Season's Greetings

Hello & Happy Thursday!

By now i'm sure most of you are all in the midst of Christmas and preparing for the big day! It's not really been too crazy here but yet it has been! Cleaning, baking and planning a menu for our Christmas Eve with Shawn's family has me on edge! I have an order for a bunch of gift card/money holders and i've still not made my way downstairs to stamp since the weekend. I hope to be able to do that soon as Christmas is 3 days away!

Today, i'm sharing with you these little treat bags I did manage to get made over the weekend. I wanted a little something to slip into the mailbox for our very nice mail lady or a couple of friends that may pop in over the holidays. I used some scrap pieces of designer paper and ran it thru the Cuttlebug with my SU Top Note Die. Scored those in half. Then, I added a Circle & Circle Scallop with my sentiment stamped on. These are adhered on with dimensionals. I added a holly/snowflake sticker from Jolee's to the sentiment panel and attached it to a small SU cello bag with 3 Snickers's in it. I attached the topped to the bag with staples and called them done! Very cute & simple to make!!

Season's Greeting Treat Bags:

Stamps: Hero Arts
Ink: Memento Black
Cardstock: unknown DSP, Neenah White, Garden Green, Real Red
Accessories: Circle & Circle Scallop Nestibilities, SU Top Note Die, Stickers from Jolee's, Dimensionals, Small Cello Bags, Rhinestones from Micheal's, Scor Tape

Well, that's all I have for today!
Not sure what will be on the agenda today as my hubby was suppose to have the day off but since the one line at work has been giving them issues for the last few days, he had to go into work this morning. If he's there all day I may try to get those gift cards made IF another distraction doesn't come about. Yesterday, Fluffy had a really bad Syncope episode so I spent most of the day sitting around with her to get her to calm down. Syncope is something that people deal with as well. She has been having these Syncope episodes since she was 9 and next month she'll be 14. When we were given this diagnosis we were told she was healthy but needed to get extra weight off of her and these episodes would subside. We've walked her everyday in Joplin and got her down to about 19 pounds but she is still having these spells. I always ask if other people's dog's have ever had these and so far I have not heard anyone else having this problem. I think we are gonna look for a new Vet here in our area and get another opinion on what's going on with her soon. Yesterday scared Kelsey to tears so I think it is something that needs to be addressed with a new Vet soon.

Thank you all for stopping by & I wish you all a wonderful day!
Happy Holidays, friends!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a great weekend! Mine was busy and I did find some time to stamp a bit but did not get around to updating the blog until tonight.

I have not participated in an Our Creative Corner Challenge for quite some time and Saturday Shawn worked so I decided to check it out! Anne Marie is the hostess this week and decided on a Color Challenge with lots of sparkle! I love sparkle and decided to play along! Below is the colors for the challenge and my sample....

I'm done with making Christmas cards as of now but I do need to work on a few money cards & gift cards in the next couple of days!

On this card I broke out a mitten die that I had for months from Amuse Stamps and cut it out with some red felt. I added a MS white snowflake with a pink rhinestone in the center. I used my SU Scallop Edge Punch on some glittery paper from Micheal's and added some Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon. I used my Snow Burst EF on the Pink CS that was adhered to my Bashful Blue card base. The sentiment comes from a SU set and I punched that with the Word Window punch and layered it on top of a piece of glittery paper that was punched with the Modern Label punch. Quick & easy and makes a cute card!

Our Creative Corner Challenge Card:

Stamps: Christmas Classics Sentiment
Ink: Real Red
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink, Glitter Paper from Micheal's, Neenah White
Accessories: Amuse Mitten Die, Red Felt, SU Snow Burst EF., SU Word WIndow & Modern Label Punches, SU Scallop Edge Punch, MS Snowflake Punch, Bashful Blue Taffeta Ribbon, Pink Rhinestones from Micheal's, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for today!
Thanks for stopping by!
Happy Holidays!

