever! So great for them! And a huge congrats to all the countries that won! They were alot of fun to watch!

Happy Birthday, Dad

Hello & Happy Friday!

I have been taking a break from blogging and watching the Olympics these last 2 weeks!
Have you been watching?

Today is a special day.....it's my Dad's birthday!

It doesn't matter who's right or wrong today. My family has fallen apart once again and no one speaks. It's been a year & a half since I last seen my Dad and I really hope deep down he knows how much we miss him and how much I hate this situation. I'm sure he hates it too.
And so this is the card I sent my Dad. I will continue to send him cards to remind him that he is special to me and that we have not forgotten about him. He deserves to have a great day, no matter what!

I made this card awhile back as it reminds me so much of him from our days on vacation in Ocean City, Maryland. Lots of fun memories.....

It's not everyday that someone celebrates 81 birthdays!
I hope he has a very special day filled with joy & happiness!

Happy Birthday, Dad!

The Olympics wrap up this weekend so I hope to get back to blogging very soon!

Happy Bike Ride Sunday!

Happy Sunday!

It's a beautiful day here in PA today!
It is to stay this way for the next few days...which makes me happy!
We took our bikes out last evening for a quick ride after the storms came thru but it was still very humid. Felt good though to get out and ride!

Looking forward to getting out again today since our weather is really nice!
The AC is off and the windows are open to let the cool breeze blow thru!
My kind of weather!

So, today I do not have any stamp related projects to share but I will be back tomorrow with something. In the meantime, enjoy your Sunday and the nice weather!

Ready to Pop / Popcorn Box Thinlits

Hello & Happy Saturday!

The other evening I had a few minutes to pop down to my stamp table so I decided to pull out the Popcorn Box Thinlits along with it's coordinating stamp set called Ready to Pop. I have had this bundle since the new catalog came out 2 months ago and I finally gave it some attention. The reason I got this was because I thought about using it for craft shows and filling it with treats that were in season.

Anyways, this is a sample of my first popcorn box. I did not have much time to play and use all the dies in the thinlits but I promise I will soon. This box is much smaller than what I was expecting but one good thing it won't take much to fill it.  It is a perfect size for a nice little treat!

Since my Stacked with Love paper pad was laying out on my table I just decided to use it. Just a reminder that this paper stack is retired as is the small cello bag that I used for some Caramel Popcorn that I picked up in Ocean City, MD last week! That stuff is addicting! LOL
My sentiment is from the Ready to Pop stamp set.
I think this would be awesome to make for Thanksgiving and filling it with a Blessing Mix or Christmas and filling with the White Chocolate Snack Mix! The possibilities are endless!

Ready To Pop Popcorn Thinlits:

Stamps: Ready To Pop
Ink: Basic Black Archival, Real Red
Cardstock: Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black, Stacked with Love DSP (retired)
Accessories: Popcorn Box Thinlits, Circle & Scallop Circle Punches, Small Cello Bag (retired), Real Red Cotton Ribbon (retired), Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Cute, cute, cute!

My thought for today......

Speaking of bike riding.....we are hoping the temps will cool down by this evening so we can pack up our bikes and go for a ride! It's been about 3 weeks since we last rode them. I'm excited for a nice break in our weather the next couple of days to get out and get some bike therapy!

Well, that is all for me on this Saturday!

Thanks for taking time to stop by and enjoy your day!

A Special Anniversary Card

Hello & Happy TGIF!

The weekend is finally here!

So, earlier this week some very good friends of ours celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and I did not want to spoil the surprise by putting their card on here since Deb (my BFF) visits here often. Last evening I finally got it delivered to them and had a chance to visit.
Now I am able to share it here.

This card is made from Patty Bennett's Z Fold card tutorial that she had on her blog about 2 weeks ago. It is different from the normal Z Fold card and I am liking this one alot! I made Shawn a card for our anniversary 2 weeks ago with this same fold.

Give it a try....
Here is the link if your interested in making one.

Ink: Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Real Red, Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White, Stacked With Love DSP (retired)

This was a fun card to make for our very special friends!
Happy 25th Anniversary, Deb & Ed!

Celebrate the Season

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Today I have a Christmas card to share.
This is the first Christmas card I have made since March and with the holidays being only 5 months away I think I need to get started!

I borrowed Deb's stamp set called Happy Scenes along with the Hearth & Home Thinlits from last year's Holiday Catalog and made a few cards with it! The Thinlits are still available but sadly not the stamp set. The stamp set has alot of great images!

On my card I flipped my window frame on it's side just so the whole stamped image would fit inside of it. and I added a snowflake from the Flurry of Wishes stamp set that is still available. Behind the window I used the Softly Falling Embossing Folder and I added my sentiment.

I'm pleased with how my card turned out and love that it is mail friendly too!
Hope you like!

Celebrate the Season Card:

Stamps: Happy Scenes, Flurry of Wishes
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Accessories: Hearth & Home Thinlits, Snow Flurry Punch, Softly Falling Embossing Folder, Rhinestone, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Notecards & Envelopes

Hello & Happy Monday!

Today is August 1st! The time is really passing by!

I am trying to get caught up from our recent anniversary get away!
It was so relaxing & peaceful but I guess now it's time to get back to some kind of normal.
Vacations have a way of spoiling us, don't they?!

So, today's project is some Thank You cards for those who also spoiled us with anniversary gifts. Our friends knew we were going away so I thought I would continue using the Maryland Blue Crab for a note of Thanks!

Here they are:

The notecards & envelopes are from Stampin Up and make a nice Thank You note to send. I love the crab on these! The "Thank You" sentiment is from a retired Best of Greetings stamp set and I added a few small rhinestones for some sparkle.
I took these along on my get away to fill out and I completely forgot about them.
I know, shame on me!

Never!

That's all for today!
Lots of housework awaits today!

Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!
