The Paper Players Challenge #449

Hello & Happy Friday!

I'm glad the weekend is here!

Today I have a card to share that I made for the Paper Players Challenge this week!
It stumped me at first and made me think a bit.
I was going to make a card with a crab on it since I love to go crabbing at the bay during the summer.
It was a favorite thing to do every summer when we went to the beach.
But is crabbing a water sport?
So, I grabbed my Sail Away boat and made a masculine card!
I'm always in need of masculine cards!

Here is the challenge and my samples....

The Come Sail Away DSP is perfect for this challenge!
I used the retired Sail Away stamp as my focal image and took my blender pen and pulled some of that Night of Navy ink onto the image where there is shading.
My sentiment is from A Good Man set. I punched that with the Classic Label Punch (LOVE THAT THING) and I popped it up with 2 mini dimensionals.
Lastly, I added my anchor from the Sail Away Trinkets and tied a bow with Whisper White Twine.

Card Details:

Stamps: Sail Away (retired), A Good Man
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Come Sail Away DSP
Accessories: Circle Layering Framelits, Classic Label Punch, Sail Away Trinkets, White Twine, Blender Pen, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Still think I should have made the crab card! LOL
But i'm happy with my card in the end and that's all that matters!
Hope you like it too!

Relax Your Way

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday!

A late start for me this morning!
The last few days have been busy and it was catching up with me.
My back is bothering me after bathing my dogs on Sunday and yesterday I proceeded to do my house cleaning. I was ready for bed by 7 last evening and headed there shortly after.
It was still light outside but that didn't matter.
My body had enough...

Today I have a cool masculine card to share using some of the Come Sail Away DSP.
I love to mix old with new and that's what I did with this one....

Of course, the DSP is new but the main image is from many years ago called Sail Away.
It's one of my most loved masculine stamps and goes beautifully with this pack of paper!
Do you see that I used those gorgeous Stitched Nested Dies?
They are amazing!
My sentiment comes from the A Good Man stamp set.
It was stamped with Night of Navy ink and punched out with the Classic Label Punch.
My sailboat was also stamped in Night of Navy and I took a SU Blender Pen and took the ink around in certain areas to show the shading. That was a tip I learned from Debbie Henderson recently.

Card Details:

Stamps: Sail Away (retired), A Good Man
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Whisper White, Come Sail Away DSP
Accessories: Stitched Nested Dies, Classic Label Punch, Silver Metallic Enamel Dots, Blender Pen, Mini Dimensionals, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I know recently I have gotten quite a few new stamps but I always love to add in my old stamps as well. Sometimes the older stamps are exactly what we need for that special card/project!

Sailing Away

Hello & Happy Friday!

This morning we woke up to sunshine and I hope it continues thru this holiday weekend!
As I have said in previous blog posts, we have been dealing with lots of gloomy, rainy days and with it being Memorial Day weekend, i'm hoping for some warm days with lots of sunshine!

Anyways, today I have a card to share that I made for fun.
I have always loved the Marina Mist color but have found over the last few years it was one of those colors that I rarely reached for. Today I paired it with a retired stamp called Sail Away.

Sometimes I struggle with putting together color combinations and I fall back on making monochromatic cards but I really like how the Marina Mist looks on this. Some of my stamped images I stamped off on scrap paper to give my color a lighter look!

It's Your Day Card:

Stamps: Sail Away (retired), Sunburst Sayings
Ink: Marina Mist
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Marina Mist 12 x 12 Paper Stack (retired)
Accessories: Circle Nestibilities, Classic Label Punch, Marina Mist 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

This turned out to be a great masculine card which was fun to create!