Pine Cones 2011

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Today i'm sharing a project I made for my stamp girls. Last night we had our Stamp Girls Christmas Get Together at Chili's. We had such a good time and no alcohol was involved! LOL
We ate then exchanged gifts. When it was my turn to hand out my gifts I watched each one open their bags and the looks on their faces were priceless! They all loved their Pine cones! I have to give a ton of credit to my friend, Vicki Burdick, for all her help, advice and the push to get these made for my girls! She made me 2 last year for Christmas and I just loved them and she pushed for me to make these for my girls this year!
Thanks again, Vicki!!

So, today i'm gonna share with you the first 3 and tomorrow I will share the other 3.
Take a look....

This one was for Sista Karen...

This one was for Deb R.....

This one was made for Miss Emily....

Hope ya like them!
I'm so proud of them and love how each one is a little different.
I will be making many more!!

Well, that's all for today!
Make sure you stop back again tomorrow for the other 3!

White Chocolate Snack Mix 2011

Hello & Happy Monday!!

Hope everyone had a great weekend.
Friday we had Shawn's mom's funeral services to attend. Always hard saying that final goodbye! They had a really nice service for her and a luncheon afterwards at a local church. It was great to see his sisters and our nieces & nephews!

After that we just kinda mellowed out this weekend and did some shopping. Saturday I was able to pick up my craft show stuff that was left over. We did very well again this year! Each year we worry with the economy not being good and each year it seems to get better! I'm thankful for that!

So, last Thursday I made my yearly White Chocolate Snack Mix. I used the coffee bags from PTI and stamped the bags with Crystal Snowflakes from Amuse. I used Stampin Up's Two Tags Die for my tag and added a big snowflake that came from Micheal's and a red rhinestone to the center. The sentiment was stamped and punched out with the Lg Oval Punch and layered onto some red cardstock that is punched with the Scallop Oval Punch. I attached the tag to the bag with a small clothes pin that had a small snowflake glued on with a green rhinestone.

Love this Snack Mix and I love these bags! I'm excited to hand them out for the holidays!

White Chocolate Snack Mix Bags:

Stamps: Crystal Snowflakes from Amuse
Ink: Real Red, Glorious Green
Cardstock: Real Red, Glorious Green, Neenah White
Accessories: PTI Coffee Bags (Med), Stampin Up Two Tags Die, Lg Oval & Scallop Oval Punches, PTI White Button, White Glittery Snowflake from Micheal's, Hobby Lobby Snowflake Punch, Red & Green Rhinestones, Wooden Clothes Pin, Hot Glue, Scor Tape

Holiday Candy Bars

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Hope your all having a great day so far!
I'm off to a slow start after being up very late last nite working on a project for all my stamp girls. We have our Christmas get together next Wednesday and my projects are very time consuming so any chance I get to work on them i'll take! By 3 am my eyes started to get all wonky and I called it a day!

So, today I wanted to share with you these Candy Bar Wrappers I made yesterday for the craft show. This weekend is the last and I was informed that there wasn't many left and I hurried and whipped a couple up before dropping the last of my stuff off last nite. Thankfully, I already had the images colored!!

These are one of my biggest sellers at the show!!

Holiday Candy Bar Wrappers:

Stamps: Santa Sophie from Riley & Company, Snowman from Stamps Happen, Sentiments from Hero Arts
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Real Red, Neenah White, Amuse DSP
Accessories: SU Circle & Scallop Punches, Glue Pen, Glitter, Various Ribbon, Jolee's Stickers & Snowflakes, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for today!
Gonna try to get my White Chocolate Snack Mix made this afternoon before my older daughter gets here. She is coming up from Virginia for tomorrow's funeral services for Shawn's mom. Funeral's are a very hard thing for me and i'm so not looking forward to this. It will be nice though to see the rest of the family, just wish it could be under different circumstances.

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Sketch Challenge 362

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope your all having a great day & staying warm!
It's another rainy, dreary day here and the cold temperatures are heading east later today with some snow on the back side of the cold front. I hope this cold spell is short lived but then again I guess we have been spoiled by temps in the 50's & 60's here lately!

Anyways, besides being a rainy day, I have declared today a stay in my pj's kind of day! And what better to do than stamp in my pj's!!

