Butterfly Basics

Hello & Happy Friday!

A rainy day is on tap again so I will most likely be in my craft room most of the day.
I am working on some card kits to share with my friends next week and I always enjoy creating cards for us to make!

Yesterday I sat and made a card for a Facebook Live Challenge from over at Debbie Henderson's blog. She was a teammate of mine when we were both on the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenge.
I visit her blog almost everyday and have reconnected with her. She does Facebook Live where she teaches card classes and many different techniques. I have learned how to do the Smooching Technique thru her and this is the card I made for her card class.

Every week she gives her watchers measurements for cardstock and gives suggestions for a stamp set so that people can stamp along with her. For this card she asked for the Dragonfly Dreams set which I did not have so I pulled out my Butterfly Basics stamp set which happens to be retiring soon.

Card Details:

Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Ink: Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette
Cardstock: Perfect Plum, Pink Pirouette, Glossy
Accessories: Spritzer Bottle with Rubbing Alcohol, Truly Tailored Tag Punch, Rhinestones, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I was happy to find a pack of Glossy cardstock from way back in 2002!
It came from Stampin Up! and back then we just had a small tag on it with the item number, nothing like we have today!

I am quite happy with this card!
I am going to try to recreate something to make with my stamp friends next week.
I think they will enjoy something different!

Thanks Debbie for teaching this class! I enjoyed it!

Butterfly Basics

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! They always seem to fly by so quickly!

I wrapped up my huge card order on Saturday and my customer already started on another list of cards she needs for next time. She surely keeps me on my toes!

My card today is one I created for her for her granddaughter who is celebrating a birthday this week!

I love the Blackberry Bliss color from the retired In Colors.
Thankfully, I have plenty of cardstock & ink to hold me over awhile!
This card is a case but I am not sure who from. The card was in my favorites folder and no name was attached to it. The original had all kinds of pretty embellishments on it but I kept mine simple.

Butterfly Basics HB Card:

Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Ink: Blackberry Bliss
Cardstock: Blackberry Bliss, Sahara Sand, Something Borrowed DSP (retired)
Accessories: Butterflies Thinlits, Blackberry Bliss Button, White Pearls, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I know my customer is crazy about the butterflies so i'm pretty confident she will like this card....atleast I hope so!

Thinking of You

Hello & Happy Friday!

The weekend is here!
Yippee Skippee!

Today I have a quick card to share that I made at the request of one of my customers.
She surely keeps me busy at my stamp table!
She likes having "Thinking of You" cards on hand so she can use them if something comes up unexpectedly.
This is one that I made for her using the small butterfly from the Butterfly Basics set.

That wee little butterfly is very pretty and I have to admit that it's the first time I used it!

Thinking of You Card:

Stamps: Butterfly Basics, Handwritten Hello's (retired 2001)
Ink: Basic Black Archival, Regal Rose
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Whisper White, Regal Rose 5 x 5 DSP Patterns Pack 2 (retired)
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Bold Butterfly Framelits, White 1/8 Grosgrain Ribbon, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

I made my card monochromatic which seems to be my "go to" thing quite a bit!
How often do you make monochromatic cards?

My thoughts today....

I know, I should not be using a snowman but since they are calling for snow flurries or a dusting of snow today I thought he was appropriate. He sure is a cutie!

Stay warm, everyone and have yourself a wonderful Friday!

Four Feathers Masculine Birthday

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a great weekend!
They always seem to go by so quickly, don't they?!

Today I have a masculine birthday card to share. Last Friday as I was browsing thru the Stampin Up catalog I noticed the new feather set in there called Feather Together. I wasn't real keen on the feathers but loved all the different sentiments in the set. It's on my Wish List but not a must have at the moment. It did remind me of the Four Feathers set I do have. I pulled it out and inked it up! My card rack can always use masculine cards!

Four Feathers Birthday Card:

Stamps: Four Feather, Butterfly Basics (sentiment)
Ink: Island Indigo, Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Island Indigo, Whisper White
Accessories: 2 Sided Tape

And so on this bright sunny morning.....

Is cleaning the house a great thing?
I'm not thinking so but it's got to be done!

Thanks for stopping by & have a terrific day!

With Sympathy..

Hello & Happy Saturday!

The card i'm sharing today is one that was inspired by Connie Babbert. She made a pretty birthday card with a beautiful color combination. I changed up the colors, the layout and the occasion.

 With Sympathy Card:

Stamps: Butterfly Basics, Rose Wonder Bundle
Ink: Mossy Meadow, Blackberry Bliss
Cardstock: Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, English Garden DSP
Accessories: Chalk Talk Framelits, Wide Oval Punch, Itty Bitty Butterfly Punch, Mossy Meadow & Blackberry Bliss Satin Ribbon, Blackberry Bliss Thick Twine, Small White Pearls, Dimensionals, Tombow Liquid Glue

I do love the colors but sadly they will be retiring at the end of May.
It's a good thing that I stocked up on the cardstock & accessories before their gone!

That is all I have for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a terrific day!

Butterfly Basics

Hello & Happy Friday!

So happy the weekend is upon us but i've been a bit under the weather the last few days. I hope soon I get to feeling better.

