Gift Bags

Hello & Happy Sunday!
Yesterday was a very hot & humid day. It really felt like summer!
My ac was cranked on since Friday afternoon so it stayed cool inside but outside it was blah!
While I am glad for the warmer weather....I am not a fan of the humidity. Double blah!

So, yesterday my friends came over for a stamp get together.
We try to get together once a month to make cards.
I enjoy it so much!
Earlier this week I picked up some gift bags at the Dollar Tree, 3 for $1. Can't beat that!
I decorated them and put a tag on each so they would have something to take their cards home in.

Aren't they pretty?
The paper on the bag comes from the Garden Impressions DSP pack.
I layered some Shaded Spruce under it which I have come to really LIKE!
For the tag I used the roses from the Abstract Impressions stamp set. I used Melon Mambo and did some stamping off on the under layers and full strength for the more detailed stamp on top. My little dots came from the Painted Harvest set. The sentiment comes from the Southern Serenade stamp set. I tied some retired Thick Melon Mambo on my tag and attached it to my bags with Dimensionals. I forgot to mention that I punched the top of my tag with the retired Ornate Tag Topper Punch which is also retired.

Project Details:

Stamps: Abstract Impressions, Painted Harvest, Southern Serenade
Ink: Melon Mambo, Shaded Spruce, Petal Pink
Cardstock: Shaded Spruce, Whisper White, Garden Impressions DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Ornate Tag Topper Punch, Thick Melon Mambo Twine, Melon Mambo Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Liquid Glue

I was so happy with these that I think I will try to decorate all my bags from now on....that is IF I have time. The girls loved them and all of the cards they made. I guess now it's time to start designing for our next get together which will probably be after July 4th! Can't wait!

Gift Bag Toppers

Hello & Happy Monday!

A rainy one here this morning with some chilly air too!
I think over the last few days we have felt that taste of winter.
Yesterday we were out & about and it was odd having to wear a heavy winter coat.
I even seen some black furry caterpillars last week on the back porch.

Anyways, today I will be back at my stamp table getting a few more projects ready for a stamp day with the girls but before I head off to get my day started I want to share a project that I made for my customer with her last order. I always take her goodies to her in a big gift bag and I started putting toppers on them. I learned to make these years & years ago at a stamp function that my BFF, Deb & I attended. I forgot how to dress up a simple gift bag until I ran across mine in the bottom of a stamp drawer. My customer loved the topper and asked for 3 so she could use them for gifts.

Color Me Autumn DSP & Cajun Craze CS.

Painted Autumn DSP & Crushed Curry CS.

Delightful Daisy DSP & Daffodil Delight CS.

These bags require a full sheet of cardstock folded in half. I cut out a notch on the score line so it will go over top of the handles on the gift bag. I usually just lay it beside the bag and make marks on either side of the handles so I know where to cut. I make the cut with my Stampin' Up Paper Trimmer for a nice even cut. Then I add my Designer Series Paper (DSP) and decorate. These are all made with Stampin' Up DSP's and the sentiment comes from a set called Thoughtful Branches. Each bag has a Stitched Shape Circle cutout and layered onto a Circle Layering scallop. Each has an enamel dot added along with a bow. These are fun and something quite different and can really dress up a gift bag!

Gift Bag Tag

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!
We had such amazing weather here!
I wish it could have lasted forever but unfortunately the clouds & rain are back today!

Today I have a project to share that I made up for my customer as a Thank You for her card order.
I found this yellow gift bag in my stash and thought that it would go perfectly with the new Daisy Delight stamp set & matching punch.

I know the pictures aren't the best. I already gave the bag to my customer so I could not take anymore pictures.

I love this new stamp set and best thing of all, it comes with a matching punch! I sometimes prefer the punches over the framelits because of how quick & easy it is to punch something out. I also love that the stamp set is photopolymer and you can see they it for perfect placement!

Gift Bag Tag:

Stamps: Daisy Delight, One Big Meaning
Ink: Early Espresso, Old Olive, Crushed Curry
Cardstock: Whisper White, Crushed Curry
Accessories: Two Tags Bigz Die, Circle & Scallop Circle Punches, Amuse Crinkle Ribbon (on bag), Whisper White Baker's Twine, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Dynamic Duos Color Challenge #22

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Hope your all enjoying your weekend so far!
It's been a busy one around the Aungst Pad today! Woke way too early for a Saturday morning but someone had to be up to make sure Kelsey got up for work! Then I moved on to laundry, breakfast, straightening up and running the vaccum! You know the saying, "A mother's work is NEVER done"! After all that was done, I checked out the Dynamic Duos Blog to see what this week's colors were and headed downstairs to play!

Here is this week's colors & my samples......
 My color choice is......Gumball Green!!!

I have been decorating some gift bags for the holidays and when I seen today's challenge I reached for this Be Of Good Cheer DSP ! It's so pretty & very festive! I don't have much left! I was gonna attach a card or tag onto the handles of the bag but sometimes they just get ripped off by accident so I did something different. I attached the card/tag directly to the bag. I made a few like this in the past couple of weeks which I will share once it gets closer to the holidays but I really like the card/tag directly on the front because then you do not have to worry about it getting toren off or lost. I also thought about adding a paper bow but again I was afraid it would get smashed or toren off.

DD#22 Gift Bag & Card/Tag:

Stamps: Chock Full of Cheer, Christmas Punch
Ink: Cherry Cobbler
Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green, Very Vanilla, Be of Good Cheer DSP
Accessories: SU Scallop Oval Punch, MS Pine Needle Border Punch, Gumball Green Ribbon, Frosted Glass Rhinestones, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

Well, that is all for today!
Heading out soon on a surprise evening out with Amy, Edgar & baby Dominic. They are treating Shawn & I to an evening out for all the babysitting we've been doing for them. I have no idea what the surprise is. Was told to dress warm and bring a flashlight!! LOL

Thanks for stopping by & have a great weekend!

Kelsey picked out the paper and we went from there with the colors.

She loved it when it was finished!
I'm anxious to hear how Stevie will like it!

Free 4 All Challenge 61 & Jen's Challenge #2

Hello again!

I've been trying to get today's challenge upload over at SCS but I think their having some issues today. So, i'll get my blog started.

Today's Free 4 All Challenge #61 over at SCS is to use your orange on your project and since my friend back home, Jen Nevil and I have been doing some challenges between us it all worked out perfectly! I made a bag topped that works for both challenges. I used Pumpkin Pie as my orange for the Free 4 All #61 and then I used the Poppy stamp from the Punch Bunch set that was the challenge between Jen & I. Her card can be seen here.

This is also set #61 on my quest to see that all my stamps see ink in 2011.
Hope you like!!

Free 4 All Challenge #61 & Jen's Challenge #2:

Stamps: Punch Bunch SAB'11 (set #61)
