Best Route Birthday

 Good Morning & Happy Monday!

I hope you enjoyed a nice weekend! It surely was a bit on the chilly side here but that did not stop us from getting out to walk. Even Bailee loved it!
Today it's back to the normal weekly routine....Shawn is off to work and I have to get some cleaning done. So, let's get right to the card today...

This is a card that was requested from Audrey on her last order for a man that was turning 90 soon and loves to ride his bike everyday. I am floored that a man of that age still rides a bike! I pulled out the suite of retired En Route and got to work. The papers on the card were strips that were left over from other projects and I also used the Memories & More Kit from it that I am not sure I ever used before.

Card Details:

Stamps: none
Ink: none
Cardstock: Blueberry Bushel, Gray Granite, Mango Melody (retired), En Route Memories & More Kit (retired), Best Route DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stylish Shapes Dies, Circle Layering Framelits (retired), Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I have always liked this suite of products for the colors & prints and it makes for some nice masculine cards. Audrey loved it!

Shawn's 2020 Masculine Calendar

Hello & Happy Tuesday!

I don't think we are off to a good start this morning as my hubby overslept and was running out the door. I got up to help him get on his way and stepped in doggy throw up. I really hope this is no indication of what our day is going to be like?!
I'm not sure which dog got sick during the night because both of them seem fine this morning.

I got hubby on his way and cleaned up the doggy mess so that means I can now get my blog updated!
I have said many times in the last few weeks that I wanted to get a calendar made for Shawn for his desk at work. The company is pouring lots of money into updating a very run down building and the recent renovation on the offices were completed in November.

I will share the first 6 months today and then tomorrow share the rest.
This is what it looked like packaged up with all 12 months sitting behind the frame.
Once he gets it to work he can remove the ribbon and store the rest in a drawer until he needs them.

I used sentiments that have meaning to us.
Hopefully it will make him smile when he reads them each month!
He has a deep love of cars so, of course, I had to include the Geared Up Garage!
He loves lighthouses and enjoys fishing.
We also love to ride our bikes which we don't get to do as often anymore.
He is definitely the best husband and is loved lots & lots!
Each month has a special meaning and I was happy to personalize it for him!
He said he loved it and will proudly display it on his desk!

I won't list everything I used on these so if you have any questions please feel free to shoot me an email and i'll get back to you!

Cheery Chat Birthday

Good Morning & Happy Wednesday!

The sun is shining beautifully this morning but it is downright freezing outside!
I can tell it's really cold just by looking out the window over the frozen snow.

Today I have another set of cards to share that I made as part of my customer order.
The request was for masculine birthday but nothing using any animals.
So I pulled out my pack of Best Route DSP and got to work.

First thing I did was cut my cardstock layers then added my Best Route DSP.
I know I use this design alot but it's a quick way for me to use up my ever growing DSP stash!
Once I had my layers cut I added a piece of Gray Granite Textured Ribbon and taped it to my backside of the cardstock. I have a whole roll of this ribbon and want to use it up.

Next I pulled out an old stamp called Cheery Chat.
Anyone remember this set?
I stamped my Happy Birthday on the next to the largest Stitched Shapes Square then layered it with a Scalloped Square from the Square Layering Framelits. I then took some coordinating Mango Melody cardstock and cut a Stitched Square from the Largest Stitched Shapes Framelits to add a pop of color.
Lastly I glued it all down and added a shape from the Best Route Enamel Shapes to finish these.
I think it ties it all together!

Card Details:

Stamps: Cheery Chat (retired)
Ink: Blueberry Bushel
Cardstock: Blueberry Bushel, Gray Granite, Mango Melody, Whisper White, Best Route DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Square Layering Framelits, Best Route Enamel Shapes, Gray Granite Textured Ribbon, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I think these turned out pretty awesome and hope my customer likes them!

Card Bags 4 Stamp Day

Good Morning & Happy Saturday!

Today is World Cardmaking Day and my friends are coming over around 10 to make some fun projects! It's always a great time stamping, laughing & eating!

Today I am sharing the card bags I made them.
I realized I never shared last month's bag so I will show that one first then the Halloween bag.

This bag was created using the En Route stamp set.
The little map looking thing was fussy cut and attach under my oval panel.
I just wanted something to add interest and then I added some Best Route Enamel Shapes.
This bag matched a card we made at the last get together and the girl's loved it!

Here is the Halloween Bag...

I used the Scallop Tag Topper Punch for the tag base then a layer of Granny Apple Green that I stamped with the cloud stamp from the Spooky Sweet stamp set. At the bottom of the tag I added a piece of Toil & Trouble DSP and fussy cut a witches hat and attached it with Dimensionals.
The ribbon on my tag is Granny Apple Green and Gorgeous Grape Striped tied on with White Baker's Twine. I am loving these new colors which are perfect for Halloween!

My thoughts today.....

Going to be a very fun day!
Hope you all will be making some cards, too!

That's all for now!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

En Route

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope everyone had a nice weekend!
A rainy, cool & very dreary one here. What a way to welcome in Fall!
It was cooler and I did not have to run the AC so i'm happy about that!

Today is the day Ryan has his procedure.
We are up early to finish up the last of the prep work that needs to be done.
We are a bit grumpy this morning and wishing this soon to be over.
The last 3 nights I don't think Ryan & I have slept much and it's catching up to us.
I'm sure a nap will be in the plans after we get home later today.
Please say a little prayer for him if you will.

I have a card to share today that was made at my last get together with friends.
The girls love their masculine cards and this one is made with the En Route set from the Annual Catalog.

I love the patterns and colors that are in the Best Route DSP that is in this suite.
We also used the Maps, Etc Embossing Folder, too!

Card Details:
Stamps: En Route
Ink: Blueberry Bushel, Gray Granite
Cardstock: Blueberry Bushel, Gray Granite, Whisper White, Best Route DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Map, Etc EF, Best Route Enamel Shapes, Pineapple Punch 1/8 Ribbon, Glue Dot, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I also made matching gift bags for these.
I enjoy creating them so the girls have something to carry their cards home in.
I thought I took a picture of them but I guess not.
I will add it later today!

My thoughts today....

That's for sure!
Wish us luck today!

I will be back tomorrow to update and hopefully we will have more answers.
Till then...

Thanks for stopping by & have a good day!

Starburst Card

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Halfway thru the week and we are still getting rains off & on!
Yesterday was pretty bad around my area. Many roads were closed due to flooding.
They are saying today will bring more rains and hopefully this will move away.
I know we needed the rain but not the amounts we got!

Anyways, today I have a pretty cool card to share.
I just learned how to create a Starburst style card.
Can you believe that?
I have never before made this style of card and after yesterday...I may be hooked!

This card uses a new suite that is in the Annual Catalog called Best Route on page 52 & 53.
I am always on the hunt for masculine stamps. This suite also has a pack of awesome paper to match!
Look at those colors and prints!
The bike piece jumped out at me!

Card Details:

Stamps: En Route
Ink: Blueberry Bushel
Cardstock: Blueberry Bushel, Whisper White, Best Route DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Square Layering Framelits, Best Route Enamel Shapes, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This type of card went together so much easier than I expected! So glad I tried it!
I created a Christmas card for my next stamp get together using the Starburst Technique.
I hope the girls don't mind making a Christmas card this early but I think they will love this!
