Sketch Challenge 370

Hello & Happy Wednesday!!

WOW, today is February 1st already!!! Last night Shawn & I were talking about the big event that happened a year ago out in Joplin, MO......we had almost 2 foot of snow! Yep, one year ago today, he was stranded at work and eventually ended up walking home in blizzard conditions. I remember it was soooo cold and blustery! Big difference compared to the weather we are having today! It's beautiful here in PA today....temps in the upper 50's! I'll happily take the winter we've had this year! :)

Also today is Sketch Challenge day over at SCS. Korin from Sweet n Sassy Stamps gave us this awesome layout! Check it out and my samples below....

Color & Sketch Challenges Combined

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope your all having a great day!

I got around to doing some stamping today since I didn't yesterday! We got word of our new car getting to the car dealership and the rest of day got away from me! We actually traded in both of our cars for 2 new ones so tonight we will go pick up the other one! I was alittle down about getting rid of the truck & Winky (our Muraski (purple) 2010 Scion xB) but our truck is only 2 wheel drive and did not go anywhere in the snow and God knows living in PA we "usually" get lots of the white stuff and need something to get us around. And then Winky, well, she's been an awfully good car and so pretty at that! We decided to trade them both in and get a 2012 Scion xD (which is smaller than the xB) and get the 2012 Release Series Hot Lava xB. Around here we love our Scions! LOL I posted a pic of it at the end of this post so check it out and tell me what you think! We're trying to come up with a name for it and if you have something in mind....please let me know!

Anyways, I got to stamp today!
I combined yesterday's Color Challenge 359 and today's Sketch Challenge 369. The colors are: Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade & Basic Black with the dessert option of using 2 different embossing folders (which I took advantage of)!
Below is the layout & my sample....take a look!

Color Challenge 359 & Sketch Challenge 369 Card:

Stamps: Bold Blossom (set #9)
Ink: Poppy Parade (SU Marker), Lucky Limeade, Memento Black
Cardstock: Poppy Parade, Lucky Limeade, Basic Black, Neenah White
Accessories: SU Elegant Lines & Square Lattice EF., Scallop Trim Border Punch, Tag Nestibilities, Lucky Limeade Ribbon, Kaiser White Pearls, Hot Glue, Scor Tape

So, here will be our new hot rod, well one of them!

We pick it up tonight! I'll share pictures of the other one soon!

Well, hope you liked my card for today!
That's all for me! Time to go get supper started then off to pick up the new buggy!
Thank you for stopping by & have a great day!

Sketch Challenge 367

Hello again, friends!

Today is Sketch Challenge day at SCS and Korin from Sweet & Sassy Stamps threw out to us today's layout. It's a really easy one too!

My card I made for today's challenge I made for my Bichon, Fluffy, who will turn 14 years old tomorrow! We love her with all our hearts and she is the sweetest dog you could ever have! We know she's getting up there in years so each & every day is precious and I hate to think of the day we lose her. Her health is still good other than her Syncope episodes which will get addressed soon when she goes for her 3 year rabies shot. She sleeps alot more than she use to but still loves her walks in the park! I can only hope we have a few more years with her! <3

Here is the layout and my card for Fluffy's 14th birthday!

I chose these colors from the dog bone ribbon that I had in my stash forever!

Sketch Challenge 367 Card:

Stamps: Bow Wow (set #5), Sentiment is computer generated
Ink: Memento Black
Cardstock: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point, Neenah White
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF., Dog Paw Border Punch from EK Success, Lg Oval & Scallop Oval Punches, Ribbon from stash, Black Glaze Pen, Rhinestones from Micheal's, Hot Glue, Dimensionals, Scor Tape

Color Challenge 356

Hello & Happy New Year, friends!

Hope you all had a holly jolly holiday??!! I sure did! :)

Christmas Eve day, I got a call for an invite to my Parents house for Christmas Dinner! What a shocker that was....I almost fell off my chair! In case you are wondering why I was in shock....my Mother & I have not spoken in 10 years. Christmas has got to be one of the hardest holidays to get thru when your family does not speak to you! We decided to take her up on her offer and went to dinner and had a really good time! We played Wii bowling later in the day with them, my brother & his wife and my kids. My older brother was there too but did not join in on the bowling game. My dad said it was the best Christmas he has had in many years! :)

Christmas Eve was special too! Shawn's dad came to visit and he has not seen him in about 12 years! I know it meant alot to Shawn!

New Years Eve we spent at home with the kids! New Years Day we spent taking down all the Christmas decorations and getting them packed away.
Today Shawn went back to work so i'm looking forward to things getting back to normal like getting back to my stamping and blogging!

Before I get there though I would like to share a new piece of furniture I picked up for sale over at L & L Stamps in Ephrata. I would like to eventually put my stamps on the bottom of it and find a better way to store my Copic Markers. I paid $55 for the stamp hutch and it is a great addition to my stamp room!

So, today is Color Challenge day over at SCS and it's one of my favorite challenges! The colors are: Island Indigo, Lucky Limeade & Basic Gray! My stash of Sympathy cards has dwendled so I made my card into a Sympathy card for the card rack.

Color Challenge 356 Card:

Stamps: Love & Caring (set #1)
Ink: Lucky Limeade & Island Indigo SU Markers, Basic Gray
Cardstock: Basic Gray, Lucky Limeade, Neenah White
Accessories: Cuttlebug EF, Lucky Limeade Ribbon, Pearl Brad, Oval & Oval Scallop Nestibilties, Stamp A Ma Jig, Scor Tape

Have any of you made any New Years Resolutions? I made one last year that I did not live up too. I was to use all my Stampin Up stamps this past year and once we moved back to PA that whole resolution went out the window and I got side tracked and forgot. I got up to set 115 which is a great effort! This year I have not made any resolutions except to drink alot less soda and much more water which is very difficult for me! I love my soda! Hopefully, I can stick to this one!