Today I wanted to share more cards made with the beautiful Butterfly Basics set & matching Thinlits. I love using this set and the Thinlits cut out the butterflies so nicely!

My customer requested more butterfly cards and wanted them left blank, inside & out so she could use these for any occasion. I really like the color combo and these could be used for a man or a woman!

Butterfly Card Set:

Cardstock: Neenah White, Baked Brown Sugar, Lost Lagoon

I had a call yesterday from my good customer, Audrey, asking if she could order a few packs of cards. She loves cards with butterflies on them so I got to work on them right away!

I am trying to use up some DSP packs that only have a piece or 2 left in them. This paper is from SaleABration 2015, called Best Year Ever DSP. I love the prints & colors in that pack!

I'm sure my customer is going to love this pack!
This little butterfly die is probably my favorite of all the butterfly dies! I love how dainty it is!

More Butterfly Basics Cards....

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Just a quick post today then heading down to stamp a bit this afternoon.
They are calling for bad storms here in south central PA today and tomorrow. I'm hoping we don't lose power. Last evening we did not have any storms but they were in parts of the area and we lost power for about 15 minutes. Not fun when it's hot & humid outside and you lose your air conditioning! Air conditioning is one thing I do not take for granted!!

Anyways, today I just wanted to share a card order that I whipped up my a customer, Audrey. She loves the Butterfly Basics stamp set and asked for the butterfly in blues.

This set was quick & easy to crank out because there were no layers. I did use my Stamp A Ma Jig to get my sentiment on straight.  I stamped my little butterfly in Marina Mist which is one of my favorite blue colors. Then I used the Butterflies Thinlits Dies to cut it out. Used Tombow Liquid Multi Purpose Glue to attach my butterfly, added 3 white pearls to the butterfly and finished up with  my piece of whisper white cardstock to the inside and called this set done. Audrey was very pleased with them! :)

Blue Butterflies Card Set:

Stamps: Butterfly Basics, Sweet Essentials (retired)
Ink: Pear Pizzazz, Marina Mist
Cardstock: Sahara Sand, Whisper White
Accessories: Butterflies Thinlit Dies, Stamp A Ma Jig, White Pearls, Tombow Liquid Multi Purpose Glue

That's all for me today, friends!
Off to get crafty this afternoon as long as the power stays on!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Gatefold Butterfly Cards

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Just a quick update this morning then I need to get my day started.
Unfortunately, I was up bright & early today because the hubby was snoring terribly and I just could not sleep thru that plus having the 2 dogs in between us was not helping. I will be grabbing a nap this afternoon for sure or this will be one grouchy mama.

So, this set of cards i'm sharing today was for an order for my customer, Audrey! She wanted some butterfly cards in blues. I was looking to make them different so I made them into a gatefold and I couldn't love them anymore! I hated to hand them over to her! LOL

Butterfly Cards:

Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Ink: Lost Lagoon
Cardstock: Lost Lagoon, Hello Honey, Whisper White, Moonlight DSP
Accessories: Butterfly Thinlits, Hexagon Punch (used to make banner flag), White Pearls, Hello Honey Baker's Twine (from SaleABration 2015), Glue Dot, Tombow Liquid Multi Purpose Glue

Hope you like these! I am a huge fan of the Butterfly Basics Bundle from the Occasions Mini Catalog. Thankfully, they were carried over into the new Stampin Up Catalog that went live this past Tuesday. If you do not have this set yet......you really do need it! It makes some beautiful cards and those matching butterfly dies are wonderful!

That's all I have for today!
Thanks for stopping by & enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Color Challenge 530

Hello & Happy Thursday!

So sorry for the lack of updates this last week. Kirsten, Brad & the 2 Jack Russells (Shady & Rosco) moved in last Thursday and it's be quite an adjustment for us all. Even though she is our daughter, it's still taking some getting use to living with 2 more people under one roof. Things are getting better though and we made it thru the first week...5 more to go!

I sat down this afternoon and did some crafting. After a few days absence I always have a hard time getting back into the swing of stamping again. I had a few challenges I wanted to play along with.
Today is Tuesday's Color Challenge from over at SCS.

Here are the colors:

Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, Baked Brown Sugar, Pistachio Pudding & Strawberry Slush

I already had the Strawberry Slush butterfly cut out so I went with that color & Pistachio Pudding for my 2 colors. I really think I need to try another color combo from that group of colors. That is probably one of the prettiest set of In Colors ever! I know i'm surely going to miss them!

Color Challenge 530 Card:

Stamps: Butterfly Basics
Ink: Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Pink Pirouette, Smoky Slate, Memento Black
Cardstock: Strawberry Slush, Pistachio Pudding, Whisper White
Accessories: Butterfly Thinlits Dies, White Pearls, Tombow Liquid Multi Purpose Glue

Well, that's all for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

The directions are also over on Splitcoaststampers in the tutorial section if interested in making this type of card.

I finally used my Butterfly Basics stamp set with coordinating thinlits and just love it! I have had this set since maybe February and finally inked it up! Such a fun stamp set with nice sentiments!

Hope you like my card today!
