With Sympathy

Hello & Happy Saturday!

Not much on my agenda today until later this evening when football is on!
Going to make chili in the crock pot and pick at a few chores in the meantime. Shawn has to work today and it's still so stinkin hot out. I'm hoping the weather soon starts to cool down so it feels like football season.

Anyways, just a quick card to share today.
This card was made as part of my customers order last week.
A simple sympathy card.

I have to say that this card did not turn out as a simple card. I used the Rose Wonder Bundle and sat down to diecut a couple rose & leaves but it turned out to be more trouble than I expected. After cutting out all the roses I went to cut the leaves and had one heck of a time getting them lined up on my card. This was done with the rose in So Saffron and the leaves in Pear Pizzazz and lining up the 2 diecuts together created an issue for me. I eventually gave up and just stamped a few images from the stamp set and called them done. Also I tried to ink up the huge rose & leaf image with SU Markers and stamp my image on Whisper White cardstock but the images did not come out very well. I have heard that when you use markers on the photopolymer stamps that this happens. Needless to say I was pretty frustrated until I just decided to stamp a few images and be done with it! I love the sentiments in this set but really disappointed with trying to stamp the images in 2 different colors. I will give it another try....eventually!

With Sympathy Card:

Stamps: Rose Wonder
Ink: So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black Archival
Cardstock: So Saffron, Whisper White
Accessories: Rhinestone, 2 Sided Tape

My thoughts for today....

Most definitely!

That's all for today!
Thanks for stopping by & have a great day!

I hear you on the frustration of using/aligning framelits and stamps together. Walking away is sometimes the best thing to do, and another day it will all come together beautifully, you'll see :) This sympathy card turned out so pretty, and I find with sympathy cards - often simple is best anyway. I hate having to make them, but once I find a design that works, I make several to have on hand just to avoid stress in the future when you need a quick sympathy card.
Enjoy your weekend and I too am hoping for some cooler weather soon!

Nice CAS sympathy card, Wendy. Sorry I am not posting very much, as Hubby is redoing my room and it is ripped apart.
