A Good Man

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Before I get to my card today I wanted to share a picture.
If you read my blog daily you will know that I said on my Monday post that I was looking for a picture of the first time I met LeAnne Pugliese.
Yesterday instead of stamping....I searched my computer from top to bottom and I found it!

This is from Saturday June 7, 2008

from left to right is:
LeAnne Pugliese, Denise Marzec, Jen Nevil and me.

I'm happy now that I found it because it was driving me nuts not knowing where it was!

So, let's get to my card....

This card was made for my wonderful hubby but I forgot to give it to him on Sunday for Father's Day. Opps!
This set is called A Good Man and it's new! I had to get the set first because I loved the images & sentiments in it! It's one of those sets that I can use on a daily basis and this image reminded me so much of Shawn because he always flips his hat down over his face and takes a nap!

Card Details:

Stamps: A Good Man
Ink: Memento Black, Night of Navy, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Night of Navy DSP (retired)
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Square Layering Framelits, Night of Navy Enamel Heart (retired), Crumb Cake Ribbon, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

The Stampin Blends make coloring a snap!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge 317

Hello & Happy Wednesday!

Hope your week is going well so far!

I found a new to me challenge and decided to play along!
Here is the link to the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge.

Here is their sketch and my samples....

I flipped the sketch so I could use the horse from Let It Ride.

My card is made for a dear childhood friend who lost her mother last Friday.
The family loves horses and boards them on their farm so that is why I made a sympathy card with the horse.

Card Details:

Stamps: Let It Ride, Itty Bitty Greetings
Ink: Soft Suede
Cardstock: Soft Suede, Crumb Cake, Whisper White, Soft Suede & Crumb Cake DSP (retired)
Accessories: Layered Leaves EF, Stitched Shapes Framelits, Oval Layering Framelits, Classic Label Punch, Petal Pink Organdy Ribbon, White Pearls, Blender Pen, Glue Dots, Mini Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

This sketch was perfect for my card!
I hope it will give my friend some comfort in the difficult days ahead....

Relax Your Way

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday!

A late start for me this morning!
The last few days have been busy and it was catching up with me.
My back is bothering me after bathing my dogs on Sunday and yesterday I proceeded to do my house cleaning. I was ready for bed by 7 last evening and headed there shortly after.
It was still light outside but that didn't matter.
My body had enough...

Today I have a cool masculine card to share using some of the Come Sail Away DSP.
I love to mix old with new and that's what I did with this one....

Of course, the DSP is new but the main image is from many years ago called Sail Away.
It's one of my most loved masculine stamps and goes beautifully with this pack of paper!
Do you see that I used those gorgeous Stitched Nested Dies?
They are amazing!
My sentiment comes from the A Good Man stamp set.
It was stamped with Night of Navy ink and punched out with the Classic Label Punch.
My sailboat was also stamped in Night of Navy and I took a SU Blender Pen and took the ink around in certain areas to show the shading. That was a tip I learned from Debbie Henderson recently.

Card Details:

Stamps: Sail Away (retired), A Good Man
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Balmy Blue, Whisper White, Come Sail Away DSP
Accessories: Stitched Nested Dies, Classic Label Punch, Silver Metallic Enamel Dots, Blender Pen, Mini Dimensionals, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I know recently I have gotten quite a few new stamps but I always love to add in my old stamps as well. Sometimes the older stamps are exactly what we need for that special card/project!

That's all for now!

A Day of Fun

Hello & Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had a nice weekend!
It was terrific along with some nice weather!

Yesterday I shared with you that Shawn & I went to visit with LeAnne Pugliese.
I'm sure everyone knows her! Her blog is WeeInklings.
I met LeAnne several years ago, i'm thinking 2005/2006 time frame.
I know I have a picture somewhere!

Anyways, we comment on one another's blogs and have kept in touch thru the years.
A few months ago she asked if we would like a ceramic Christmas Tree since she knows we collect them. It was her mom's and surprisingly she did not want to keep it for sentimental reasons.
Of course, we would love it and cherish it like all 80 of them I think we have! LOL
Yea, i'm not kidding either!
We've been emailing back & forth the last couple weeks and this past Saturday we planned to go to her home (which is not really far, 50 miles away) and picked up the tree.
We visited and chatted and it was nice that our husbands finally met, too!
I got a sneak peek into her stamp room (which I loved!!) and grabbed some pictures before we headed back home to do yard work! Of course, the gabbing all day would have been much nicer than yard work but that's how the cookie crumbles, right?!

As a Thank You for the beautiful ceramic Christmas tree I made up a little gift for her.
She's a crafty woman so I had to up the bar! LOL
I found in my stamp room closet a picture frame that was just waiting to be used.
This is what I made for her....but first I had to figure out how to package it for her.
A long time friend of mine always told me that presentation is everything and how true is that?!
In that same closet as the frame I had a roll of Stampin Up White Wrapping Paper from eons ago.
Yep, it was still in the box!

I decided to stamp on it and then wrap the frame up for her!

The wrapping paper is stamped with the Parcels & Petals stamp set (just the flowers) and then I wrapped the present and tied it up with this GORGEOUS Petal Pink Organdy Ribbon!
That ribbon alone is to die for! Yes, Indeed!!
It looked plain so then I thought....I need a tag!
Delightful Day Bundle to the rescue!
It turned out SO much better than I could have imagined!

And then here is the big reveal....

I was pretty pleased with it!
I truthfully think I need to make myself one of these to hang in my stamp room once we get it painted!

So that was how the day went and it could not have been a nicer day!
Thank you again, LeAnne!
Fern (as we have named the new tree after her mom) will be happy, taken care of and very much loved! Welcome, Fern, to the Aungst Forest!

Parcels & Petals

Hello & Happy Sunday!