ETA: I have decided to try my hand at finishing up using all my Stampin Up stamps again this year! I still have many sets left that need to be inked up so let's see how many I can use in 2012! Today marks set # 1 for 2012!!

Well, that's all for today!
Thank you for stopping by & have a great day!

Color Challenge 352

Hello & Happy Tuesday!!

It's Color Challenge day over at SCS! The colors are: Real Red, Very Vanilla & Wild Wasabi! I say bring on the Christmas cards! LOL

I knew exactly what I wanted to do as soon as I seen the challenge this morning. I pulled out my pack of retired SU paper called Dashing and added my Dasher reindeer to the card. My designer paper is cut in different shapes from previous projects so I just kept them as is. I cut my Dasher image out with the Oval & Oval Scalloped Nestibilties and used some retired Wild Wasabi ribbon. Hot glued a bow on and added some gold beads and called it done! This came together very fast which is something that hardly ever happens for me!

Color Challenge 352 Card:

Stamps: Dasher (set #115)
Ink: Real Red
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Real Red, Dashing DSP (retired)
Accessories: Oval & Oval Scalloped Nestibilities, Wild Wasabi Grosgrain, Hot Glue Gun, Gold Beads, Scor Tape

Also wanted to give you an update on Shawn's mom. Her services are Friday morning. I think today it finally hit me that she is gone. I hope that she is in a much better place and pain free. I'm thankful to have had 21 years of being her daughter in law and she will be greatly missed...

Well, that's all from the Aungst residence today!
It's been a rainy, dreary one here and suppose to get some chilly temps tomorrow nite with a splash of snow. I guess it is December, huh?

Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Season's Greetings!

Hello & Happy Friday!

Hope your all having a great day so far!
We got some upsetting news last night that Shawn's mom had passed away. We knew she had been sick for years and that she was found lying in the street unconscious. Why or what happened yet, we do not know. We had not seen her in about a year and a half due to us moving away, then she moved to Virginia and recently came back as well. I was hoping over the holidays to see her and the rest of his family. Such a sad thing to happen especially at such a happy time of year....

Anyways, Shawn is home today with me so that means no stamping today until maybe later. Tomorrow him & his 2 sisters will go make some kind of arrangements for her. Hopefully, we'll have more answers then.

I did stamp this beautiful card the other day when I spent the day in my stamp room. I think i've become a huge fan of SU's Silver Glitter Paper! It packs such a punch and gives such sparkle to any project!

Isn't it purdy??

Season's Greetings Card:

Stamps: Scenic Season (set #114)
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Cardstock: Rich Razzleberry, Neenah White, SU Silver Glitter Paper
Accessories: Scallop Border Punch, Rich Razzleberry Grosgrain Ribbon, Scor Tape

Well, that's all for now!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

Thanksgiving Thursday Week 3

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Hope your all having a great day!
I bet you all thought I forgot about my Thanksgiving Thursday series that I have been featuring every Thursday in November. No, I did not forget. I'm still under the weather but each day my cold gets a little better! Also my hubby has been on vacation the last 3 days so i've been trying to spend time with him as well. He went Tuesday for his Pennsylvania Drivers License and yesterday he went for his car insurance and tags for the vehicles. Today, he put new brakes the whole way around on the truck so it will pass inspection which is tomorrow morning! It feels GOOD to be a Pennsylvania resident again! :)

So, my cards for today's Thanksgiving Thursday were highly inspired by my VERY good stampin buddy & friend, Vicki Burdick! I miss her muchly since leaving Missouri but we are planning a visit with one another next spring and I can't wait to hang with her again! Anyways, everything on my cards she has done on many of her cards recently and of course I had to stalk her!

I used Soft Suede cardstock for my base and added a layer of Vanilla and a piece of DSP from the Spice Cake pack. I used an old Vanilla tag that was cut with the Tag Coluzzle Cutter, added my sentiment and sponged it with Soft Suede. I ran a piece of Pumpkin Pie thru the Cuttlebug with SU's Square Lattice EF then punched out 3 Wide Oval Punches from SU and sponged those with Cajun Craze. Layered those and added a piece of Old Olive punched out with the Horizontal Slot Punch that I believe is retired from SU. I hot glued a button on each pumpkin that has a bow tied with gold cord. And lastly, I added a pearl brad with some Soft Suede Ribbon and called it done! I really love the look of these and credit Miss Vicki with them! She does amazing work!!

Thanksgiving Thursday Week 3 Cards:

Stamps: Seasonal Sentiments (set #111)
Ink: Soft Suede, Cajun Craze
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Vanilla, Spice Cake DSP
Accessories: SU Square Lattice EF, Wide Oval Punch, Horizontal Slot Punch, Coluzzle Tag's, Buttons, Gold Cord, Hot Glue Gun, Pearl Brad, Soft Suede Ribbon, Sponges, Scor Tape

The next couple of days will be extremely busy here! I have last minute craft show things to tie up and Kelsey & I are gonna start decorating for the holidays, shopping for Thanksgiving, making Clear Toy Pops for the show and Saturday night we are going to see Breaking Dawn (part 1)!! I'm so excited to see it!!! So, that being said, I probably won't be posting again until Monday.

Thanks again for stopping by & leaving me all your wonderful comments!
I truely do appreciate them!

Have a great weekend, friends!

Hope your having a great day so far! It's a rainy, dreary & cold day here in PA.
I'm also alittle under the weather. Guess I picked up what Shawn had last week.

So, today is the 2nd week for my Thanksgiving Thursday cards. I really struggled with these. I guess because I don't feel good. I threw so much in trash can! Ughhh I don't like days like this but I managed!