Today is Sketch Challenge day over at SCS. Below is the layout and my sample!

I so love this snowman stamp from Stamps Happen. I have had him for a few years. Last year I found this designer paper by The Paper Studio in Joplin and it was .10 cents for an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet. I only grabbed a few sheets and i'm now down to my last sheet which I really DO NOT WANNA CUT! I have not been able to find anymore, sadly! It makes such a pretty holiday card too!

Sketch Challenge 362 Card:

Stamps: Snowman from Stamps Happen, Sentiment from Penny Black
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Marina Mist, PTI White, Glitter Paper from Micheal's, The Paper Studio DSP
Accessories: Marina Mist Grosgrain, Jolee's Snowflake Sticker, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for me for today!
I hope ya like my card....
Thanks for stopping by & have a wonderful day!

Color Challenge 352

Hello & Happy Tuesday!!

It's Color Challenge day over at SCS! The colors are: Real Red, Very Vanilla & Wild Wasabi! I say bring on the Christmas cards! LOL

I knew exactly what I wanted to do as soon as I seen the challenge this morning. I pulled out my pack of retired SU paper called Dashing and added my Dasher reindeer to the card. My designer paper is cut in different shapes from previous projects so I just kept them as is. I cut my Dasher image out with the Oval & Oval Scalloped Nestibilties and used some retired Wild Wasabi ribbon. Hot glued a bow on and added some gold beads and called it done! This came together very fast which is something that hardly ever happens for me!

Color Challenge 352 Card:

Stamps: Dasher (set #115)
Ink: Real Red
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Real Red, Dashing DSP (retired)
Accessories: Oval & Oval Scalloped Nestibilities, Wild Wasabi Grosgrain, Hot Glue Gun, Gold Beads, Scor Tape

Also wanted to give you an update on Shawn's mom. Her services are Friday morning. I think today it finally hit me that she is gone. I hope that she is in a much better place and pain free. I'm thankful to have had 21 years of being her daughter in law and she will be greatly missed...

Well, that's all from the Aungst residence today!
It's been a rainy, dreary one here and suppose to get some chilly temps tomorrow nite with a splash of snow. I guess it is December, huh?

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

M&M Christmas Balls

Hello & Happy Sunday!

Hope your all having a great weekend! Yesterday we celebrated my son's 25th birthday with a requested supper that consisted of crab legs & steamed shrimp! It sure was yummy! We ended the day about midnight with chocolate cake w/ peanut butter icing & ice cream! LOL It was a good day indeed!

Today, i'm sharing with you these M&M Christmas balls that I have been picking at the last few days. Finally completed and now maybe I can move on to something else! :)
I got the bottles at Walmart and they usually only sell these durning the holidays. They are round Coke bottles. I emptied them, washed the bottles and let dry. Spray painted the lids with Krylon Metallic Spray Paint. Added a thin strip of M&M designer paper around the widest width of the bottle and hot glued it on. Then I added the sentiment which was ran thru the Cuttlebug with my Circle Nestibilities. Popped it up and attached it on the bottle with dimensionals and added a beautiful Jolee's Holly sticker. Hot glued a bow on the lid and called them done!
I have collected these bottles for the last few years and had no clue what I was gonna do with them. This year the idea finally came to me! LOL
I love them!

Off to the craft show they go this week! :)

Happy Holidays!

Well, that's all for now!
Thank you for stopping by & have a great day!

Season's Greetings!

Hello & Happy Friday!

Hope your all having a great day so far!
We got some upsetting news last night that Shawn's mom had passed away. We knew she had been sick for years and that she was found lying in the street unconscious. Why or what happened yet, we do not know. We had not seen her in about a year and a half due to us moving away, then she moved to Virginia and recently came back as well. I was hoping over the holidays to see her and the rest of his family. Such a sad thing to happen especially at such a happy time of year....

Anyways, Shawn is home today with me so that means no stamping today until maybe later. Tomorrow him & his 2 sisters will go make some kind of arrangements for her. Hopefully, we'll have more answers then.