I'm up and soon headed out the door for a haircut appointment!
Nothing much planned on our agenda today since we did quite a bit yesterday.
We went on a little trip to visit my friend, LeAnne Pugliese.
I'll have more about that tomorrow on my blog so be sure to stop back!

So today I have a card to share that I made using the Parcels & Petals stamp set.
It's a nice set that has great sentiments included and I was sure to pair it up with some new In Colors!

I made this card to use for the Fab Friday Challenge last Thursday but I wasn't quite sure on it so I decided to share it today. My fish card won out over this one.
I love a monochromatic card and that's what I had in mind when making this then I added a pop of black to make things pop.
Seaside Spray is one of the new SU In Colors. It's pretty!

Card Details:

Stamps: Parcels & Petals
Ink: Seaside Spray, Memento Black
Cardstock: Seaside Spray, Whisper White, Basic Black, Seaside Spray DSP
Accessories: Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Circle Layering Framelits, Seaside Spray Linen Ribbon, Black Rhinestones, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I even decorated the inside but forgot to take a picture of it.
Anyways, I hope you like this one!

Fab Friday Challenge ~ Best Catch

Hello & Happy Friday!

The weekend is finally here!
I'm sure my husband is happy about that since he's been working since last Sunday!

Today I have a card to share that I made for the Fab Friday Challenge.
Super easy sketch!

I pulled out my Best Catch Bundle to create this card.
I will be in need of a masculine birthday card come July for a family friend who loves to fish!

Card Details:

Stamps: Best Catch, Weathered Background (retired)
Ink: Memento Black, Cajun Craze, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Thick Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Cajun Craze
Accessories: Be Mine Stitched Framelits, Catch of the Day Framelits, Cajun Craze Enamel Dots (retired), Clear Wink of Stella, Dimensionals , Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

My fish was colored with the Stampin Blends then cut out with the coordinating die.
I just love that fish!
I added some Wink of Stella on it to make it look wet.

This sketch was perfect for what I needed to make!
Hope you like it!

Tuesday Morning Sketches

Hello & Happy Thursday!

Today I am sharing my card I made for the Tuesday Morning Sketches.
I have been playing along with lots of challenges this past week.
June & July is usually my down months for card orders so this is my time to play!

Here is the sketch and my sample...

My card uses the Everything Is Rosy Medley that was Stampin Up!'s promotion for the month of May. I did not use much of it up to this point so now I am working on trying to use it as well as filling my card rack with some fresh new cards!
The DSP in the medley is beautiful with the pops of Rose Gold Foil in it!
Too pretty not to use!

Card Details:

Stamps: Dear Doily (retired)
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Thick Whisper White, Melon Mambo, Whisper White, Rose Gold Foil Paper, Everything Is Rosy DSP
Accessories: Stitched Shapes Framelits, Everything is Rosy Punch Out Flowers, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

I decorated the inside but forgot to take a picture of it!

I'm pleased with the outcome and hope that you like it too!

I decided to play with my To A Wild Rose bundle to create a pretty card!

Such a wonderful stamp set with some beautiful sentiments included!
This set was designed by Mary Ellen Byler for her Million Dollar Sales Achievement!

Dino Days Sketch Challenge

Hello & Happy Monday!

Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

Our weather here was nice but a bit on the windy, cool side.
However, I am not complaining because I know it could be hot & humid!

Yesterday, Shawn had First Aid training at work from the American Red Cross to learn CPR and how to take care of different injuries if the need would ever arise.
I stamped during the afternoon since there wasn't much else to do.
I seen Debbie Henderson has a monthly challenge on her FB page that I wanted to play along with.

I just got the Dino Days and had to get it inked up!
I'm usually not one to get the kid sets but this one had some adorable sentiments included and the coordinating DSP was so cute!! I figured i'd find ways to use it!
So this card will get sent to Kelsey!

Card Details:

Stamps: Dino Days
Ink: Pretty Peacock, Mango Melody, Lovely Lipstick
Cardstock: Pretty Peacock, Lovely Lipstick, Whisper White, Dinoroar DSP
Accessories: Dino Dies, Delightful Days Tag Topper Punch, Subtle EF, Pretty Peacock Lacy Ribbon, Pretty Peacock Faceted Dots, Dinoroar Enamel Dots, Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

My Pretty Peacock dinosaur was stamped off and cut out with the matching Dino Dies.
And his back fins were also a separate die which is pretty cool!
I'm anxious to play more with this set!

My thoughts today....

We need the rain so I won't complain....
Rainy days are always good for crafting, right?

Beautiful Magnolia

Hello & Happy Sunday!

My hubby had to go to work this morning for some kind of training for all the employees.
The sun is shining brightly but I think eventually showers are to move in.
It's also a bit brisk out. I shut all my windows as do I dare to say that I was cold!?
Yep, one day i'm a heat box, then next i'm cold....

Anyways, I have another Magnolia card for you!
All I will say is that this set is amazing!

My friend Vicki wanted me to use this set last week when it arrived so this is the second one I cranked out that afternoon!
Lots of coloring but the Stampin Blends make it so easy!
My sentiment also had more words on it that I masked off because I wasn't really keen with the last sentence. Do you ever cut your stamps apart to make the words fit for the occasion?

Card Details:

Stamps: Good Morning Magnolia
Ink: Memento Black, Stampin Blends
Cardstock: Petal Pink, Mossy Meadow, Whisper White, Magnolia Lane DSP
Accessories: Magnolia Memory Dies, Stitched Rectangle Framelits, Be Mine Stitched Framelits, So Saffron Enamel Dots (retired), Dimensionals, Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue

So pleased with how both of my Magnolia cards have turned out!
I see many more pretty cards in my future with this bundle!
It's a must have!
