My thoughts today....

Can't believe we are already at the last day of May!
Time is just passing by so quickly!
Hopefully today we get some sunshine!
Our local weather said that we've only had 11 "full" days of sunshine so far this year!
No wonder I feel sunshine deprived!!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a really great day!

Falling For You Card Set

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Well, we survived the holiday weekend!
Of course, there was nothing much happening here since my hubby worked! I was bored out of my mind to be quite honest and just did not have the mojo to go stamp anything!
Here in Pennsylvania it has rained darn near everyday with pops of sunshine here & there just enough to tease you then came the showers again.
They are saying it will be another week or so of this showery stuff  and today we're under the gun for some strong storms to come thru later on but in the meantime...yep, you guessed it, more showers!!

Today I have one last set of cards to share that I made for my customers last order.
She loved the butterfly paper from the Falling for You dsp  and asked if I could add a doily and a simple Thinking of You sentiment.
I can do that!!!

I apologize for the colors being wonky in these pictures. Like I said, it's been gloomy here and it doesn't help that my stamp room is in the basement. I used Soft Sky, Tip Top Taupe & Very Vanilla on these.

Thinking of You Card Set:

Stamps: Handwritten Hello's (retired)
Ink: Tip Top Taupe
Cardstock: Soft Sky, Tip Top Taupe, Very Vanilla, Falling for You DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Lacy Doily, Soft Sky 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dots, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

These are super pretty in real life! Just love those colors and the lacy doily!

Happy Memorial Day!

Hello & Happy Monday!

It's the start of the summer season here but also a day to remember those who have fought for our freedom and the ones who gave their lives for this country.

Please take a moment out of your day to remember...

Ah-chooooo Tissue Box

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Yesterday I spent some time at my stamp table since my hubby is working this entire holiday weekend..not by his choice. I spent quite a few hours down in my stamp room crafting away then I moved on to doing some cleaning of the family/craft room. My sweeper then started to give me a fit so that ended quickly! My hubby got home in time for supper but then got a call to go right back to work. This is the 2nd time this week he had to turn around and go back because something was not working. I really hate to complain but this job is going to be the death of him!

Anyways.....

Last Friday I watched a video of Angie Juda (ChicNScratch) where she made this box and I had to give it a try!
The link can be found here on her blog.
Thank you Angie for sharing this neat project! Always an inspiration!

The soft tissue packs are made by Kleenex and sold at the Dollar Tree. They come in variety of different colors. I love the different saying that are on each pack!

Tissue Box:

Stamps: Under the Weather (retired)
Ink: Pacific Point
Cardstock: Pacifif Point, Whisper White, Balloom Adventures DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, 1;' Circle Punch, Flourishing Phrases Framelits, Pacific Point Satin Ribbon, White Pearls, Dimensinals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

So much fun to make!
I will share the rest that I made later this week.

Pretty Kitty HB

Hello & Happy Saturday!

My customer asked for a birthday card with a cat on it.
I pulled out some retired Cheerful Treat DSP from SaleABration 2011 and a current stamp set called Pretty Kitty.
This is what I made.

Since I am not good with coloring I just stamped my image in a solid color and left it at that.

HB Kitty Card:

Stamps: Pretty Kitty, Balloon Adventures (sentiment)
Ink: Concord Crush
Cardstock: Concrod Crush, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Cheerful Treat DSP (SAB 2011)
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Scalloped Circle Nestibilities, Word Window & Modern Label Punches, Melon Mambo 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Rhinestones, Glue Dot, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

There are alot of cute images in the Pretty Kitty set that I love!
I need to use this set more often but most times I reach for an oldie but goodie set called Meow Meow!
That set has been used hard over the years!

Yes, my thoughts again today.....

When will it ever stop????

That is all for today!
Thanks for popping in!
Enjoy the holiday weekend!

Sailing Away

Hello & Happy Friday!

This morning we woke up to sunshine and I hope it continues thru this holiday weekend!
As I have said in previous blog posts, we have been dealing with lots of gloomy, rainy days and with it being Memorial Day weekend, i'm hoping for some warm days with lots of sunshine!

Anyways, today I have a card to share that I made for fun.
I have always loved the Marina Mist color but have found over the last few years it was one of those colors that I rarely reached for. Today I paired it with a retired stamp called Sail Away.

Sometimes I struggle with putting together color combinations and I fall back on making monochromatic cards but I really like how the Marina Mist looks on this. Some of my stamped images I stamped off on scrap paper to give my color a lighter look!

It's Your Day Card:

Stamps: Sail Away (retired), Sunburst Sayings
Ink: Marina Mist
Cardstock: Marina Mist, Whisper White, Marina Mist 12 x 12 Paper Stack (retired)
Accessories: Circle Nestibilities, Classic Label Punch, Marina Mist 1/8 Taffeta Ribbon, Glue Dots, Dimensionals, 2 Sided Tape

This turned out to be a great masculine card which was fun to create!

Colon Cancer Cards

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Another very rainy day on tap here today!
Sounds like the perfect day to stay inside in our PJ's!

So, have you seen the cancer cards I made and posted this past Saturday?
They were made for my customer who requested them for 2 priests that have been diagnosed with Colon Cancer. Only problem is.....I made them in the wrong color!!! Opps!
Something told me to Google the cancers and the color ribbons that represent them and I am not sure where I came up with the purple ribbon but i'm glad I caught that before I sent my customer her order.
The actual color ribbon for Colon Cancer is Dark Blue and I went with Night of Navy for these cards.