I did stamp this beautiful card the other day when I spent the day in my stamp room. I think i've become a huge fan of SU's Silver Glitter Paper! It packs such a punch and gives such sparkle to any project!

Isn't it purdy??

Season's Greetings Card:

Stamps: Scenic Season (set #114)
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Neenah White, SU Silver Glitter Paper
Accessories: Scallop Border Punch, Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for now!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

December 2011 Calendars!

Hello & Happy Thursday!
Oh and Happy December 1st!!!
Where has the year gone?? It's hard to believe that my 12 months of calendars are now complete. I had so much fun making these throughout the year! Certainly kept me on my toes as far as posting on the first day of each month! :)

First up is the calendar I made for my friend, Deb. Hopefully, this reminds her to hang her new calendar on the fridge! LOL I used My Favorite Things~ Pure Innocence Girls. I love this image! She is ready to get her holiday festivities rolling with her Christmas tree loaded up on her sled. I added some felt snowflakes to this with glitter brads in the centers.

The next calendar is mine that I made with the Magnolia line of Tilda's. I think this one was my very first Magnolia stamp! I used a Micheal's $1 stamp for the saying and added a beautiful poinsettia flower that I made with my Layered Poinsettia Die from Nestibilties! Oh, how I love this die!!! :)

Here is a close-up of Tilda. I added glitter to the white of her hat & cuffs on her coat.

Here is a close up of my poinsettia. I layered the flower on top of some retired gold metallic ribbon that SU used to sell. That was the last of my roll and how I wish SU would bring that back! One of my favorite things! :)

Well, that is all for today!
I hope you enjoyed my calendar updates throughout the past year! It was fun!!

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Sketch Challenge 361

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope your all having a great day! I have been crafting the afternoon away!
Today is Sketch Challenge day over at SCS.
Below is the layout and my samples.....

Align Center

I don't know why my pictures are so washed out or bright. One day i'll understand that camera of mine!

Anyways, I finally got my hands on some of those Spellbinder's Layered Poinsettia Dies and used them for my focal point on today's sketch. My cardbase is Always Artichoke layered with a piece of Kraft/Crumb Cake embossed with SU's Square Lattice EF. I then added my layered sheets of DSP from the Deck the Halls line. On top of that was a sheet of Always Artichoke and Kraft/Crumb Cake once again embossed and then my beautiful poinsettia layered (made with Cherry Cobbler cardstock) on top with 3 gold beads in the center. I added an already tied bow that was in my stash with some hot glue and called it finished. I truely love this one!!!

Sketch Challenge 361 Card:

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Kraft/Crumb Cake, Cherry Cobbler, Deck the Halls DSP
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF., Layered Poinsettia Nestibilities, Gold Beads, Ribbon, Hot Glue Gun, Scor Tape

Hope your liking it as much as me!

Well, that's all for now!
I may be back shortly with something else that i'm finishing up for the craft show! WooHoo!
Have a great day!

The Wild, Wild West

Hello again!

Last night I was just poking around on my computer and found this card that I had made last winter for a friend of our's who was in the hospital for a lengthy visit. Thankfully he pulled thru and is doing much better! I had taken the pictures of the card before I sent it out and never posted the card on here so since I think it deserves an honorable mention....here it is!

I used a really old and frankly, quite expensive set if you purchase it off of Ebay! It is a really nice masculine set and since the person who received the card loves "cowboy & western movies" I was immediately drawn to use it! :)

Align Center

I love the colors, dry embossing & my rope lasso that was made with some of SU's hemp twine. Every cowboy has to have one of those, right???

Get Well Wishes Card:

Stamps: Wild Wild West, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, Really Rust, GP White
Accessories: SU Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Modern Label & Word Window Punches, Rectangle & Scallop Rectangle Nestibities, Antique Brads, SU Hemp Twine, Hot Glue Gun, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Hope you like my version of the Wild, Wild West!
I'm off to do more stamping then get in the kitchen to make a turkey pie with all that leftover turkey! Mmmmmm! Gonna be a good warm supper tonight which is good with rain coming today!

Thanks for stopping by & have a terrific Tuesday!
