Color Challenge 320

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

Hope your all having a great day so far!
Yesterday, I took a break from stamping/blogging. It was a very stormy & rainy day here with heavy rains even tornado's south of us. My heart goes out to the people of Arkansas who are dealing with such devestation from those same storms we dealt with. We are in for more storms & rain tonight something we really do NOT need! Many roads flooded & closed around Missouri. Thankfully, all is well here at my place but not everyone has been that lucky.

Since the sun is shining, the first in quite a few days....I decided I needed to get to my stamp room to work on the Color Challenge plus i've been working on a few cards for a card order and in between doing some Christmas stuff. It helps to make my days go faster! :)

Today is Color Challenge day over at SCS and the colors are:
Bashful Blue, Baja Breeze and Certainly Celery.
I used another stamp set off my shelf called Always In My Thoughts. It is set #64.

Color Challenge 320 Card:

Stamps: Always In My Thoughts (set #64), Fine Lace Background
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers, Certainly Celery
Cardstock: Certainly Celery, Baja Breeze, Bashful Blue, PTI White
Accessories: Rectangle & Rectangle Scallop Nestibilities, SU Eyelet Border Punch, Certainly Celery Grosgrain, Glue Dot, Scor Tape

I did not add alot of layers or bulk to this. I'm trying to change that because of mailing issues. I hate a flat card but because of the cost i'm gonna try to change that....if I can! LOL

Ok, that's all for me for now!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Hello & Happy Sunday!

As your well aware of, I was having camera issues this week so hubby ran out to Walmart last night and got me a new camera for Easter! He knows I use my camera for lots of things and was kinda lost without it the last few days. Thank you, Buppie!! :)

So, this morning I got my pictures retaken of my easel card that Vicki from over at the Our Creative Corner Blog challenged us to make. I made an easel card way back when they first came out on the scene but it did not come out right so today was interesting to me on how easy they really are! I loved this challenge and i'm sure down the road you will see me make more of them now that I know how! Thanks Vicki!! :)

Bear with me on the camera issue. I don't take well to new things so a new camera will certainly be another learning process for me! LOL

Our Creative Corner Challenge~Easel Card:

Stamps: Thanks for Caring (set #63)
Ink: Always Artichoke
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, Baja Breeze, PTI Vanilla, Springtime Vintage DSP

Also i'd like to pass along a happy birthday wish to my friend here in Missouri, Vicki Burdick! Hope you have a great day!! :)

Well, that's all for now!
Gotta go get my potatoes peeled and a cookin for supper. The ham's smelling really good!
I'll be back later to share Shawn & Kelsey's Easter Treats I made them so stay tuned!

Have a wonderful day!

Hello & Happy Saturday!

I had a card all ready to go for my update tonight but my very old camera took some crappy pictures so I opted to wait until tomorrow when I get a better camera to retake the pictures and post it. In the mean time, i'll share these cute little treats I made and sent back home for Easter. I'm always picking up candy for almost all holidays so I took these peanut butter eggs & marshmellow eggs, placed them in a small SU cello bag and decorated a topper for them.

I also used another set off my shelf called Spring Gifts. It is set #62 in my quest to see that all my stamps see ink in 2011.

Ways To Use It Challenge 319

Hello & Happy Friday!

Well, yesterday I had every intention of posting my card for the Ways to Use It Challenge 319 but my camera died on me. So this morning I dug out my old one and got to work on taking pictures to catch up.

The Ways to Use It Challenge was themed "Ovalicious". We could use ovals or egg shaped Nestibilities for our cards. I fought tooth & nail to win a set of these egg nesties on Ebay a few months ago so I thought what a perfect excuse to use them! I made Kels & Shawn each alittle something for Easter which I will share on Easter Sunday so this card goes along with Shawn's little treat.

I also used set # 60 on my quest to see that all my sets see ink in 2011. This little cutie is called Chocolate Bunny and I think he's adorable!

Ways to Use It Challenge 319- Ovalicious Card:

Stamps: Chocolate Bunny
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Cardstock: Marina Mist, White, Marina Mist DSP
Accessories: Egg Shaped Nestibilities, Sheer White Ribbon, Pearl Brad, Marina Mist Grosgrain, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for now!
I will be back shortly to upload my project for today!

Thanks for stopping by!

Our Creative Corner Challenge

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Hope your all enjoying a nice weekend.
Hubby is out cleaning up Winky for a car show tomorrow here in Joplin he wants to attend and i'm doing some laundry while trying to figure out something to make with the spare ribs for supper! LOL Sometimes ya just run out of idea's!

Anyways, I got my project ready for today's Our Creative Corner Blog. Vicki is the hostess this week and she challenged us to make a 3D Easter Project. Absolutely no cards! I really wasn't into making a basket of any kind because I have so many baskets & clear pails in my stamp room from over the years that I have made the kids and once the candy is gone they hand it back to mom. I looked thru some of what I have stashed and found these adorable little containers that I purchased after Christmas offline. Bo Bunny makes these. Take a look at what they look like before you alter them.