This card I used the word "Hope" to create some patterned paper by stamping all over.
Of course, I used my Stamp A Ma Jig to make the words line up perfectly!
I like the look of it!

Colon Cancer Cards:

Stamps: Hope (retired)
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Night of Navy, Whisper White
Accessories: White Pearls, Stamp A Ma Jig, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Which card do you like better?

Country/Rustic Style Anniversary Card

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Another gloomy day here in south central PA. Today will make the 4th day in a row.
I am in need of some sunshine to help motivate me to get my housework done.
My hubby is back to work today and his schedule is looking crazy busy for the next 2 weeks.

Anyways, my customer asked me to make a special card for her daughter's upcoming anniversary. She wanted something with an oil can on. I think this image could be used as an oil can. It comes from an old set called Thoughts of Father from 2008.

The story behind the oil can is that her daughter had cleaned out a bunch of old oil cans that her father had in the garage from years ago.She cleaned them up and planted flowers in them and sat them outside this spring and my customer said they looked so nice.
I thought about this for a few days and went with something rustic with using this cool patterned paper that I picked up at Hobby Lobby a few months ago. I stamped my image & sentiment in Soft Suede and added a pop of color with the Calypso Coral flower beside the sentiment. I think the Linen Thread wrapped up the country/rustic card nicely.

Happy Anniversary Card:

Stamps: Timeless Love (sentiment), Thoughts of Father (2008)
Ink: Soft Suede
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, The Paper Studio DSP (Hobby Lobby)
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, SU Flower Punch, White Pearl, Linen Thread, Glue Dot, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I hope my customer likes this as much as I do!

My thoughts today.....

It just so happens i'm having taco's tonight for supper!
LOL

That's all for today!
Off to get my housework started.

Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Cool Treats On A Rainy Day...

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!

It's another rainy, gloomy morning here in PA. If anyone is liking it, it is probably my flowers that I finally got planted. It really dresses up the porches to have some fresh colorful flowers out there!
My hubby is still on vacation and has done very well picking up on sleeping in which is something he hardly ever does anymore. He talked about going fishing while on his short vacation but has not done so because it's been cool & windy here. Not sure what's going on with Mother Nature but I hope she soon brings back some sunshine & temps in the 70's!

So, today I have a card set made with a stamp set that I had in my collection since January called Cool Treats. I was actually waiting till warmer weather to ink it up and since we had 3 days of 90 degree weather last week....I made sure to get it inked up!

My customer requests cards quite a bit that do not have a saying on.
Sometimes that throws me off but I am getting use to it. She told me one day why she likes them without a saying on it and I guess I never really thought about it. She told me that she likes to have these types of cards on hand to send out for a last minute thank you or a birthday. She had a friend come visit her and they decided to go get ice cream. She wanted to send a card to the friend to thank her for that fun trip to get ice cream because it made her day! The Cool Treats set is a great choice for making a fun card! It's a shame that I waited so long to ink it up!

Cool Treats Card Set:

Stamps: Cool Treats
Ink: Crumb Cake, Soft Suede, Watermelon Wonder
Cardstock: Watermelon Wonder, Whisper White, Cool Treats Specialty DSP
Accessories: Lil Inker's Stitched Rectangle Dies, Mini Paper Clip, Watermelon Wonder Lacy Ribbon, Whisper White Baker's Twine, 2 Sided Tape, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

My thoughts today.....

I think we are in for another week of rain showers possibly thru the Memorial Day weekend.
All I have to say about that is......blah!

That's all I have for today.
Thanks for stopping by & have yourself a great day!

Cancer Cards

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Yesterday was a busy but successful day around the Aungst Pad.
The power washing is done and looks great too! I ran to the store and picked up some flowers and got those planted in pots on my back porch. Today I have a few errands to run then hopefully we can get some tree branches and such burned. We have a huge pile that has been waiting for the right weather to burn them. Our weather has changed drastically in the last 12 hours! It's much more comfortable outside (almost a bit nippy) and cloudy this morning. The AC is now off. It has ran for the last 3 days straight.

Anyways, my cards to share today are by customer request. She knows 2 priests that have been diagnosed with Cancer and are currently receiving treatment....

I kept these very simple but did use a few layers. Nothing fancy! In the center of the ribbons I added a small white pearl.

 Cancer Cards:

Stamps: Hope
Ink: Elegant Eggplant
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant, Whisper White
Accessories: Small White Pearls, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Graduation 2017

Hello & Happy Friday!

Busy day ahead with the hubs since he is on vacation!
Today we are going to power wash both the front & back porches and possibly get some flowers planted, I think or should I say- I hope we are safe from any frost or freeze warnings!

Today I have a quick card to share that I made for any upcoming graduations.
It's that time of year where colleges & high schools are having their graduations so I whipped these up today using lots of Dapper Denim!

I don't know why I decided to make these in Dapper Denim but I love this color!

Congrats Grad Cards:

Stamps: Blue Ribbon (retired)
Ink: Dapper Denim
Cardstock: Dapper Denim, Whisper White, 2016-2017 In Color DSP Stack
Accessories: Large Number Framelits, Circle & Scallop Circle Nestibilities, Lucky Stars EF, Dapper Denim Ruched Ribbon, Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Well, guess i'd better get off of here and help Shawn with taking stuff off the porches!
Going to be another hot one....blah!
Some days I sure wish I still had a swimming pool!
