Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 94~ Holly Chickadee

Happy Sunday, friends!

Hope you all had a great weekend.
I decided today to take the pludge and participate in another new to me challenge. The sketch looked pretty easy but I have to say that I struggled with it.

Here is the sketch layout & my samples:

I got this Holly Chickadee stamp at the York Stamp Show last month and have not inked it till now. It is by Impression Obsession. I love their stamps!
I used Real Red for my card base then used a layer of Old Olive and white under the mail image. The white piece is embossed with Cuttlebug's Holly Branch Folder which I purchased last year and never used. I love it but hated that most of it is covered up. I colored my image with Copic Markers. Cut it out with Circle Nestibilities and added some red pearls from Kaiser. The Old Olive & Real Red pieces are punched with SU's Scallop Trim Border Punch. I don't know what it is about that punch but I love it! :) Lastly I added some 5/8 in Old Olive Grosgrain with a flat bow. I'm not real wild on my card but it's growing on me.

Well, hubby is in the kitchen making Apple Crisp for snack and i'm sitting here watching the AMA's and wishing they'd bring Bon Jovi back on stage! LOL Weren't they good?? :)
So, that's all for me tonight! Thanks for stopping by!

Sketch Challenge 307

Hello!!

Hope you all had a great day! I know I did! I tried to go to bed with the hubby earlier tonight and I just could not sleep. A friend came over to stamp and I was just in awe of her cute little gingerbread die she just got....and to top it off she left me borrow him!! :) Most people know I have a gingerbread fetish! LOL I don't like gingerbread cake or cookies but just the little gingerbread guys in general. Anywho, I was so keyed up from my afternoon with her that I just needed to go stamp some more! hehe

Since I did not get a chance to participate in today's Sketch Challenge over at SCS...I did print out the sketch to do at a later time. I went to bed with that on my mind and it finally got the best of me and out of bed I went! LOL
Below is the sketch layout and my card samples.....

Now I have to say that I have had my eye on this very old SU stamp set on Ebay for quite sometime. This past Sunday I finally took the plunge and went for it. Guess what....I WON!! I have always loved the old SU sets for some reason and today it arrived in the mail so I knew this is what my card was gonna have on it. :)

I got my ham & green beans in the crock pot for supper tonight and i'm thinking of making a homemade banana bread or banana muffins for a treat later! First I think i'm gonna try to grab a quick nap! LOL

Anyways, I got right to work on today's Color Challenge from over at SCS. The colors today are: Perfect Plum, Baja Breeze and Pear Pizzazz. I don't have Pear Pizzazz so I substituted it with Certainly Celery. Take a look....

So, today Fluffy had her first appointment with a new groomer out here in Joplin. We said she was in doggie daycare all day because Shawn dropped her off on his way to school this morning then picked her up on his way home. She looked ohhh so cute with the little bows in her ears but boy was she ever mad at us! Not sure if she didn't like the groomer or just being in doggie daycare all day but she was not a happy camper!

Well, that's all from me for now!
Thanks for stopping by & have a good evening!

A Day of Traveling Rt 66

Howdy friends!!

It's a very rainy evening here in Joplin, MO. We are taking it easy after a long day of traveling around the area checking out part of Route 66 here in the midwest. We went thru some of Missouri, then Kansas and part of Oklahoma and turned around and headed back home. It was awesome to see the little towns and the millions of miles of farmland. A really different way of life, that's for sure!
Below are some pics I snapped along the way! One day I will scrap these so we have them to look back on. :)

Below is a few decorated Hershey bar sleeves I made for the show. I love making these!!
Take a look...

These make the cutest little stocking stuffers!

Well, that's all for me for tonight! I was up very early so I could catch Bon Jovi on the Today Show this morning! WooHoo! Made my day! :)
So, with that i'll greet you all a goodnight! I'm off to a Stamp Camp again tomorrow but i'm gonna try to update later in the day so stay tuned, ok?
Thanks for stopping by! Happy TGIF!!

More Christmas Notebooks

Hello everyone!

Another quick post as i'm exhausted and ready to hit the hay! At the moment we are sitting here watching the Boston Celtics basketball game. I am slowly falling asleep since I stamped my butt off all day! I got my craft show stuff finished and packed to be shipped out in the morning. I don't have much compared to other years but i'm happy with what I do have made. Below is a few more Christmas Notebooks that I finished up today. I like all 3 so I can't say which one I like better! LOL

Take a look...

Well, that's it for me tonight! My bed is calling my name!
Shawn is on vacation so tomorrow we are going on a field trip on Route 66 to see some of the sights. Gonna make the best of it while we're here and check things out so one day we can look back and say..."Yea, we were there"! :) Tomorrow (Friday) is also Kelsey & I's 1 month anniversary of being here in MO. The time has gone by quickly!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back later tomorrow to update, ok?

Thanksgiving Door Hanger

Hello fellow stampers & friends!

