Just Checking In....

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Hope your all doing well. I have been having some issues and today I finally had enough and went to the doctor. Last week I was helping Ryan get dressed by lifting him up and something went pop in my back, I almost dropped him as it took my breathe away! I've been popping Advil and using the heating pad on it but nothing was helping. Sleeping at night has been a nightmare and then durning the day I am grouchy and just beat. Today, I got to the end of my rope and Shawn took me to see a doctor. They did xrays and they found nothing severe so I was diagnosed with a Lumbar Sprain (muscle spasms). They sent me on my way with Vicodin, Flexerall & Naproxen. That should keep me loopy for a few days and I really don't care as long as it helps my pain!

So, I haven't been really crafty lately because of my pain but I hope that soon changes! I have SO much new stuff that I cannot wait to play with it!
What I am sharing today is something I made for my craft show a few weeks ago. I got this idea from a friend of mine back home. Each bag has in it a covered composition book, a Yankee Air Freshner and a Yankee Votive Candle...all done up for the holidays!!

Well, I think my meds are kicking in and i'd like to eat before I crash & burn so that will be all for me today! Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!!!

Halloween Tote

Hello & Happy Friday!

Hope everyone had a great week!
The weekend is finally upon us and the weather here in Joplin the last 2 days has gotten quite cool and I for one is lovin it! The crisp cool air reminds me of fall & Halloween that are just around the corner. Fall is my 2nd favorite time of the year after spring and since it's been brutally hot here this summer, i'm happy that fall is on our doorsteps!!

So yesterday Vicki & I got together and stamped! She brought all kinds of goodies and I loved each one! We made these wooden Halloween totes. She picked these up at Micheal's and spray painted them with black paint and then we grabbed some designer papers and got started. I chose Stampin Up's Frightful Sight DSP because I loved the little ghosts on the one sheet. Then I also remembered seeing people use the Owl punch upside down as a ghost so of course I had to try that!! I then used Vicki's stamp set called Scaredy Cat and embossed the Happy Halloween w/ghost image in white embossing powder on Black cardstock and layered it on Pumpkin Pie cardstock with my little ghost coming up behind the saying. Then, Tuesday when we went to Micheal's we picked up these cute little Halloween clothes pins and I added the black & white spider one to my handle with some scrap pieces of ribbon. I found in my stash the Halloween shredded paper and some Halloween peanut butter pumpkins! Yum! Oh my, I think it's Spooky cute! :)

Thanks again Vicki for bringing over some awfully cute projects!
I had a blast with you!! :)

Ghostly Halloween Tote:

Stamps: Scaredy Cat
Ink: none
Cardstock: Neenah White, Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie

Well, that's all for today!
Hope you enjoyed Vicki & I's little totes! They were fun to make!! :)

Let It Snow

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope your all having a great day!
It's a rainy, dreary day here in Joplin but we so desperately need the rain! Yesterday, we hit 100 degrees but while I was out & about I seen on a bank sign that it was 102 degrees. Today it is a cool and breezy 70 degrees and i'm lovin it!

So today i'm sharing a card I made for the craft show. I was using up some images that I had in my image box that just called out to me. This adorable snowman is from Inkadinkado.

Let it Snow Card:

Stamps: Snowman from Inkadinkado, Sentiment from Hero Arts
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers

Greeting Card Kids

Hello & Happy Sunday!

I know it's been a week since I last posted. Life has been crazy to say the least!
We returned back to Joplin this past Tuesday with my son in tow! That has brought on alot of challenges I have not had to deal with in a long time. He had back surgery last year after we moved to MO and in my opinion it did not go well. He is more dependent on someone to be around to help him now than he was a year ago. He was born with Cerebral Palsy and over the last few years his spine started to curve. Last year he decided since he is 24, not to move to MO with us and shortly after to have the spine surgery. Before the surgery he was a little more independent than what he is now. I'm finding myself helping him with almost any task that needs to be done from the bathroom, showering to just getting in & out of the Lazy Boy. He's not able to put weight on his feet since the surgery and lifting him is bothering my back. He's done months of physical therapy since the surgery but he still is not able to apply pressure on his feet to stand. It's a bit frustrating but we'll get thru it!

So, today I wanted to get back to sharing something stamp related. I made this card right before we went back to PA for vacation. I used Vicki's stamp set Greeting Card Kids for this! I know she just love's this set!! :)

September 1st....It's Calendar Time!

Hello & Happy Thursday!
It's September 1st.....can you believe it????

Time is flying by so quickly! The kids in Joplin have returned to school a few weeks ago and the kids back in PA returned this past week. Hearing the buses running thru our old neighborhood brought back many memories for us this past week. It saddened me to realize all my kiddo's are grown up now. I spent many of years outside in all kinds of weather waiting on school buses with the kids. Happy days gone by....
So, since it's the first day of September i'm sharing my September 2011 Pure Innocence & Magnolia calendars!

The top one I made for Deb. And mine is the one below...

I'm excited for next month's calendars! They will be Halloween!! :) Being back in PA there has been the feeling of fall in the air! The weather here has been so nice and just a touch of crispness in the air. Another thing I miss about home!

So, Tuesday night we attended my oldest daughter's graduation. She attended YTI in Lancaster for Medical Billing & Coding. Here is a picture of Kirsten & I afterwards. I am very proud of her and this accomplishment!! :)

All I can say is.....I love being home & seeing my kids and friends! Makes my heart happy! :)

Well, that's all for me!
Thank you for stopping by & Happy September 1st!!!