So, I thought, WOW, I could fill these with some Easter M&M candies and decorate the package for each of the kids this year for Easter and maybe add some money to the backside of it or even attach a small card. The idea's could be endless!
So, here is my finished 3D Easter project....

Really hard to take a photo of these because the lights reflect off of them but you get the general idea. WooHoo! I'm likin' this a whole bunch that I have to go make more! :)

Our Creative Corner Challenge Project:

Stamps: Bunny from Rubber Stampede
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Almost Amethyst, Pink Pirouette, PTI White, DSP from Moxxie
Accessories: Circle & Circle Scallop Nestibilities, Martha Stewart Doily Border Punch, Pink Pirouette Grosgrain, Pearl Brad, Kaiser White Pearls, Scor Tape

That's all for me today!
Thanks for hoppin' by & have a great day!

Free 4 All Challenge 60

Hello & Happy TGIF!!!

Yippeee Skippy, the weekend is here! :)
Hope your all having a great day so far!

I had a bit of a rough start from lack of sleep last nite. We had some very loud & severe storms blow thru here until after midnight. One crack of thunder sound like it hit right outside my bedroom window and I think I jumped thru the ceiling, it scared me that bad! Goodness, the storms out here are wicked compared to back home!

Anyways, I found sometime after balancing the checkbook today to sneak off and do today's Free 4 All Challenge 60. We were to use a piece of furniture and a something that had been neglected. Hummm, that is one challenge that really made me think!

I knew I had recently got the set from the SU Catty called Have A Seat and remembered I had some notebook that I picked up at Micheal's with chairs inside. I used my Cuttlebug Distressed Stripes Embossing Folder as my neglected item. I remember I had to have that folder when it came out and I hardly ever used it. It all came together and i'm quite happy with it except for my picture. It's very rainy, cool & just dreary here today, sorry!

Have A Seat is also set #57 in my quest to see that all my sets see ink in 2011. I have about 200 more to go! LOL

Free 4 All Challenge 60:

Stamps: Have A Seat (set #57), Sentiment from PTI

So, I looked thru all my sets for about 20 minutes looking for a certain set but I must have sold it at last year's yard sale because I could not find it. I found another adorable little set on my shelf that needed some love. This is set #57 in my quest to see that all my sets see ink in 2011. The set is called Ahoy Matey!

Easter Door Hanger

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope your week is off to a good start!

Yesterday, Shawn & I went off on a field trip like I had mentioned. It was a very warm & humid day and thunderstorms were on our doorstep. We went to West Mineral, Kansas, to see a local tourist attraction & museum called Big Brutus. Big Brutus was an old piece of equipment used many years ago for coal mining in Kansas. It stands 16 stories high or 160 feet from the ground. Very interesting thing to see!! Here is a link if your interested in more:
Big Brutus

I made sure I took lots of pics to scrapbook this one day!
We had a good time! Below are 2 pictures...check'em out!

So, today i'm catching up on some things around the house. I was gonna go stamp today until my friend, Amy, from back home called and we chit chatted about 2 hours! Then I lost my creative thought! LOL I do, however, have my Easter Door Hanger to share. I finished it up last week but had not posted it yet.
Take a look..

I really like the pastel colors on this and Kelsey just adores it! LOL I'm surprised I haven't found it hanging on her bedroom door yet! Haha!

Peaceful Swans

Good Morning & Happy Sunday!

Can't believe i'm awake already after only going to bed at 2am! We stayed up way late watching repeat shows of last years, Deadliest Catch. It was really sad but i'm excited for the new season to start this week!

Anyways, a few weeks ago one of my friends from back home sent me an envelope full of stamped images that we are gonna make into cards and share on our blogs. We did this a few years ago and decided to start it again. It's always fun to see what the other person comes up with!
Below are my card samples and Jen's can be see over on her blog: Jetstudio Designs.

The set we have used today is called Peaceful Swans by Sweet N Sassy Stamps. I really like this set with all the different swan images and sentiments! So pretty!

Peaceful Swans Sympathy Card:

Stamps: Peaceful Swans, Sentiment inside unknown
Ink: Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Tempt. Turq, White, Tempt. Turq. Prints DSP
Accessories: Oval & Oval Scallop Nestibilities, SU Tulips Embossing Folder, SU Scallop Trim Border Punch, White Sheer Ribbon, Kaiser White Pearls. Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for me!
I can't decide if I should go back to bed for a bit longer or go get everyone up for a field trip today! Shawn was talking of going about an hour from here to see something but i'm kinda leary on it with bad storms coming today. That always makes me nervous living in tornado alley!
Well, whatever I decide you'll hear about it tomorrow! LOL
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day! :)