I hear the weather back home has been kinda rainy, snowy & cold. Here in MO it's been warm but very breezy. No, i'm not rubbing it in because i'd do anything to be back home but it's been pretty decent here. Saturday hubby worked doing inventory at work then Sunday we raked the leaves from the yard but there are still alot of leaves on the trees around here so I know we aren't done yet! I spent Saturday getting some craft show stuff done. Yesterday, I finished up my decorated candy bar sleeves and the Snowman Soup Tins. Today, I need to get tablets & notebooks finished. Come Friday I have to have my stuff packed and ready to ship back home so the ladies can get everything set up for the Holiday Craft Show which starts Black Friday. I won't have much for this year since I took a vacation from stamping earlier this year but I am trying to make things that are big sellers.

My project today that i'm sharing I made last week. I did a door hanger last month for Halloween and decided from now on to make one for every holiday or every season. Here is my Thanksgiving door hanger.....Take a look!

Thanksgiving Door Hanger:

Stamps: Leaves & Sentiment from Impression Obsession
Ink: Creole Spice Pad, Always Artichoke
Cardstock: Always Artichoke, PTI White, More Mustard, Autumn Traditions DSP
Accessories: Circle & Circle Scallop Nestibitlites, SU Scallop Trim Border Punch, Eggplant Grosgrain, Gold Cord, Buttons, Linen Thread, Exacto Knife, Sanding Block, Glue Dots, Scor Tape

I used last years Autumn Traditions DSP and the leaves & sentiment are both from Impression Obsessions. I added some Elegant Eggplant Grosgrain with some gold cord and a few buttons to dress it up. It's now displayed on my front door till Thanksgiving is over. I will have to go to Micheal's to pick up more of these wood door hangers to make one for Christmas. I love them!!

Well, i'm gonna head back to bed for a bit. I wasn't quite ready to get up this morning when Shawn got up. Last night we went to see the Bon Jovi movie that was out for one night ONLY! It was concert footage of them playing at the New Meadowlands Stadium in New Jersey from this past summer. Bascially, it was the same thing we saw when we seen them in concert in Hershey, PA back in May but I did NOT mind one bit! LOL Shawn & I both enjoyed it! A fun night out indeed!! :)

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have a great day!

Free 4 All ~ Tail Waggin Greetings

Good Morning, Good Morning, Good Morning!
Happy TGIF, fellow stamper & friends!!

Finally, Friday is upon us! I've had a good week but most of all i've found my way back to stamping pretty much on a daily basis! Some days it's a struggle to head to the garage to stamp but i'm doin it! :)

This morning I was up way (like 4am) before the alarm clock. Went right to the garage and checked out today's Free 4 All Challenge (which by the way use to be named Limited Supplies Challenge and somewhere along the line they changed it). We were challenged to use dogs on our cards. Jeanne S. called the challenge Tail Waggin Greetings and I LIKE IT! :)

I went in search of a dog stamp and found my Sheepdog from Whipper Snapper smiling at me so early in the morning! LOL I found this Bo Bunny dog paper that I picked up somewhere in my travels and put it all to good use!
Take a look....

Sorry for the dark looking pictures. I'm in the garage with no windows for any kind of daylight. My lightbox has daylight bulbs in them but don't think it's doing much. Might have to find a new location to take pictures soon.

Free 4 All #37 Card:

Stamps: Whipper Snapper, Sentiment from Hero Arts
Ink: Memento Black, Copic Markers
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Marina Mist, PTI White, DSP from Bo Bunny

Well, I think that's all for me right now! Hope you enjoyed my tail waggin card!
Thanks for stopping by & have a fabulous Friday!
See you tomorrow! ~Wendy

2 Challenges In One...

Hello fellow stampers & friends!

Hope your day is going well so far! Can you believe that it is November 2nd already! Gosh, this year is just flying by! Yesterday the weather here was gloomy then it rained last evening making it feel quite chilly & damp. We took Fluffy out for a walk at the park then came home to eat supper and we were in our pj's shortly after! Shawn has been battling alittle bit of a cold but said today he feels better but not 100%. Today the sun is shining brightly over Joplin but there's a chill in the air.

I decided as soon as my soap opera was over I was heading to my stamp room today to work on some challenges and get some holiday cards made. I've been quite the slacker! Since Thanksgiving is around the corner I thought i'd better get my butt in gear. LOL Below is this week's Mojo Monday Sketch #163. I combined this challenge with this week's Color Challenge #295 from over at SCS. Today's colors are: Chocolate Chip, Peach Parfait and Cajun Craze. Since I do not have Peach Parfait & Cajun Craze we could substitute Pumpkin Pie & Really Rust.
Take a look...

Mojo Monday Sketch #163 & CC #295 Card:

Stamps: Autumn Leaf Prints, Sentiment from All Year Cheer 3
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust
Cardstock: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Really Rust, PTI Vanilla
Accessories: Labels 4 Nestibilities, SU Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Chocolate Chip 5/8 Grosgrain, Sponge, Gold Brads, Scor Tape

Below is a few pictures I snapped on Sunday of Fluffy...
This is where we have been taking her for a walk. It's about 2-3 blocks from our house and it's probably one of the nicest parks i've ever seen. She loves going there! :)

Last picture is of her favorite spot to lay at our new house in Joplin. This is our dining room where there are patio doors that lead out to a screened in room. Oh it's wonderful on a nice day to be able to leave this inside door open for her to go in & out. She absolutely loves this feature! :)

Well, that's all for me on the beautiful day! Thank you for stopping by & I wish you a wonderful day! ~Wendy
